Este es un hermoso edificio, reformado por expertos, lleno de carácter. Lo encontramos por accidente y parecía muy acogedor desde fuera. No decepcionó.

This is a classy pub, with a small, but pleasant beer garden outside and a good range of drinking options. I haven't had the chance to try their food, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. The way the building is structured allows nooks and spaces that feel relatively private, even on busy nights.

Amazing bar near to Central Station. Plenty of drinks on tap, staff friendly. Nice chilled out crowd in attendance, everyone is friendly, both patrons and staff. Drinks are quite expensive; I was going in rounds with my group and I felt that I was charged more than one of my friends was even tho the round was the same 🤔 Therefore keep an eye on what you are spending. Plenty of seating and the bar is apparently dog friendly.

First time to experience an English Sunday roast. The garnishes were great but the beef was topside, not prime rib and was tough. It would have been better had it been sliced thinner. For £15 I can't complain. A similar portion of roast at Lawry's in the US would cost £40.

I was recommended this pub for Sunday roast and was sadly disappointed. Firstly the staff were lovely - Josh in particular was super friendly, accomodating and looked after us well. We ordered two bloody marys which tasted like water with a dash of tomato and pepper, we couldn't finish them. I had the beef roast - the meat was cooked well and juicy although the edge was chewy. The potatoes were very dry and felt like they had been reheated a few times. My friend had the pork roast which was very dry and needed a lot of gravy to compensate. The carrots and Yorkshire puddings were great. For dessert we had the crumble (fine) and chocolate brownie, which wasn't warm and was dry and crumbly. Overall - disappointed with the food but the staff and location are good.

We'd booked a table for Sunday lunch at 5pm . I accept that may seem late (to some) for lunch but it fitted our travel plans and it was the time slot offered on their own website. There were later slots so we assumed all would be OK. Early afternoon on the day we received a call asking us to either pre-order or move our booking forward. I wouldn't normally but we were keen to try this place so we agreed 4pm and re-arranged our plans. We arrived at 3:45 and asked the barman if our table was ready. He checked, said it was and pointed in the vague direction of where the table was leaving us to find it. I asked if we needed to order drinks/food at the bar and was told someone would take our order at the table. We sat and waited 15 minutes before I went back to the bar to order our drinks. We sat and waited another 30 minutes before paying for our drinks and leaving. The barman knew we were there (he'd even opened a tab for the drinks) and the Manager knew we were there (I'd spoken to him when I ordered the drinks). It was quite quiet and there seemed to be plenty of staff. Perhaps the guy cleaning the cutlery could have taken our order. Perhaps the girl who cleared the adjoining table whilst we were sat there could have taken our order. Perhaps the Manager who knew I'd had to come back to the bar to order drinks could have taken our order or at least proved his worth as a Manager and made sure someone did. If you ignore customers for 45 minutes in a near empty pub then you don't deserve business.

We came in on Friday evening for drinks and food, but unfortunately just didn't have a great time which is a shame considering the great potential of the place. The bar was busy with 3 sides and more than enough staff, however there seemed no system in place as to who was serving who and on which side which meant waiting for a drink took an unnecessarily long time, and then when some did come to our side, they would have no idea who was first so would shout 'who's next', which if you are small and behind one of the large beer taps, and a bigger guy behind you shouts, you will miss out. We had table service (which we didn't expect, we'd thought we'd have to go to the bar) to order the food and the waitress was lovely. The food itself was ok, standard pub grub. The red pepper hummus tasted a bit odd and the katsu tofu was a bit of a disappointment - greasy silken tofu and cold curry sauce. But everything else as expected. We'd intended to stay for a few drinks but the acoustics were pretty terrible meaning you could barely hear the person next to you talk, which I get it's an old building with high ceilings, but there are ways around that. The biggest issue was when we tried to get our food bill at the end. By that time they had stopped officially serving food so there were no staff on the floor, and everyone was behind the bar. It was then impossible to get the bill without essentially queuing for a drink, which I didn't quite fancy. I tried to lean over to ask a very young bartender, but was just told by him he was busy serving someone. Eventually our same waitress who took the order was able to help, but it was a bit of a long and drawn out process for something quite simple. Would've been easier to order food at the bar in the first place. I work in hospitality myself, so am only trying to be constructive and not criticise, I think it's a great venue, just needs a little operational improvements.

