We had a great meal and the service from Connie was excellent! We will be back soon! She remembered everything from our long list of orders and was super attentive!

Food was great, the service was very good but it could have just been slightly quicker. I regret not having the beef roast and went for chicken. It was still very tasty and great, but I’m a beef person and should have stuck to my guns!

I went here with my family and got served by the wonderful Imogen she was so lovely and looked after me and my family. We had a laugh and a joke and made everyone feel very welcomed as it was our first visit to The George. It’s a great atmosphere and the selections are amazing and suited for everyone. Would definitely recommend!!!

I recently had the pleasure of being served by Imogen at the George of Harpenden, and I can't recommend her enough! From the moment we arrived, she was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she provided excellent recommendations that truly enhanced our dining experience. Imogen's attentive service and friendly demeanor made our visit memorable. If you're in the area, definitely ask for her when you go! Five stars all the way!

the wait wasn’t long, food was nice, and the person serving me (Imogen) was very polite the throughout my whole experience

We ordered and paid for two 'mango and avocado' salads at the bar (£15 each) and sat outside. However when we got them they both had no avocado in and I counted a total of 4 cubes of mango in mine. The leaves in the salad tasted ok other than the fact that there was not much to the salads themselves and since the food took ages to arrive and I was hungry I began eating in the hope of being able to alert a member of staff soon. However, no member came and checked on us to see how our food was. Once we had almost finished our salads a waiter came into the outside area. I called him over and alerted him of the issue. He asked me if we were sure I told him we were and he went off inside. He never came back after 15 minutes and the issue remained unresolved until we left. Very disappointing with the service and food as a result.

Lovely atmosphere helped greatly by the staff, especially Oscar who was brilliantly attentive. Food was great and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!

Went to the George the other day. It’s a really nice local pub and the food is amazing. I got served by Imogen who was really nice and welcoming. I would recommend visiting the George if you are local or just passing by.

A regular spot that I love to visit - great for all occasions! I have had wonderful lunches & dinners in here as well as drinks with friends. Often served by Oscar, who is very lovely and efficient. My dog loves it too, especially the treats on offer - he tries to pull me in every time we pass! Will continue going back and recommend it to anyone.

The experience was amplified by the amazing cocktails Oscar sorted us. Would be back soon for sure. Highly recommended it! quick tip if you’re a cocktail fanatic like me, do ask for Oscar and let him work his magic 🪄

I have been here a couple of times recently whilst visiting family in Harpenden. The food was amazing and they also cater well for both Vegetarians and Vegans. The service was exceptional especially on our most recent visit, thank you Imogen for being so helpful and polite. We look forward to returning soon on our next visit.

One employee Imogen really made my time at the restaurant enjoyable. She had such a positive attitude and always brought a smile to our faces, which made me enjoy my time. The George is always my favourite place for any time of the day, Christina working the bar she always makes my drinks well and is so helpful finding new drinks to try whenever I come in. Professional and brings great energy to the George.

Eleasha made every second in our group of 10 that bit better. To manage a 10-top solo and be nothing but kind, funny and on it shows just what kind of energy we all need. The food was amazing and atmosphere was everything and a half. Also you need the miso skewers in your life! That and an Amalfi Spritz, as a non-drinker was the cherry on top of a wonderful day.

The food was very good when I went with my friends. I never usually write reviews but everything was amazing and the waitress Christina really made the whole dining experience that much better. She was very attentive and even though it was very busy, she remained calm and professional. It was also not very expensive and is a good thing since me and my friends are students.

I visited the George while passing through Harpenden a few weeks ago, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and drinks. I believe someone called Chris or Christina was serving my drinks, she gave me some drink suggestions which I ended up loving with my meal. Will definitely visit again!

Our waitresses name was Abi and she was a delight , great customer service !! And was able to make us feel comfortable and have a laugh . Also gqve us loads of recommendations when we were unsure . Steak was cooked perfectly and starters were lovely !

Our server Christina was in the middle of serving us drinks when she dashed away to save a bus full of orphans from crashing into the local puppy adoption centre. Quite frankly, I think it was a bit rude to leave the table like that. 4/5 service 👍

Bed for the nite but no breakfast available. We did not dine at the premises. Parking is a struggle but there is very little choice in the centre of Harpenden.
