Went for a meal with my Dad and had a lovely time. The Manger (Seb) help us pick out a new burger, which I must say is 10/10 everything was well cooked the pub had a sence of family. My Dad enjoyed the cider Inches so he had 2 of them and I had a Coca-Cola with a lemon that you again Seb

Ordered food at 13:10. Did not get it till 14:05 so was late coming back from lunch. It was not even that busy so the reason for the slowness is difficult to understand.

I visited the windmill in Upminster for a drink on a Thursday night, although the pub wasn’t busy there was still a nice atmosphere all round. I was served by both Caitlin and Tash and they were lovely throughout the whole evening. Overall a great experience!

I visited this pub for food and it was delightful. The Guinness is superb and expertly poured with a shamrock as well. Very impressive. The staff are all great, service by Jack, Caitlin and Tash is phenomenal. The manager Seb keeps on top of everything and makes sure all customers are checked on and that everyone is happy. Would recommend highly

Went on a moderately quiet Monday night but still had a lovely warm feel to the pub with nice customers and friendly bar staff. Was served by Tash majority of the evening and was always a friendly service. Was greeted when arriving and leaving. An overall lovely experience with great food and drinks

I was in the windmill on the 23rd of February this year at 3 pm ,it was packed ,we were celebrating my friend’s dads 95th birthday we wanted to order some food for all of us but the waiting time was too long , especially for a 95 year old , there was one bar staff serving behind the bar who was also bringing out the food ,obviously this was not her fault she was working very hard. Please can you explain why on a busy Friday you only had one bar staff working. I drink in the windmill regularly and have noticed severe lack of staff

Met some members of our family there for lunch. Food was good but unfortunately there was no tea or coffee available as their machine was out of order and they were waiting for it to be repaired. The staff were polite and efficient.

I have been here 3 times. First time waiting over an hour for food and wasn't busy. Second time come out no problem. Come today and waited an hour and 10 minutes for chicken tenders! Kept being told its being "plated up". 20 minutes later and apparently still being plated up.

Absolutely lovely pub, with wonderful food, an amazing set of staff and just a lovely atmosphere in general. Can't wait to go back there again for a great night and some brilliant entertainment!!! :))

Food was brought out quick, and very tasty. Service was good, one member of staff but never waited for a drink at the bar. First time ive ever been here il deffo come back if im in the area.

Bar staff of 3 more interested in tucking themselves away in the office for a chat and a giggle than actually making the ordered drinks, horribly overcooked food we had to send back.

Absolutely brilliant, no nonsense pub with a very good roast regarding quality and quantity. The service was second to none both barmaids/ waitresses were very nice to talk to and clearly hard working..I hardly ever had a bad meal or experience in a green king and this lived up to expectations (the toilets were also clean and up to standard)

Service was first class. 7th January '24. She were brilliant! Typical Green King establishment. Decor, so-so. Toilets very clean but need maintenance. Pub food. Music not too loud.

Batman Sebastian has been exceptional this evening. On his own behind the bar at Christmas, the extra staff supposed to arrive at 6pm called in sick and he was unflappable. Also first night on at this pub. Thank you for making our work drinks a good night 👍🏻

10 people. All food was great. All service was good & no waiting at bar. Food included chicken wings, lasagne, gammon, burger, chicken wings so a good spectrum & all nice. The reason for 3 stars is state of toilets. 2 buckets under separate urinals filled to top. The floor was ankle deep & I would have thought a massive slip hazard. The girls told us the ladies was horrendous too. It cannot be hygienic to be walking in urine around a restaurant! Update : visited a few times & gotta say the staff are great & quick at serving. Although very busy.

Such a shame the toilets are a mess again 🙄 mens toilets are out ot action again for a week so the men are having to use the disabled toilets very disappointing for such a big company

They were severely understaffed. I felt really sorry for the bar staff. We ordered a drink on the app. After 50 minutes we enquired where it was. Don't have an app if you're going to ignore it. Come guys another person behind the bar would make it better for everyone. Probably won't be going back.

Came in the tried the new festive menu. Tear and share wreath was good. Served by Lee who was a joy.

