I chose to have a Sunday dinner here because it was rated on the top 10 best Sunday roast in Manchester. Lovely ambience and staff were lovely. I think I expected it to be amazing but it was just ok, Veggies and gravy were nice but the meat was stringy and cauliflower cheese wasn’t that great at all. Expensive compared to other places for a roast dinner so not somewhere I will return.

Nice bar with lots of seating across many floors - was still super-busy on a Wednesday. Ordered the fish 'n chips - disappointingly a little soggy (both the battered fish, and the chips)

I decided to book here for a Sunday roast for my boyfriend and I, as we were staying in a hotel nearby. All of the reviews said how lovely the food was so we were really looking forward to it We arrived about 5-10mins early and got ourselves a drink by the bar before our table was ready. Once it was, we were shown to our table and our food order was taken. I had the chicken roast, and my boyfriend had the beef, we decided to share a cauliflower cheese also. We didn't have too long to wait before our meals arrived and everything looked so good. As soon as we tucked in, we didn't say a work to each other for the rest of the meal- we didn't want to stop eating! Everything was so gorgeous. We were checked upon by a waiter and we requested some more gravy, which arrived shortly after. The waiter was genuinely really lovely and the food was the best Sunday roast we've had the pleasure to have. We'll make sure to visit again!

Amazing place for a Sunday roast, the food was to die for! Great atmosphere. All staff were amazing but in particular, Keegan (?) was so friendly and attentive. I wouldn’t hesitate to take my friends and family here.

Intimate modern pub with a good selection of draught beers. The smash burger is good and the staff friendly. Great music playing too.

Really lovely breakfast, orange juice and mug of breakfast tea, teabag left in! Yay! Only thing is I don't like streaky bacon.

I’d organised a meeting here with up to 18 work colleagues from about 5.30pm but got here 4.15 with a friend, we ordered a couple of drinks in the downstairs bar and decided to explore the other two floors, there’s a small open air seating area on the next floor and a nice big room with a well stocked bar. After 6 I was glad to see another 4 work mates arrive and we all had some food, me just triple cooked chips which although tasty were a bit greasy for my liking but I heard the burgers were delicious. There’s a happy hour from 4-9 but this didn’t include bottles just cocktails and pints but it’s a very good deal for the city centre. TROF is nice, bare wooden floors, bare brick walls and friendly staff, it’s hard to stand out from the endless bars on Thomas St but TROF does a very good job. I’m sure it gets hammered after 8 on weekends. I’ll definitely be back.

Decided to catch up with my wife for a late Saturday afternoon drink and bite to eat. Thought we would try the NQ as we rarely go to that end of town. Trof was our choice and they did not disappoint. The wine recommendation was spot on, we had some lovely starters, a salad main for my wife and the fish and chips with side curry sauce for me. All cooked to perfection. My only criticism was that I would have loved the curry to be a little more spicy but that is personal preference. Jacob our server was very friendly and helpful as were the rest of the staff.

Food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal. Portion sizes are so generous for the price, coffee was PERFECT, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Try the french toast!! We are tourists in Manchester and we couldn't have found a better spot in this lovely city. Our server Jacob was very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a brunch spot!

After spending ages seeking a dog friendly restaurant in Manchester, we found Trof. It was very busy but we were soon seated and being served by Megan. Megan was very friendly and efficient and we had our drinks in no time! A good by the glass wine list, well stocked bar and great menu. We both had the steak frites which was done to pink perfection. Crisp frites and a delicious leaf salad with orange dressing that really complemented the tender steak. Everything was perfectly seasoned; delicious. Oscar our Cockerpoo cross, happily sat under the table but enjoyed an ear tickle from Megan. Lovely little venue. Truly dog friendly (we were not the only dog in the bar) and very welcoming. Thanks Megan!

They recommended it to us for their Sunday Roast, which they cook with the typical bread called Yorkshire pudding. Highly recommend this puffed bread. However, I have given the food a low rating because the ox, the roast beef, was not of excellent quality. For my taste, it was meaty. I'm not much of a meat person but I love a good roast beef, and this was not the case. For the rest, all good!

Had fish and chips here it was the most discusting plate of fish and chip the chips were soggy and a discusting colour and the piece of fish was unbelievable first it looked incredably over cooked the batter was like cardboard and when cut into there was no fish I have eaten in restaurants all over the world and this was decently the worst meal I have ever eaten any where DISTCUSTING

We just had a quick beer and snack (courgette fritti) but everything was on point, bonus points for the amazing treatment to our dog 🐶

Lovely spot, absolutely brilliant staff couldn't have been more attentive or helpful. Food was great and will happily go back to try it in the evening and some cocktails.

