Sunday lunch was excellent , really good quality main and nice atmosphere.

This pub is always a stand out from the others in the area. It’s one of my favourite places in Newcastle and the food and drinks are always top class. Grace and the rest of the staff are always friendly and smiling - something that’s rare in pubs and restaurants these days. I’ve had a few different meals and I’ve always been impressed. I would recommend for family gatherings or just a quick relaxed pint.

Great Sandwich and brilliant service

Amazing service from george, was very helpful with my nannas milk allergy. its refreshing to see that a pub that looks after people with allergies! thank you to chef bryan, we loved our meals and we will definitely be back for more soon.

We hired a space for our son’s 1st birthday. The staff were incredibly attentive, and the food was delicious! We could not recommend the Brandling Arms enough!

They were so accommodating to us as part of a two family booking. Two babies, two children and four adults. I’d booked in advance and let them know about prams etc, the seating area couldn’t have been better for us. We were greeted straight away by a lovely gentleman who sat us. He showed us the menu and offered some specials. It was a little loud at the beginning of the night but there were a few parties in and it was a Friday so not unexpected. It soon quietened down though. Food was amazing and served so fast. We had the boss burger and fish fillets and they were delicious. We were checked in on again by our lovely server which was very nice. Overall lovely as per and will definitely be back.

My girlfriend and I went for Sunday lunch. Booked online last minute and they couldn't accommodate us. I ordered the beef and my girlfriend the chicken dinner. The beef and chicken both cooked perfectly and the portion sizes were excellent. I would highly recommend. Excellent.

We went today for Sunday Lunch and decided to try the sharer at £40. Sadly, the food was luke warm, the beef was like cutting boot leather and very tough and full of fat and the chicken full of bones. The sharer is advised as being Beef / chicken and lamp rump, however we were convinced that there was no lamb and it was belly pork. Individual Sunday lunches are priced at Belly Pork, £17.50 / Chicken £16.50 and Beef £18.50 - we couldn't understand why the sharer is priced at £40 - when the only difference seemed to be a small cocktail sausage each. The Brandling is a lovely pub, it was warm and cosy - but don't think we would go back for food again.

My first time at the Brandling, but not going to be my last Lovely food and at a resanobke price, excellent staff and nice atmosphere A1+ :-)

The food was lovely, and the service was amazing. Had a lovely catch up with my old work colleagues. The halloumi fries were amazing.

We visited with a big group of friends between Christmas and New Year and could not have had better service. The food was lovely and staff were very helpful and accommodating of lots of little children. We’ll definitely be back!

Delightful pub in the heart of Gosforth. I visited with family and our labrador last Saturday. Brilliant festive friendly feel - we loved the Christmas decorations and food. We had the festive burger cooked by Daz and mulled wine which were delicious. Evie looked after us and she was absolutely fantastic. We can’t wait to come back again and try the quiz! Would highly recommend.

Really friendly and nice pub with great food options. We went on a Sunday evening for a Christmas roast and we were not disappointed. Would definitely recommend. Also the staff were super helpful with our allergies and dietary requirements.

Booked for a small family Xmas meal and it did not fail to deliver. Met on arrival and shown to our nicely set out table straight away. We were introduced to our server, Chloe, who was very attentive and helpful all night. The food is up there for a local pub but of restaurant quality and I would recommend a visit here. We had the three course Xmas meal which came hot and just the right amount.

It's a good pub for lunch. I enjoyed the fish goujon sandwich. The pub is dog friendly and has nice friendly atmosphere. It's particularly good on a sunny day in the beer garden.

Excellent service from face to face booking with Ryan to ordering and table service. Food was truly delicious with so many varied options available and prompt service. Nothing was a problem from the excellent kitchen staff to service managers. Th am you , would highly recommend.

My take of the food at the Brandling on the High Street. On a Wednesday at 7pm, 80% full with 80% eating says it all as a recommendation for the food. (I would advice booking via the simple to use website) The food is hot well presented and may I say served well by the attentive staff. Try the Nachos - it's so different to the rest.

A great pub with helpful and friendly staff. They managed to get 22 people in for Sunday roast at last minute. Grace was brilliant and helpfully.

Our go to place for a tea/coffee in the afternoon or a drink after work. Recently tried the brunch menu which was delicious. Grace was an excellent host!

