Argo Lounge in Peterborough

My fiancé and I have just had a celebratory meal and drink here following a promotion at work and also sending out our wedding save the dates. We were served by Darren, who said he's relatively new at the Argo. Darren made our celebration that much more special by being an amazing server. He was so friendly and chatty. We've always loved the Argo, but would recommend it even more so after our lovely experience with Darren. Thank you for making our dining experience so relaxed and fun ❤️

Been to a few of these lounges, decent breakfast, service is quick and friendly, prices are fair, however, they have gone up a little recently. I'd go again

Fantastic dining experience. We stopped in here for lunch after shopping and were not disappointed. I had the Nasi Goreng and it was the best meal I’ve had out in a long time. We both were very satisfied with our meals and were impressed with the quick and friendly service. We didn’t have to wait too long which was impressive considering how busy they were at the time.

Great vegan menu, very helpful and friendly staff

December 2022. Went here for dinner with my partner, we both had the chicken paramo burger, chips and slaw. We both added an extra fillet which is great that you can do that! On arrival, we were asked if we had any dietary requirements or allergies then instructed to pick a seat. I liked being able to pick so we could avoid loud parties. We ordered and paid at the table and very quickly our drinks came out and shortly followed by our dinner. All the food was amazing, the staff very friendly also. Would definitely recommend 👌🏻. Went the next day for lunch and it was very busy, waited about 5 mins to be seated which was fine as its quality food. Again it came very quickly and tasted amazing. December 2022-We went to the argo Lounge just over a week after the first visits but with our 2 young children. Caters well for kids. The mac cheese was missing the garlic bread which wasn't a big deal and the chicken in our burgers were slightly over done so they were very Crispy, still tasted nice but not as nice as our previous visit. December 2023 - again, beautiful food, amazing atmosphere. Love it in here April 2024 -went here for our anniversary meal, had a lovely meal. Staff so friendly. Cocktails full of ice so I'd say tone down on ice and more drink 🤣 . Will keep coming back! December 2024 - came here for a date night, ordered Korean chicken burger and fries. Which tasted amazing, fresh and hot. My partner ordered the lounge bacon cheese burger which he scoffed down and said was amazing! The mocktails were tasty and absolutely loved the caramel sundae and the sticky toffee pudding went down a treat 👍🏻. The staff so friendly and helpful. Would definitely return and recommend.

Good customer service drinks and food very good

Really nice staff and very good and consistent food.

Was in a hurry to catch a train and the staff were very helpful in getting my food quickly and in a box to go. Had the all day breakfast and they knocked it out the park. Truly delicious.

Fantastic Christmas get together at the Argo lounge. So helpful adapting orders to suit and great tasting food. Delicious Christmas menu and wonderful staff that go the extra mile. Great place to eat, drink, be merry.

Cuando todos los cafés y restaurantes estaban llenos, un sábado ajetreado a la hora del almuerzo, podíamos esperar en el salón Argo y después de 5 minutos se encontró una mesa para nosotros. A pesar de ser apresurado de sus pies, el personal siempre fue servicial con una sonrisa. La comida era deliciosa también.

Everyone is so lovely here and the atmosphere is always really nice and cozy. Perfect for breakfast, lunch and a nice dinner or drinks, me and my bf love coming here for breakfast, we always look forward to it. The food is soo good, I love the pancakes so much and also the cooked breakfast is great too 🖤

I went for breakfast about a month ago now ( it’s taken me a while to get round to writing my review) I ordered a vegetarian and I was served a full English with Bacon and Sausage etc.. I can understand how hard it is to cross check the order with the table number. It took 20 mins for my fresh vegetarian to arrived and when it did it was cold! I regretfully booked the department Christmas meal there.. which I’m going to write another review on. Let’s just say shambles doesn’t cover it..

Argo is my favourite place in Peterborough town at the moment.Great atmosphere for any occassion.I've been there for brunch,evening cocktails with tapas,food and drinks for a work do,date night,Sunday lunch with my daughter.And all I had,was great experience.The staff is always nice and welcoming,food is always delicious(beyond meat burger is my fav right now).I love the decor.

had a nice time. Gluten free menu does offer lots of options. However, the food itself wasn’t amazing. And the chocolate torte tasted almost play dough like, which I can only assume is due to it being gluten free, but not worth the money. I also ordered food and was later told that it was unavailable, so had to quickly decide what to have instead, which sort of ruined the experience for me. Perhaps staff should make us aware before ordering what is out of stock in order to avoid disappointment. Manager was very friendly and considerate. Service is a 4/5, food 2/5, which is why I leave 3 stars.

