Nice and charming owner, and good food for it's price. Four stars on food for not-so-fresh oil used.

Nice food, but expensive . Paid £5 for chips and gravy ( medium portion) The gravy was £2! . Can go elsewhere and get larger portion for £3.75...

If you want oven chips, this is your place. It's the first time I have had chips from a chippy that are burnt from being reheated. Poor.

Love it! Just went this place for my visit in UK for few weeks and i have to say that by far this is one of the best fish and chips i have ever had. The batter is perfect and the portion of the meal is big. The atmosphere is nice and the lady there is super friendly. Highly recommend this place.

The best and last traditional fish and chips in manchester

Very unreliable on Uber Eats, advertise as open, then cancel orders particularly at busy times - as they obviously have enough orders locally. You should either be on Uber Eats/Deliveroo or not, you shouldn't pick and choose or mislead by advertising and then rejecting orders. One week they took off all chips and fish on Uber just so they didn't get orders. Please either be on Uber/Deliveroo or not, you really shouldn't pick and choose. As a result of this total unreliability I now order from one of the others Village, Mother Hubbard, Tony's - and have discovered they are all better than this place.

Disappointing choice at 5.30pm. Chips ok, the curry sauce really not very nice. Never again

What can I say, "..Simply the Best.." Amazing Food with great flavor cooked fresh right before your eyes.. The owner is friendly and very bubbly with bags of enthusiasm and pride in her food. Home Style Chunky fresh (not frozen) chips that give this place it's appeal. Loved the "Irish" Curry Sauce, chicken bites. 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was so disappointing!!! Half cooked chips and oily curry sauce meant it was just awful to eat. We ordered £50 worth of fish and chips for a games night, none of the chips came with salt or vinegar even though it was expressly asked for. The chips hadn't been cooked in hot enough oil so they were greasy and soggy. The only saving grace was the battered sausages. They didn't have any large ones so they gave two small ones which were nice and crispy. But honestly. I was so upset with the food. The reviews made this place out to be amazing and we definitely drew a short straw.

What a lovely chippy. Brilliant chips and gravy, salt and pepper quid was to die for. Brilliant customer service from a cheerful bubbly Bajan lady. I will be returning even if she did take the piss out of my cockney palate :)

The owner of this wonderful shop was so lovely and inviting. She was very kind and engaging. The store was very clean, and the star of the show the FOOD was absolutely fantastic, fresh fish cooked perfectly, filling but light and the chips were so fluffy and light. Will definitely be back soon!!!

Great customer service, staff really polite and helpful when offered me a bag to place my smaller shopping bags. Was pleasantly surprised when I got home. Cod was amazing and traditional, haven't tasted fish like that since being a kid! Beautifully presented in a box with a slice of 🍋 keep up the good work guys!!!!!

When to the corner plaice today with our granddaughter we were visiting from Huddersfield the lady is so lovely and her shop is very welcoming we only ordered chips but they were very tasty and plentiful really cheap too the lady even give us a little sample of fish and chicken spot on very nice and tasty Hope your business thrives you deserve it.

Our usual chip shop was closed so we decided to try The Corner Plaice. Well what a great result. The Beautiful lady behind the counter was really nice and cheerful. I ordered the Haddock and chips and it was Fabulous. Nice touch with the music pumping. She also called me an Angel . we will defo return in the very near future 5 stars from me x

Lovely friendly staff. The fish & Chips are really tasty. The manager Tracey in the past mentioned all products are fried separately so peace of mind. Fish isn't oily at all. You do have to specify what fish you want. But overall very polite, fast and efficient staff

Yesterday I ordered from here in the evening and once I got the food it wasn't up to the standard that I was expecting. After speaking to the manager (Tracey) today she was really apologetic and rectified the order with complimentary compensation and really was very much helpful and understanding. The family was very impressed with the service provided by the management team and I was impressed by the quality of the service provided to me today. This is the second time I bought takeaway here. Fish n chips are nice, so as the Hot Chicken Wings. The staff in the shop are really friendly, good place to eat out and great atmosphere there.

Ticks all the boxes (and a bag of chips!) Don’t wanna get too gushy here, however: I blinking love this place! Where else do you pop in for a brew and end up being treated to a bag of chips and the warmest welcome ever! I’ve only been in once, I left feeling like a regular:) And you were right missy, you do make great coffee so remember- never hide your light under a bushel again!

As a Peruvian, I like good taste and warm attention. And I found that in this place. The magnetism, kindness and good vibe that Maya radiates upon entering her premises are unique. The flavour of their chips is incredible and reminded me of the Peruvian "salchipapa" dish. Without a doubt, it is the best Fish and Chips I have found in all of Manchester. If you are Latino, this is a MUST-SEE.

I am so glad I stumbled upon this little gem. I was on my way to the shop the other day to grab something ready made and boring to eat, thinking that nothing will be open these lockdown days, but I was wrong. Ended up with a lovely piece of haddock and chips, fresh and nicely cooked in new oil, served by the proprietor who's a lovely lady welcoming everyone with a big smile and, if you are up for it and not moody, a little chat her and there. Ah, and some lovely tunes every now and then! Highly recommended!

