If I’m honest, the food was average but our waitress Macie was brilliant and very attentive, my son was disappointed to find that there were still no activity sheets 😕

Phil and Agnus where brilliant really made our day after long day at work highly recommend going there.

We ate there two nights as it was so close to our hotel, six of us one night and four the next night. Found the food eatable and interesting, fairly pricey for a pub although most of them are these days. Will be planning to eat there next year when we go to the Peterborough Antique Fair - if life improves.

We called for lunch on Saturday. Staff were helpful and friendly, although it was sometimes difficult to hear what they said due to the necessary masks! We queued for the salad bar, where staff served us rather than the usual self service (Covid precautions). The people in front of us had their salad carried to the table by a member of staff as she said it was the rules, whereas the lady who served us let us carry our own! That said, the meal was delicious. Quite pricey though. The pub was clean. Service good.

I took my family to my local Harvester for a birthday meal. Our table host Hannah was fantastic! I have been to the harvester a few times but have not been served by her before so not sure if she was new or not but if she was it certainly didn't show as she was friendly and helpful at every step as well as being well presented. We ordered Ribs, BBQ chicken stack, Bird/Surf&Turf as well as a kids meal. There was an issue with one of the dishes but this was rectified quickly. All the food was good temperature and not over cooked. The steak in particular was cooked excellently ! The only down side was that we were not able to go and get our own salad so portions of some of the items we asked for were not to preference but clearly understandable why this was the case. Hannah and the team are a real credit to the Harvester brand in Alwalton and I will definitely be back again soon !

Ate here whilst staying in the adjacent Holiday Inn. Food was well cooked and presented and our server, Holly was a pleasure. Would recommend and use again if in the area

Initially a slow service but once we were seated, the staff were very helpful and attentive. This is a good restaurant for families with the unlimited salad etc. A good Menu also, including some good vegetarian choices. Well done Harvester.

Just popped in to have lunch with one of my team and had probably the best lunching experience we could, thanks to Mark! What an absolute legend. So helpful and hilarious and the chips were pretty good too! Highly recommended.

Not sure where to start ... ok the service was very good and staff friendly and helpful. Now the food.... it was the worst food we have ever ate ! Pork belly was tough and bland. Veg and Yorkie was from frozen. My sons burger was burnt and the bun dry ! Wasn’t worth £10 let alone £50. Wouldn’t even feed to my dog!

Over priced, poor quality, and a "never return" eating place, for me. Salad bar was OK, but still waiting for my dessert!

Visited this harvester with a business colleague and very disappointed. Although it was 6pm on a quiet Monday there was alot not available on the menu .Excuses made about delivery dates were exactly that ..A excuse Haven't been to a harvester in a while and I won't be back in a hurry

I visited the restaurant last night at 930pm. There was one table leaving another finished who was chatting with the staff which is great to see as they found common ground and me who just arrived.I'm not interested in the decor or the cleanliness but others were and they had a valid point to make a decent clean is required but personally I didn't care in was tired very hungry and wanted to be in and out as fast as possible which is why I picked a empty carpark restaurant and I was staying next door over night.Pros Plenty of parking available and access was good. I didn't wait to be seated and I promptly ordered ready to go after all there was no one there and we all wanted the day to end so from car to salad cart I guess 5 to 10 mins tops. I took some salad as 2020 resolution is to eat better of course. I was advised there was no corn but offered steamed veg which was perfectly suitable for me so I will have steak salad and mixed steamed veg great, simple and I won't be keeping the site open everyone's a winner right?I tried some of the sauces now on offer I didn't like maple or garlic or any really they were terrible very sweet so stuck with salad cart sauces. Steak was dreadful didn't eat a single bite it was well over cooked as was the veg grey in colour and smelled dreadful too. I ate bread rolls and salad. I felt bad to review why I hadn't eaten anything as a former chef I know how criticism isn't accepted by most "chefs" I just wanted to pay and go, but honestly with no customers how can no care or attention been given in this simple cooked every day meal?Service was good, manager was understanding and I was asked to come back another time which I will.

Went about 4.30pm for festive menu. Place was fairly empty. Got served quickly. Wasn’t really impressed with the festive turkey option - looked ok but turkey had a strange consistency. (Chicken would have been a better option) Carrots were quite hard and the gravy was consistency of thick custard. Roast potatoes were ok. The desserts were fine and the best bit was the ice cream (mr whippy style). Two courses and unlimited ‘pop’ was just under £19 each.