Fantastic evening for a combined 50th birthday party in the private room at the Brandling Arms. The room was perfect, food excellent and staff were very attentive. Particular thanks to Grace for her help organising the night. We would definitely recommend it to others for a similar event.

Lovely pub inside and out and great meals!

Our first choice for drinks on Gosforth High St...Great pub, friendly staff and dog friendly.

We didn't book and the restaurant was very busy when we arrived. Staff were helpful and quickly found us a table. Food was served quickly and enjoyed by all. The service was excellent from all the staff we came in contact with. A lovely evening was enjoyed.

The best place! We have chosen here on so many occasions - we’ve had Sunday lunch, group get togethers, baby showers, etc and it’s always just been perfect. The staff are wonderful and a brilliant choice of food and drink.

Amazing breakfast both vegan and traditional. Definitely will be back as it always difficult to find somewhere that caters for vegan and meat eaters at this standard. Thanks to Luca & Dan in the kitchen as well as Annie & Ryan for looking after us so well.

My vegan breakfast was perfect 10/10 A lovely clean restaurant with friendly staff. Very good value for money. A traditional English breakfast with toast and a pot of tea plus a full vegan breakfast with toast and excellent coffee came to £27. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. All-all-all a great experience.

It’s been my local for over ten years and I love this place. Great atmosphere, music, good selection of drinks and the staff are superb. The general manager especially so, and they have always been really accommodating when my dad comes down who has mobility issues. He loves it in here too.

This local pub is amazing. Great selection of drinks. It is a little more expensive than your every pub but not by much, however you are paying for quality food and the service is amazing. Staff are very attentive and friendly. The pub owner goes out of his way to make sure your visit is a pleasant one. Food is amazing quality. I can totally recommend the steak sandwich with rosemary fries. The outdoor area is great when it's sunny and you are shielded in from the street. I am not going to lie. I am a frequent flyer at this place because the standards are consistently high.

I booked the upstairs function room at Brandling Arms for a baby shower for my sister. It was a perfect venue. It’s a lovely room, food was amazing and staff were lovely. From first enquiry through to the event, it was a really easy and smooth process. They let us bring our own decorations and cake, and put our music on. It’s rare to find a venue who make everything so easy and the event goes so perfectly. Really decently priced too. Thank you Brandling Arms! Highly recommended.

Just had an epic Sunday dinner. The beef was tasty and thickly sliced, loads of veg, crispy potatoes and a fab Yorkshire pudding. We ordered a side of cauliflower cheese that was gorgeous as well- nice and cheesy and a bit of whole grain mustard. Great portion size- feeling really full! Gorgeous food and fabulous wine. Great service as always

Really lovely atmosphere pub grub was good, we had the small plates shared and all very tasty. Two others had a huge burger which went down a treat. Lovely outdoor seating area, easy to forget you are on the high street. Ordering was by the app or at the bar …. Comfortable seating and very bright decor. Exactly what we wanted for a family casual night out.

Popped in for dinner for a birthday meal to use the £30 drinks voucher received via email. The food was amazing, so hands up to chef Chris who was cooking that day. Our server Emma was really helpful, as were all of the staff. This is a great place to have a bite to eat, great service, atmosphere and price, would highly recommend.

I was made to feel warm and welcomed upon my arrival from both Grace and Josh and my scrambled eggs from Chris were cooked to perfection. First time customer but I’ll be back for sure!

Went with family for our daughter’s bday, we’ve been looked after, staff friendly and knowledgeable plus asked if chef can make a dish I like but not on the Sunday menu, and there was no problem at all . Recommended 👍🏼

Absolutely fabulous...we sat outside as we didn't book on a Sunday ...our fault...after 10mins they had a cancellation so lovely hostess came and asked if we would like to move inside. She was so lovely got us high chair and made sure we liked the table...the waiters Annie and Ryan checked in on us and we don't even wait long for food which we thought was great as was so busy...Dan was our chef and the food was glorious we are both veggies so there sometimes isn't the best choice but this was lovely could tell they had considered this in the menu. Would always come back out baby and dog we're loving the friendly atmosphere and the food as well. Thanks again for a lovely experience

There was plenty of sunshine, and most of the guests sat in the courtyard, which was full of laughter. The food in arms is of a certain standard. This is a small town, and the people coming and going are not complicated.

