Stopped off for breakfast on the way home. Really nice environment and the breakfast was stunning. Best full English I’ve had in a very long time. Excellent value for money costing £11.50 which included 2 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 hash browns, tomato, beans, black pudding and toast. Everything was really well cooked and super tasty. It was bought to our table in less than 10 minutes, was hot and fresh. Would definitely go back for breakfast. The cakes here also looked amazing, perhaps next time I’m passing it’ll be cake time!

This applies to the cafe, not the shop which is invariably good. Ignored for 10 minutes at the counter by several members of staff until a queue behind us formed at which point someone offered to serve the person behind us!! No basic politeness or good manners. The food was ok which is the only reason for 2 instead of 1 star. Maybe it’s just Saturday staff, but there’s definitely a need for decent management. Won’t be back.

Not impressed - stopped on the way north and popped in for a hot drink - Hot chocolate and snack ordered - the hot chocolate was terrible - the lady serving took ages and didn’t seem very interested in customer service - we waited ages - then scoops of choc powder mixed with milk which was cold when it arrived - Will not be back

Excellent home cooked mains with a selection of vegetables, chips etc. Helpful friendly service and for January and February you can get a main meal and hot drink for £9.95 which is good value. Would have given 5 stars but the coffee wasn’t too good.

The positives as I see them. The coffee is good. As is the hot chocolate. And the cake that mam and I had was pretty nice too. The less than positives as I see them. The decor is badly in need to some TLC. Think they’ve just had a flood, but I’m talking about the fixtures and fittings as much as the painting and decorating. I also thought £15 was a bit steep for what we had. And I’m used to tipping over in SE1, fam. There was a few homemade dishes available on the hot plate. Veg lasagne, steak pie, veg curry, corned beef pie and so on. Looked decent. I’d rather give 3.5 out of 5 if that was an option. But it’s not.

We went to the cafe looking forward to a meal but unfortunately the selection was limited unless you like a sad looking Lasagne, Liver and Onions which was more onions than liver. Next you could have Cornedbeef pie which was more potatoes than Cornedbeef and finally there was Cottage pie which looked reasonable. ( There was a mystery dish but as there was no description as to what it was... your guess is as good as mine ) To accompany these dishes there was dried up potatoes with their skins left on or chips ( 5 only ), vegetables you'd need a magnifying glass to find and the cost of this rare treat.... Main meal £12 Cup of Coffee £3-20 A Scone. £3-60 My wife normally has a Jacket Potato but at £9-50 with little or no salad, we decided to do without. It used to be good but sadly with the new owners and of course the new prices it is no longer value for money.

Called in here as we were attending a family wedding nearby. Cafe was like a tardis - huge. Cakes looked amazing (although didn't try any) & plenty hot food to choose from. Menu looked quite extensive from cakes, sandwiches to hot food. We went for the soup of the day (cream of mushroom) omg it was amazing & a pastry to fill us up. Good value, decent portions & all round good food. Nice touch walking through the old mill (although the stuffed sheep gave me quite a shock haha). Nice idea having a shop on the same site which had massive range of outdoor gear, shoes, wellies, coats & dog bits n bobs. Definitely worth a visit.

I haven't been here for some years. We were in Corbridge and decided to come here for a look and a drink. The shop is basically a no frills shed selling clothing - mainly outdoor clothing of mixed quality including some very expensive high end items. There are reductions on mainly lower quality goods as far as I could see. If I wanted to buy Barbour for instance I would head to the factory shop at South Shields. We then went to the cafe for a very nice pot of tea and piece of fruitcake. The hot food looks excellent.

What a fabulous find! So good we had to come again today! All home cooked food, both the the meat pie and the meringue were to die for! My husband even said better than his mums! This is a distinctly average coffee shop next to a outdoors clothing emporium. The service was average, the scone stodgy and hot chocolate a tad unpleasant and cloying. There was a distinctly off vibe to the place , all in all it was just well average.. There's plenty of parking outside All in all not recommended.

Stayed in Otterburn for a few days and walked to Otterburn Mill at the bottom of our road for a cuppa and cake. Lovely warm welcome on arrival and I asked about the gluten free cake selection and was shown what was available, all homemade and all looked delicious! I had gf carrot cake and hubby (non gf) had a huge cream and jam scone. Good selection of herbal teas too. Dogs are made welcome too. We got a window seat with a lovely view, but most of the seats have great views anyway. Would recommend a visit to this cafe and a wander round the retail outlet.

Rena's Country Kitchen at Otterburn Mill has great food and specifically a wide choice. I called for a light lunch and was confronted with such an array that I found it difficult to choose. Eventually it was to be lasagne with chicken and basil with a cheese topping. There were potatoes, chips, carrots etc as accompanyments but I decided just carrots, which was just as well as I like to have a dessert. Again a great choice. Narrowed it down to cheesecake .... except there were two cheesecakes!! Which one? Eventually it was the one served in a large cup. Finished the meal off beautifully!!

