Caspian Sea Fish Bar in Havering

I have been coming to caspian since i moved to Romford, amazing staff always on point with food, its nice to have a conversation while i wait for food. When i see they are busy and i placed my order i have no issue waiting as it allows them to have ease when preparing, nothing wrong with having patience. Food is great. Poor customer service from the 2 women (one older and one younger) who work there. You get attitude from them just for asking questions. For this reason I would never go back there.

I placed an order online and forgot to order the curry sauce.I phoned Caspian to see if I could get this added to the order and pay in cash .I was told this could not be done.When the order arrived there was a pot of curry sauce with a smiley face.What a lovely gesture, my new favourite chippy in Romford.Will definitely be order again.The fish and chips and chicken was amazing. Thank you !

I have lived in Romford all my life and have never found a good fish & chip shop. I ordered from Caspians first time today, regret not doing it earlier!!! Best fish & chips in Romford! Food was fresh and amazingly tasty. My new fav fish & chip shop which il be ordering from going forward!

Waited 30 mins for my food to be told they have forgot to do my order told me be another 15/20 min /50 min for fish and chips and mushy peas Will not be going back especially when been working all day and starving and got to deal with spastics

Tried the cod and donor meat, both fantastic. Just feel either the portion could be slightly bigger or slightly cheaper otherwise all good.

Always place ordered from here. I believed the reason behind the taste fish and chips and all other food items is freshly made, price are reasonable as compared to other shops. Friendly staff specially the owner, never seen him angry or rude with staff. Thanks for your services in collier row Romford.

Ok the chips are some point best most fish and chip shops are sometimes soggy but this fish and chip shop have the best Chips! hot and fresh and onto the fish Im so amazed it was YUMMY! it will fresh cooked and a yummy taste to it. but the seating arrangement isn't good maybe extend the shop a bit so people can dine in. and the service Is best the lady was very nice! ill be coming back soon!

Their medium COD is huge with the 7 something pound it costs. Well worth it, also the most chips I get for a medium £3 in my area

This place claims to have the best fish and chips in romford. It certainly wasn't the cheapest, but cod prices are insane everywhere these days. In anycase the food was excellent. Batter was thin and beautifully golden. Fish was thick and meaty tasted fresh and was fried really nice. The doner kebab was nicely sliced and was much better than average quality with plenty of ingredients and sauces to select from in the menu. Overall I highly recommend. Big Thumbs-up.

Local Favourite! I have been to many fish & chip shops in and around Romford/Collier Row. This place is always tasted better! Fish & Chips is always Fresh and so worth the wait! Plus the owners brother is a Hammer fan too!! 😎⚒️ x

Whenever I've gone here the foods been great, prob the best chips and portion sizes anywhere! The kebabs are so good , the staff are also always very pleasant to deal with.

Absolutely amazing little fish shop nice and hot soft in the middle crispy outside chips the curry sauce was outstanding and the sausages where cooked to perfection and so tasty plenty of salt and vinegar and they where lush amazing staff freindly chatty and very nice 😋

I've just started getting my fish and chips fix from here. And I'll say this, fantastic fish and chips.

I would suggest try working at your batter recipe, it's too gummy on the outside, which makes it hard to bite with soggy flour underneath the crust. Either fish or sausage this batter needs attention Matey!

Most Fridays, my Husband, who has Dementia, likes to have a piece of Cod. I phone the order through for him and he goes to collect. The staff are always very polite and helpful and the Fish is amazing. Thank you.

Ordered food through Uber Eats. On delivery I thought they had sent the wrong order as there were 3 pies and a whole box of chicken wings I hadn't ordered. But due to being nearly closing time they had thrown these in as extras. But what really made my night was the hand written note they had added to our order " Footballs Coming Home" thank you Caspian Sea the food was delicious and the added extras made the 4-0 win that much sweeter!

Food was excellent, I ordered delivery via Uber Eats and it was packed well and was warm on arrival. I requested vinegar packets on the side with my chips but as they didn't have any they gave me a full bottle instead! Amazing customer service and I will definitely return if I am in the area again.