We had a fantastic experience at the Brandling Arms for our Church Sunday Lunch Club. The food was excellent, the service at the bar was great, and the hosts were incredibly friednly and accommodating. Thank you for making our lunch truly special!

Great pub this is! It has a really good atmosphere, very modern and the service was brilliant! I stopped by for something to eat, having a Cheeseburger and fries along with a cider - the quality was better than any other and value for money, too! Highly recommend!

Nice modern / casual atmosphere. A couple of craft beers on tap. Food looked interesting but we did not eat. Nice beer garden at front, but too cold to use when we visited.

Really easy to book table and ample room for our large group of mums to park prams. Staff were really helpful and friendly, food delicious and competitively priced. No complaints and plan to be back again very soon.

It’s OK….BUT a few things would have made it a lot better. The pub itself is really open and dog friendly, clean with a nice atmosphere. The food is plentiful but there are a few strange details which need addressing. We had Sunday Roasts - all the meat was very nicely cooked, but the Chicken is served on the bone which needs clarifying, and also the Beef is served medium which for some (not me) is under done. The question of how a consumer would like the Beef should be asked. The Cabbage and Leek combo was very crunchy - very underdone. Gravy and vegetables were very nice. The Sticky Toffee pudding is oddly too salty…!! Almost savoury. This is a strange decision to make in the recipe, and although I quite liked the idea, it could do with being a little less! Overall on food: 6.5/10

Came here with my Grandma for lunch and got the chicken bacon burger and chorizo and feta, was lovely would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere nice to eat with friends and family.

One of the best pubs in the area. We went with a group of 30+ on this occasion and they looked after us all so so well. The food was and always is excellent, thanks to Chef Joe. The service was brilliant, very friendly and helpful, thanks to Ryan & Grace. Thoroughly recommend for food and/or drinks, and with whatever sized group!

Went for drinks with friends and had never been before. Had a great time, great selection of drinks and nice atmosphere. Want to shout out Katie and Ryan as well. It was refreshing to receive customer service on a great level like we had. Will definitely be retraining soon.

Been wanting to try The Branding Arms for years and years and on Monday me and my wife chose great sunny random day to try. The pub is a bright, warm and very pleasant place to be.The staff we met seemed happy and enjoyed the job. We asked to take photos and they were really cool with it. They also told us the menu will change in 6 weeks time too. We ordered two Signature Burgers. One Rosemary and Parmesan. Cheese cake, brownie. Was a costly adventure but super well worth it. The ingredients were nice and different for the taste. The amount of skin on fries in the cups was plenty and had a lush taste and crisp. The cheese cake stole the show in looks and taste, The cake had shortbread up the side too which I enjoyed. The popcorn and chocolate sauce were so pleasing. My wife had brownie and ice cream which was lovely too. Overall I would say look at the menus and enjoy. Thank you Branding Arms and staff. We will come back down the line in the year as we live in Blyth.

It’s not very often I review a restaurant However I have to say how disappointed I was with the food that we had. We went for Sunday lunch and personally an establishment should give the customer the choice if they wish to have their beef pink. It’s not to everyone’s liking and should at least specify on the menu. Also the chicken was in the bone and I think this is laziness on the restaurants part. Again, the customer should be given the choice if they want meat on the bone. Fat wasn’t rendered on the pork therefore the meat was slimy from the fat. I like my vegetables with crunch but not just blanched. Saving grace was the service was great went out of their way considering there was a group of us but sadly I won’t be returning

Going out to eat with my Mam, who is coeliac is usually difficult and disappointing, with either staff who don't understand what it means, or very limited choice of suitable food for her. Today was a breath of fresh air - with the best gluten free service I have experienced in a long time. I asked what was available, and Matt explained that they could do any of the sandwiches on gluten free bread - but that if there was anything else on the menu she fancied, that most things could be tweaked to ensure they were GF. She asked if she could have fish and chips - and the answer was yes - a GF flour and beer are used to make the batter - and Mam said it was lovely. My sister and I had the cheese toasties, and they were great too. Matt was fabulous and really made the visit very enjoyable - thankyou so much!
