The best restaurants serving British food in Bolton North West

amazing service from amina who served us at our visit to haute dolci. she was very friendly and customer service was 10/10 as well as the food. she even gave us a vanilla tea on the house. definitely recommend.

Very disappointed, I've eaten at both Nick's restaurants before and had a lovely experience, on arrival the table wasn't ready so didn't get seated until 9pm. Service was very slow, and had to keep trying to catch a servers eye, even then they didn't come back with what we asked for. I had muscle's for my starter and chicken for my main, chicken was very dry. The music was too loud and we asked for it to be turned down, the table stand was dirty. To top it all the next day I was ill, and had to attend the doctor's who felt I had food poisoning from the muscles. It didn't feel like a personal experience as it did with his other restaurants.

Is Cafe Italia under new ownership? We went today and didn't recognise any of the usual staff. Nobody greeted us at the door although staff were hanging round. I then asked if we could sit anywhere to which a guy said "yea, anywhere". We sat there a good while before anyone attended to us. A guy who I think was "the main man" was busy chatting and two waitresses just stood there. Eventually we ordered our usual, a shared pizza, chips and salad. The pizza hardly had any cheese on and was soggy and greasy in the centre and the lettuce in the salad was limp and had started to yellow. The chips were OK. The guy at the next table sent his meal back as it was luke warm. It arrived back, presumably warmed up, but a few minutes later he called the waitress and told her it was not what he had ordered. It was spaghetti and was supposed to have sausage and tomatoes in it but apparently had neither. The 2 waitresses were dour with no smiles for anyone as was the 'main man" not sure whether the restaurant has been taken over or whether it was just "Monday staff". I won't be returning in a hurry.

My son’s wedding reception was held here on Friday 22/11/24 and it was great. Debbie and Kira couldn’t have been anymore helpful.

I've been here for 12 years and this place hase never disappointed me the beer is amazing and the inside is a pretty place keep up the good work 👏 🙌

Carrs Pasties Middlebrook is a regular port of call for me primarily for restocking my freezer I prefer the un baked pasties and sausages rolls but just can’t resist a nice hot pasty and a cream cake when I visit the store. The staff all seem happy to be there and are very helpful and always up for a bit of a laugh it’s great quality food and a friendly shopping experience

the mayonesse tasted like home made. very nice chips and was busy. husband enjoyed his pizza. staff very nice. would go again. went for a vape and the door stuck i have ms and found that hard to open.

I have never had dissapointing food from here. It can get busy at lunchtime but its so worth the wait. I have been going on and off for years. This place doubles the house prices of the entire village

Picked out as being near at the time . Parking was initially an issue but then found a car park to the rear. Lovely owner and great food inc the coffee that I can be fussy about!

I visit here a couple of times a month as I’m often passing through Bolton. I usually order the Plaice special, which is always excellent. Chips and peas are always fantastic. The service and the restaurant itself is on another level, real old school attentive service. Always a fantastic experience.

Good little spot, nice cafe with a good selection of fresh hot sandwiches. Clean and tidy with quirky decor, staff friendly. Will definitely recommend this.

Awesome food and awesome service. We were really impressed with the food. We have been here for a drink a few times but never had something to eat so I am so glad I tried it. Really tasty food, lots of choice. Good service and reasonable prices. Definitely visiting again

Had a bit of a queue which was a good sign. Freshly cooked lightly battered fish and nice chips and got meat pudding, gravy and chips too and it was all tasty.

Great place lovely staff food was great and enjoyed every bit of it great prices for the food you get and have a excellent time there