Large table booked for alot of people. We arrived an hour 20 mins late due to bowling running over, However Jake and Julia I believe their names were, they were so accommodating, the food was quick, and very filling. We had a couple of specifications but they met them, They were really friendly. Not to mention we ordered the food at 9:30pm and kitchen closes for food at 10pm they did super work! 10/10 place, Recommend to anyone.

If you haven’t tried the Argo Lounge downtown Peterborough, you should! Outstanding food and the place has an uber cool vibe…loved it. Without a booking we were seated promptly (all six of us😲) and the service was warm friendly and professional. Ordering at the bar so whenever you want to place your order, the meals were delivered to the table, prompt and knockout delicious. Plenty of great tap beers, but opted for a flat white and boom wow it was good and hot. Had the Budha Bowl with Halloumi, EPIC. Generous sized meal with flatbread on the side and all sorts of gourmet ingredients. Flavours were simply outstanding. Place is bustling and interesting, dog friendly, and had the feel of a well run gastro eatery. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 that’s 5 stars from us.

Lee was a beaut. Made our very large group with specific needs feel very welcome and looked after

I had a really nice meal in there and can't fault it, however I was really stunned by the attitude of one of the managers, he was from another store based on what he was saying to people, so maybe this review would be better attached to his place. To be talking in the inappropriate way that he was on the restaurant floor really shocked me. Disappointed that people like that still rule.

A real buzzy environment. Staff friendly and helpful, really keen to please. Full of young people, goodness knows what they thought about us! Lots of cocktails being drunk! A menu that has something for everyone, but after ordering it was delivered very quickly!

Eggs benedict but eggs could have done with being poached a little long when l cut into mine all see through egg white ran out would not go again

Un muy buen lugar para desayunar en el centro de Peterborough. Amplio menú, siempre preguntan por alergias. El servicio es invariablemente muy amable y profesional. Más recientemente tenía el shakshuka que era precioso con 2 huevos corridos perfectamente escalfados. Mi compañero realmente disfrutó del brunch de aguacate aplastado con tocino rayado adicional. Capuchinos de buena calidad. También han disfrutado previamente de los huevos de salón con espinacas y setas y los huevos de salón con salmón ahumado. El Argo Lounge es nuestro lugar favorito para el desayuno en Peterborough en términos de elección y calidad.

Chili de ternera excelente maridado con Pinot Grigio fabulosa comida con amigo de Londres yo mismo de York. Vale la pena la visita se reunirá de nuevo aquí. PS servicio de todo bueno.

Alex, Vytee and Flynn all provided excellent 5 star customer service today at Argo Lounge! I had come in with an old friend and they made us feel right at home. They gave us a lovely selection of mocktails, from coconut to pineapple! we both went with the coco pineapple punch and they were the best mocktails we’ve ever had! Absolutely would return here and the trio were the best bartenders i’ve ever encountered! :))

Good menu choices vegans and vegetarian friendly, we both had a good meal and would definitely return next Peterborough beer festival, just what you need the next morning after a full day on beer.

We had lunch with a friend and it was quite lovely. The food was really good and the service was nice. The atmosphere was really great as we sat outside and saw street performers and that was very entertaining.

The restaurant was extremely busy during the lunch hour, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is unfortunately a need to improve the cleaning (stains and lipstick marks are left on the cutlery and glasses). A salad with chicken, bacon, and avocado is something I recommend to try

We visit quite a lot of lounges on our travels and found this one not quite as good as some of the others. The lounge itself was ok. Exactly what you would expect. Our drinks arrived promptly however the food took a little while to arrive. We had the bacon and eggs (eggs Benedict). With a side of hash browns. The food was warm, but not especially hot. The eggs over cooked and there was not really a lot of hollandaise sauce. It was quite busy, despite this the staff were up to the usual standard.

Poor quality in food, hot plates cold food, gloppy egg, vegetables hard. Pancakes ok, sauce very sharp. Full breakfast again hot plates cold food, poor quality of produce

Had breakfast, 1st offering was cold and was replaced without fuss, however, the sausage and bacon were still cold along with the tinned mushrooms, cost at £15 was reasonable for a city centre but you have to ask yourself why it was only 10% full on a busy Thursday morning. Coffee was really good though and the front of house staff were doing their best.

