I am writing 2 seperate reviews as we had 2 very different experiences. The first time we stumbled upon this place,we felt like we had found a gem. Myself my husband our 2 boys and our dog stopped for drinks & cake. The staff were so friendly, food delicious and we felt welcome and relaxed. On the Tuesday on our way home from our trip we were determined to visit the coffee house again, but for lunch this time. This time the staff were not as welcoming. We were told we could not move 2 small tables together and we had to sit on a 6 seater at the door. This was not ideal as it had no space for our dog to sit and felt drafty. So we Said we'd sit on the 2 small tables without moving them. The rude blonde lady behind the counter said she'd rather we didn't incase other customers would like to sit there. We felt uncomfortable and very unwelcome so we left and are unlikely to return.

I tell everyone about this fab place to stop for lunch. The service is second to none. The food is absolutely spot on. The coffee is great. The cakes are great. The staff are friendly. Dogs are welcome. We never miss the opportunity to call in. Even at peak times you will get served quickly and the food will be spot on. The menu is small and traditional but everything on it is fresh, wholesome and decent value for money.

The sign by the door says it’s open 10-5; we stopped there shortly after 4 to find the door just being slammed shut, without explanation, and there was another couple in the car park who said they’d been thrown out because they were so eager to close. Disappointing that they have so little regard for their customers.

We needed a break, and looking for something light, we stopped here. They offer both sweet and savoury choices which pleased both of us. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You can eat inside but we chose to take our choices to a table outside. There were a lot of walkers who stopped here.

Went for a stop off before going back home. Had hot drinks and scones. We did not feel very welcoming to the cafe. I hated the way the split customers off, telling people rudely where they could and could not sit. The scones arrived first and we were finished our scones when our drinks eventually arrived. The drinks were wayy too hot and I had wondered why it had taken ages to do 3 teas. I overheard a member of staff tell a customer that there was supposed to be a new girl starting but she messaged in to she would not be there so that is why the service was slow. First time visiting and I don't think I will be back.

Visited the Errington Coffee House with a group of friends after a 10 mile hike nearby and what a very pleasurable experience it was. We arrived quite late in the day and very close to 4pm when the cafe was due to close. However, the Manager was very accommodating and was happy for us to stay. She also rearranged the tables so our group of 12 could sit together and promptly took our order. The staff who had kindly agreed to stay were very friendly and looked after us very well. We all thoroughly enjoyed our tea/coffee and cakes and I will definitely visit again.

Planned on stopping at the pub so surprised to see it was now a coffee shop. It was really busy which was a good sign. Menu was limited and a little pricey but the sandwiches were nice (my coronation chicken sandwiches were stuffed with delicious filling), although the use of butter would have been preferable to margarine. Desserts were nice too. Staff were really friendly, helpful and attentive and clearly trying very hard to provide good service.

Pretty spot but don’t arrive within half an hour of closing. Was abruptly told they were closing in half an hour (at 16:30), and if that was ok. Staff seemed in a rush to clean up & go home. Lady at the bar serving actually apologised to the other staff because we ordered steak pies.. so we were served soggy chicken pie a few minutes later, with some sad salad. The pie tasted microwaved (clearly the staff wanted to get home on time) and not heated through properly. A rushed experience. Was reminded again a few mi utes before that they were closing. Disappointing and will not visit again.

First visit to the cafe and we were met by a very helpful and cheerful member of staff who took our order very quickly. The food arrived promptly and was very tasty. We finished our food and were busy chatting when another member of staff approached our table and asked if we wanted to order anything else, as there were people waiting for our table. We mentioned that we were waiting for the coffee machine to be fixed as we wanted to order another hot drink but was told rudely that it would be a while as he had just arrived! Feeling perturbed we duly got up, paid for our food and left. Even in busy times being polite is always favourable

After driving past regularly and seeing the coffee house we decided to call in and give it a try. We seen it was farmer owned so had high expectations for quality ingredients. Upon arrival there was a server behind the bar, we weren’t acknowledged but did see a sign saying to take a seat. The menu was quite basic and quite expensive (£9 for a jacket potato with beans and cheese) but we were happy to stay and give it a try as above. We don’t mind paying for quality. The customer service was very chaotic. The food however was the most disappointing. The jacket potato arrived with a tiny portion of cheap cash and carry style cheese and a very poor salad. We also ordered a pie (£8) which also arrived with a very poor salad. The pie was absolutely tiny. I’m not one for big portions but this was shockingly small and very soggy. We did fancy trying dessert as they looked good but after trying to get one of the many staffs attention for over 20 mins we just decided to leave. We went to a cafe down the road which had wonderful customer service and very normal portion sizes!

We did not stay long only to enjoy our quick refuel of refreshments, one of the staff even commented on the fact we were using their internet, how very dare we! Actually my 4G worked perfectly. As it's a public right of way on a public footpath I would suggest the owner does her homework - we will not be returning...EVER!

We planned to go after a visit to Hadrian’s Wall but ended up taking a wrong turning so arrived only just before closing time. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and made us Tea even though they were cleaning and getting ready to close for the day! We had a delicious “Hummingbird cake” - one of the best cakes I’ve had in a long time! We had such a lovely time and chatted to the staff about the area. Will definitely be coming back as soon as I can and I highly recommend to absolutely everyone! Thank you from my Mum and me!

My wife and I called in this afternoon, and initially we were welcomed in. There seemed to be a friendly atmosphere with a glass fronted chiller full a nice cakes and sweets. All we wanted was a tea, coffee and one of their displayed cakes each. We were told by a member of staff to find a seat and someone would come over and take our order. So we done just that and began talking about what we wanted and looking around the room but waited and waited. Other people arrived 15 minutes after us and were seated and served immediately. After a further 5 minutes we decided to leave very disappointed.

Called into the the former Errington Arms which is now a superb tea/coffee house. What an excellent welcome from the very friendly owner and all her staff. We were invited to sit at a table right next to the roaring log burner, on what was a stormy, miserable day.I ordered a ham and peas pudding sandwich but sadly they had just served the last of the peas pudding! I was told the ham on its own was good and they were not wrong, hand cut, fresh and full of flavour, it was superb.Well worth a visit, highly recommended

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

I’m so sad to see this lovely place closed. It had great staff and atmosphere and a fantastically good smoked haddock chowder. I wish its people all the best and I thank them for all the great visits we’ve had here. I really hope that there might be a replacement cafe of such quality. We’ll watch with interest.

Our introduction to this country pub was to a spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean bedroom, with stunning views of the fells. Next dinner and cooking of Michelin quality. A highlight was the scallop with belly pork, a brilliant dish. Next morning breakfast, again flawless in every respect from the service to the produce. Any prospective dining pub owner/chef should come here to see how it's done.

Generous portions of tasty pub food and some excellent local cask beer. The warmest of welcomes for me and Razzie the border terrier and a special shout out to Adele for looking after me so well!