Been going to this chippie from the day it opened lately new member of staff has started working a very rude lady who has no customer care or manners and is always moody I find her so rude that I have stopped going there plz find another fish bar collier row next closing one also noticed portions have shrunk had a chip roll and could count the chips £3 rip off! If I was the owner of this shop I would get rid of the woman she is losing you customers or teach her some manners

So we ordered on line, item was missed off our order, I called the shop who couldn’t apologies enough and within a couple of minutes we had the missing food plus some complementary sweet treats. I would highly recommend to everyone, the food was fresh and hot. Excellent customer service thanks.

The food and customer service are always great!

Absolutely disappointed in what was delivered. The batter was Burnet to a crisp. Pulled all apart to get to the fish to at least eat something and there was now way it was a large fish. You might as well go to the coast to at least get a decent fish and chips as this shop can not even get the number dish right.

Lovely food and staff are friendly. If its busy you might have to queue outside. Call ahead and save some time. Not tried their full menu just cod, chips and sausages. Large Cod and chips is enough for 3 kids under age of 11. Medium Cod is a good size but if your hungry you can get through it.

Absolutely 5* service, delivery is on point, food is high quality and tastes so much better than others in the neighborhood. The portions are pretty large and cheap given the size of it. Great service from the young guy over the counter, excellent personality and very friendly staff. Having been working from home over the last couple months, this chippy has become my favorite, I order 2-3 times a week and would really recommend to those looking for a nice meal in good time. Make sure you try out the Haddock, unbelievably great!

When Caspian opened several years ago I wasn’t impressed but just had Haddock & Chips and it has improved 100% must be new owners, and I am very, very fussy on my fish and chips, keep it up Caspian, I will be back 👍

Get the fish and chips all the time and never disappoints! I didn't add chips one time to my order and they sent me a little portion with a lovely note!

My first time here and just wow... the portions are huge! I must say the chips were perfect👌🏻 and the small cod was not small at all, more like a large compared to other chippies. Prices are ok, some are steep but if you are expecting decent food then i supppse you wouldn’t mind.

Amazing customer service, polite and friendly staff that were very helpful. The food was really great, fresh fish and tasty chips. Overall great!

In short: • Quality food • Great service • Very hygienic • Speedy deliveries The shops had a little reshuffle, If you haven't been here definitely try it, If you've been here before give it another go. You'll be surprised happily. Lovely little shop and the only one for miles, they haven't let this get them complacent though always had a laugh waiting for my meal and some times i get something small just to eat as an appetiser whilst they have the whole meal prepped for the family :) I prefer to go in and see the lads but the occasions that i do get delivery they are always spot on for a customer thats been using them for a while whenever theres been a problem they note it down to makesure it never happens again... Best part is near one of the first times i ordered a delivery there was a mistake and when i rung em they took my complaint seriously and resolved it by the next visit. No questions about the quality of the food, 100% on the hygiene haven't seen any other restaurants taking it more seriously.

I visited this shop today around 12.10 & ordered for chicken burger meal ... the chef used his left bare hand to turn buns in a second he received a delivery 📦 with the same hands and paid cash to the driver and started his cooking process literally without washing his hands I felt so disgusted to eat . I dunno wat to even say to this chef as I thought he might get offended and customers who were waiting behind me so just took the food and chucked in the bin because I literally witnessed how hygienic it was ...

Shocking service. Just ordered through Uber eats. Quick delivery but missing item on order. Take a wild guess what it was. The CHIPS!! Of all things to miss. Ring up and get told they have 1000’s of orders can I come out (bearing in mind were in lockdown) to collect the missing chips. Never order again from here I’m shocked how a fish and chip shop can forget chips?????