One of the best English breakfasts I’ve ever had.

I haven’t been to this eatery for a long time. When friends have suggested to go to Trof for Sunday lunch because reviews were not bad, we went. Service staff and atmosphere were friendly and nice, sadly I can’t say the same with the food! We all agreed that the gravy was very salty, and it wasn’t served in a jug, it was poured over the roast potatoes, vegetables as well as the meats, it has made the crispy potatoes soggy and the belly pork skin wet and chewy, we thought it was bacon wrapped round the meat! The waitress was very kind to replace it with a fresh piece of pork with the crackling. Sadly, the meat was totally dry and tasteless. I have to say that it was the worst Sunday lunch I have had.

Excellent place to eat and drink at a very reasonable price. Service is excellent.

Roast leather anyone?? New chef clearly is more used to making jackets and shoes than he is cooking beef. Our whole table was given a refund because the food was inedible. The poor waiting staff! Devastated, one of the best spots for a roast in manchester has died. The skills in the kitchen belong in mcdonalds, genuinely sad for the owners.

4 of us came for a roast dinner on Sunday. The place has a homely casual atmosphere and was very busy, a little on the loud side as tables close together. Service was attentive and friendly and the food was very good quality, (all meat from littlewoods butchers) great tasting and a generous portion. Could have been a little hotter but waitress bought over fresh hot gravy when asked. All in all good experience and one of the better roast dinners in MCR

Staff are extremely rude, not a nice bar anymore.

Wanted somewhere that did coffee and cake and also a Guinness and the Trof delivered. Friendly and quick service, delicious sticky toffee pudding and a decent coffee.The pour on the Guinness was perfect too!

I was taken to Trof by my son and daughter to celebrate Mother's Day today. The service was excellent, and the roast beef dinner was amazing!! 😋 Thank you so much to the chefs and the serving staff, for making it a memorable day. 😁🥰

Food was very tasty and with decent portions. Only missed one star as the veg was a bit hard. Not surprising as they were very busy. Water for the table was not refilled. But on the whole, really solid Sunday roast for the price.

People were nice, service was good. Didn't eat just coffee but I was baffled the whole time there.... There are tables set up either side of the door. I can't imagine how horrific it would be to sit next to the door when it's busy. I would have gotten up and left if I had to sit there.

Great little breakfast brunch place for our visit , clean and modern with an industrial feel, friendly team and dog friendly. Lovely produce with home taste feeling with a chefs touch very well presented and pay for its worth A+

Amazing confit duck hash,topped with a crispy coated runny egg. Definitely recommend the foccacia to go with it. Lovely atmosphere, great staff, dog friendly too!!

I saw this place online and I am so glad we went for our first brunch in Manchester. We sat down around 9 a.m. and it was not busy, but it does start getting much busier around 10 or 11 so keep in mind. The food was delicious and so was my latte. Our waitress was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. Definitely a place to visit in manchester if you like cafe spots.

A bit flaky with closing times. They let us buy drinks and then said they were closing in 15 minutes (30 minutes before the advertised closing time)

Food gets better every time!!! -There is not a single dish on the menu that isn't sensational. Also; the team are just the most glorious, welcoming, attentive and lovely bunch!

Called in for NYE Sunday lunch. Was very busy but luckily booked ahead. Great location. Good atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Food was great we will definitely be back. Service was good to say it was busy. Couple of families in too so nice place for them. Quite oldy worldy inside bit was nice.

Great little bar spread across a couple of floors. The Trof lager was class. They do have a great selection of drafts, bottles and spirits. Reasonably priced as well.

Popped in for breakfast and definitely wasn't disappointed, the food was incredible and the staff friendly and welcoming. Many tables were reserved but because of the time we arrived, there were still a few available. Really glad we gave it an impromptu visit as it was a superb place for breakfast.

This bar is one of the nicest in NQ in my option, very welcoming and cosy. Nice selection of beers and the bar has 3 floors (unfortunately the toilets are on the top floor though) This bar is a very lively night spot too. 👍

Really surprised. Great friendly service and excellent food. We had the double cheese burger which seems to be a popular choice. Proper meaty burger that had not been minced to death.
