Visited as group of 4, food was great all round, good for steak lovers. The service was the best I’ve had in a long time, with everyone we interacted with friendly and attentive. I was particularly happy with how much attention they paid to my food allergy which is unfortunately rare! Everyone who served us was aware and was sure to double check everything. Highly recommended a visit

We had a fantastic night out celebrating a friends 40th Birthday, a group of 8 of us had drinks and food during our visit. The food was on-point and everything you would expect from a restaurant of this calibre and the vibe was sophisticated and relaxed. Some of the flavours of the food were some of the best I have sampled in Chester and the after dinner cocktails were delicious. The owner spent time talking to us regarding the venue and you can see the passion he has for his business, I can only see this place getting better and better. We will be back!

By far the best place in Chester!! Came in as part of a large group and the service from the start was exceptional! The team looked after us and made us all feel extremely welcome. The food was out of this world, highly recommend the steak. The restaurant itself is really great too, great atmosphere and reasonably priced. They even had some very good veggie and gluten free options. I can't recommend this place enough!

Came here for a friends surprise 30th birthday lunch - completely blown away by the huge effort the staff made to make everything as special as possible, definitely exceeded all expectations. We went in looking for classic British food and landed on the shepherds pie and couldn’t have been happier with the result. It came out piping hot with a delicious gravy, and at our white person’s suggestion, we got the miso glaze carrots on the side. She was spot on with her recommendation!

Date night dinner. The service and food was wonderful! We enjoyed 3 courses of fine dining. Live pianist playing as we ate was a great experience. Try the Rasberry and lemon posset and thank me later....

We loved everything about this restaurant. The food was wonderful- oysters, scallops, hake and the magnificent shepherds pie. The French 75 cocktail was perfect. The music was good and at the right volume and the welcome and attention given by Matthew and his team was really appreciated. When we come back to Chester we will definitely be coming back to Six One Six.

We loved everything about this restaurant. The staff were polite and friendly, the service was second to none, and the food exceptional, one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. There was also a piano man playing in the background which gave a lovely atmosphere. I recommend having the filet of Seabass with a side of the Miso Carrots that our waiter recommended to try. When it comes to desserts we are quite fussy but wow the peanut butter cheesecake and lemon posset was outstanding! We will 110% be returning and recommending this beautiful restaurant to family and friends.

First time in Chester and booked Six One Six based on the reviews and loved the fact it was independent. I can honestly say it was the best roast dinner I’ve had in forever! We both had the beef, I do not know how they make the red wine just but it’s unreal. Ordered cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets as sides and then we shared a dessert. We had the peanut butter cheese cake, recommended to us by the waitress and she wasn’t wrong it was unreal. They make them fresh and they had been made that morning. Service was great and the decor is divine and cosy. They had a live singer on and I was delighted at how good he was. Will definitely be back when we are next in Chester.

Came here for Father’s Day, food was lovely for 2 out of the 3 adults, one was small compared to others & fatty (pics attached)….service was very very poor. One hour 10 minutes after ordering we received our food - lamb roast. Once we received our lunch we asked for mint sauce to be told they had run out, another lady over heard and went the shop to buy some, not sure why they waited until they ran out to do this & not go before? We did not wait for her to return as we had waited long enough. Next course desert, ran out of three deserts which was also disappointing. Some of our party went with what was advertised as a warm chocolate brownie with hot chocolate sauce, nothing warm or hot on any plate… we also had to ask for spoons to eat with we were not give cutlery. On leaving the manager asked how it went so game him some feedback & told me he would reach out to me the following day…. Still waiting! Very very poor service such a shame when celebrating a special day.

Great steak and fantastic table service. Our early business meeting-dinner on a Thursday found us at 6-1-6. Placed next to the till/service area it was thankfully not busy enough to be interpruptive. The tables foenthebevening had been allocated to the same area for ease of service (which does demonstrate good planning!) Although at 7pm the restaurant was very empty by 8.30 it had picked up as did the atmosphere. The service was very good and had an excellent balance between courses, the serving staff were all very friendly. Gratuity of 10% is built into the bill , and thankfully it was worth it. The food was lovely, each of the party had a starter, although I would not recommend the scallops -the portions are minuscule. However, the Squid was divine! The main: Each item is charged for separately and is served in its own vessel, the pricing for these sides I felt was exceptionally over priced..£4.5+ for two braised carrots was a bit over the top; but all sides were in this price range. The creamed spinach was lovely and there was enough for a good 2servings. The steaks were all wonderfully prepared and the cuts were well presented. It was a lovely evening, although a bit too expensive for my taste on a regular basis - but it does align with the expected Chester dining experience. A bill of £250 which included only 1x small wine and 1x prosecco , 3x lemonades 4xstarters; 4xmains and sides, 4xdesserts ..was a little overpriced. Overall the restaurant is very relaxed and sophisticated.