Mark is amazing. Always so friendly and welcoming. I come back just to have a laugh with him. 10/10.

If you want bad service and cold food this is the place to go.However if you want food that is hot and served within 1 and half hours stay away.Booked table on line for 6pm. Arrived at 5:55pm to be told table not ready. Finally sat down at 6:15 and ordered, food eventually arrived at 7:20 and was lukewarm at best.We walked out and wont be returning.

Me and my partner came in with our daughter we were greeted really quickly by one of the members of staff i beleive her name was mel, she was polite & very professional. Our food came out quickly, it was very tasty! And the portions were great too! Compliments to the chef! I will most definatley be returning!

I visited with my husband 12 & 2 year old. We had booked via the app which was lucky as it filled up pretty quickly ! We were promptly taken to our table along with a high chair. We were served by Jade who was fantastic ! She brought a colouring pack to the table for my daughter . When we ordered she asked if we would like our toddlers meal brought to the table first which was brilliant as she was hungry. The food was delicious and good value for money . Thank you Jade !

Missing chips on main, slow service, poor communication and very rude management, would avoid this place has seemed to gone down hill as used to be very good.

Dropped in on a very quiet saturday. Helpful friendly staff. Fòd was average as you would not expect. Place needs a good clean. Clear glass lampshades really need to be clear. Very unkempt gardens,lawns etc. Great selection of weeds. Don't bother, go to the Cuckoo just arround the corner.

We popped in here on a Friday night in June after a long journey- we stayed at the holiday inn next door.

Found the harvester handy as near to the hotel ,had a lovely meal & drinks,good service & prices were very good.well located near to show grounds,not far from the A1.good choice of drinks & food.

Had a very nice dinner with my family in this Harvester and value for money was excellent. The person who served us was really good, friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend eating here if you are in the area.

This place stank from the second I walked through the door, unfortunately I had to eat there due to a meal voucher provided by work.

Great vegan options, holly served us and she was fantastic. Great customer service. Had a very good meal with the family.

Staying at the Holiday Inn Express near the East of England show ground and thought that the harvester looked a fair prospect compared to microwave hotel food.

We were staying in a camper at the showground next door. It was a wet and very windy weekend and decided we didn't want to smell out our camper with fried food, so paid this Harvesyer for breakfast on two successive mornings.

Whenever there is a show at the showground this venue is always busy .

Imaginative food,nice salad bar and terrific service from Holly.Nothing was too much trouble,great suggestions,the order was spot-on and served with a great smile and lots of check-backs.Great Manager in James who has everything under control.Well worth a visit. Maz & Baz

Was so disappointed... portions really tiny, all of us came away hungry. The chilli was brought out and we thought they had sent a child's portion by mistake. Service not good they seemed to be too busy chatting. Will not be using harvester again.

I go here for lunch. They have a great salad bar selection and some wonderful items on the menu. They dont make a fuss or bother, but it has to be said, they do provide good service. They seat you quickly, take your order extremely promptly and you are served within a matter of minutes. Fab service.

Robbie our waiter was insane and very nice to us while it was busy. There was no complaints and very kind to everyone equally and didn't rush about, he also made jokes when necessary and they made us feel at home! Thanks for today, this made our night defo recommend this place! Great work

Found myself and the family in Peterborough over the weekend and looking for breakfast on Sunday morning.

I'm currently here, but this will be the last time. Been here about an hour, still waiting for the starters to be cleared away. Harvester is not a cheap option anymore - and therfore not good value. Much of the service is now forced onto the customer - get your own drinks, salad, sauces. Lacklustre and not recommended.

Table for 16 for granddaughters birthday. Lovely meals and drinks for children free after the first one. Plenty of room for all. Service very good and waiter charming. He brought the birthday cake out at the end of our meal.

1* because no option for 0- we arrived early for our booking on NYE and said we were more than happy to have drinks at the bar whilst we wait. The door host was extremely rude and asked if we were planning on staying for the evening! She sat us down and then told us they needed the table back in and hour and a half because it was set for NYE, as if we weren’t out on NYE, I said that I would come back at the time of the booking as I didn’t want to be rushed and she said “well actually I’ve just cancelled your booking so I’ll have to put it back then” I said don’t worry and walked out. Employ staff with customer service skills and don’t speak to customers like rubbish and belittle them. You will not be getting our custom again and we previously used to enjoy eating here, we went elsewhere and had a lovely evening.

