The best restaurants serving British food in East Gosforth Newcastle upon Tyne North East

The name has now changed and has an unusual name. Best wheat free cake ever. My friend told me , when she had it. I had the usual explosive calorie cake. Perfect , probably the tastiest cheesecake I have had. The staff are so lovely .

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to cross over the Swing Bridge and visit some of the great pubs in Gateshead, one of my favourites was The Grey Nags Head Pub. A wonderful looking pub, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, dark wood features abound throughout this pub, great decor and furnishings, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, all in all a wonderful local traditional pub. We ordered at the bar ,as it was a really hot afternoon we both chose Woodpecker cider ,these were served iced cold, we grabbed a table were we settled down and enjoyed our ciders. The cider served in here was really good, a crisp, effervescent and most importantly iced cold cider that really cut through the thirst on a hot afternoon, must mention the barmaid in here ,a wonderful cheerful person,made a fuss of my twin and I, really made us feel welcomed in the pub,Geordie hospitality at its finest. We really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Grey Nags Head Pub we were totally impressed. The Grey Nags Head Pub is easy to locate along High Street in Gateshead. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 11am till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, 11am till Midnight. Sunday, 11am till 11pm. A wonderful pub,if you're this side of the River Tyne a pub I highly recommend you visit.

This is a hidden little gem right next to South Gosforth metro. Great food (I recommend the chicken, cheese and mushroom panini), lovely service and a very good selection of light bites and teas.

The William IV on High street is a local pub in Gateshead that offer a decent range of beers and was one of several pubs that we visited on a day out around Gateshead. A solid old style boozer that is housed in a traditional pub style building'the interior is again a traditional pub interior with lots of good seating options and an outside area at the back with extra seating options. I don't know why but I adore going to pubs like this as it brings me back to when I first started drinking many years ago and most of the pubs I visited where like this. This pub was very busy when we visited as where most pubs we went to in Gateshead and when here we had a couple of bitters from the John Smith's brewery which were well served and priced. This is another superb local boozer and is well worth visiting as the staff were friendly and they offer a well priced range of beers and is very easy to locate from High Street bus stop it's a minute's walk.(This is my first review of the William IV). Great atmosphere. There are lots of boardgames to borrow, a huge chess board and they do pub quizzes. Food is American diner style and the portions are huge. Dog friendly.

Really friendly and nice pub with great food options. We went on a Sunday evening for a Christmas roast and we were not disappointed. Would definitely recommend. Also the staff were super helpful with our allergies and dietary requirements.

Good little pub with live music every Friday night

My daughter is reading law at Newcastle and being a second year is living in Jesmond, therefore I found a boutique hotel that would suit all my needs. Great bed, beautiful room and easy access to her house and the Dene. I wanted to relax and enjoy my time alone too whilst I was there. For runners there is no better hotel. Quiet, safe, stunning building and friendly staff. The bar and restaurant very ambient. I think I would never stay anywhere else again.

I have been using this chip shop for over 15 years, Gosforth chip shop is the only one I will ever use. In this time I have only ever had one issue, it was handled with professionalism and rectified after all we are all human and make mistakes. I would like to commend all staff and delivery drivers on the the hard work and dedication you put in to the customer experience and beautifully cooked food. Kind regards Mr and Mrs Nellis

Ordered sausage beans and chips arrived Luke warm ate it as was hungry but not nice ,service was good but will not be back

A cosy and friendly place. Food is amazing, friendly staff who always have time for you and most importantly (to me anyways) dog / puppy friendly. Keep up the good work guys :)

Good quality ingredients, beautifully prepared - only one snag very salty. I am not sure if it was because of too much salt or MSG used in the dishes, however, it wouldn't put me off from ordering from there again. Didn't have to wait that long for the delivery either.