Went for Sunday lunch with two friends . We had beef and lamb roast dinner with sides of carrot's,broccoli and cauliflower cheese.The meal, every single part was outstanding . Live singer and friendly smiling staff(rare these days ) made our day . 616 is up there with the best meal we have ever had . Thankyou worth every penny and more x

BEAUTIFUL, CLASSY BAR THAT WELCOMED IN 4 HUNGRY PEOPLE WITHOUT A RESERVATION! WE REALLY DID NOT HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS, BUT WHAT A SURPRISE TO BE SERVED PERFECTLY COOKED FISH, DELICIOUS COCKTAILS, SMILING STAFF AND A RELAXED AMBIENCE. CLEAN. THE OWNER CAME TO OUR TABLE FOR A CHAT AND GAVE US SOME BACKGROUND. VERY GOOD CHEFS INDEED. WILL EAT HERE AGAIN.

Extremely disappointed with the food! Raw/uncooked eggs for the starter - both my husband and I had to send them back. Messy, untidy, and cluttered with dirty glasses and discarded papers at the back of the restaurant. Style over content. Will not return. Worst experience ever. Lack of apology from management the following day.

Excellent food, we enjoyed the calamari, mac and cheese and ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce with thick fries were amazing. Dessert was lemon and raspberry possett and sorbet. Food was amazing, we went for early lunch and it was quiet, I'm not sure why as the food was excellent. We loved the cutlery and bowl for the mac and cheese. The server was lovely. And one thing we appreciated was the not being pressured to tip....a refreshing change. We will be back.

Had a ladies afternoon champagne lunch. Food was fabulous and the team so lovely and helpful but discreet. It was very quiet today but please don't let that put you off, it's fab. Wish Matthew and his team every success. I will definitely be back.

Last week I held a private party at Six One Six for my 30th - WHAT AN EVENT!! The second I walked in and met Matt to enquire he could not have done enough for us right down to the smallest detail to ensure it was everything we had hoped for. The venue was absolutely stunning, the canapès were delicious and Matt went above and beyond to curate the perfect menu (even down to putting my favourite cocktail on the menu especially for my birthday). Every detail had been considered from decor, to DJ, to entertainment to accommodation which made it such a light lift from my side. We love Six One Six and all my guests commented on what an incredible event it was. The staff also can’t do enough for you and are a lovely team. It was a night to remember and everything I had hoped for my 30th celebration Thank you Matt and the team! See you next time for party 2.0!!!

I booked for my partners birthday . We arrived and there had been an error with the booking and they couldn't get hold of me to notify of the issue . Clearly we were very upset but unfortunately one of those things . Not the fault of the restaurant or ourselves . However the service shown by the owner to try and rectify the situation was nothing short of outstanding . Not only did he offer us a host of cocktails on the house he also helped us book a table at the venue next door . He was such a genuinely nice person and went above any beyond to make sure we left happy . I've never had service like this and would totally reccomend . The cocktails were the best in chester and top class service . Brilliant.

The ambiance was very welcoming. All the staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. The evening meal was delicious, both food and wine well prepared. Excellent chef. We will certainly return when next in Stafford and would recommend the restaurant highly to anyone.

Walked in on Friday evening and thought how lovely, so my husband and myself ordered drinks, and asked to see the menu, as next day was our 45th wedding anniversary, and decided this was were we would book, paid for drinks, and upon leaving, waitress ran after me and asked if I'd paid! Told her I had, but she insisted I come back in and speak to who I paid!!! SOOO embarrassing! Then proceeded to tell me that people do runners! No apology when proved I had paid!! Won't be returning as my husband popped in next day to speak to owner and she wasn't interested nor apologetic, Tell your staff to communicate with each other to save embarrassing your customers 😡

I have nothing but positives for this relatively new venue. Friendly welcome, attentive, efficient but subtle service (particularly by Matthew himself), outstanding, delicious, fresh food and drinks. Birthday visit for me and couldn't have been more special. 4* atmosphere review, is purely due to our visit being a Weds evening, am sure that would be 5* during the weekend. We'll be back for sure! 😊

Went to Matt's place last weekend having met him and his amazing magician Jordan the previous night in a bar in Chester. My wife, who usually is not a fan of magicians was actually impressed, so he must be good! The restaurant Six One Six is in a great location. Extensive cocktail list at the bar. Food tasty and interesting wine list. Look forward dining there again.