We've eaten at The Town Wall previously and it's been really good so we were really disappointed with our most recent visit, for Sunday Lunch with friends. Appearances can be deceptive: we'd seen lunch being served to other tables and the roast beef looked exceptional so I actually decided to go against my first choice (the pork) and order beef instead. However, alarm bells started to go off when we saw the same meals being sent back twice by another table! Three of us ordered beef, and my wife ordered the pork. The beef was served medium so nice and pink but it was as tough as old boots. The pork was overcooked to the point of being like eating sawdust. The roast potatoes were tough. The mashed potatoes were stodgy and really needed some butter or cream in them. The only highlight was the Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Both were decent. What was perhaps more frustrating was that our friends had eaten in The Town Wall barely two weeks earlier and said they had an excellent meal. We complained and were offered a round of complimentary drinks. That's all well and good but we'd far rather have had an enjoyable meal. It's a real shame that the Sunday lunch was so below par given our previous visits. It won't stop me coming back for drinks as I like The Town Wall - it has a great ambience and a good selection of beers - but it'll probably be quite some time before I trust it for a Sunday lunch.

Booked in on a Sunday for a celebratory lunch and were underwhelmed by the whole thing. Ordered 3 x Sunday lunches and a fish and chips. All 3 Sunday lunches turned up cold so were sent back and heated up. The only lunch that was replaced fully was one that had sauce on the plate before we realised it was stone cold. Fish and chips were pretty woeful. Fish was greasy and a lot smaller than previous times we’d visited. Had to eat alone as rest of the food was taken away. £100 total bill for 3 cold meals, one greasy fish and chips and drinks. Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend and spoiled what should’ve been a lovely birthday lunch.

We went for a Christmas staff lunch and sadly it did not live up to the lovely time we had had 2 years previously. The starters took over an hour to arrive even though we had pre-ordered. The soup was cold and the portions of the Salmon and the Mushroom Pate were woefully small. The pate looked disgusting. The main course was delicious but, again the wait was dreadful. There were not enough staff on the bar and desserts took another 30 minutes to arrive after the main course. We were told we had to leave the table because another group was booked in and no member of staff apologised for our wait or for the fact that, due to their tardiness, we were forced to vacate the room whilst some of the party hadn't had time to finish their desserts. We had had a great experience two years ago but we will not be visiting again. Really disappointed.

Use to be a big fan of the town wall… use to go here a lot on my university days, and the staff were really friendly and remembered my name and they use to remember my name and my order.. now not so much, last time I went in for the first time in years some sketchy characters were in there, and when I come out to wait for my taxi there was a group of vagrants who asked(demanded) money from me and the group I was with near the entrance to which I reluctantly obliged, because I did not want trouble in front of my girlfriends mother.. I was going to book a room for my parents anniversary, but I will go local instead due to this experience, Newcastles homes less problem has ruined a load of bars and this is one of them, no point in paying up market prices if I am experiencing this.

Very disappointing experience. My husband ordered fish & chips and an extra portion of chips. He asked the difference in price between 2 lagers only to be told one was dearer than the other. He asked for a lager tops and had to ask the barmaid for lemonade as it had none. She then told him the bill was £33 something when he queried it she said oops she had charged for the dearer lager...he asked for the receipt which was £28 something caught in a lie. My husband brought our drinks to the table and after pouring my gin into the glass I noticed it was dirty...it had lipstick smudges around the rim. He took the glass back to her where she proceeded to tell him it was watermarks??? She then brought the condiments that had cake contents around the neck of the bottle. Our meal came and looked very nice. When I lifted a fork to eat I noticed it was dirtyso asked for a clean one, to be honest if her attitude was anything to go by,I am struggling to believe she actually changed the fork. The fish was OK I have tasted much better. I do not think it was fresh as it smelled fishy and shouldn't if it was fresh. Unhappy with the attitude of the barmaid my husband asked yo speak to the manager only to be told said barmaid was the 'acting manager for today'. She was not in any way helpful and did not seem to take our complaint seriously. First time at the Town Wall and we certainly would not go back. Shame. I suggest the Acting Managers get some more training especially on good Manners and also on cleanliness of condiments, glasses and cutlery. Also training on how to not give their opinion on whether a glass has lipstick on it or a fork is dirty...I didn't give a reason for the dirty fork for all she knew it had dropped to the floor. I have never experienced a member of Hospitality question why a clean glass or clean fork is required. This left a very bad taste. I would NOT recommend The Town Wall Newcastle.

