Argo Lounge in Peterborough

One of my favourite places in Peterborough - wide selection of food and drink, with the added benefit of an all day breakfast!

Went on a Sunday lunch time and had plenty of seats available, the service was fast and friendly and the food was lovely , good variety of different foods , tapas , noodles, rice, something different but also burgers and all day breakfast, the bang bang chicken was amazing will definitely go back .

Nice place for sit down and have a bit to eat or a coffee

Had the Harissa Chicken and wasn’t really sure if it should have been served hot or cold as it was neither, lots of it but poor quality ingredients, all a bit stodgy. Service was good but food average.

Good service and consistent food. Been here multiple weekends and weekdays in a row and the food and service has been consistent. Just like other Lounges I've been to.

Another great Lounge. Vegan and veggie options are certainly decent. Easy to park close by despite being in the city centre, and a nice environment.

As usual with the lounges across the UK, this place doesn't disappoint. Lovely staff, setting & food. Affordable prices too.

Took some good friends here for lunch didn't disappoint great service food delivered in good time an hot I an my husband had the full lounge English an our friend's had the sausage an egg bap an the sausage an bacon bap they said it was lovely the egg was even runny not dried up so he was very pleased

Visited today for a team work brunch/ leaving , the staff had set up a lovely table downstairs for us all. I had eggs with bacon hollandaise, we had a variety of dishes, which to be honest I had food envy over all of them ! The pancakes and buttermilk chicken dishes looked awesome, and the vegan/veggie dishes I’m told were fab. I haven’t been here for ages after a bad experience, and I am happy to say I will definitely be back soon. The staff were absolutely lovely so all in all a great time .. Thank You.. 😊

Went here yesterday for a catch up with friends and loved it! The whole experience was made so much better our lovely server alba. she was friendly, knowledgeable and professional, a real credit to the resteraunt!

Went for the first time. Was pleasantly surprised by it all.. was a bit noisy but found a quiet corner. Had some drinks which I found rather expensive.. a half pint of ginger beer and a pint of coke... £7.50 wow...the menu looked nice and interesting.. so ordered chicken bacon and avacado burger home made slaw and sweet potato fries.. in a few minutes it was in front of us.. it was definitely nice good flavour well presented.overall a pleasant experience.. will go again but will drink water ha ha .. .

First time going here I will definitely be going back

There used to be homeless people sleeping along the corridor next to the restaurant, and it used to stink as you walked down there. It was off-putting. I am glad that the situation has been resolved and that the homeless have moved on. This place has been around for a while now. Probably one of the longest-running bars in Peterborough. Many others have come and gone, but this one is still going. In my opinion, the drinks are quite costly. But I am glad the locals are supporting it and it is doing well as far as I can see.

Excellent bar, cafe and restaurant in the centre of Peterborough. Part of the Lounges group which have an industrial decor and friendly staff. Excellent food plus vegan and gluten free menus. Good coffee and beer. Make sure you read what you get with the meal as you may want to add some extras. Good value for money.

Lovely breakfast served quickly and with friendly staff

Dropped in along with a friend for a weekday brunch. Very well located and deceptively spacious inside. Ordered the Shakshuka with extra chillies - outstanding. Excellent service too.

Chef is anti-vegan. For sure. As same issue for third time. I'd be so embarrassed as a chef to serve such food. Here take this to the plant based customer. Let them eat this. Ha ha ha. I'm not vegan, (not into propa terms) I just am a plant based human, who doesn't eat animal body parts or pregnant fluids. The so called vegan breakfast is AWFUL !!! Gave it a third chance. Completely COLD and always something left over thrown on the plate. Sorry it's not fresh. Portions get smaller and smaller each time. Starving when I get in and just force myself to eat it as no clue what next would happen if I send it back. Please sack the chef. Not doing the business any favors whatsoever. Chef : let's Just take your money and bugger off basically. Service is amazing and waitresses try their very best though !

Popped in for something to eat on a day out in Peterborough. Really impressed with the menu. Our food was amazing, coffee lovely too. Staff were friendly, lovely atmosphere and decor. Will definitely return if in the area .

Our first itme dining at the Argo Lounge for my grand daughters 21st birthaday. The staff are amazing, they are friendly, efficient and nothing is too much trouble. They know their job and clients needs so well. A big thankyou for helping to making it a special night from all of the ten people in our party. The food was delicious, everyone one of us enjoyed our choices and we were all served together. We are looking forward to our return meal and trying other options. Well done to all the staff, front of house in the kitchen.

Always a lovely atmosphere here, met a friend on a Saturday afternoon, it was packed, so only tables were downstairs... ordered using the app, considering how busy they were, service was speedy. Food and drinks were both delicious.. plenty of choice for vegan me. Great place for both food or just a drink... definitely my favourite place in pbro.

The place had a nice atmosphere. We went for pancake day and there was a pancake decorating station. The food was lovely. Ordered a burger and a lotus milkshake.

