Always good we are regulars I love that they serve food on hot plates. Great menu, love their Pizzas.. wonderful desserts too. Highly recommend, book first as very popular for all the right reasons !

Food Presentation and taste was amazing. Plenty of staff available so your not waiting around. Very attentive. Lovely setting.

Went for lunch on a bank holiday monday with my daughter and really enjoyed. I had a most delicious seafood pizza with all types of shellfish and squid on. Crust was thin and crispy and topping was excellent with plentiful shellfish, For desert i had a very tasty portion of tiramisu. First time we have eaten here but won't be the last

Lovely atmosphere and dinner on the terrace on a nice Saturday evening in May. Food was delicious and service great. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

We have tried this place a few times since relocating back to Bolton. It has been our ‘go to’ for an authentic and reliable 'cheap and cheerful' Italian trattoria. We do not pre-book a table, preferring to drive by around lunchtime, to see if there are parking spaces within easy walking distance (we would eat here far more often if the parking was better, hence deducting 1 star). It has a lively, but casual vibe. The portions are generous, so most of the time we skip the starters. I tend to order my favourite pizza (thin, crispy base – proper Neapolitan style). Hubby usually opts for the spaghetti vongole (decent ratio of shellfish to pasta), or one of the fish specials. It is really difficult to resist the cannoli selection for a sweet finish. Decent draught lager and okay wine. All the staff have been here for years and they are all lovely. Good value for money. Child friendly. Outdoor summer terrace.

Once again at Cafeitalia bolton rang and booked a table an hour before greeted with a smile shown to table drink’s waiter order taken time peruse the special’s board and full choice menu,starter tomato soup, main rack of lamb,tomato soup awesome nothing like shop bought ,rack of lamb cooked as ordered brill ,bier moretti bottle house merlot,full range of deserts but too full,the restaurant became quite busy great atmosphere will be defo going again full praise for all the staff chefs manager. I like Cafe Italia I like the food, the staff are great,however on this occasion I didn't enjoy watching a young member of staff be belittled by the owner. Instead of shouting and swearing. Calmly, tell them what they did wrong . Teach them, or they won't learn by their mistakes. I wasn't the only customer to have witnessed this it didn't look good. I will be back and I hope this young girl wasn't too upset.

This restaurant is friendly and has a lovely terrace in the summer. It used to have great food too but the food was awful. My pasta was dry and tasteless, the calamari was dry and bland. Needs to improve drastically - won’t be back.

We had been here about 20 years ago and had enjoyed the experience, so when it came up as a recent recommendation we decided to give it another try. We found it extremely busy. The staff efficient and friendly and the food excellent. We probably won’t wait another 20 years.

What a lovely business. Staff are extremely attentive. Special shoutouts to macie who on multiple occasions came and checked on our table asking if we needed drinks and that our food was okay. ALL of the staff are extremely welcoming , the minute you enter to the minute you leave. Special shoutouts to the people in the kitchen and the bar staff they are ALL lovely and their food is amazing. Cannot recommend this business enough. Love coming back each time we come. Thank you

We visited as a family for lunch . Lunch time there are select pizza and pasta for £8.50 , I had the piece of lasagne which I enjoyed but my mum was not impressed with the cannelloni and said the taste was strong . She was disappointed , also finding the room Noisy .

We go to this restaurant frequently both as a couple and with our wider family. The service is excellent and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The food kid excellent and just as good as the food you can get in Italy. Also very good value for money and child friendly. Just a really great atmosphere with great food and a good selection of beers and wines to choose from

Visited Cafe Italia this evening to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. We arrived at what can only be described as "a bear garden" The noise was indescribable, mainly coming from a party of about 12 people on a very long table in the centre of the room. It was horrific. Service was good and meals were mediocre. My daughter ordered penne with Italian sausage which she couldn't eat. The sausage looked liked regurgitated dog meat which, when she tried it, said it tasted like ordinary Cumberland sausage meat. The saviour of the evening was the Magician who performed some amazing tricks while we waited for the meals to arrive. I don't think I shall be frequenting this restaurant again, or should I say "bear garden"

The authenticity of this place is as it ought to be, real! The staff are so welcoming and sincere. Great menu, basic but fabulous

I've never had a bad meal here, but was disappointed today. The garlic bread wasn't as good as it usually is and both pasta dishes (carbonara and primavera) were tasteless. I don't know what the issue was as its normally really good. Hopefully it was a one off.

