I must say that I was really disappointed. I ordered a shellfish paella which cost £19. It came in a small bowl. The rice was a sticky long grain rice with no rich colour to it. It had some shellfish in but it was so bland. It didn’t even look like a paella. Very disappointing. Staff were lovely but sadly I won’t be going back.

A visit six months ago shocked us when going for Sunday lunch, we were met with all that is get is chicken. Giving another chance we met friends for a meal and having ordering our foods were told no steaks or steak dishes were available, coincidence ?? The place was full of kids running around and screaming, this was around 9pm, these kids led to a near melee at the end of the night with parents and grandparents going into family battle. We had to ask three times when our food was coming, had to wait a long time for drinks orders and all in all this was a really poor night. The normal staff seem to have gone now and the new ones need some teaching on customer service and actually giving a s*** going to be along time unfortunately, before we go again

We love the tree bridge. It’s in a beautiful location and the service is great it’s clean and friendly and you can sit in the beautiful garden and have a drink looking out over the exceptional views. We had Sunday lunch and it could have been perfect but it was totally spoiled because the chef couldn’t be bothered making proper gravy! What a shame 😳 it was thick and gluttonous and I got a big gelatinous lump in the middle of my plate!! I was so upset because apart from that one thing my lunch would have been perfect 👌 Please tree bridge make some proper gravy it really does make a big difference and it will be the make or break as to if we come back 🤷‍♀️ it’s one of the few really good places to eat in the area so don’t spoil it

We had checked and were told that food orders were taken up to 5.00pm on a Sunday. We had booked a table for 4.45. Once shown to our table we were ignored (were we invisible?) for around 10 minutes before a waitress came with some menus and took our drinks order. We wanted one of the Sunday roasts. "There's no beef, no pork and only one portion of lamb". My wife graciously ordered the chicken, I ordered the lamb and the waitress went away. No drinks arrived, despite staff shuffling backwards and forwards. In the end we just decided to leave and go somewhere else. As we were leaving my wife spotted in reception the lady who had shown us to the table. Rather than any apologies and offering to sort things, she said "They should have brought them by now". It's a shame as the Tree Bridge has been a regular venue over the past 15 years or so, but with the recent staff changes it's gone downhill rapidly. We were there for lunch just over 2 weeks ago. Five of us, with a table booked. No one wanted a starter but we ended up waiting 40 minutes for food. Appalling.

I haven’t been to the treebridge in a long time so thought we’d visit tonight as a family and we definitely won’t be returning! Ordered fish and chips for my partner that was swimming in grease, cheese and tomato pasta for my daughter which she left because she said it wasn’t very nice (I could have made better at home) and I had chicken and chorizo pasta with a side of cheese garlic bread. The cheese garlic bread was £9 and was basically a cheap shop bought flat bread with some oil chucked on and some cheddar cheese, I attempted a piece as did my daughter but it so full of oil we couldn’t eat it. Everything is overpriced and really not worth the money. There were drunken couples (older I have to add who should have known better) swearing and discussing very loudly that somebody’s wife had tripped and fallen on somebody’s….shall we say private parts for the sake of the review, very graphic language, it was 5:30 and we were sat with our young daughter! Couples were moving tables to sit away from them, they were well aware of this the older woman’s response was “oh they’ve moved…s**t happens…. staff said nothing and it was just absolutely inappropriate language for that time of the day in a dining room where families were eating. To top it off I’ve thrown up since I came home….🤢. I wish I’d never suggested going here there are much nicer places locally to visit. Needless to say we had a terrible experience, do not recommend and definitely will not be returning.

We visited for an afternoon tea using a voucher bought as a birthday gift. When we presented the voucher after a lovely meal we were informed that the price had risen and we needed to pay the difference.[£5] This was very embarrassing both to myself as the buyer and my sister who had received it as a birthday gift. When purchased I was informed that the voucher was valid for a year. When I suggested to the lady on reception that it would be helpful to customers that this increase was mentioned when booking she was abrasive and said that they couldn’t be expected to check through every voucher. What a pity that such a pleasant meal was spoilt by this oversight. I have been a customer regularly over the years and felt let down on this occasion.