Turned in at 3.20 after a morning at kielder , 4 of us ordered paninis to hear muttering in the kitchen that they’ve turned the machine off already, which then made us feel unwanted, once the food came out one of the paninis wasn’t brung and when asked about it words were mumbled yet once again, then we are sat in the beer garden and the woman that seems to think she’s amazing with her purple hair comes out fuming just because she has had to turn the machine back on and makes up that we said something to the waiters but in all honesty the waiter was brilliant with us, spent about £70 on food which will cover one of your staffs wages, speak to your customers with respect , your finish time is 4 hunny, made us feel so small. Would just like to say that I visited Otterburn mill today and was just about to put on a good review on the quality of the food and the efficiency and loveliness of the staff when I came across the previous comments. Can I just say that I was witness to what had occurred and from where I was sitting it was a group of what I can only describe as ‘full of themselves’ young men that were not shouting but saying things just loud enough about the waitresses as they were going about their work and they weren’t nice comments so the lady who came out, who I can only assume was their boss, told them not to be so rude and disrespectful to her staff. And with good reason from what I witnessed!!

We stopped off at Otterburn Mill on a rainy morning when sightseeing elsewhere had to be put on hold. We were aware of the Mill as we had stayed in Otterburn for a holiday some six years ago.The Mill works well on a number of levels. Weaver's Coffee Shop in the meal provides excellent 'homemade' meals. Good hot and cold food menu available as well as cakes, scones and drinks. The steak pie and the vegetable lasagne were particularly good, and the accompanying chips were delicious. One half of the coffee shop is dog-friendly.The Mill makes much of its heritage as a mill and there is a small exhibition of the old mill equipment including a horizontal water turbine. The retail part of the Mill provides an extensive range of outdoor leisure clothing with good discounts. The down part of going to Otterburn Mill for us was that we popped in for a quick drink and bite to eat and spent £100+ on outdoor clothing.

There's an excellent play area for children. Husbands tea was he said ok, however my Americano was absolutely tasteless. The coffee shop and the toilets were immaculate, however the coffee and crockery certainly lets it down. Friday 24 August 18, After visiting Black Middens Bastle House, my husband and I were in need of refreshments by now, so we drove to Otterburn, to visit the Otterburn Mill, which encompasses a retail outlet, country coffee shop, restaurant and Tourist Information Hub.

I would endorse previous comments. Our food (one chicken panini and one fish and chips) was edible but not well made. Loads of greasy cheese in the panini and the fish was likewise greasy. Also the overall ambiance is dated and tired. Won’t be going back unless there’s a big improvement. It’s a bit sad as I have fond memories of visiting in years gone by. Also little for vegetarians and nothing at all for vegans.

Reading through some of the other reviews, I would have to agree that the furnishings were uninspiring & tired, as was much of the food! Badly in need of an update & rethink as to the flow of queuing for one’s meal. Factory shop has seen better days.

Stopped on our way to our holiday accommodation. The restaurant looked very dated but didn’t eat there. There is a tourist information with lots of leaflets to help yourself to. This room had an awful smell which was something like stale cigarettes. Couldn’t wait to get back out into the fresh air. The country store clothes shop was very good and had lots of bargains

My wife & I decided to take a little trip "Over the Hills" whilst we were staying at Clennell Hall as we'd been to Rothbury the previous day we thought a visit to Otterburn would be rather good. We called in to Otterburn Mills for a "Coffee & Scone" and it hit the spot as the saying goes. There is plenty history of the Mill if you are into that kind of thing. There is also an outlet shop that you can browse if you have a mind to. On the way back to Clennell Hall we stopped for a while in The Tea Shop at Elsdon. Elsdon is known for its Jibbet where rouges were hung in days gone bye.

We come to Otterburn every 6 or 7 years and always visit the mill to particularly check out the shop as we (used to) like the blankets and other stuff they had made.

Lovely wee place. Shop, cafe and a wee museum. Too hot to leave dogs in the car so why not take them with us. Shop prices decent, museum and displays interesting and the walks lovely in the sunshine. The cafe even has a dog friendly area that was nice and cool.

An excellent stop off for us en route to/from Edinburgh. Food always good and reasonably priced and if ,like us, you are lucky to have warm weather to be able to sit outside in the garden to eat while enjoying the beautiful views it is even better. Always browse in the shop for deals and always buy something. Some good quality at good prices.

Popped in to here whilst driving to visit family in Scotland. Fantastic little cafe!! Scones and cakes are absolutely delicious and the staff cannot help you enough and are so friendly! We were a tad early to have any main meals but we will definitely be coming back in on the drive back home to try the lunch options. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

I’m so sad to see this lovely place closed. It had great staff and atmosphere and a fantastically good smoked haddock chowder. I wish its people all the best and I thank them for all the great visits we’ve had here. I really hope that there might be a replacement cafe of such quality. We’ll watch with interest.

Our introduction to this country pub was to a spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean bedroom, with stunning views of the fells. Next dinner and cooking of Michelin quality. A highlight was the scallop with belly pork, a brilliant dish. Next morning breakfast, again flawless in every respect from the service to the produce. Any prospective dining pub owner/chef should come here to see how it's done.

Generous portions of tasty pub food and some excellent local cask beer. The warmest of welcomes for me and Razzie the border terrier and a special shout out to Adele for looking after me so well!