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around this part of town when we decided to drop into The Town Wall Pub, this is a wonderful pub that was just a joy to visit. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here ,the interior is superb, it looks like a former Georgian townhouse ,the interior is cool ,multi roomed, light and airy, a solid wood serving bar dominates one of the rooms, eclectic decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a wonderful pub to visit. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, pub was just starting to get busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered a pale ale each from Wylam Brewery, these were served in pristine condition, we settled down and planned out the day we while sipping our pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, fresh, crisp ,hoppy but not overhopped, a delicate aroma and taste, on a really hot day a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Town Wall Pub we were totally impressed. The Town Wall Pub is easy to locate along Pink Street. Opening hours are;Monday to Thursday, Midday till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till 1am. Sunday, Midday till 11pm. I was dining at 'the town wall' this evening when I noticed bar staff using glasses to scoop ice into the glass, and not using proper ice scoops or tongs. When we received our tap waters there were pieces of glass in the water. We only realised there was glass in the water until we had drank it. I went over to the bar to complain to the manager but when at the bar I over heard two colleges joking about "Are You Trying To Kill Our Customers" which was very rude and disrespectful. We did complain to the bar manager who was more then unhelpful and did not apologies until I asked him to. And when I was at the bar speaking to the manager I could see that other customers were continueing to receive ice in their drinks. We were not at any point assured the ice had been disposed of or the problem was being delt with. After speaking to the manager we paid for our bill and left. One of our guests had a panic attack outside and I can feel pain in my throat. The situation was not delt well by the staff or manager and I would like there to be a full investigation and the bar staff to complete health and safety training. Including how to safety make drinks. Not coming again.

I was dining at 'the town wall' this evening when I noticed bar staff using glasses to scoop ice into the glass, and not using proper ice scoops or tongs. When we received our tap waters there were pieces of glass in the water. We only realised there was glass in the water until we had drank it. This is not a negative review. A couple of years since we were in the Town Wall we called in while visiting Newcastle. Plenty of ales etc. to choose from even if some were a tad expensive £7 a pint is expensive. Anyway settled for a cheaper pale ale at £5 a pint. Now to the bar itself the seating could do with a spring clean to but that said well layed out for visitors during these trying times.. We dined and the menu did not do the food justice. The fare was amazing, we will not visit Newcastle again without sampling the delights of the Town Wall. This bar delivers on all fronts. Would I recommend it, it's a big yes.Loved the bar.

The Town Wall on Pink Lane is an excellent pub that offers a fantastic food and drinks range and was one of the many pub's and bar's we went to on a six day city break in Newcastle and Whitley Bay.Housed in a superb grade-II listed building that was once the home of Thomas Bewick a really famous Northumberland artist and naturalist and engraver and this excellent building is called Bewick House. This Town Wall has a multi-roomed interior and is very spacious with many interesting features a downstairs cinama and superb seating options throughout the whole pubs interior and a superb outside seating area which was really busy when we visited as it was a roasting hot day.We visited early in the afternoon and I can honestly say I was very impressed with this pub. With an excellent range of cask beers and super friendly staff it's the ideal pub to have a few pints if ever you visit Newcastle. When we visited here we had a few glasses of Wylam brewery Pale ale a local ale from a local brewery which where excellent and well priced. The Town Wall is a superb pub and is really easy to find from Bewick Street bus stop its a minute away.(This is my first review of the Town Wall).Opening Hours.Monday-Thursday-12.00-22.00.Friday-Saturday-12.00-Until Late Sunday-12.00-22.00.Nearest Bus Stop. Visited about 4/5pm on a Sunday so appreciated the late service on the Sunday roasts. Food was great, not a big fan of a roast in general but this was great stuff. Each part of the meal was well-executed, right amount of food, meats were done very well, not a bone to pick with any of it. Very reasonably priced as well. Staff were friendly and service was good. The pub overall is well laid out, music was enjoyable. One of the better pub dining experiences I've had recently.

Great to see this bar open again, we went for drinks on Saturday afternoon. If was great you didn’t have to book so not rushed. Lots of tables available and spaces out. Staff friendly and good selection of drinks.

It's not the cheapest for pub grub but it's well worth the effort, no question about that. Highly recommended.

Kindly asked for an extra butter to go with a soup bun. Was refused and told they were extremely strict with their butters. It was one small butter.. ridiculous..

One of my favourite bars in the toon. It's a gin mecca. The raspberry gin and lemonade is to die for. Lovely micro terrace out the back if you need some fresh air. Funky tunes, and they often play my favourite local band 'smooch and turrell' on their playlist. Service can sometimes be slow on a weekend, more staff def required, and they should ease up on the ice a little. Too much ice really spoils the taste and temperature of your gin.