Popped in for what was meant to be a quick bite but i'm very indecisive when it comes to options 😂but the lady made me feel very comfortable. The food was beautiful would very happily return. The staff are amazing it was almost like dinner & show watching these two. Loved it!❤❤

Excellent food and service!! Asda staff directed me to this cafe/fish n chips unit for a place to have breakfast. It was very clean and well presented and i noticed a (very recent) Good Food Winner's award. The lady who owns the take away Tracy really made me feel welcome and tailored my breakfast order. I felt like i was in a 5 star hotel. Tasted so good i almost took the pattern off the plate. Highly recommended and good value!!

The food was amazing (even though I’m not particularly a fish lover) . The lady gave me a free piece of haddock to try. When we got our food , it was hot, salty and obviously delicious (it was served with a slice of lemon instead of vinegar). The staff was very very friendly, they sang while cooking ,so the atmosphere was fantastic! Would 100% recommend!!!

Visitada el 21/03, la señora que atendía era muy amable y educada y estaba feliz de ayudar. El pescado estaba recién preparado y sabía increíble, las patatas fritas también estaban bien. Toda la comida tenía un precio razonable, y definitivamente es el mejor pescado y papas fritas que he probado en Manchester, gracias.

Absolutamente repugnante que la señora que sirve detrás del mostrador se encuentra en la puerta fumando en su delantal. Luego manténgase detrás del mostrador para servir comida, no lavarse las manos ni nada. Ella está entrando y saliendo hablando con el personal del mercado cuando los clientes están esperando para ordenar. Esperamos más de 20 minutos para 3 fish and chips. La comida estaba bien. Pero caro para el tamaño de la posición. Tracy and Debbie gave superb customer service in a thriving area. Chips were the freshest I’ve ever had! Cod was extremely succulent and served with a perfect slice of lemon. Would highly recommend.

Se le dijo que probara la solla de esquina Hulme que hizo el miércoles por la noche. ¿Qué puedo decir de comida y servicio fantásticos y la joven que me sirvió me trató como si estuviera pidiendo en un restaurante de primera clase? Buenos modales y servicio al cliente. La platija de la esquina es una prueba definitiva.

Es un chippy muy limpio y me encantan las opciones de salsa en oferta. El pescado es uno de los mejores que he probado. El chippy más amable en el que he estado.

Este lugar está cerca de nuestro alojamiento, justo al sur de la ciudad, un par de cuadras al este de Princess Avenue. El pescado se prepara mientras espera, y es fresco y caliente cuando se sirve. Las porciones son de buen tamaño y el costo es razonable. Lo mejor de todo es la gente que trabaja allí. Super amable y listo para mantener una conversación sobre cualquier cosa. Wayne y Nicole nos atendieron la mañana que visitamos, y fue una manera realmente maravillosa de comenzar nuestro día.

Fiah and chips Not as good as expected

Had to wait a long time for chips. The portion sizes are really small. This place also has the most random opening times so dont go relying on it been open when ur wanting a bag of chips.

También ha habido días que nos pasa y estado que debería ser abierto y no. . . . El horario de la comida es normalmente muy bueno.

Fui dos veces en junio para pescado y patatas fritas durante una estancia de tres semanas para la investigación en Rusholme. Absolutamente maravilloso. En realidad mejor que tuve en julio en Whitby en famoso chippies. Su comida es preparado fresco, así que hay que esperar, pero vale la pena. Muy establecimiento limpio con una zona de estar. En vez novelly, también sirven tarta. El dueño es muy amable y agradable. No puedo recomendar lo suficiente.

Así que toma un tipo especial de persona. La persona responsable de este lugar es un crédito a la comunidad, ella trae risas, confianza y respeto en algo tan básico como la comida. La comida es fantástica, una de las mejores en el noroeste no importa Manchester. He recomendado nadie va y muestras de las delicias de esta mágica "fish and chips"!

La primera vez que he ido a este establecimiento con mis hijas y me hicieron sentir bienvenidos inmediatamente. Tracey creo que el nombre era mujeres vieron a mis dos hijas y les dio tiempo para recoger lo que querían y les daba buenas porciones. Tuve bistec con patatas fritas budín de riñón y salsa y me dieron una buena porción y la comida era excelente. Teníamos la opción de comer al aire libre o decidimos comer. El establecimiento estaba limpio y no había apresurándose a terminar su comida.

My wife and i have been to this place many times and come back time and time again we love it our kids love it the staff are very friendly always helpful if needed the place it spotless clean the food is amazing the choice of the two graves is hard to make as they are both excellent. all around great place that sells great food and well worth the money

The staff are friendly on every visit and the veggie choices provide a nice option to the all ready nice range of freshly cooked food. Whether you are looking are for a full meal or a light snack you will not be disappointed in their fish and chips. The Corner Plaice is a nice addition to Hulme High street and has filled the open 'chippy' gap well. Think I will head there for some lunch now!