I booked a club meeting for a total of 15 pensioners at this pub on the 14th. manager Lee had arranged tables and chairs for us in the small set-off area giving us some privacy and everyone chose a meal from the 'seniors' menu. I feared that at lunch time our meals would be subject to delays. Not so. Lee said he was ready with our starters as soon as everyone was seated. Our group had a full selection from the seniors menu and the feedback was that the food was delicious and sufficient for us pensioners and excellent value for 3 courses. The food was delivered promptly, hot and with a smile by Caitlin. She was quick to answer any query from our pensioners. Highly Recommended for a place to eat in pleasant surroundings.

Meeted up with friends from the area, chose the windmill, staff super friendly and the food was amazing. Was served by Caitlin who was so nice and couldn’t do enough for us. Would highly recommend!

A young man with long blond luscious locks named Alfie served me extremely well was polite and happy to help was very efficient at his job 10/10 would recommend had the time of my life .

Great venue for Tuesday Quiz night. Unlike some other quiz nights people don’t get too serious about it. Food is great value. Bar staff helpful and friendly.

On Thursday 14 September 2023, My wife and I visited the Restaurant at this Public House. We were very impressed with the Service that we received from The Bar man David. He was friendly and he seemed to know the Menu well. He brought our meals and served our desert very professionally and checked frequently that we had everything we needed. We would go again.

Local chain pub. Standard pub food, good value for money. Service friendly, nice atmosphere. Would recommend

The Barman on shift was an absolutely fantastic guy and couldn't do enough for us,really sorry I didn't get his name,only gave three stars for atmosphere as there were not many people there when we popped in for lunch 😀

Nice local pub. Martin and his team make this a great place to meet up with friends for a drink or a bite to eat. There’s a good food menu at reasonable prices - whether it’s a snack or good pub grub.

Myself and my family often visit the windmill as it is the heart of the local community. It has been especially pleasing to welcome Martin back and his presence has already lifted the place post covid with many noticeable differences. The staff all work very hard and the place is getting back to exactly what is was a 1st class place for the local community to enjoy food and drinks and a good old fashion catch up! Well done Martin & Team !

Great local pub with a good selection of beers on tap and nice beer garden. Bar staff always really friendly and we've had many enjoyable Saturday nights with live music.

Went to the Windmill pub today with a couple mates for a few drinks and something to eat, the service was lovely. A member of staff Adam was very welcoming and made the pub a great atmosphere for all. Had a really enjoyable time.

Heard they was doing bogof burgers so popped in to give them a try. Bacon and cheese burger was really tasty, my friend had the southern fried chicken, it looked good. We was served by Adam who chatty and engaging. Will be back for sure!

Found this lovely pub 10 mins away from the station, reasonable prices, service was great, beer garden had trees around, away from the road, I have to say the service was friendly and willing to help, the desserts was tastety, melted in your mouth. Would definitely go again. The found was great.

This is the worst pub I’ve ever been in. The service was absolutely horrendous. The bar staff didn’t know what they were doing except to apologise for keeping us waiting. We waited one hour and ten minutes before we got any food which was mediocre, and still had to wait for the rest to arrive. DO NOT GO THERE. We eventually got our money back and walked out x

Did not have a full menu so couldn't have what I would have chose

Very disappointing. Waited for 1 1/4 hrs for food. 2 senior two courses (13.98) I main course burger with cheese 10.99. As I was xharged 36.65 I can only assume that 1 appeltise and a cup of tea cost almost £12. Had to chase the food twice. Peas were cold and hard. The burger came out without accompaniment as detailed on menu. Trying to chase staff was very difficult. Asked for the cup of tea that was ordered 3 times: two staff said it was someone else's job. I hr 40 after ordering - and paying we are still waiting for the cuppa. Appaling service

A happy bunch of people hang out in this pub so the management are doing a great job in that respect . The prices from what I saw are very competitive although we didn’t eat so can’t offer an opinion on that. I.also remember they had a flood here in the winter in the cellars so a dank odour is present and all doors are open but nothing can be done about that . What can be helped is in the gents some fragrance giving cleaners could do with being put in the urinals just to take the edge off of it in there . Anyway the locals are happy so all is well !

Great to see Martin back and without a doubt the gravitas he provides in delivering service and standards is instant. The new member of the bar team (her first day) delivers service with a genuine smile and efficiency. The potential to have a career in GK.