Took our twin granddaughters out for lunch and had a very nice meal. The service and staff were excellent and the food was very good. My steak was cooked as requested medium rare and everyone was pleased with their food offering.

Lovely meal. BUT..... would of liked a glass of Prosecco they do sell small bottles that's OK but sold out...reason to many Christmas party's who ever does the ordering has got it very wrong it's Christmas ???? Decaf Coffee.... nope they don't do decaf ?????? and when they did bring a coffee the waitress apologised for the lack of a saucer as they were all in the wash ????? and finally I ordered Gammon with pineapple and surprise surprise No pineapple. Someone needs to have a word with the management.

Had a great family meal for the 4 of us , food was lovely , restaurant clean & cosy with fire going. First class service from our waitress Candice :-)

Arrived at 7.00pm and was told it would be 10 mins wait for a table even though there were loads of empty but uncleared tables. This should have been a clue really, but we waited actually less than 10 mins. We ordered 2 main courses at about 7.20, nothing unusual, in fact their standard gayer. At 8.00, I asked the waitress how much longer the food would be, to be told that it should be any minute (no apology). A further 15 minutes passed and still no food, so we got up and left the restaurant as by now I didn’t want to eat a large meal. It was a very disappointing experience and a place that I would not bother visiting again.

I visited yesterday with my mum and wife for an evening meal. Now we live locally and have been here many times before, but not for a long time. We had become disenchanted with the place but I am glad we decided to give it another go. The service was extremely good. My mum has mobility problems but they couldn’t have helped more. The new menu was great. We all enjoyed our food. Doggy bags were needed as the portions were generous. Overall excellent

Well what can I say, if you’re looking for a great meal in comfortable surroundings then don’t come here!

I can't really add anything to what Andrew E has already said in an earlier review. Sounds like he went the day before us.

I went to this restruant and had a lovely breakfast but the down side was they don't Carter for people with allgeries.

Well, we won't do that again, despite the lovely waitress and our bill being waived. Cold bacon, undercooked sausage, cold beans and mushrooms. No excuse guys, that was shocking.

It has been some time since we have been here. What we found may explain that or it has slowly declined.

Pleasant place, enthusiastic staff, food fine for the expectation. We have popped here when nearby a few times and usually done ok. Can be noisy early evening with families but that's to be expected at a family-friendly place.

Although we were one of the first to order our food it still took 45 minutes for it to arrive. The salad as always was good but the prices were high for what the main meals were if someone (3 of us) did not want salad. The main meals we ordered were ok except for the fish and chips. The piece of fish was a generous portion but sadly it turned out to be a large piece of batter with only a very small piece of fish inside and was not only unappetising but obviously unhealthy.

Recently dropped in for an impromptu meal, having used this place on several occasions before over the years, and always enjoyed it. Although it has been a while since our last visit, things have gone downhill from what we remember it being.

Pleasantly surprised by the range of beers on tap in this pub.

Took my daughter's and grandkids for a drink how disgusted to go and sit in the garden there was a dog tied to a table and no one there ,so went round near front and there was dog poo not good for little ones

For a decade, we have travelled to this pub 3 or 4 times a year to meet as a family and have a meal together. We travel from the North, family travels from the South. It has always served a purpose.

Friendly staff! Great for dietary needs! Good was great and great to get salad that you can help yourself to ad get more! Deserts need more choice for Gf visitors! Book a table if possible as it does get busy!

Myself and wife won a 2 course meal and drink which we had on Sunday lunchtime.

Hello!! I went into this harvester recently and had an amazing time with me and my family. We was served by what I believe her name was Amie, she was absolutely fantastic. She was very much concerned about how we all was doing regardless of if we was enjoying our food! The food was great I had the ribs and they was delicious, and as a customer of certain restaurants I do believe the food is a big part of the meal but also the service, which was fantastic thanks to our waitress really made the whole family and myself laugh thanks so much !

Came in at 8pm this evening, bike show on at arena so they had notice that it was going to busy. Stood at entrance for 20 mins only to be told we will seat you shortly. We could see half the restaurant filled with dirty tables where’s guests departed 20 mins prior. We were told by staff when questioned that they were short staffed NO KIDDING.... one bar person to serve a que of 12 people waiting and two floor staff. PATHETIC... just shut it if you can’t be bothered to staff it or run it properly.

