Lovely, well designed and clearly recently refurbished to a modern and high level hotel. Friendly staff and properly dog friendly. Food for dinner and breakfast was excellent. More thought and variety for vegetarian options would be welcomed. Room No. 9 was good but there wasnāt a full sized wardrobe and our sleep was badly interrupted by water dripping from the ceiling through the fire alarm in the middle of the night; dripped a good 3 hours. This was reported the following morning and the manager did apologise which is appreciated.

OMG, this restaurant just never ever disappoints, fantastic food and beautifully presented, full of flavours and colour. Staff are wonderful, polite and attentive throughout. Sunday lunch is superb and plentiful, amazing cheese board with fab choice. Highly recommended as you will not be disappointed.

Pre ordered 13 Christmas Pies for collection at 12 today. Was there on time to pick up and told not ready. Offered cold ones. Refused and were told they would drop some hot ones off at place of work in 20 mins. Turned up at 1.15. What is the point of pre ordering. If you can't supply the service please don't take the order.

Booked a breakfast to re 9 of us and because of the size of the party had to pre order. Arrives and seated on time by friendly staff. Eventually got to us to take drinks order which then took an age to arrive. Considering they knew we were coming and what we were eating the food took an hour to arrive. The food was well below standard. English muffins not toasted before avocado put on and cold bacon. Dense, stodgy and horrible. The eggs were fine though. Scottish breakfast had clearly been left in the pass for some considerable time. Dry and tasteless, tattle scone so dry and haggis had no taste and was like sawdust. Bacon a shrivelled dry slice that broke up with a fork which made it difficult to eat. The taste was even worse so left it. All 9 of us were left disappointed. So I donāt recommend and I wonāt be going back. Woeful.

An unexpected find, tucked away in the village. Excellent value food & drink. Quirky interior with posh toilets & friendly owner. Will be back.

After booking a specific table, 2 weeks in advance for Fatherās Day lunch. We were shown to the worst table by the coffee machine and till. It transpired that another family had sat in our originally table and their name was on the one by the till. The staff tried to make out there had been a mix up etc, which was rubbish. It was extremely disappointing as instead of hearing lovely Lynne singing , I could only hear the coffee machine and till in my ear. Clearly there is no point trying to book a specific table well in advance, as the staff are incompetent at managing the correct bookings. Needless to say we will not be rushing back which is a great shame as we have enjoyed dining there previously and my father used to be a regular.

The hospality was first class, we were the only people having dinner but donāt let this put you off. Very quirky place but that is the beauty of the place. Good size portions the ravioli was tasty but pasta too thick making it tough the broth with it was very tasty but the addition of finely diced vegetables would be great. Smoked salmon roll first class. We had a chicken and a chuck steak I like my steak medium rare just as well as they donāt ask you. Sticky toffee pudding first rate as is the ice cream. Good coffee and wines.

Every time I come into this cafe the price for the same order is always different. The women who runs it seems to just charge you what she decides on the day. Itās overpriced and the food isnāt all that. On one occasion there was actually a hair in my tuna sandwich which she tried to justify saying it was a fluff fibre?? When I insisted it was a hair (because it was) the women then turned rude towards me. I didnāt have time to wait for another sandwich and requested my money back to which she threw it on the counter and sighed at me!! :/ nothing like good customer service Ay.. all in all I no longer work in the area and thankfully i will not be visiting here again :)

In need of a major makeover and the food although cooked fresh was very bland and the chips dripping in grease and the 'cod' batter was undercooked and no where near crisp - very disappointed in every aspect unfortunately

We had dinner at the Railway Inn last Wednesday night, and from the minute we walked in the door we had a lovely experience. The owner, Colin, gave us a warm welcome, and he was the perfect host throughout the evening. The pub/restaurant is clean and modern, with a warm and cozy feel. The menu has a good selection of homely meals, something for everyone, all cooked by Hazel, Colinās wife. Our meals were very tasty, my husband and I had the chicken with black pudding, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The quantity of food was just right, and it was served at the right temperature. The whole evening was very good value for money. We had a really enjoyable night and will go back when we are next in the area.
