Went here this morning to spend ÂŁ11 on 2 sawdust sausages, the smallest rashers of bacon , quarter of a plate of mushrooms a lake of beans to rounds of toast with margarine. I didn't get asked if I wanted the tea or coffee that came with the breakfast. All in all not impressed as apparently the waitress was in training. And won't be back again I can see why the breakfast scene is getting smaller each day if the service is poor .

I use this cafe fairly frequently and I realised that I havenât give it a review yet!! I sometimes visit with family or friends and the food is always hot and tasty and good size portions. The owner is always polite and friendly and makes you feel welcome. It is my favourite cafe in Harold Hill. I can personally recommend the chicken bacon and lettuce (Harold wrap) it is lovely.

We used to order from Caspians regularly but tonightâs now going to be the last time. Itâs slowly gone down hill, I donât know if itâs because we have it delivered by justeat they think itâs ok to send inedible food or if itâs what everyoneâs served. You arenât guaranteed to have all items you have ordered delivered to start with, tonight the mince beef and onion pie was missing, you call them and itâs the âthey arenât our drivers thereâs nothing we can doâ well correct me if Iâm wrong but the drivers donât pack the food do they?! So itâs not down to the drivers that items are missing in this case. My partner asked them why have the standard of the chips gone down? The response from the shop was âGet your chips elsewhereâ - say no more Caspians, thatâs exactly what we will do going forward and of course we will inform everyone that maybe they should try that too if they want something edible. The sausage in batters were dripping in grease. The mince beef and onion pie - which I was taking a chance on tonight because before it tasted like it was made in 1845 and left sat there didnât even turn up - probably a blessing in disguise to be honest with the state of the chips. The chips medium portions are the same as the small portions that I ordered no size difference. Majority had to be binned because they were either green, black inside, had growths on them, were rock hard and in general just not edible. I do not recommend Caspians anymore, dirty stale chips (Iâve attached a photo and thatâs not even showing the full extent) that are either inedible or taste like mud, so much grease on the cod bites, sausage in batters (pink inside) and fish cakes that it was nausea inducing for the kids - who usually eat anything, missing items from order and rude staff, all in all expensive rubbish! No thank you to wasting anymore money. So yes we will take the shops fantastic customer service advice that they gave my partner and get our fish and chips from elsewhere! I can if anyone else is interested recommend Chippers fish bar if that helps others at all.

Found this place after parking our car in the shopping hall to collect something locally. Looks like a very traditional, well established place, with extensive menu. We ordered the roast of the day and a steak & kidney pudding. The cafe was very busy but it was still too long a wait for our food. The s&k pudding came out eventually, but my roast was about 10 mins behind it. Food was home-cooked, tasty and a good portion. But they do need to speed up service and bring all meals out together. They seem to have lots of staff, so not sure where the problem lies, perhaps the menu is too big. Liked the place overall and would go again, but not if I was on a schedule!

During the refurbishment we went to another pub quiz but it just wasnât the same as Kaeti wasnât there reading the questions and making us laugh! Vicki, Stacey and Tina also make us feel welcome and are always serving with a smile. The Crumpled Horn are lucky to have them all!
