The best restaurants serving British food in Middlesbrough North East

Visit often with people who I work with. They usually get a meal which always looks appetising. Premises need a good refurbishment as looking tatty at the moment. It’s always busy which indicates it must be doing something right!

Wonderful good quality food. However when i walked in i could barely breathe (in March!) it was so hot and humid. So I asked and the air conditioning was assured to me it was fixed last year and I would be put to a table where "I might feel something" as they said "I wouldnt feel anything" at the table I had booked. It was just as bad at the new table they eventually put us at - the busiest section in the restaurant, near the till. Then the waitress laughs and says (not jokingly) - "Before last year the air condioning hadnt worked for 10 years!". So I said "why did they move us to this bit 'Table 21'?", but she said "You can still only feel anything in that section over there!" (pointing nowhere near Table 21). So i doubt air conditioning works at all. The layout of the place is very confusing as is access to toilets. It's easy to bump into people . The app is good, the deals are good, the staff were nice though. If you have a bit of spare money it's good for a change, but woud prove costly to visit often.

Been for breakfast with peter rabbit today, with my 7 year old son, he has autism, staff where great with him, had a lovely breakfast which included plenty of soft play, juice and sweets, thanks you claire & erin for going out you way to make him feel comfortable, he loved every minute of the time we spent there and could not get him to leave, will be going to the next one.

Called in for treats only cash only as computer off do couldn’t collect my Greggs app points and free sausage roll ah well maybe next time ,display shelves were a bit empty but maybe time of day mid afternoon.decent visit lovely food service ok

Jenny served us for brunch, and she was an absolute star! She was always joking and smiling and made the brunch 10x better! The food was great, the drinks were greater. Great time.

It was an explorative visit, as I may be living in the area soon and it was a date between two of our birthdays, as a group of girlfriends, so another reason to try another place. We weren't disappointed, place was nice and clean, cosy, good atmosphere, good food menu comma good, quick service, friendly and welcoming bar staff.

Great place to bring family friend for a really great time. Brilliant staff and lovely food definitely give it top places for any special occasion. Shout out to jack Leah Sue and mark for a great evening.

Every time I visit Middlesbrough I eat here, its a traditional British cafe serving classic British food. There is lots of seating so you can share a table and chat to a stranger (its a northern thing) or sit away from people. Food is always good and budget friendly too.All the food I have had id home made, except for the scones? Some of the customers & staff are a bit ruff but in a good way, Middlesbrough is a ruff place, but you are safe. For me I always feel welcome and food is good.

Driver done a different stop before us went to a further house away from us then come to us food was stone cold by the time it arrived

Great place to have some drinks with friends with amazing food and good music all night long. Would definitely recommend to family/ friends! Great service from Amiee, Tegan and Ella !!

I ordered a dessert and it didn't come..... other than that it was good

Absolute waste of time and money. The girl put my soup through as tomato instead of chicken. Took it back after waiting 25 mins to return with the correct soup. This was cold so had to return it again the whole process took 40 mins to deliver the correct soup and the cafe wasn’t even full. Over £20 for soup a sandwich and 2 drinks. We will never dine here again the service is slow and the food mediocre.
