I’m a regular in TGH, always love it but tonight was extra super with Niamh at our table. What.a.legend Protect her at all costs. And please give her overtime for tonight (☺️) as she was taking care of us so well it took her over her shift end time Be more Niamh!!!!

We had a great evening and the atmosphere was very nice, the food and drink tasted great and we received excellent service from Sophie G. We will definitely come back soon.

Lovely experience. Had a really nice young boy called Ethan who served us, was very attentive and quick to offer help. Drinks and food came out quickly. Food was very average but service made up for the food. Will be returning back for a pleasant service.

3 p.m today for Mother's Day. Our waitress Jess was helpful, attentive and patient. The roast trio was very tasty - good portions of beef, pork and chicken with lots of trimmings plus ample and interesting vegetables. The icing on the cake was a glass of Moet for the Mums. The dining area was lively but not overly noisy and appeared to run efficiently. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal - good value for money. There was a varied menu on offer and we shall certainly return to sample more.

Amazing experience on Mothers Day, from accommodating us with a late booking request the night before, patiently waiting for all our party to show up and Jessica providing us with amazing service. Top notch

What a lovely building and a great atmosphere, even what looked like a busy morning the place was spotless! Whenever I have visited I have always been made to feel super welcome from the management at the door and the team throughout our meal. I love visiting The George whenever I am in town and can’t wait to come back again, I’ve heard the evenings there are great too. Might have to make my next visit an evening and enjoy those 2 for 14 cocktails more!

We had a very nice Sunday family breakfast at The George and were extremely well looked after by our friendly waitress Connie. The food was good and also good value in comparison with other venues. Would recommend it.

Lots of guests dining on a Sunday lunchtime. The service was reasonable. Very expensive for 4 adults and 2 children. Almost £200, with only one bottle of wine and one children’s dessert. Our grandson picked up chewing gum from the restaurant floor which wasn’t good.

We’ve just had dinner at the George, the poor waitress was alone as they were short staffed, we ordered our food, as we started the starters, we heard a ‘bing’ and saw two roast dinners on the counter ( as we sat in front of the chef area’ we had barely eaten any starters the meals were out to one side.. when we finally got the main, it was microwaved so not fresh, we decided to have a dessert, crème brûlée and an eton mess .. brûlée was split and inedible, and I can’t even describe how bad the Eton mess was.. a flat plate of slop .. virtually no meringue, I’ve never seen it served so badly.. tasted awful and we sent both back untouched.. the chef apparently thought this was acceptable .. I’m pretty sure as a customer I know what tastes and looks nice .. sadly wouldn’t go back! Shame as could be nice if the manager bothered to turn up and manage

Love this pub, always great service, however went in today (Sunday) glasses and cups saucers, random dishes all over the tables out of the front, dirty dishes on table inside, I moved them. These dishes were there until half an hour before I left, (4hrs)...

Friends and I had dinner at The George of Harpenden. We met in the bar for pre-dinner drinks. It was quite noisy, and we were glad when we went through into the dining room as it was quieter than in the bar, so we could hear ourselves talking. Our waitress Jessica was friendly and attentive. Many drink and menu options were unavailable as they are apparently changing the options. I chose the Pepperoni Pizza, which was nice. I followed it with Rhubarb and Apple Crumble dessert, which was delicious and a good portion size.

Lovely evening spent at the George with the family. Special thanks to Molly who couldn't have done more for us. Will definitely be back.

Mostly nice food and average price for Harpenden. However, crushed avocado with poached eggs on sourdough is on the menu, but this should be renamed to "thin scrape of very smooth guacamole dip on sourdough." Eggs were alright though.

Slow start but food was served in a timely manner. The grill pork belly was great but the calzone did not live up to its description and would not order again. Molly served us very pleasantly and professionally - thank you!

Jess was great, fast service and very attentive, kept us informed with what was available from the menu, with her manager showing us to our table.

The starters were amazing, calamari really well cooked with a crispy layer. Burger for mains was also cooked well and tasted like a traditional bacon and cheese burger. Our waitress for the evening, Katie, treated us well and was very polite.

There were 22 of us for lunch and our waitress, Jess did an amazing job. All the staff were attentive and everything ran smoothly. Would definitely recommend!

Love this pub and have visited multiple times, if you are looking for a family friendly pub close to the station, this is the one for you. Great service, polite staff and generally lovely food from breakfast to dinner options. This visit I had the chicken milanese and the only criticism is that the chicken could have had more flavour, garlic, oregano etc. The cookie dough brownie was delicious and nice cocktails. Will definitely be back.

Very good experience at the george once again. I had the chorizo to start and ribeye for main. They were both lovely. Steak was perfectly cooked. Had the sticky toffee for pudding which was also great. Thanks Jess for your service.

Lovely late lunch here, Annabelle was very accommodating and allowed us to order from the brunch menu past its time! Beef ragu was lovely, lots of sauce and rich flavours, perfect amount for lunch’s Steak frittes was cooked perfectly!

Always a good place for brunch and coffee. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. Our server was Annabelle and she really looked after us. Plus we had a 1 year old, so was extra helpful with their patience, high chair and allowing the little one to go 'exploring' with his Dad while restless.