Not visited before so was unsure what to expect. The menu had lots of options for all tastes. We ordered burgers, bang bang chicken, souvlaki flatbread, buttermilk chick, bang bang cauliflower and beef brisket chilli. It was all really tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful, brought a free shot to the birthday girl, a lovely touch. The staff all seemed genuinely interested and caring. The atmosphere was good, loved the addition of games boxes which we played, a nice added item. Will definitely be back again and will recommend to all.

We have come here a few times and had lovely food and service. We came recently on a busy day, placed the order at the bar and after 20mins, still had not received our drinks. I asked a waiter, who then got our drinks. Another 25mins later, still no food and other customers who came after us were getting theirs. Enquired again and this time spoke to Tami. She immediately chased it up, apologised and told us there had been a problem with the order going through and made sure we got our meal. She then checked in on us and made sure we had everything. At the end, she also gave us a voucher to apologise again and just as we were leaving, the manager then came to us to apologise. Whilst I wish the first waiter had chased up our food, I am really impressed with the service we received. Mistakes happen but it's how you deal with them and with the service we received (and the food was lovely!) we would definitely come back again and again.

Ordering food via a QR code in the downstairs area was painful to say the least as there is not much signal and couldn't find the wifi. But persevering eventually paid off. The food I ordered was OK, nothing great it was tastier than it looked. I'd go again, but not in a great rush to do so.

This is grim and I feel sick the ketchup bottle lid top is mouldy I think they should open their eyes often. Keep up the hygiene

Had lunch today and it was busy but the staff managed to find us a table. I had the pulled brisket chilli with added chorizo and spicy rice. Absolutely delicious.

Had a tea and snack with my granddaughter. My toasted teacake arrived 10 minutes before my granddaughter 's Victoria sponge and both were stale. I wanted to complain but my granddaughter asked me not to. Think I'll stick to independents from now on.

Alexandra and Alba were great hosts and were lovely!! i went to argo for a meal with an old friend and they were very hospitable. Checking up on us and asking us if we needed anything else to go with our meal. 10/10 experience and will definitely be coming back! <3

Food is amazing, I had poached eggs! Very nice and runny how they should be! Great atmosphere and allow pets like dogs in here. Very friendly and service is on point always! 10/10 highly recommend

on a bleak day, my friend and i decided to go to the argo lounge and what a great decision it was! we were sat quickly on a comfy spot (the sofas), as recommended by edie. edie gave great recommendations to what we should eat, the miami brunch was scrumptious! the food and service was so good that we indulged for a sweet treat (churros), which did not disappoint. argo lounge is definitely worth the visit! great atmosphere, yummy food and friendly service, thank you edie!

First time and would visit again

Went in just before Xmas, with many parties happening, so was a little odd to have to wait to be seated just for a drink, but we were only waiting for 2 mins at least. Ordered on the app, drinks arrived in good time and were excellent. Will definately return.

Picked this place because it looked cute from the outside and it was dog friendly. Was pleasantly surprised by the menu and enjoyed everything we ordered. Would definitely go again if I'm ever in Peterborough, again.

No issues finding seating on Xmas eve, quick service and excellent food.

Not a bad place for breakfast in the city center. The food wasn’t bad and the service was really good, all of the staff were friendly and polite. We got there just before it got really busy so the wait for food wasn’t long at all. They had a selection of games which kept the kids entertained.

Went on the 9th of december first time we have been here service was relatively quick and friendly i ordered the breaded chicken with sweet potatoes with house slaw followed by chocolate fudge cake good portion sizes very good value nice ambience and decor would highly.recommend going hete

I had the big lounge breakfast. The quality of the items was good. However most of it was only warm and I prefer my food to be hot.(Luke warm beans are not for me) The breakfast comes with 2 fried eggs served on white or brown toast. My toast was not toast at all... It was just warm bread buttered with a spread which had melted underneath the egg making the bread soggy with spread. This wasn't to my taste and I left it. Having said all that I still believe it is nearly a very good breakfast... Please just serve the items hot and toast the bread properly.

Great service. Felt welcomed. My wife is gluten free, this was dealt with very well.

Went for dinner on a Friday evening. We both ordered a burger which were nice. I had the meaty one which was tasty, my boyfriend had the standard burger which was very basic. Service wasn't too bad considering a Friday night. Nice atmosphere, but busy n a Friday evening. Would recommend.

The Argo Lounge is a very laid-back bar and restaurant and I like that their menu stays consistent so I know what I want to order whenever I come here to visit. I've enjoyed trying their different styles of food but what I don't like personally is how expensive the tapaas is for the portion you get. I understand tapas is a small plate but for that price, it feels a little steep especially if this was in Spain it would be no more than three euros each instead of six to eight pounds for a small plate. Having said that I love their salads and it's delicious and very fresh tasting. The staff here are lovely and you can order through the bar or you can do it through the QR code. It's really easy to do it and they have a downstairs section too which is quiet and they also have wifi and power outlets so you can charge your devices while eating.