A few visits here have been mostly excellent, but sometimes its popularity overwhelms staff and there is a bit of waiting to be done. The buzz is good though and the staff willing and delivery prompt once your order is in. Good Harvester grub and that lovely salad bar.

had to wait 10 minutes for some one to give us a seat one staff member who took are order had dirty hands and my spud was not cooked all the way though and to top it when I used the rest room the toilet door had no lock on it which looked like it been like it for a long time due to how many foot prints on the back of the door.

The gammon was barely cooked and tough, it was hidden under the egg. The chips were of a very low standard the thin ones, expected the chunkie ones. The peas were the poorest quality, tasteless and dry. The tiny tomatoe was overdone, the mushroom was the best very tastie.

This was a family easter get together with 10 of us, three generations. Table was booked for 2pm, Got there on time but the table was not ready. OK it's easter, everyone is busy so no problem, we waited in the bar. The table became available about 2.20 or so, a good table with plenty of room for all of us. Drinks were ordered, menus delivered and selections made. Then we were told what was not available so a number of us had to think again. Most just had salad for a starter, my wife and I had the baked brie with garlic bread which was ok. The wait for the main course seemed interminable. It finally arrived about 3.30. Most of us had ribs, which were barely warm with chips, which were burned beyond recognition in some cases and again not very warm, and coleslaw, which did not appear. I think they had run out. The servers were polite and friendly but slow. The bill arrived much quicker than any of the food. Overall - disappointing.

Harvester is generally our 'go to' as you know you're going to get good quality food at a reasonable price along with the salad bar, and there is always something for everyone to choose from.

Popped in on the off chance that there would be a table free without booking, was a bit daunted to be honest as this was my first time dining out alone with my toddler but staff all very welcoming and friendly so put me at ease :) food came quickly and was much enjoyed! Really nice experience, crayons and bits to keep little one entertained (also really nice waitress who was lovely to my little boy!) and food really reasonably priced. Will defo be back for another visit. Thank you very much :)

Myself and Family (6 People) Visited the Harvester at Alwalton Today For Dinner. This was pre-booked and when we arrived we were greeted by the Manager who promptly showed us to our table. We had arranged for a certain area to sit in as my mother is in a wheelchair and they catered for this excellently. This is the first time my mother and father have been out for a meal in 12 years and I can say that our waitress (Alice K) went all out to help with anything that we required. She always had a lovely smile and was please to assist in any way possible. The quality of the food was amazing and the wait was very minimal even thou they were busy due to a local event at the nearby showground. Even as we left the manager asked us if they had an enjoyable evening and they both had. I would highly recommend going to the Harvester at Alwalton as the staff are friendly and very welcoming and will help with anything you need and the quality of the food is amazing. Five Stars :)...

It's our third visit here in four weeks and they never fail to disappoint! Mark has always been our server and he is excellent; so helpful and friendly, a true national treasure.

Really enjoyed everything about the meal experience, Kind staff, fast service, good price. Everything that matters. Good salad bar options.

We usually visit this harvester over the one in Hampton due to a bad experience at that one. However tonight went badly and would of given it 0 stars if TripAdvisor would give that option. The kitchen were mainly to blame for this poor review. 1) salad bar - this has reduced in size and variety than what there used to be. Also on our visit the salad bar was not kept on top of by the kitchen staff and whilst some other customers and I complained to the duty manager he advised it will be sorted shortly - he could of worked more of a team and done a bit of it as he was standing around not doing anything. 2) the kitchen were sending food out without actually reading the order, as 3 of swapped part of the meal with something else. In the end we had to tell the waitress (different to the one above) that brought our food what it should of been. I had to send back my potato skins as the were fried so much there was no potato left inside. After about 20 minutes I had to remind our waitress that I hadn't yet received these. Due to all of this she did discount the bill by 20%.3) desserts - we decided to have desserts as the sundaes on the pictures looked really good - not what we received. The strawberry eton mess sundae had 3 small strawberrys in a sauce, lots of ice melted ice cream, squirty cream, and the smallest meringue broken in half and put on top. The KNICKERBOCKER GLORY is described as"Our take on the all-time favourite. Layers of fruit salad, strawberry sauce and crushed meringue." This was one big chunk of melon and a slice of apple at the bottom. Lots of ice cream, squirty cream and NO crushed meringue. We again complained about this. Overview -SALAD BAR - was small and not kept on top of.KITCHEN STAFF - USELESSDUTY MANAGER - chocolate tea potOTHER WAITRESS - my left shoe had more personality than she didSUNDAES - a McDonald's mcflurry would of been better. OUR WAITRESS - was in good spirits despite a crap day and couldn't of been more helpful. Wish I could remember her name.