We have been going to treebridge hotel restraunt 5 or 6 times a year for the past 8 years with no complaints. The food and service has always been good in both choice and quality UNFORTUNATELY Last nights night's experience Was Not. We had gone as a party of four all of us having been before After being shown where to sit we were left, eventually having to ask to order drinks, a drinks menu was brought and left ,we eventually had to ask someone to order drinks again Service was slow eventually stopping a waitress to take our food order The starters were fine the main courses not so I don't know whether the kitchen was having a bad night but one of our mains came with the roast chicken over cooked and dry the worst part being the sauce for this ( various choices ) had to be ordered specially this was so salty and inedible that both a waiter and then the restraunt manager tried it and agreed it was not good. The other issues included soft floppy chips (normally really hot and crunchy) and the Caribbean curry on the menu stated prawns as part of the dish had no prawns in it We are not sure if things have changed both at the front of house and or the kitchen but this was not as we have become used to and hope it will be better next time we try Please note we have been so confident in the past to recommend Treebridge to our friends but at the moment last nights experience does not warrant it

We attended as a large group for a special birthday. We regularly visit this restaurant for special events and have always had a nice meal, but this time we were severely let down. The Gambas to start with turned out to be 4/5 tiny prawns on a slice of toast with some tomatoes, the mussels as a main meal were smaller portions than the starter portions and the sauce was tasteless. We asked for some extra bread and we’re advised it was £3.75 per portion, we ordered two portions and two small pieces of ciabatta arrived….at £7.50! The service was slow too. When the waiting staff asked of everything was okay we informed them that it wasn’t, one member of staff then argued back and got very defensive. Not professional at all. You asked how it was and we told you, don’t start arguing. We will not be returning, and that’s a huge loss for you as we usually spend a large amount of money as a big group. Not sure what’s changed as this place used to be lovely, but I certainly would advise against visiting.

Been using the tree bridge for many years, following Covid I have been twice, the first meal wasn’t too bad, today the service was slow with drinks taking a while, then lunch arrived but they missed the vegetables with the meal, we started to eat thinking they would arrive and did not. I could not get the attention of a staff member once food had arrived. Staff seemed to be rushing around maybe understaffed. Usually anywhere I eat staff come along to check everything is ok with the meal which would have solved the problem of only half a meal arriving. The management apologised and reduced the bill, when paying on leaving, however I would have preferred good food and service that is expected. I will be giving the Treebridge a miss from now on, and booking early into the Winstone View Bistro in future (2 miles away) better food and service all round.

Hotel is an old building set in attractive gardens. First impressions very good. My room was Maple. Sumptuously decorated, bedding well co-ordinated with decor. Bed very comfortable. Plenty of drawers and wardrobe room. Good bright LED lighting - unlike most hotel bedrooms, which I find to be under-lit. Desks, suitable for business travellers. Excellent meals, both evening meal and breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tastefully decorated throughout the public areas. I cannot speak to any extent about facilities for disabled. There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor, which will benefit diners, but bedrooms all appear to be upstairs. Only 12 steps with handrail each side. My wife, partially disabled, managed the climb a few years ago, but no special facilities for disabled in Maple. THE DOWNSIDE: The plumbing is somewhat erratic. A sign over the hand basin said "Run cold water before the hot." It took a bit of fiddling to get hot water, and at one stage warm water was coming out of the cold tap! However I did eventually run a hot bath. The power sockets suddenly went dead soon after I got up in the morning, though the ceiling lights were still working. I wanted to charge my mobile phone, and eventually did so in the dining room during breakfast. The manager managed to restore the power after several attempts. I was told that other bedrooms were similarly affected. I am not aware of any official star rating for this hotel, but taking into account the service, food, room quality, setting and general ambience I offer four stars. I would certainly recommend this hotel and will strongly consider staying here again the next time I am in this area. If it could solve its plumbing and electrical problems I could consider a fifth star. FINDING THE HOTEL: Take care. It is in Numthorpe old village, not modern suburban Nunthorpe based round the station. Road signage could be clearer. It is just off the A172 Middlesbrough to Stokesley road, near the junction with the B1292 road to Great Ayton.

Been a while since my last visit to this restaurant and as regular ladies what lunch my friends and I like to try different venues so we gave Tree Bridge a try. The food was delicious we both had the beef New Orleans the only criticism would be a couple of gristly bits of meat and chocolate orange brownies to follow. The staff were lovely and friendly but they are either short staffed or they need training on being a little more attentive we had to ask for the bill twice my drink order was incorrect despite the waitress going off to check if they had what I had asked for, a different girl brought the order over and said that’s the one that was asked for by the girl who took the order, I am sure it would have been swapped with no fuss but I kept the incorrect one as it was open and a flavor I like. Shortly after the ladies at the next table asked for water and it was brought to our table by mistake, these are not big things in my opinion just shows the service is bit disorganised and needs work. We will go back to see if this was just an off day as the food and atmosphere were good