This chippie opened about four years ago and right from the start, everybody was raving about it. The chips were lovely and the fish was the best quality. Word got out and the place was really busy for a while. Then the cracks appeared. First off, the chip portions were huge, in fact too big which is like throwing the profits away. Secondly, when they took an order, the customer was not given a numbered ticket to claim their food. This led to rows occurring in the shop and customers being put off due to the amateur set up. At about this point the business was sold to somebody else. As money was draining, the first move was to cut the chips thinner so not square but longer one way than the other. This results in sloppy chip which picks up too much oil and turns to a soggy mess. Next move was fitting a kebab grill in what is a tiny shop. Bad idea!!. Final nail in the coffin was changing the fish supplier presumably, as the once beautifull fish now tastes very second rate. None or very few of us locals, frequent the place and the staff most nights sit looking out the window quite despondently. How to run a successful business into the ground. BIG SHAME!

Twice I’ve been to this place and had bad experience, Fiat time my order was short of a pie and a sausage I called ten and was spoke to rudely then I went again, the size of the chips was small and expensive and even got looked at funny when I put a lot of vinegar in my chips.. will not make the mistake a 3rd time

Best experience of my life. Really good service and staff are super kind, the owner gives me some chips while I wait for my food. Wait times for food are not ideal if you're in a rush but the food is heavenly. If i could give it 6 stars i would. Kudos to all the lovely employees and the kind owner!!! I come here every fortnight and it is what I look forward to after a long week. It is a very hygienic place. Wonderful.

I have visited this outstanding fish and chips restaurant on several occasions as this is a 2-3 minutes walking distance from our home. I am a big fan of their ‘large’ cod - it is really LARGE(you might struggle to finish it), well cooked, and the batter is minimal without adding lots of unnecessary layer and calories to it. I usually give the chips a miss and enjoy the fish on its own. A very close friend of mine came to visit us from the USA, and he absolutely loved the large cod fry. My wife is a BIG fan of their cod roe - again a really tasty option. There is also haddock and plaice on offer. This is mostly a take-away shop, however, if you wanted to ‘dine-in’, there are a few tables, and there is no extra charge for dining in. They have recently started offering kebabs. Highly recommended, and really good value for money.

Bought the XL chips last njhht for £4 and couldn't believe the size of their portions. The chaps serving were great too.

Very disappointed food come 2 just under 30£ and all went in the bin. Unfortunately will not ever use again after using for a long time do not use unless u want soggy cod stuck together chips if I could give no stars I would have I had all ready complained when I ordered my meal about the last bit off cod I ordered from you. You said you would not charge for one peace. But yet you did. and had I been able to get back to your shop I would have brought all the food back it was absolutely awful as I said it went in the bin and I had to end up cooking as I had just wasted 29.70. Or 29 90 I do not like leaving bad reviews for any shop but as I said the food was Not nice and for a family of 5 we all could not eat what you had served

I spent £15 & the cod roes & savaloy's were stone cold, and the chips were luke warm. It wasn't the time it took getting it home as I only live 2 minutes away.

Friendly staff and good fish and chips! Excellent variety on menu and love the fact they now do kebabs too. Perfect local chippy, just a shame they don't open on a Sunday :( Portions are amazing size (we get a large chips between two of us but a regular would probably suffice) and the fish is great too. Great service when ordering by phone too, to avoid a wait. Recommended!

Really poor food, cod was hard and chewy, my wife's Rock had a chemical taste and the food was really greasy, the smell in my car is still present after 3 days.... definitely a place to avoid

Visited a couple of times recently for the first time. On both occasions Fish was prepared to how I requested on the phone before collecting. Huge portions so good value. Well done.

Really disappointed whilst visiting my mum we decided to have fish and chips. Our cod was really dry hard and chewy and the chips were cold. Totally inedible a waste of money! Wish I’d waited till I’d got home and gone to my local 😞

Had an amazing experience at Caspians Sea Fish Bar! The food portion is great and affordable prices. Staff are very friendly, service was quick and was greeted upon arrival and I would like to also mention the place is very clean and hygienic! I will be back soon!

If you want a large portion of chips this is the best place to go. Cannot comment on anything else.