We came here as a family for dinner - never again! There’s a very loud group of men that congregate near the bar area - they seem to think they run the place. They are rude, loud and obscene. The group of women were no better with them too - the language. Yes, I know it’s a pub but very off putting. One man in particular in glasses is so loud and rude - smoking constantly in the door ways and shouting out ‘bosh’ every 1 min, I think this is more of a loud larger joint than an earring establishment.

Went there for a birthday lunch and it's honestly appalling. The table we reserved hadn't been cleaned, and was wobbly, which with a toddler is super fun. The glasses were filthy. One order a steak rare which come back medium/well done. One ordered gammon egg and chips which was so greasy it was sliding around the plate. One ordered a salad with grains, with rocket lettuce and avocado. This came back without any rocket or avocado, very limp lettuce plus chicken, when this person didn't order the chicken as they are a vegetarian. One ordered a chicken and avocado sandwich which barely had any avocado. All of the chips had black flecks which is caused apparently by dirty oil. Charming. When ordering the meal and talking to the barman, I was interrupted by another barstaff looking for a lighter, the person stopped serving me to help them look for one. On top of a 45 minute wait, absolutely had no interest in complaining or sending back food, as we didn't have another hour to spend waiting. There was also no tea or coffee available as the machine had broken. A terrible time was had by all. No a meal to be remembered. Going by the other comments and replies , John please don't worry about leaving a number for me to call you on, we won't be returning.

Great food and really lovely service. The staff were very accommodating and a really good menu full of variety. There was something for everyone. I was impressed with my toddlers chicken it was cooked really nice, soft with a chargrilled taste he loved it... this was my previous review which was a 5 star. Unfortunately my visit today couldn't be further away from this. It was actually shockingly bad. I was so disappointed as I took my brother, parents and my son for lunch here as I was so impressed the last time. Most of the items were not available such as steak or helloumi chips. The menu was a little different. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive. We told them to bring all the food as it was cooked and not to wait especially as we have a hungry toddler with us. Firstly the glasses provided were filthy. They had dirty marks with pink lipstick stains. The starters came 45minutes after we ordered. When we asked what was going on the girl responded that she hadn't been told to cook the mains which took another 20mins. We ended up buying crisps to try and keep my toddler entered. The starters were decent but the mains were shocking. We wanted chicken fillets with chips. They said they don't do this but we said its on the kids menu , we asked if we could order double portions so it equates to an adult meal. So they said they can do that. We ordered 3 x 2 kids chicken fillets so 6 portions. They only bought two out to which we ending up sharing as apparently they didn't charge us but we never got a receipt so we couldn't check. We ordered two side salads , only one arrived but I couldn't believe my eyes. They served old lettuce one big leaf which was shrivelled up and turned dark brown. My father took this in and asked if the chef would eat this salad if served to them and the waitress said ill bring you a fresh one. My father said no thank you it should have been fresh the first time. The chicken was deep fried and then chargrilled. Some bits were pink and some chewy and slimy with fat. I should have taken a photo of it all but only managed to take a photo of the chicken. I ate one half but the second half was inedible. The chips had black flecks all over it and stunk of stale oil. I didn't want to cause a scene because I was there to have a nice time with my family and to be Frank the staff were not bothered. We didnt finish the mains half of the chicken was inedible the chips stunk of old oil. The lovely service and lady that served us last time was not there. The food quality and cleanliness was not there. We will not be coming back again. It was very embarassing for me and very disappointing.

Very sad to hear that there is change of management happening again. John and Adam have done an amazing job changing the fortunes of this business. It'll be a shame to see the place go downhill as everyone has done so well with the place. Greene King don't have a clue what they're doing. All the best to John, Adam and everyone else leaving.

Bacon and blue burger consisted of a small overdone burger, one rare bacon rasher,a tiny smear of blue cheese accompanied by a dozen fries and 2 onion rings for £11.99. Shocking!

Since Sandra passed away (RIP) and Martin not around this previously brilliantly run and best pub in upminster is shocking. It’s quite clear that Geene King also do not have a regional management structure or care.

Beer and drinks were fine, but the gents toilet was an absolute disgrace. Black mould was alll over the cubicle I'm surprised that the building hasn't been closed by the LA. Will not be coming back.
