The best restaurants serving British food in Stevenage East of England

Went there for a late breakfast, but when i read the specials on the notice boards, I was blown away from the very good and tasty breakfasts, to the Specials he is adding to the Menu. This week was toad in the hole (See photo) It look good and very appealing , when it was served, it was a large portion which was very hot and tasted like good old mum used to make. People were looking at it when i was being served, and their choices for their lunch changed to the toad in the hole. It was soon sold out. Shane assures us that it will be back on the menu tomorrow. Ideal place for a freshly cooked fish and chips. The members of staff always served their customers with a smile.

Service was really attentive and polite, Food was delicious and fast to arrive. Wanted something slightly different to the menu and was no problem at all, really good value for money food was delicious and inexpensive ! Never been before but would 100% recomend little hidden gem!

The guy said to me tonight we nearly shut but still had my order. Everytime me and my partner order here we are not dissapointed! Quality high quantity good service and taste off the charts! I am not from stevenage and this is the best place for chicken wraps in my opinion.

Went for a family Christmas meal today and it was outstanding. The table was decorated really tastefully and the little cards with our names and menu choices on were a lovely touch. The food was amazing and the service spot on. Thank you for making it a very enjoyable day.

Love this restaurant. Great atmosphere, always bustling, super friendly staff but most of all the food ... Best poached eggs ever. Definitely remmend a visit if you love your Bellini Brunch.

We had are breakfast in here with other family members and the food was still delicious and you can have as much as you wanted to and help yourself,the drinks were freshly made, would highly recommend this restaurant.

Great pub . Green King have done a great job of the refurb , however the landlord / landlady HAVE to out their phones away . EVERYTHING is recorded on their phones . You’ll be waiting to be served a drink and they’re both stood there recording (without permission) everyone in the pub . I don’t want to be on their social media and it’s starting to put me off going back . Please SORT IT OUT

Not impressed at all,food was nearly cold,very disappointing.Came as a family on Christmas Eve.Will not be returning.

The most horrible landlady with bad manners I have ever come across anywhere she is definitely in the wrong job couldn't run a bath won't see me in there again

We go to the Old Forge every few weeks. It is the place we choose by default when we decide to eat out without planning. We like the place and the atmosphere and the children are not complaining of the food. The portions are generous and the prices are adequate. The only issue is that it can be crowded, on weekends there is a waiting queue for the roast meat. If you go on Saturday afternoon or Sunday it is better to make a reservation at least half a day in advance.

Their shakes are absolutely amazing, so tasty and good for the prices. Only let down at the minute is the timings on the door for their opening hours are wrong and so on google it may say they are open but when turn up it is locked??
