Chaotic. Opens at 9:30 and no coffee till 9:55. Four staff working and two stood by coffee machine waiting for it to heat up. Why it wasn’t turned on ready for the opening rush. Then served others before those who had been waiting. Toast cold and tasted of plastic and waited ages and cook with red hair gave a dirty look to customer when complained about length of wait. Think staff need more training and better service to customers. Will be taking business elsewhere.

Thought I’d try after living in the village 18 months. Sorry to say the breakfast was dire. It was 12 noon and I ordered the all day breakfast for myself and friend. Overcooked to the point of inedible. Absolutely frazzled in the microwave or similar, grey rock hard hash browns , bacon looked well done and was like plastic, sausages dry hard, the mushroom was the texture of plastic, seriously never seen anything like it. Bacon sausage rock hard, we ate the egg beans and a piece of toast. Tables were left piled with dirty. Crockery, service was awful despite a small amount of effort made. This so let down the Booths brand. I paid 23 pounds and I’m disappointed to say, never ever again. The coffee was nice. The cafe was busy, I have honestly no clue why other than service was dire. Needed to get back to work so had no time to complain, I just voted with my feet.

A year later and no improvement. Adhoc staffing, no consistency amongst the staff. Usually one person serving as well as making the coffee… leading to pointless waiting and no acknowledgement. Still stale cakes served at times… soo poorly managed and organised.

Avoid because they use Parking Eye scum for their parking. Cannot believe Booths are working with these cowboys to rip off their customers if they go 10-20 minutes over their 2 hour limit - which is ridiculous when you have a cafe. My wife & I visit the Booths restaurant at least once a week. The coffee is always first class. On our most recent visit, Tuesday 27th September, our drinks were once again perfect, and to go with mine I asked for a 'well done' bacon sandwich, which when it came was about as good as it could possibly have been. Crispy bacon, just as requested, and a beautifully soft, fresh white bap. I have always found the staff to be very friendly, both upstairs in the restaurant and downstairs in the store itself. Thank you Booths, and well done.

Just gets worse. Ups and downs… more than two customers at a time place feels that staff are overwhelmed, resulting in slow service, very slow and tables mounting up waiting to be cleared. I was appalled at the unreasonable and rude customer service I experienced after recently attending Booths cafe, following its recent opening. I was told by a staff member that I should not have seated myself at one of the cafe chairs as she had to sanitise it. I informed her I had not in fact been seated there, however only placed a tray on the table for two seconds and then moved to a window seat. The staff member rudely went on to tell me how she now had to clean two tables and that I should not have moved. I informed her, I could not see notices advising customers they were not allowed to move tables or in my case place a tray for 2 seconds on a table. She then patronisingly informed me we were in a global pandemic and if she had been me would not have done this. Her attitude and manner were atrocious and very patronising. I spend a fortune each month in this store and won't be returning after this appalling customer service. Usually, the staff are lovely, I feel quite appalled by this girl's mannerism and attitude. Had I actually been seated at this table, I might have understood and apologised if her attitude had been reasonable. Her remarks were openely vocalised in earshot of all other customers.

Having visited the cafe since it first opened there have been ups and downs. There are some lovely staff members but unfortunately some rude staff and frankly silly rules spoil it. Charges for extra milk with a now expensive pot of tea (changes to the Booths card) and staff being "watched" by management on CCTV if they give you extra hot water? Hopefully this issue is resolved after discussion with the manager, but it shouldn't have ever been an issue.

If they had a larger menu offering l could understand, but toast and cakes, isn't really rocket science. Also on each occasion l noticed that only one utensil was used for all the different kinds of cakes, not ideal for anyone with fair for nut allergies, and no catering gloves used either. The toast however is nice and chunky..

Visited the booths cafe yesterday with family for afternoon tea which we had pre booked earlier in the week. I rang in the morning to confirm our booking was all correct and that I'd definitely reserved a table by the window ( as countless times in the past we have gone and no table has been reserved) and I was told everything was correct. However when we arrived there wasn't any table reserved and the cafe was full with no where to sit. I told the young girl at the till we'd booked afternoon tea and the table we had reserved had people sat at it and she apologised and said it had been so busy that she completely forgot to reserve anything. Luckily at this point a table became free so we went and sat there and the girl was very apologetic and gave us a sandwich and juice for our daughter free of charge to say sorry. At this point we felt quite bad for the staff at the cafe as the girl that had served us was completely out of breath and rushed off her feet clearing tables and serving at the till whilst seeming to manage all the other staff at the same time. We got our afternoon tea (which comes served on a wooden block not the traditional three tier stand) and as always the selection is always good and high quality like you'd expect at booths, but then we were sat there with no plates or cutlery for a while and no one came so I went and got some at the till. Once again not a massive problem because the staff seemed rushed off their feet. After all that we had a nice time and enjoyed the food but I don't know if we'll be coming back anytime soon unfortunately.

