At first glance this place looked like a bustling cafe, with fresh cakes and a warm welcome, from great suggestions and fresh food this is the place to come in Hexham! I opted for a sausage and onion toastie with fries and a choccy milkshake whilst I was doing some work! Beautiful and very tasty! All the staff had big smiles, and time for each and every customer! Claire was especially helpful, making me a beautiful milkshake, and explaining what Rising Cafe is all about! All I can say is wow! Thank you so much and keep up the amazing work! It was lovely to spend an hour somewhere that was so full of laughter and good vibes! I will be back!

Had a lovely Saturday lunch at the Heart. We picked it as reviews said it was dog friendly, and we can say it is exceptionally so! The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome and made a real fuss over Ru. We both had fish finger sandwiches which were very tasty and well cooked (not overly oily fried fish). Only let down is that you can’t tip on card so were unable to leave as much gratuity as we wanted to.

We visited Hexham yesterday and found this café in the Market Place, after a lovely River Tyne walk. It was quite busy at 1pm but we didn't have to wait long for our table. The girls made us feel very welcome and worked so hard while we were there clearing tables and getting everyone seated as soon as possible. My husband had a bacon sarnie and I had a ham and mushroom omelette which was so light and fluffy, delicious. Coffees were great too. Plenty of choice on the menu and great prices. Doggy friendly too with a treat for pooch 🐾

We had dinner at the Beaumont and really enjoyed it. The soufflé was perfectly cooked and really delicious. Both main courses (duck and venison) were a joy to eat - really good to see a restaurant which uses ingredients such as parsnip and beetroot in their dishes. Service is attentive and helpful. The accoustics can be a bit of a problem once the place fills up and it gets a little noisy, but overall an excellent meal and good value for money. I'd certainly go back.

This is a pub that understands how to look after and serve real ale. Always an excellent, ever changing selection. Friendly staff make it a great local. Could be improved with light bar snacks. Often have good live music.

Delicious breakfast, we were hiking Hadrian’s Wall and spent the night at the Railway Inn. The staff was very kind and helpful and the rooms, bedding and baths were very comfortable. I recommend this establishment.

What an appalling experience! We arrived on a Sunday lunchtime to find more than half the tables full with leftover food and plates. The person at the bar gave us the wrong drinks twice (only a pint and a half!) and got severely confused when offered 22p to accompany a £10 note for a £5.22 bill. If this wasn't bad enough, the ladies toilet was in a disgraceful condition, with one cubicle containing what appeared to be days old vomit up the walls and the loo roll having been in the bowl. We've been to many Wetherspoons pubs over the years, but this was a disgrace to the chain.
