Had my 65th birthday lunch here . There were 9 of us and I was delighted to find that we were seated in a private dining room upstairs . It was absolutely perfect . The food was very good , well cooked and good value . Everyone had a wonderful time and the staff were very friendly and effective . The restaurant is definitely a step up from say a gastro pub /bistro . But without being in the fussy fine dining end of eating out . I you have a small lunch/dinner party then having one of the private rooms makes for a delightful experience that I can heartily recommend

Maybe not the best thing to do before a pillates session in the sports centre, but I was early, so I had a couple of pints before. Never been here before but was delighted with the service from the young lady serving behind the bar tonight. Didn't get her name, but she made sure the footy was on , after my session. Even got a booth to myself. Don't do my villages every week but when I do, I know which pub in Harpenden I'll visit for a refreshing reward to myself. All due to the young lady behind the bar tonight. Will definitely be back.

Unfortunately it was closed today maybe because it’s allegedly being sold Hopefully it will remain as a breakfast cafe Clean quick service friendly staff Great large set menu or choose your own food set meals are large with door step toast or bread Poss the best cafe in the town Still up to it’s usual quick service high standards good food reasonable price

The food is absolutely delicious. And the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our server was Jackie and she was wonderful. We had the roasts. I had pork belly and my wife had chicken. Both of which were so tasty and came with loads of trimmings. We couldn't believe that we got a table so easily. This place should be packed out all the time..the food is that good. And great value too.

Went to miller and carter for Christmas Day lunch. The restaurant was busy but not fully booked as there were plenty of empty tables with guest trickling in through out the afternoon. The staff were all welcoming and polite. They were very accommodating when we had to change our table to downstairs as a family member couldn’t manage stairs. However the food was disappointing for the money charged, the bread served was dried out, the starter (king prawns) were burnt from the charcoal grill. The turkey was moist and tasty but the broccoli was burnt (not sure how it was cooked) and the cauliflower cheese was stone cold. Finally the cheese cake topped with profiteroles dessert was stodgy and all 5 desserts were pretty much untouched. They looked like they were frozen desserts that had been thawed out. The waitress didn’t even say anything when she cleared our plates. The overall experience left us disappointed and would not recommend M&C for Christmas Day lunch at all.

We had a birthday lunch there and, although we waited a fair while for the food, it was absolutely delicious when it arrived. The staff were lovely & apologetic for the delay. The atmosphere was a little lacking but that was probably because we had a late lunch & were the only people in there. We’d definitely go back again, maybe on M, T or W evening when they have 2 mains for £25.