My bacon roll, had so much bread (and it was nice bread) that i couldn't taste the one rasher that was hidden away inside. However, be careful of what you wish for, as my wifes sausage cob left her stomach unsettled for the rest of the day. Still we weren't hungry any more

Brand new store which I have been in many times but had never been in the café. I have now and there is nothing wrong with it, but it's not for me. great view if you get the right window. Seems to have a limited menu.

This cafe only serves sandwiches (prepacked) cofee and cakes. All delighfull and good, but the food ofereing is on the whole poor. If you are a Booths card holder the the coffee is a good item (Free if you buy a cake). Great place to go after shopping at Booths or a walk on the park, but its NOT a restaurant or even a cafe, its a coffee shop!

A huge space is devoted to the cafe but what a missed opportunity. The selection of food is very limited and basic things like scones and croissants are often not available. The service is dreadfully slow and it is necessary to repeat your order to the staff who seem incapable of remembering (2 skinny cappuccinos). The tables are not cleared or wiped often enough it seems to be the customers responsibility to clear a space. Nit good enough Booths.

To access Booths cafe you can walk up the stairs or take the lift.the room is large and airy with a good view.the seating is a mix of rustic tables seating between 2-6 as well as leather sofas with coffee tables.there is free wifi which brings in local teenagers who also know where the power sockets are to charge there phones, there are also news papers to read.the coffee is good and is free if you have Booth ' s card and buy somthing to eat which in my case is usually a scone which I can recommend.

Very disappointing considering the quality and variety of food available in the store. The choice of food on the menu is poor and very limited. The cafe is bright and airy, with a super children's sitting and play corner which attracts young families after a walk in the park and shoppers who want a quick cup of coffee and a piece of cake. Come on Booths pull your socks up,you could be sitting on a little gold mine, wonderful facilities but poor and unimaginative efforts on your behalf!!

Went for tea and sandwich .. Only two young girls operating till , getting food and drinks and serving food !! As a result at 11.30am long queue .. Girl making drinks looking for a clean cup supposedly among the clean cups .. She sticks fingers in the cups to check .. Definitely a no no for me .. Takes over half a dozen cups into the back which are dirty .. Is there no proper dishwasher ? First t pot is dirty all down and in the spout .. Second one the same and they need washing properly into the spot with a bottle brush .. Yuk .. Ham sandwich no butter on it .. Second one that it is swapped for also has only thin smear of butter in one half of sandwich so no taste .. One of the worst places I have been .. Many better cafes around ... Not good enough for Booths !!

The visit was spoilt by the fact that we had to clear our table. There were two children running around not being supervised. Although the drinks and cakes were lovely the visit was not as pleasant as it could be due to the unclean table and the creche like atmosphere.

Booths BARROWFORD, where do I start. Designed at the checkout by an idiot. Queues all over the place with no room or channels. Stock management. A joke. Call regularly and I guarantee they do not have on the shelf at least 2 or 3 items you want.... today, fresh pasta and dried Parmesan. Why, not really exotic? If however exotic is what you want, you'll find it no matter how obscure. Happens every day. Freshly squeezed orange machine, why do they bother? Either no oranges, no bottles, both or, staff dismantle it at 4:30pm for an 8:00pm close! The Deli counter is the same, the management allow the early closure of these, why? No way can you call in after work and get what you want. I suspect that at 8:01 the store is evacuated because they effectively cease the business of being a supermarket hours before. All a shame because they are a local family business and the prices you can stomach when there is quality. They should concentrate on getting the basics right first, stock the shelves, don't start the closure process by 5pm. The tiny convenience Morrisons down the road is far more professional in what they do. For a business that wasn't really needed (or wanted), I don't get it. If I wanted a deli I can go to Turners or Bistro7. Be a supermarket!!!!

This is now our GO-TO cafe in Barrowford since the coffee is always excellent, the service usually good and the airy atmosphere always superb. Granted there is only a limited choice of food and a small selection of hot food would greatly improve the place, but the staff are always helpful and the cold food they do provided is always fresh and good value. Finally the BOOTHS card makes it very reasonable with free drinks.

