The menu, offering and team at Number 46 in Chester are second to none. Whether it is for a regular sandwich or soup & sandwich or whether it is for a business lunch including pre ordered buffet, the quality of the food and presentation is fantastic. As well as regular takeaway sandwich and occasional sit down lunches, I use Number 46 for business buffets when we have clients visiting or team days. They have never disappointed. Thanks Team 46.

Had a lovely omelette in here last week and my mum had poached eggs on toast, we absolutely loved the food and the take out/eat in sandwiches looked incredible. I personally didnt like that it was dog friendly inside due to my allergies and a gentleman walked in letting his dog sniff at me as he had the lead too long and was totally oblivious his dog had wound its way to me and was at my legs which made me uncomfortable. However this is no reflection on the absolutely fabulous food and service and I wouldn't hesitate to get a take out from here to take down to the river in the summer, it's a testament to how delicious their take outs are as the local businesses were in and out picking up orders the entire time we were there. I've never seen this cafe before and dound it walking up from my physio on lower bridge st. Can't wait to try the sandwich wrap specials!

Looking for somewhere on Lower Bridge Street, close to our hotel as another wet and cold February day. TA guided us here. Small café and only inside tables, as out of season, but we found a table and shared a really tasty ciabatta with hot drinks. Freshly made and good quality ingredients. Reasonably priced and recommended.

Check your orders before leaving if you're ordering more than 2 sandwiches - always multiple items missing (No Black Pudding on a Bacon and BP Sandwich / No Egg on a Sausage and Egg Sandwich) - toast always overdone. Usually tasty but becoming more and more reluctant to order from there.

Called at restaurant forty six to celebrate a family event. The food we had was a glorious combination of flavours and textures, probably some of the best food we’ve eaten. All six dishes we had were really professionally presented and bursting with flavour.Combine this with a lovely atmosphere and great service and it is a venue we’ll definitely be returning to.

This little cafe is right by a tour bus stop. We went in for a coffee because we were there too early . On the way back we went in again for lunch. I'm very shocked with the review below. I have never come here and been made to feel not welcome by any of the staff. Clearly this person must of come in and sat down without anyone realising and not given anyone eye contact his/herself or made it obvious they were there. I'm sure if this person had of acknowledged a member of staff he/she would of been made to feel very welcome. It all sounds like human error to me and a 1 star review seems a bit unreasonable..... Anyway...I visit forty six regularly, the staff are always nothing but very welcoming. This place gets really busy at lunch times, the staff also deal with a lot of phone orders. Even when this place seems quiet the staff at forty six have lots going on in the background that us customers are often unaware about. You must try the forty six wrap, it's stunning. The prices are very cheap for what you get, but don't be put of as the food is delicious and well worth more then what you pay. £4.95 for a breakfast and a tea/coffee..... very reasonable for what you get.Keep up the good work forty six!I will be back very soon for a forty six wrap, yum!

Went for breakfast with my fiancée after checking out of our hotel. The lady behind the counter was very welcoming. We ordered two 46 breakfasts, essentially a big breakfast 2x everything. Paid about £10 for both and they came with a drink. Very reasonable for what we got. The food came out quickly and it was perfect. The eggs were runny but not gooey, bacon crispy but not burnt. The best things though were probably the toast (never had toast like it) and the black pudding, which tasted like it had a hint of mint in it. It just worked. I am staying at BW for work and booked dinner at Hilltops on my first night. I was initially nervous that there didn't appear to be anything suitable for vegans on the menu, but I double checked with the receptionist, who was very helpful and communicated my request to the restaurant. This was a short-notice request, so I was not expecting much, but the chefs went above and beyond. The tofu & veg curry was really tasty, and the choc fudge cake was delicious. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting, but the team prepared the leftovers for me to take to my room and eat later. Thank you to the talented kitchen team and wonderful front of house team at Hilltops!

We were visiting the Anderton Boat Lift which is just 10 minutes down the towpath from The Moorings. As the coffee shop there was quite full after the boat trip we decided to try somewhere else close by. The Moorings is a little gem of a place, run by chefs, so expect hotel like presentation of excellent food, which is worth waiting for. This is a totally different dining experience from the usual canal side cafe. Dogs are allowed inside on the hard floor area, but we sat outside with ours as it was a beautiful day and we could admire the canal boats in the marina.