Pretty good food with brilliant GF options as always. We went for breakfast and the gluten free Cumberland sausages were very tasty and lovely, crispy hash browns! I would say the overall food could have been hotter. Initially the service wasn't great, the waitress spoke to us over the coffee machine - couldn't see or hear her and I asked for a gluten free menu and she asked if it was an allergy, intolerance or preference? I have non-coeliac gluten intolerance but became concerned why it was important because surely gluten free means gluten free. Because of this I ordered at the bar because I was nervous and nobody had an answer as to why it was important. In any case it was still good gluten free food so we left happy.

Last time I went there was a really loud and obnoxious table of drunk middle aged women embarrassing themselves. They weren’t spoken to at all despite clearing out the whole area. Every other time I’ve been there it’s been amazing but maybe they need a policy to talk to clearly obnoxious people.

Wheelchair friendly. Staff are Allergy aware. Gluten and Lactose Free is no problem and all Free From Food is prepared in a separate area. The Free From menu is excellent and adaptable. I had no problems as a wheelchair user and have food allergy’s . Lovely friendly staff. Food was nicely prepared and cooked to perfection. Price was as expected and not too expensive. I definitely recommend.

Had no dark ales or stouts. As per reply, yes you do have a milk stout bottle but this was OOS. A bit more planning needed when it's the only one you have.

Really lovely place to take the family, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and great choice of food. Highly recommended.

Good food, attentive staff. Gave us a good table where we could get the pushchair and highchair in without encroaching on other tables.

Service was really bad. Had to wait for almost an hour to get our food. We had kids with us and they were on the edge. Apparently, someone forgot to send our order to the kitchen on time and sent it 30 minutes later. Ok, mistakes happen (although there were hardly any people in at that time). But why didn’t that lady told us what happened when she realised? The waiter apologised and asked if we wanted to order more drinks! I would expect drinks on the house in such situation. Why would I want spend even more money at the place that ruined my evening? Basically, the place would be ok if staff members were trained at least a little bit. Food was good, but after we left we realised that kids meal we ordered wasn’t given to us in full and some items that were on the menu and we paid for were missing. We were so hungry and disappointed that didn’t even notice it at the time.

This is a cool place, with nice food and atmosphere. Like the decor, and the staff are always smiling. The big breakfast is huge!

There was a bunch of communicative young women (aka flock of cheap floozies) across from my table who had even brought their infant(!) children in their prams to the restaurant after 9 pm - and were chatting unbelievably loudly, and at the table right next to me there was a trio of brawny, ripped men who could only scream at the top of their lungs. I guess you can't choose your customers. ;) - Other than that, a solid dining option in Peterborough.

We attended today for breakfast and weren’t disappointed. We were greeted with a very happy staff member with the biggest smile. Asked regarding allergies, any special requirements and gave us the info we needed. Scanning the menu was simple and easy. The drinks arrived hot and promptly shortly followed by exceptional food. The entire place has a great vibe and ambiance. Spacious seating with comfort. Suitably impressed a 20% tip was left for these very hard working floor and kitchen staff that all looked like they enjoyed working in this lovely venue. Great work guys, when we next visit, we shall definitely return.

Great service, easy to order using your own phone. GF menu is amazing.

Fantastic service. I am coeliac. They had a very extensive gluten free menu. The manager personally took my order and explained how they had a separate fryer for my food. He was very knowledgeable and made me feel reassured eating there.

Chilled atmosphere. Best flat white in Peterborough. Middle eastern style breakfast options such as Shakshuka as well as the traditional plate. Comfortable relaxing place. Funky staff.

Enjoyed the visit. Good food and nice vibes. Would normally give this a 4, but will give it a 5 as it's in Peterborough and there aren't that many other options in this area.

Food is ok and service is also okmost of staff look like they only just rolled into work from their beds but I guess that the casual style policy?

Came here a week ago with my team for a work dinner. This review would not have been saved if it wasn't for the excellent work of your staff and especially Tammy. I sent in our order 4 days in advance - there were 18 of us - to ensure no disappointments on the day. Upon arrival I was told that a few items were out of stock - a bit surprising since I had given notice. When mains arrived three of the steaks were very overcooked, we returned them but unfortunately there was only one replacement available and we had to order something else. Usually I would have been quite annoyed at this point but Tammy did an excellent job. We weren't charged for our replacement meal and got a bottle of wine on the house! For the atmosphere, it was very hot in the area we sat in downstairs and there wasn't AC. I'd say with a table as big as ours, that was the right place to put us but it was unbearably warm. As I said, this review would have received far less but Tammy saved the day. That girl needs a raise

Argo lounge is always a great experience. The food is good, the staff is super efficient and incredibly friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is super relaxed. Would highly recommend for a great night out.