My wife and I use Booths Supermarkets from time to time and have visited nearly all from Knutsford to Keswick over the years. This is a new site so we decided to have a trip out and visit. We must say that we were disappointed. The store was smaller than anticipated and the car park was not easy to navigate from the main road. To enter the store you had to push a trolley across the access road which was on an adverse camber causing said trolley to steer downhill. The quality of goods on show was as Booths always are...good. The major problem, and one to which many queue members made comment, was the checkout area. The 4 conveyor tills were unmanned, whilst the 4 basket tills were eventually fully manned. But it is difficult to empty a trolley and load bags at a basket till. Why were there no conveyors in use? Most annoying. Disappointed in the cafe when comparing others in the group, say Penwortham or Burscough. Hopefully till strategy will improve as I believe Booths to be one of the best Supermarket chains in the North.

Will always tend to drop into booths for a light bite and drink. First impressions; impressed with the space, lighting, and general ambiance. Food or lack of it on the given menu, the lack of choice. Ended up with just a coffee and muffin. The coffee wasn't that good tasting. At the time just after 3pm only one person serving, which did become two later....but the queue and waiting around when there is just the one coffee machine. I hope things develop here as would quickly hit off but with such limitations....better local places to go.

Booths supermarket has now been open for 4 months and the cafe is a welcome addition. If you have a Booths card the coffee and tea are free if you buy food to go with it. There are sandwiches, biscuits and cakes available throughout the day and delicious soup is available at lunchtime. The cafe itself is really comfortable.and the windows overlook Barrowford park. There is a small children's play area and a lovely gift shop next to the cafe. I must admit I have been visiting the store and cafe about 3 times a week it is so convenient. It is so spacious that it is possible to take push chairs in without bothering other customers.

I've visited booths twice over the last month both times enjoying the food and the service. The first time was a busy rainy lunctime where we found a nice comfy spot with a superview to enjoy the tomatoe soup with the fantastic booths bread!! The second time I got a bacon tea cake and my free hot drink and went upstairs to enjoy the atmosphere of the cafe! My scone was soon honenfor desert!! The ladies in the cafe do a fanatic job and couldn't be more accommodating. Cleanliness is top drawer and prices more than reasonable for the quality of food. Will defo be visiting any lunchtime I'm in the area!!

Only soup and sandwiches . We were a bit disappointed when we found out they didn't do hot meals but we decided to stay. Glad we did. The quality of the soup, sandwich and coffee was top notch. The cheese and ham on the sandwich was not only plentiful but excellent quality . The prices were more than reasonable . The coffee was the best we've had for ages by a country mile. Standard 2 shots in the Americano but only 20p for an extra shot on top. Staff were efficient and friendly and the toilets are state of the art and very clean. Had a look round the shop below too. Fabulous . Well worth the stop off.

So disappointed, we were looking forward to Booths coming to our village but the cafe is a joke and not for the faint hearted. One coffee machine + one till + a queue of customers = chaos.Even worse than that - if you want orange juice it is not on sale in the cafe - you have to go downstairs, find it, queue, pay for it and bring it back upstairs. If you want a bacon or sausage sandwich/roll ( a staple for breakfast in my opinion) guess what you have to go downstairs, find it, queue, pay for it and take it back upstairs!. A RIDICULOUS system, if I go to a cafe I want everything that I want in one place at one time and handed to me in a timely fashion. At 9.10am one Saturday morning (cafe opens at 8am and presumably a busy day) there was no bread for toast, so we gave up. However, when we went downstairs to see where the orange juice stall and the hot food counter were, there was juice but no hot food available. Booths has a reputation better than this but they ignore customer concerns and comments. We won't be frequenting here again. There are better cafe's and in the village only 1 minutes walk from Booths that deliver better food at one time in one place.

Lovely restaurant, very friendly staff but there it stops! We forgave the two poorly prepared coffees which had to be remade. However, we could not forgive the food that was served up. 'Homemade' Cheese and Onion pie with chips and beans (£14.50 each) - we were hoping for a treat at that price - sadly there was not much more than a tablespoon of beans in a tiny dish, a meagre portion of thin fries and a dish of what can only be described as thick cheese sauce 'mush' mixed with raw red onion, topped with a thin puff pastry lid (definitely NOT a pie) - yes we know there are overheads but that cannot have cost more than a few pounds at the very most to produce. Prices may have gone up but this was absolute miles away from value for money. I haven't made reference to the other meals in our party as I feel the above comments are damning enough. The bill for our party was close to £90 - we did offer constructive feedback to staff and it would have been fitting for some form of discount to be offered but none forthcoming. Experience was even more galling as our party had also spent over £350 in the store on top of lunch. Won't be returning to the restaurant or recommending.

Really gone downhill since the last time we stayed a year ago. This time went for 2 nights. Special offers were sent via email from HQ, which no one seemed to know about. Service was lacking in offering condiments for the meals and the meals themselves appeared to be blasted pre frozen packages. Very little sign of a chefs input and to be honest most pub food nowadays is better so really disappointed. I doubt we'll be going back.