Our lovely managers had organised a baby shower for our expectant colleague. The choice of sandwiches/fillings was amazing, so much choice for everyone. The cakes (many choices) arrived, we are spoiled for choice. Service, food at the rear of the restaurant was the best. Cannot wait to return for another afternoon tea. 👍☺️

Absolutely first class service, lovely people and great food. Always stick to basic Italian pasta dishes, always excellent and the desserts are stunningly good.

This place is an amazing family run restaurant and never fails to please. The staff are amazing and the food outstanding. I had the salmon special served in a delicious sauce and perfectly cooked vegetables. The restaurant was extremely busy yet our food was served quickly and efficiently. Can’t wait to return 😋

This is a favourite haunt and today we brought some family. The dishes on the specials board change regularly and today two of us enjoyed chicken thighs in a spicy tomato sauce. This was marinated for days and cooked for hours. The love of flavour showed through! Staff cannot do enough for you here - come and try it !

We all went for a friends Birthday party, we arrived at around 6.30 - 6.45pm and by nearly 8 pm we had still not had any starters:- garlic breads ect and when my daughter complained and said that my grandchildren were very hungry and had not received any food after ordering over 1/2 hr earlier the manager decided to go off on one and tell her that he didn't care about the children not eating to which she took the kids and stormed out.By about 8.25pm our garlic bread starter came and was still like raw dough but the worst was when my wifes lasagne came it was stone cold inside and she sent it back. it was at this point that i found out what the manager said to my daughter and we decided to leave without receiving any food by 8.45pm. i have never received such bad service at any restaraunt before and would not recommend this place to anyone when its busy, People may think that i am not being truthful but there were 27 in our party and most of those people were complaining also.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR Arrived at 6.45 still no sign of food at 8pm . I was really worried my children hadn't eaten by this time and was starving . I was then screamed at by the owner for him to tell me he doesn't care about my children and me . If I owned a restaurant I would definitely not be speaking to my customers like that. McDonald's across the road had better service. In the end I had to walk out and other family members by 8.30 still hadn't received there food. I will never be returning again .

I had a voucher for afternoon tea that I’ve been struggling to use due to COVID and shielding. I decided to use it for a takeaway.We had it today and it was lovely. It’s very different to the traditional version and that makes it special. It’s one sandwich using flatbread and your choice of filling. There’s a mini pizza and a small bruschetta. The sweet consists of a cherry scone with jam, a profiterole and a small cake. I was even offered coffee to take out. I will certainly be having afternoon tea from here again.

Do come here quite a lot since new owners took over a few years ago but did not recognise any to the Staff there today so very impressed at the welcome I received. Being a retired, disabled, Widow, eating alone can be quite an ordeal. Having been isolated for months I decided to go and have a meal here to cheer myself up. Felt very safe here, constant sanitising going on and masks worn by all the Staff. One of the pleasures of going to an Italian eatery like this with great food and caring Staff is the really unnecessary use of the pepper grinder by the handsome young Staff (I always think that Chefs are the best choice when it comes to seasoning). Well, thanks Boris, it seems you have banned that too. I did complain and the Staff humorously said they could do what they could with an empty one!!! I had the veal at this cafe after a dental appointment. It was really nice but even when it was covered in peppercorn sauce and ground up black pepper. It was still a bit dry. But i would still recommend this restaurant because it had great service and the staff were polite. I had tiramisu for dessert but it wont let me add more than 1 photo. 10/10

Just before lockdown last weekend we had yet another great meal with fabulous service.I have read another review condemning the Covid 19 policies and that certainly wasn’t our experience. Yes there were kids in there but it’s a family restaurant, that’s what happens, they weren’t badly behaved and certainly not worthy of the vicious review the anonymous!!!!! Person left.The waiters and waitresses were just as attentive and friendly as normal the food was fabulousThis restaurant has just gone through the toughest 3 months any business will probably ever go through and to leave a review as vicious and vindictively as this as well as leaving the review anonymously is nothing short of cowardly.What sort of person are you!Keep going Café Italia we love your food and your customer attention. If you are looking for a nice family meal out and don’t want to worry about covid then this is not the place for you. Screaming kids running around the place and waiters going from table to table hugging and touching different clients. It’s a shame as I used to love going here, the food is great but they do not care about anyone’s safety, more that their own family members enjoy themselves. This is said on the basis that the last two times I have been, family members of the owners have been in and have been allowed to run riot.

I’ve visited this place many times now and it’s consistently good. The menu isn’t too big but the choice is varied and the food is always fresh and flavourful. They cater well for children as well as couples and parties and the staff are always professional and friendly. One of our favourite local restaurants.

