We chose here for afternoon tea and wow what a great experience. Walking in we were warmly greeted and our coats taken. The decor and ambience were perfect with leather sofas, vintage books and assortments lining the walls. Once settled the server described what was to come. In the meantime, she handled a wooden box explaining we also had access to unlimited tea and coffee during the experience. The box held small pots of tea so you have a whiff before choosing your beverage. To start we had the floral tea in blueberry, then the tray was delivered including tuna wrap, tomato bread with cheese, pastrami, coco bread with coronation egg, chicken sandwich, lavender and lemon cake, chocolate, carrot cake, macaroon, and a scone with clotted cream and jam. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted fabulous. My feedback was my scone was quite dry, crumbly and flat. I also asked for a flat white coffee and strawberry mango tea this was delicious and well made. Overall the service was impeccable, really attentive and the 2 hours was a perfect amount as didn't feel rushed in the slightest. The ambience was perfect too would definitely return .

The woman serving me (Tracy) made a snarky and racist remark about my background, despite being a person of colour herself! very unprofessional of her, i hope she's aware this is not okay despite of what others may have thought of her food. Other than that i have no complains with the food its all decently priced and up to par.

A very underwhelming experience. On a positive the staff were lovely but the food was very dull. I had trouble picking as each dish sounded great. My friend and I chose different dishes so that we could taste more but unfortunately not I dish out of our 5 were special. 1. The Chicken Liver parfait, was nice. 2. The sticky belly bacon was very salty, luckily the puree balances that a little. I could taste any smoked garlic, honey or sesame dukkah spice. 3. The confit of duck was very greasy and tasteless. The prune I expected a little sweetness from the Madeira prune sausage but nothing, the pickled walnut was tasteless. The only good thing about the dish was the duck meat itself was edible. 4. The braise featherblade of beef. slightly better dish, but again nothing distinctive, the chips were probably the best bit. 5. Warm ginger parkin. Well my friend ate it, mainly because the butterscotch sauce was nice. I love Parkin made by my 80 year old church friend. This I couldn't eat. For me it was terrible. The texture made it feel like it wasn't cooked. The open kitchen didn't work for us either. It sends out the wrong lighting and we got fed up with the meat greasy smell coming out too.

Nicely located on Albert Square this is a really nice pub and restaurant that has an awful lot going for it. We called in on a Saturday afternoon and it was ticking over nicely and had a really good atmosphere. The service is always excellent. Friendly, fun and professional and they are happy to recommend different drinks to you. And they have a great range of drinks as well with something for everyone and at reasonable prices for the city centre. We've eaten there before and the food was great but this was just drinks. There were quite a few people in our group who never been before so I'm sure it will become a regular haunt for them from now on.

We were a group of 14 who went for a cheese fondue night to reminisce about past ski trips. The booking process was excellent with quick and informative responses from Sam to help organise everything. The food was very good, the fondues were nice and the bread, salami and (especially) crispy roast potatoes went very well with it. Not sure about the crackers though, we couldn't understand that :-). The atmosphere was warm, buzzy and friendly and the staff brilliant, very attentive and efficient. We had quite a few drinks and spent a very reasonable we thought £31pp incl. tip, great value for central Manchester on a Saturday night. Definitely recommended, thanks guys!
