The best restaurants serving British food in Central Peterborough East of England

Trabajo enfrente de la tienda en Peterborough así que voy allí de vez en cuando para conseguir algunos regalos o una bebida durante mi descanso. Carmen (lo siento si he escrito mal su nombre) y Alex son 2 allí que siempre son tan servicial y agradable conmigo. Ambos tienen una sonrisa que te hace sonreír automáticamente. No importa el día en que siempre parecen tan positivos y agradables para hablar. Y me han ayudado con las compras de regalos bastantes veces.

Tuvimos un fabuloso almuerzo en The Bell donde la comida y el servicio fue ejemplar. Nos sentamos afuera en el jardín que se veía muy bonito con las cestas colgantes de colores. Era tranquilo a la llegada, así que tuvimos la opción de asientos. La camarera, Helen, respondió a cualquier pregunta relacionada con el menú y fue muy atento y amable. Mi marido tenía la hoja de carne y yo elegí la trucha de tiza. Ambos platos estaban absolutamente deliciosos. Ambos optamos por el postre y por recomendación tomé el parfait de pistacho helado que fue un gran éxito. Mi marido eligió el mini plato de queso, ya que le encanta la combinación de queso Stilton y pastel de dátiles. En resumen, un almuerzo muy agradable de nuevo en The Bell.

Food quite cold when arrived had to reheat

Visited Saturday afternoon for a cold drink and scone. Wanted to sit outside as it was such a nice afternoon. The only free table was literally stacked with dirty plates,glasses,cups,cans. I went inside and although the entire place was empty EVERY table was also stacked with dirty crockery!! Half eaten meals,flies everywhere. One of the tables outside became vacant so I ordered my coke and scone and asked that the table be cleared.. A very reluctant lad came out and cleared the debris,didn’t bother to wipe the spilt salt,ketchup and general mess up. Another customer was loading dirty plates from her table onto another but still nobody bothered to clear up. My scone came out like molten rock,it had clearly been zapped too long in the microwave. When it had cooled down enough to hold I tried to cut the scone,it was rock hard. By this time the staff were out enjoying the chaos that was happening in the grounds of the cathedral and clearly weren’t interested in customers. Definitely won’t be returning,the whole place was dirty.

Vinimos hoy aquí porque la gente dijo que era bueno lo equivocados que estaban La ensalada de Ploughman era queso rallado, jamón , un poco de col roja, toneladas de lechuga , 2 cebollas diminutas . Toda la apariencia fue horrible El sándwich tostado estaba bien, La primera mesa que nos pusieron estaba rota y no se ofrecieron a ordenar No volveremos

We came to this hotel on a Travelzoo deal for 2 nights b&b with 3 course evening meal on first night. As we only paid £139 for the two of us we weren’t expecting it to be amazing but we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is very well situated in town centre and inside the quirky decor is very nice. Our room wasn’t huge but was well decorated and had everything we needed including tea/ coffee facilities, iron/ ironing board and toiletries. The whole hotel seemed very clean. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and everyone was chatty, especially Julia in the restaurant! Food was very good both at breakfast and our evening meal. We had a lovely 2 nights stay, visiting the shopping centre across the road, a car boot on the Sunday morning and also a day trip to Hunstanton in Norfolk, only just over an hour away. Definitely worth a visit especially on the travelzoo deal !!

Visitamos el Almirante Wells regularmente, el personal es muy amable y servicial. El pub está bien decorado con cómodos asientos. Normalmente no me molesto en escribir una reseña, pero el plato fuerte que mi esposo y yo elegimos de la Junta Especial esta noche fue tan bueno, que solo tuve que hacerlo. Tuvimos un filete de atún, patatas salteadas y una ensalada mixta cada uno y el atún se derritió en la boca delicioso. Las porciones son muy generosas, nunca tenemos espacio para el postre. Hay una amplia y variada selección de platos principales, con una buena elección de opciones vegetarianas. Hemos probado algunos otros restaurantes locales, pero nada se acerca a Admiral Wells para elegir, la relación calidad-precio y la delicia.

Good wetherspoons, far better than it was on our first visit a couple of years ago

No había estado aquí por años, ya que la última vez que fui el restaurante era sucio. ¡Qué agradable sorpresa! Renovación total del restaurante, parecía encantador y limpio también. El servicio fue más allá, el personal muy amable y servicial. La comida era deliciosa también.

We recently attended a private occasion here. On previous occasions when we have attended “do”s we have been able to park free, but the hotel is under new management and everyone using the car park has to pay. £5 for the evening….yes £5!!! It would have been cheaper to park in the station car park. Attendees were asked to make their menu choices a week in advance, fair enough. The food… the pigs cheek terrine consisted of slices of flavour-free meat in jelly, a huge amount of jelly, accompanied by pickled mushrooms and dry toasted brioche. Two mouthfuls was more than enough. You may ask why I had a second mouthful if the first was so bad - I was making sure that it really was that dreadful. Next, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with vegetables. The beef looked promising, but was actually very chewy and lacking in flavour. The Yorkshire puddings were thick and solid and the vegetables undercooked, not just al-dente. Someone else on my table remarked that the gravy was the best part of it. However, the vegetarians had the worst experience - the kitchen had, wait for it……FORGOTTEN TO COOK their option! Yes, really! So we had a long wait while they found the poor unfortunate vegetarians something to eat. By the look on the face of our companion it wasn’t worth the wait. Desert was probably the least awful part of my meal, cold chocolate brownie and ice cream (half a scoop) on a very hot plate. Perhaps that was meant to warm the brownie up? Someone on our table had ordered cheese and gluten free biscuits. They were given cheese, nothing else, just cheese. There were some other oversights, for example inadequate cutlery laid. I would have thought that “new management” would be working hard to make a good impression, but I certainly cannot recommend this place on any level

Iba a desayunar aquí. La comida era muy promedio, pero se sirve rápidamente. Como anteriormente el cocinero no tiene ni idea de cómo hacer un buen huevo frito. Es cierto que yo también, pero no es mi trabajo. El ambiente es bastante desagradable con algunos reflejos hostiles de otros clientes sin razón aparente y una mezcla de tipos alborotados sin dientes. La empleada vestida de negro con el pelo castaño corto (posiblemente una limpiadora/coleccionista de vidrio) se presumió por el pub gritando ‘¡Nunca he visto a alguien que necesite salir del armario más que él!’ ¡a su colega detrás de la barra! Realmente no puedo recomendar

Es triste escuchar el cierre de este restaurante. Visito Peterborough mensualmente y he disfrutado viniendo a escuchar los últimos 5 meses como el personal encantador (Siempre pareció tener Becky como mi camarera) , buena comida, ambiente agradable y disfruté sentado en el bar después de la comida leyendo mi libro.
