The best restaurants serving British food in Babergh East of England

This was my first visit to The White Horse and must say just how pleased we were that we went. I will definitely be going again.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this gorgeous little pub, always make sure to pop in when I'm in the area. All the staff are amazing and the food never disappoints. Special mention for their Sunday Roasts too which are unreal! Can't wait to come back again!

Wonderful visit to this lovely pub. Super friendly staff, good food and drink at reasonable prices, plus all the fun of bingo. Great place - well worth a visit.

Our bi annual gathering to celebrate rememberance, and once again really impressed with the level of personal service, the staff in the bar were amazing, sarah and her colleagues were really on the ball, helpful and attentive whilst dealing with a very busy early evening. 5 star service...and the food went to shabby either!!@ Gary. Table for 4 booked for 730pm. Arrived promptly but put our order for dinner but 3 of our orders were already sold out at 730pm! My goodness, what will will eat they did not have any back ups, and our party had to make do. Come on we booked early in the weekend, and they were not full then, why had they not put extra away in case of over orderring? I do not think this restaurant will survive, come on, they were not even even full!!

Interesting and varied menu, good price, friendly helpful staff. We have small appetites, so just had a starter and dessert. Both were excellent, the dessert was light and fluffy. The pub had been recommended by a friend, so we tried it but it was so good we went back again the following day.

I've been using this Spoons regularly for a few years now. Until Covid the quality of the real ales served here was decent. However, over the last few years it's been increasingly difficult to get a decent pint here. All the real ales served here are nearly always cloudy and flat. I doubt there's a member of staff who knows the first thing about the storage or the serving of proper beer. In future I'm going to give this place the miss and head for the White Horse instead.

We visited the restaurant for lunch. Excellent service!! Well done , organised. It was a pleasure!! The food was good. It’s not cheap but the portions are good. Simple atmosphere, nice views on the river.
