Beautiful building and lovely staff - would definitely come back again as we wasn't aware this pub was here as I think we've always missed it when passing through.

This used to be one of our favourite venues for lunch but sadly today will be our last visit. The choices on the fixed price menu are very limited and the portion sizes have shrunk dramatically. They should have increased the price rather than reduce the quality on offer. The fish (haddock) was very poor. The batter was nowhere near as good as it used to be. The burger on the a la carte was way overcooked and the bun toasted to destruction. Really not impressed at all and will not be back

Went in for Sunday dinner. And was so disappointed on the food. Peas and carrots where not cooked through the gravy was so lumpy even the second lot. Was so looking forward to a lovely roast but could not eat my food. Never had a problem with the food here.

This is the best pub in Finchingfield. Lovely garden with swingball and a weird bean bag game (cornhole I think). They also have a great quiz. And pizza. And music on occasion. Visit if you are in the area - proper country pub.

The whole experience was disappointing from start to finish. We had to wait 30 minutes for our table to be ready, whilst standing at the bar. The staff seemed inexperienced & under enormous pressure. On taking our order, the waitress then told us that some fish on the starter & main menu had already sold out, it was 7.30! When our starters eventually arrived, they were cold, as were two of the main courses, which were brought out before the table had been cleared, having initially been taken to the wrong table, then taken back to the kitchen. The other two mains still hadn’t arrived 15 after the first two had. We also had to remind staff two or three times, that we’d ordered drinks. We left after only an hour & a half, disappointed, hungry & needless to say, won’t be returning. An evening thoroughly spoilt.

We went on a coach trip about 25 of us and the food we were served was cold when arrived. We only had two choices which we were ordered in advance. The vegetables were overcooked and the potatoes had not even been peeled properly and we had to ask for fresh ones. The portions were very small. I believe that we were pensioners on a fixed price that was how we were treated. The staff were not very friendly and rushed us to finish so that passing trade were able to be seated. The wine was very expensive at £9.50 a glass for a pub.

Such a wonderful pub! My Dad booked me and him a table on the app and put on the occasion section that the reason for visit was for my belated birthday. When we arrived they had put some balloons up around the table! What a lovely thing to do, thank you! 💖 Also the food was great, and our servers, Nick and Millie, couldn’t have been nicer! Thank you guys 😊

This place has so much potential and the food is really quite good but the attitude of the staff is terrible. Not polite! I agree with a previous review that the place is filthy, in particular a disgusting radiator by our table. The toilet is none to pleasant either. Also agree that the constant buzzing from the pagers is mind blowing!

Covid safe and clean. Was a pleasant day so could sit on their outside patio area. Had a bacon sandwich, friends had cake. Bread was dry and I wish places would use proper butter, not some spread. Even with bacon you could still taste it... Service very friendly and pleasant.

Absolute joke very clicky be careful guys, I wouldn't recommend it. Mick mcgough, went in the pub tonight, because of swearing which happens in a pub was offensive, and was slated by bar maid and the instigator bill. Won't ever be going back be careful guys

Such a brilliant idea, lovely to meet and interact with the gorgeous rescue cats whilst having a cup of tea and some cake, you can also adopt when it's their time to be rehomed.