A lovely place to spend a Sunday afternoon. My partner and I had a fab 2 course lunch and drinks - the staff were polite and accommodating, the food was delicious and the live music was fabulous. We will be coming back again in the near future.

Lovely building with nice design, however food was expensive for quality received. The scallop starter was nice but the scallops were tiny not the best quality. Husband enjoyed his asparagus starter. Mains Shepherds pie had too much mash to meat ratio disappointed! Hake and chunky chips, fish was lovely, chunky chips were like potato quarters unusual and lacking in flavour. Tartar sauce wasn’t pleasant. Service was good.

The owner is very present, he's clearly ambitious and striving for SixOneSix to be a standout venue in every area of quality. Great experience, we will definitely be back.

What an amazing dining experience my husband and I had here last night. The food was absolutely superb and our waitress was such a friendly young lady (sorry cant remember her name). The owner came over to our table for a chat, and it was like we'd known him all our lives. What a top bloke! As my husband said, the website doesn't do the restaurant justice. It's FANTASTIC. Get yourselves here for fab food fab setting and fab staff 10/10

We went for Mothers Day, with a group of 19 people. We were really looked after, nothing was too much trouble and hands down one of the best Sunday Roasts I’ve ever had!!!!! Really well done to all involved see you next time, sorry no photos food was too good and thanks for my pigs in blankets.

Food and drinks absolutely amazing and customer service impeccable, such a friendly atmosphere, been twice and i feel like i want to go back already as me and my family have been treated so well and like regulars. On thursdays they have a magician which adds to the atmosphere and is a good laugh. The owner goes to special efforts to get round to all the customers making it such a welcoming experience and the whole place is so accomodating for any dietary needs definitely will be going back and 10/10 recommend

Such an amazing night! We shared the chateau steak which was incredible, cooked to perfection with beautiful sides! The cocktails were delicious and the staff and the owner were all so so friendly, would definitely recommend!!

Just had dinner in a very friendly and respectful place. The owner was attentive from the moment we arrived, explaining what was not on the menu including the drinks menu and his recommendations Great food great atmosphere if ever in Chester well worth visiting.

It was amazing, the manager called us before visiting to discuss requirements and we informed him we were vegan. While their vegan menu is still a work in progress every single thing we were served was excellent. The vegan burger is the best one I’ve ever had, the pea fritas were an amazing combination and the cocktails were all beautifully sweet. We will 100% be going back when the menu is finalised.

Me and my husband visited Six One Six on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch, from start to finish the experience was amazing….very stylish bar/restaurant with a lovely chilled ambiance. We started our meal with some bread and oil followed by delicious starters of Deep Fried Calamari the Chimchurri really elevated this fish! Second starter was Halloumi Saganaki….simple but amazing flavours! The main dish Sunday Roast was the best we tried both the roast beef and chicken both cooked to perfection alongside the perfect portion size of potatoes and veg! A great selection of additional sides to choose from but we decided on cauliflower cheese to share highly recommended 😋! After such great starters and mains we couldn’t resist desserts both of which were equally as delicious as the first courses! Throughout our visit staff were very attentive and welcoming also had the opportunity to chat with the owner who clearly cares about his restaurant and customers experience.

We went yesterday for our weekly lunch date. We were the only ones there, which was a shame. However we were seated in a booth, which was comfortable and we didn't actually notice we had the place to ourselves. The owner himself waited on and we had an excellent conversation about the restaurant, he also had a resident magician who was also very good. We also received a 50%discount on the food. To the food, it was excellent. We were given a taster of pork scratching puffs that were morish in the extreme, but also very light with the right amount of crunch without the normal toughness - brilliant. We started with a sharing steak tartare crostini, it was delicious. Starters followed we shared a beef carpaccio(only the empty plate photo I'm afraid) and a crispy squid both were bang on. It is good to see watercress coming back on to menus. Main courses were shepherd's pie and battered hake. Again portion size was great and the flavours fantastic. The batter was light, thin, and crispy. Definitely in my top three fish chips from around the world (bearing in mind some countries just don't really get it). The chunky chips were out of this world, as we're the mushy peas and the tartar sauce, which came as a proper sauce for drizzling, absolute game changer. Overall really loved the place we will be back.