Got to Harvester after booking table. Got shown to our table straight away. It was very, very hot and was quite uncomfortable to sit inside. Ordered drinks and said could we go and sit outside as we were early for our meal. The waiter said it was fine and he would bring our drinks out to us. We waited ages and in the end went in to see where the drinks were. The waiter decided he didn't know where we were so cancelled the order. We fetched the drinks ourselves. Went in and ordered our meal, waited ages eventually it came. Steak should have been medium rare, came very well done, dry and awful. The chicken meal was awful, dry and overcooked. My brother in laws Chicken stack was very plain and tasteless. Ordered more drinks, waited ages again. Hardly any staff about and i believe thats why the service was so bad. Was very disappointing.

Called in for a bite to eat after a busy day. Our server was called Will and he was lovely. I have been served by Will on a few occasions and each time he is just as friendly , happy and smiley as the last visit. Nothing is too much trouble.The food today was really nice, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

we arrived sunday evening just befor bank holiday inn greeted and shown to our table lots of people around big parties we were starving and ordered very soon after arriving girl who served us was great the food took some time to arrive but was super tasty and hot that is all you can ask I asked for the bill and rolled to the holiday inn just around the corner well done harvester this is a little gem in your crown don't let go of your staff

There were 4 of us eating after visiting a large antique fair at the showground almost opposite. We had arranged for a 4.00pm meal on the Saturday, but we re arranged for a 3.00pm table. They rearranged our time with no problem, we were met at the door, taken to our table and served both quickly and cheerily. The other reviews I'd read were so negative, I was apprehensive, but found it to be a really good meal with lovely staff. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a Harvester meal

Called in here Easter Sunday and had a really nice meal, Staff very attentive and food was great. Salad bar was an added bonus. Although Bank holiday weekend the restaurant wasn't that busy so not so rushed.

Arrived at opening time. All very clean and tidy. met by a very efficient Team Leader and shown to seat. The Same person took our order and served us and she was pleasant and speedy all through. Whilst we were there she was rushing around very quickly but always pleasant. The Salad Bar was very good and the cooked food was also well cooked and well presented. What let the whole meal down were the chips. The worst I have ever been presented with, many of them were just ends of potatoes and a number were black or had black parts in them. They were not fit for use. But they also tasted of nothing. Like warmed up left overs, and not very warm at that.. This spoiled the meal.

Had dinner this evening, which was lovely. My partner had a mixed grill which was cooked perfectly. I had slow roasted belly pork which was melt in the mouth superb. Our server, Will was very polite and helpful. All in all a very nice experience.

Although busy, we were served our meals in good time with barely any wait between courses. Great service from Will who was very knowledgeable about the food.Atmosphere was good with no loud distracting music. restaurant very clean with the salad bar well stocked and tidy.Food was excellent with plenty of choice on the menu.

We've had several meals here, We weren't impressed pretty much 4 out of the 5 times we have been recently either it being long waits for food, cold food or just food not being up to standard. Lunch times seem to be better organised. Can 100% not fault the staff always lovely and entertaining thank you for your hard work.

Staff were all helpful and polite and the service was very good. Shame about the food, it looked as if it had been hanging around for a while as did the salad bar. Such a shame, the place looked lovely from the outside but needs sprucing up inside.

Booked a table for 18.00 arrived but had to stand waiting for 35 minutes. There was 8 of us 4 children so you can imagine the annoyance!When we eventually got our table we ordered good states to arrive but they had not set out table . We had to ask for cutlery they brought us son forks, we had to ask for knives, they brought the knives, we had to ask for napkins!!! Absolutely amazing.Good was poor. Low quality. Service was friendly though lacking. We were offered 4 desserts with compliments due to our long wait. The restaurant was very noisy and we couldnt hear ourselves speak so was not a good experience all round. We do know otber family restaurants ehich we shall visit in tbe future as will not come here ever again ...