We came here Friday evening for an early tea. We were one of about 4 couples in the bar area when we arrived so it was very quite. We ordered our meal from the special teatime menu 2 courses for £13:50 at 5:00 o’clock at 5:50 we still had no food. By this point the bar/restaurant was filling up and people after us were getting their food. I went to the bar and informed a bar staff member who went away to check. He came back and mumbled something about the waitress being in the restaurant. No apology or explanation 10 mins later our food came out.I had ordered chicken breast with peppercorn sauce chips and salad. My husband a roast pork dinner with veg and potatoes. Both meals were tasty enough but the pork dinner was so small and really not worth the £9:50 cost. Vegetable portion was really tiny. As previously mentioned the plates are really big and the dinner would have fit on a side plate so it looked lost. Our plates were cleared and we were asked if we had ordered deserts by a very pleasant bubbly waitress. We then had another 15 minute wait for desserts which were brought out by a waiter but no cutlery then he disappeared never to return. As we sat looking at our desserts the first waitress returned with cutlery saying that she had noticed we had no cutlery when she had taken someone else’s food out. Isn’t this the job of the waiter that brings out your food? My husband had ordered chocolate fudge cake and ice cream but again the portion was really small and mine was described as millionaires dessert with pouring cream. It was a marbled cake with icing and if it had not had pouring cream would have been so dry. Although it was a decent portion size. I would not return here the value for money is just not there. The bar area where you eat is quite dated and shabby and the service was really poor. There are nicer places to eat in the area which are much better value for money.

A couple of days after booking my sister found out she had to work & when we phoned up to cancel her booking, for 2 people management refused to give the £20 deposit back. I found this very unreasonable as it was a month before the event & not a last minute cancellation and they had plenty of time to resell this. This is not the way to treat people and due to this greedy attitude you have lost 6 potential customers.

Came for late Sunday lunch on 1.12.2018, after having some nice meals here previously. The restaurant failed to send vegan menu in advance, so told vegan in the party they could not order from this as they didn’t have ingredients. Offered other options one of which was fajitas, which the waitress assured us came with homemade guacamole. When it arrived it did not, the rest of the main meals were roasts, meat was average and Yorkshire puddings inedible. As it was a set menu we had to order 3 courses , ordered one dessert and served wrong one then lied to and told it was the right one! The vegan offering was banana fritters , which when it arrived was overheated bananas and sugar . It was inedible and sent back , and we refused to pay for this saying that it was not a banana fritter. The fruit crumble was over sweetened slop. Later we were approached by waitress and told banana fritters had been taken off the bill but the chef wanted to tell us fritters were bananas and sugar and not battered (I beg to differ) needless to say we won’t be back !

I then apologised for being awkward but requested the salmon and tomatoes separately. The waiter returned with a cold bowl of tomato salsa and still no salmon. At this point I was concerned that the food was getting cold so I poured the cold salsa into the pasta and reluctantly ate it.

We ate here 03rd sept 2018 for my mother In laws 70th birthday. We were sat in the bar- party of 8- some chose off the specials menu, some off the normal menu. All food was hot, plentiful, didn't wait too long for any of it. We all really enjoyed our food choices!

We ate on a quiet weekday evening. I had a Portobello mushroom burger. The lower half of the burger bun was completely soggy. The chips looked excellent but were undercooked to the extent of being barely edible. Service was slow, I had to go up to the bar to get someone to take payment after waiting about 15 minutes, no apology for the wait was forthcoming. Head into Stokesley and find somewhere better to eat..

Chose somewhere different for our weekly meal, can happily say we were quite pleased. Food was spot on, only grumble we had was we had to wait 20 minutes for a drink, other than that spot on.

Been several times on an early evening so decided to try the Sunday lunch. My wife and I both decided on the roast beef with a dessert at £14.95. The service was very good and we didn't wait long before it arrived. There was a mass of roast beef accompanied with roast potatoes, veg and mashed potatoes. All were cooked very well and very tasty. The dessert was also very nice. We both enjoyed the lunch and will go back.

I was extremely disappointed with the service. Nearly 1 hour wait between starter & main being served. Although the food when it arrived was very nice, no one came over to apologise for the long wait or even to ask if any further drinks were needed. We had booked our table for 6.30 and dessert was served just after 9pm by which time more than half of our party had left. We had ordered dessert for 4 people yet they couldn’t bring all 4 out together. I was so disappointed with the service received that I spoke with the manager, although she listened and apologised she didn’t say anything at all that would make me want to go back. This is also the first time I have felt strongly enough to write a negative review. I will not be rushing back to the Treebridge

I had haddock and chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce.... wife had chicken with stuffing , roast tats and veggies which where slightly under cooked which was a shame but please don,t let this put you off as i know some people like them this way. Wife had a chocie sweet and ice cream , i stuck to coffee and very surpraised on bill which was below what i expected.