What a fabulous venue. The food, decor, music and service were fabulous. We were welcomed by the owner Matthew who was informative about the food and drink menu, and passionate about his business plans. Between us we started with warm mini loaves and halloumi followed by the battered hake, salmon and ribeye steak accompanied with sweet potato wedges and watercress salad. Pudding was creme brulee and posset. The food was delicious and served by Mia who was extremely attentive. Icing on the cake was Jordan, a table magician who blew us away with his tricks. We will definitely be going back.

Visited last night with two friends on my son’s recommendation and it did not disappoint. The interior is lovely, lots of little booths, so it feels cosy. Calm music. We were greeted my Matthew (the Manager), who could not have been more friendly and welcoming. He talked us through the menu and explained that someone would be along to take our orders. Our server was called Mia and she could not have been anymore attentive. I thought the service was excellent. Matthew came over to check on us a few times. We ordered steak, battered hake and salmon and all were cooked to perfection. The chunky chips were excellent, crispy note outside, but soft in the middle. We then ordered desserts, the posset and crème brûlée, again absolutely delicious! We were visited at the table by Jordan the magician, (who I think is there on a Thursday and occasional Wednesdays) and he is flipping amazing. He performed some card tricks to us and completely blew our minds! I still am trying to figure out how he did them!! I had such a lovely night and think the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! Can’t wait to go back and cannot recommend highly enough!!

OMG!!! Went on Sunday and had the best roast EVER and coming from 2 great cooks, it really was as good as the photos look!! Jon had a mocktail, which was so good and I had white wine with my chicken. Matt is a really lovely fella and genuinely cares about his customers. I've already booked a table to celebrate a belated birthday with friends and looking forward to trying more of the menu in the evening 😋 On Sunday, it was relaxed and had a chilled vibe, which was perfect 👌 All the hard work has definitely paid off, so hats off to you team- 5🌟 From the outside, compared to Opera, it doesn't look as grand, however, once you're inside, it blows Opera and Chef's Table out of the water. You will NOT be disappointed and I am very fussy lol ✨️🥰 xx

Decent enough but let down by the insanely loud dance/rave music. Complained, but given a rubbish answer regarding the sound system. This place need to work out quickly if it’s a restaurant or a nightclub. It’s not cheap either. Can’t believe we were out with friend for a catch up and couldn’t hear ourselves think never mind communicate. Completely spoilt our night and won’t ever return. There are far better places to go than this.

The dish was a perfect combination of flavors and textures, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chef. The hake was cooked to perfection… an EXCELLENT dish! Got recommended this place at the moxxy hotel and wow, incredible atmosphere when we arrived we was greeted well and taken to a table, we didn’t have to wait long before our order was taken and the food is incredible. On the night they had a live saxophone player who was playing alongside a DJ and it just added to the already wow factor we got to talk to the owner who kept checking if we was okay and had a really good chat so thank you Matthew for the great customer service and to your staff on the night as-well who were incredible. Will definitely be back again

I had a Sunday dinner here and it was outstanding! The food tasted incredible, 100% the best roast I’ve ever had. The staff were very friendly and the service was fantastic. Highly recommend

We had a lovely waitress named Jess who served us this afternoon, she was very welcoming and she chose a great wine to accompany the delicious roast beef dinner we had. Called in at the new Six One Six restaurant in Chester City Centre on Pepper Street. There was some outside seating and a waterfall under the new sign. Inside is large and modern with low lighting. We sat down and ordered from the main menu. I had Eggs Royale £9.50, it was excellently cooked by the chef, and served in a friendly style. They take cards and cash no problem. Overall it is a very well run operation.

I came for a Sunday roast. The roast was lovely and the live music was great. Excellent service and I really enjoyed my time

One word for it.... Fantastic! Decor, and atmosphere was perfect. Food was amazing. Cooked & presented beautifully. Have to call out the Miso Carrots and the Petit Pois in garlic. Squid also. Went for a Primitivo to accompany. One of the best Primitivos we've tasted. The steak was cooked perfectly, as was the Miso Hake. We don't normally order desert. But, after seeing the Peanut Butter cheesecake... Beautiful. Our waitress, Niamh was brilliant. Attentive, but not overly so. And prepared (when we wanted) to be chatty. A great thing if you like it. All in all, one of the best meals we've had.