Always good food and great atmosphere

I've sat down on my own, I've ordered Buddah bowl salad bottle of water and glass of red wine, after I've finished its been 40 minutes nobody approached to the table to clear up or ask was everything okay!?? Clearly not happy wouldn't recommend think you need more training for your staff to be on Point to give better service or focus on guests satisfaction, wearing make up doesn't make business work smooth. Good luck.

I had to kill some time before a meeting so I visited to study for an hour or so. I was greeted by a lovely member of staff with excellent customer service skills named Alex. She was super friendly and helpful. I was greeted with a smile and she showed me to a nice quiet spot to study. My tea was brought to the table so quickly and even though it seemed busy upstairs she was very attentive and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Brilliant staff member and I’m sure lots of establishments could do with implementing this level of service. Thankyou Alex for your help :)

Not the kind of place we would normally consider but it was recommended so we thought we'd give it a go, and I'm so glad we did. We went as a group of 10 on a Saturday afternoon and they were very accomodating. Huge menu with plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, and excellent value. Most of our group had burgers which they all said were fantastic. I had a trio of tapas, all of which were superb. We would definitely go again.

Came here for lunch after visiting the nearby cathedral. It's a lovely building with an array of pictures to admire. The menu has a good variety and I opted for poached eggs with spinach and mushrooms, and my partner had a lounge breakfast. We did wait quite a while for the food, but it was busy and therefore suggested that everything was being cooked fresh. We were asked if we wanted any sauces and my partner requested some brown sauce which never materialised until I asked again. This is clearly a popular place to eat and drink, and we would return.

Food is to die for! You don't really have experience with staff unless it's to say sit anywhere or to bring you your food. So can't really comment.. but the tapas omg is beautiful!

The person in charge of employment has absolutely smashed it out of the park with Emi and Nikisha. After a minor miscommunication these two came through with not only exemplary customer service but went above and beyond to rectify the mishap. Nikisha was well mannered and kind. Emi was courteous and even left a heart on my coffee, making the day that bit sweeter. These two deserve the shout out

Came in for dinner. Got a couple of burgers - both the same one. I had sweet potato fries with mine and the other was with plain fries, both were cold and promptly replaced when mentioned but I think they may have just gone back into the fryer as mine were overdone and scorching hot when they came back out. Noticed toward the end that the burgers were also the wrong way around as mine should have had jalapeños and the other without so my dining partner who doesn't agree with spicy got an unpleasant surprise and I was disappointed. We had paid by the app and no check back done but by that point we were pretty much done and wanted to get going so left it. The atmosphere inside seemed great, loved the decor and enjoyed being able to sit outside. Just got let down by the food.

We came in at 5pm and were pleasantly surprised by the offer where with every main they include a free desert or an alcoholic beverage. We weren’t expecting much at first as it is a chain but we were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming and bubbly staff members who actually kept up a conversation with us. That’s a rare trait. The food was also amazing, everything came out within 15/20 minutes of ordering and it was all piping hot and fresh. We will be coming back ♥️

So pleased when I got into Peterborough city and came across Argo Lounge . These are popping up everywhere I seem to go, even in my town of Basildon. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is relaxed, the food is always good and my 2 dogs are always made comfortable. What more could I ask for?

We went in after a meal elsewhere to continue celebrating my husband's 50th birthday. The staff were abrupt and very unhelpful. We had to sit in 2 separate groups away from each other. We were told to sit down, to get away from the bar (there were only 4 of us standing chatting at this point). Under NO circumstances could any tables be moved despite no one else being in that area. The whole place was really quiet so you think that the staff would be more welcoming and accommodating. Really disappointed in the attitude of the staff, especially as we just wanted a pleasant night of celebration

Went on a Sunday lunch time and had plenty of seats available, the service was fast and friendly and the food was lovely , good variety of different foods , tapas , noodles, rice, something different but also burgers and all day breakfast, the bang bang chicken was amazing will definitely go back .

Had the Harissa Chicken and wasn’t really sure if it should have been served hot or cold as it was neither, lots of it but poor quality ingredients, all a bit stodgy. Service was good but food average.