I have eaten in many Italian restaurants all over the world and this one is a little gem - Fantastic service from the owner and his team, food was just amazing and authentic and the special peroni beer is to die for. A little piece of Italy in Bolton and I will definitely be there next week before I go back to Spain - Spettacolare!

The food is always good here but is spoiled by the noise levels. The music doesn't help as people then have to raise their voices to try to be heard.

Me and my girlfriend came here to take advantage of the eat out to help out scheme. The place was rather busy, however I felt that the staff were attentive and served us at the right times without us waiting around. The food was much bigger than expected and I found that we ordered a little to much as we were expecting the starters to be smaller. Great value and a great experience

I've loved this place since it opened. Never had bad food or service. Staff have always been great with the kids which means the world to any parent. Nothing better than sitting on the balcony when the weather is nice.

Great to get back here - we had the trio of bruschetta and olives - Yum .I love the Spaghetti here - the arrabiatta is TOP in terms of taste .My Wife had the Sunday Roast and enjoyed it very much . I finished with Cheescake which was nice and light and different from the run of the mill cheescake with a biscuit base - this had a sponge/pastry base . I believe the chefs are Italian from Naples and Palermo so i know im getting an authentic deal .The Manager is a Napoletan too and very friendly and is obviously a people person. We had takeaway during lock down and were impressed with the authenticity and quality of the food. After lockdown we have been for a family meal and the standard was again superb. Social distancing is excellent. Staff PPE is of the highest standard. Quality of food is excellent. Book to avoid disappointment.

Take away pizzas mid week. They tasted good but I had stomach ache for hours afterwards and another of our group was ill through the night. I also noticed that on the two occasions that we've had pizza from here I've had a raging thirst throughout the night which tells me that it's over salted to bring out the flavour. Average pizza at best

Visited for lunch today for the first time, and by far the best pizza i have had outside of Italy. Thank you to Vito and the team for the hospitality, and don’t forget to try their nutella iced coffee!

Really nice place inside- bright and airy. Felt completely safe with big distance between tables,hand sanitizer,disposable menus and staff all in ppe. Perfect example of a business putting safety first- and as my first meal out,i felt completely reassured. Onto the food- really delicious!! Friendly staff and a nice outside area to top it off means i'll definately be back!

We ordered a takeaway through just eat tonight. We ordered calzone al forno and payed an extra 50p for chilli which we didn’t receive. The pizza barely had any of the listed fillings other than a mountain of ricotta cheese. The chips and pizza were both practically cold on arrival so we had to reheat in the oven. We also ordered dessert of profiteroles and tiramisu at £4 each, we received only two profiteroles as a portion and a tiramisu which tasted nice but was still frozen in the middle. I don’t usually leave reviews but I’m really disappointed with the standard of food received tonight. My partner and I and our families eat here quite regularly but we will not be ordering take away again! Very disappointed overall.

We were excited to use Cafe Italia last night as a special delivery to home. Unfortunately, the mains were ok but the desserts were poor. My Lemon Meringue had a chocolate base which meant that I couldn't eat it. Didn't expect that. Won't be using again.

I was really pleased to learn recently that they were doing take aways so I got some pizzas today which were superb especially the house special Napoli pizza! I phoned in about 3.30 pm and collected my order at 5.45pm. A quick and efficient collection fully complying with current regulations and the food was piping hot and fresh. I would encourage anybody to use the take away service here to support this excellent restaurant in difficult times. You will not be dis appointed

During the lockdown it was my Mum’s 81st birthday. As we could not be with her (I live outside the UK), I asked Cafe Italia to help deliver a birthday meal for her. They were fantastic and arranged it all at the last minute for me. So she got her birthday dinner and really enjoyed it!!! Great service!!!

This is a fabulous restaurant. Very good service and the food is brilliant. Really very good indeed. We have had breakfast in the past which has been superb value but last night we tried their dinner service. The restaurant is popular and deserves to be. It has a great vibe. Sadly didn’t have enough room for desserts which also looked stunning. Will defiantly go again.

In Bolton to visit elderly mother who lives nearby. Booked a table as she is in a wheelchair and this was in walking distance. Place was very busy at 6pm but waiter was very helpful in accommodating us. The food was sensational and authentic, honestly the best italian food I've had outside Italy. They were happy to give mum a smaller portion and charged accordingly. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Isn't it great when you find a brilliant restaurant when you're least expecting it.

Will be back. Really enjoyed a late breakfast on Sunday, produce & cooking spot on. Prices reasonable and the staff are lovely.