This place used to be a pub that did meals but is now an eatery that does drinks. The food was OK but what we found missing was any atmosphere. The tables and chairs reminded us of a canteen and there was no cosiness.

We booked in advance as it was for a Saturday evening and arrived early but were offered our table without waiting. The restaurant was virtually full but everything worked perfectly with just the right amount of time given to study the menu and order. The party was two couples and we all agreed that our starters and mains were excellent quality. My 10oz sirloin (medium rare) was cooked perfectly. The only fault I could pick was that my peppercorn sauce lacked punch and was a little watery. A bottle of Merlot was reasonably priced too.

The quality of the food was excellent. I had pork steak with chips and salad. The chips were beautifully cooked and the balsamic vinegar made the salad. The cheesecake was lush.

We visited the Tree Bridge this evening for a quick mid week meal out. We weren't expecting too much in the way of variety however we were pleasantly surprised. There was an early bird menu served until 7pm as well as the usual menu on offer. We chose the pork tenderloin with cheddar mash x2 and a bear batter cid and chips. All of our meals were really well presented and were a good size for the portion (especially the cod and chips!). The pork was also gluten free with no need to alter the ingredients which was fab. We also had a sticky toffee pudding and a meringue bits and cream pudding. Again both were presented really well with good portion size although there could of been slightly more meringue for my liking! The total bill including a pint of black sheep and two soft drinks came to just over £65 which we thought was pretty good value for money! We will be coming back soon! Thanks Tree Bridge

Cute hotel with a bit of age. Friendly staff, efficient service, and fine food. Beautiful scenery all around, quiet place, very calming. Small breakfast selection but made to order, sufficient. Comfy bed, ok shower with basic amenities, complementary water in the room. One drawback is lack of elevators and the staircase is small and steep. Would stay here again if I'm the area.

Well organised with pleasant and efficient staff. Normally the 2 course specials of the day are good value. Was a little disappointed with the roast topside of beef, which slightly tough although some flavour. However, the taste of the meal was controlled by herby new potatoes which actually took over the whole flavour of the meal. A little disapointed

Visited 1st week in febuary for a teatime meal, Ordered our drinks and mentioned it wasnt very warm in the part of the restaurant we had sat in. Response was that its getting warmer (behind the bar?) Anyway we ordered our meals at the bar and sat waiting, which by this time we had noticed there were no radiators or any form of heating in our part of the restaurant, In febuary! Potato skins arrived nice but on the small portion size. followed by cod in sauce nice but again on the small size, BY this time i had my coat back on. Marble tables not really suited for a cold restaurant. Mentioned being cold whilst paying the bill which again was just shrugged off saying there was no heating in that part of the restaurant, as if this was my fault for sitting there. In summary nice food, small portions and sit where the heating is on or wear you woolies.

Me and my friend visited the Dickens Inn pub for lunch. We are students at Teeside University and regularly visited the Dickens.  We were greeted at the bar by a man called Mario that seemed to have a nice attitude and welcoming but that very quickly turned.  We ordered our food at 12:20. I ordered a ham and cheese panini and my friend ordered a chicken wrap. As we are student we only get 1 hour dinner break but usually we have more than enough time to eat. We waited patiently till 12:45 I then went to the bar and asked where the food was. The staff member Mario then rushed off and came out and shouted from a far distance “2 secs!” I then went back outside to my friend. It then got to 12:55 and we decided there wasn’t going to be enough time to eat and get to my next lecture which was at 1300pm. We then went to the bar and requested a refund as food shouldn’t take this long as it is a pub on campus I would’ve hoped food would be delivered in a more timely manner. The staff member (Mario) shouted from a distance again shouting “Oi, girls” we looked round in shock we had just been called out so rudely as he had the food in his hands but by this time it was too late, we explained to him we didn’t have time to eat it, he then turned around and walked back into the kitchen with our food. Mario then started slamming objects down shouting to his colleague that we wanted a refund in anger which made me and my friend quite frightened and uncomfortable when he did this.  He then started waving his arms in the air making us feel scared. His colleague then came round the bar and gave me and my friend a refund in cash however I paid on card but didn’t get given the option for a refund via card. A scary and belittling experience for two young students.

Rude manager. Called to check for milkshakes and told us to come over. After we came over she said the machine just broke and was rude on top of all. Absolutely pathetic. She needs coaching on how to be a manager no customer experience what so ever.
