We were passing the Mill and decided to give restaurant a try - wasn’t sure what to expect ….. it was fantastic! Really good breakfast rolls, scones and coffee. Tidy, clean, friendly and cosy. Lots of interesting information about the history. Really surpassed our expectations!

Great selection of drinks on offer bar staff knowledgable about menu made reccomendations about starters when we couldn't decide. Got nachos, chicken wings and surf and turfs, steaks cooked to perfection and everything tasted amazing. Will be back again next time we are in the area. ,

Many thanks to Simon, Sarah, and Gang for a fantastic stay. We arrived a little early after a very long drive. Simon let us into our room and gave us a Happy Anniversary balloon 🎈. Which was such a lovely touch. Room 5 was very clean and tidy, and it has everything you could want. I enjoyed a lovely soak in the bath before dinner, which was fabulous 👌... We had drinks in the bar & a lovely meal. Always a bonus when vegetarians are catered for. 😃 The macaroni cheese was yummy. My hubby had gammon, eggs, and chip which he said it was excellent. Lots of choice on the menu and such a great atmosphere. We slept really well and had a wonderful breakfast before leaving. Lots of choices, cereals, juice toast, and a cooked breakfast. All served piping hot & cooked to perfection. We can't thank you enough for your making us feel so welcome ☺️

We had a table of ten booked for Easter Sunday lunch only to find out (from a friend) the evening before that they are closed due to a power cut. I understand that these things happen and it is beyond their control but they didn't even ring to inform us directly. We have family that have travelled 3 hours from Scotland for this. Absolutely terrible customer service!

I'm on record as having said on many occasions that if they awarded PhDs for scone-tasting, I should have a dozen. I've eaten scones in venues from the Orkney Islands to Australia and written about them in more publications than I could possibly remember. So, you can take my word for it that the freshly-baked, home-made scones (with butter and strawberry jam) at No.6 are quite possibly the best I've tasted in recent years. Cafe No 6 is a quaint place with a very atmospheric first-floor eating area, a delightful owner and staff who look like they are actually enjoying the job they do. My wife and I were just as impressed with the special 'doggy menu' on offer. We shall be back!

Very disappointed no atmosphere felt cold, got there at 9 mins to 2. Albeit food till 2pm wanted soup and sandwich but was told the chef had already closed the kitchen. I had a black tea which had a coffee taste. Husband had a pint which was cloudy and of poor quality. Would avoid this place at all costs. Everything you don't expect in a pub.

What an unwelcoming, miserable place. We stopped en route to Berwick but it was so grim looking we had a change of heart before even getting out the car and drove off. Later that day on the way home we were desperate for a cup of tea and having read the reviews which said it's not as bad as it looks, we decided to give the place a try. We arrived at 3.35pm having checked the website and Google for opening times. Both said open until 5pm. We walked into the shop, not a soul to be seen but voices from the back could be heard. We coughed , said hello a couple of times but no one came out. We walked through to the next room adjacent to the door into the tearoom. All in darkness. But I spotted a lady through the window of the door into the kitchen and she spotted me but didn't move. She was too busy talking to her colleague. She looked at me 3 times before finally coming out and when I asked if we could get a cup of tea she said they'd stopped serving at 3.30pm. It was 3.40 at this point. All we wanted was a cuppa. Appalling service, not a smile or an apology in sight. And no information online with café opening times. Businesses like this don't deserve to be in business.

Stopped at this lovely pub for dinner whilst on holiday in the area. Very accommodating we were a party of 3 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 7, with us. There was a great choice of food on the menu. We had no problem choosing something to suit us. The food came quite promptly and it was delicious, clean plates all round. Very pleasant staff on the bar and serving food.
