From outside, you can see that Leddy's will provide an intimate dining experience. We both had the beef fillet with English squash, Hen of the woods (a mushroom), pulled cheek and Bordelaise sauce, with sides of harissa cabbage and Kombu fries. I was concerned about the harissa, but none of the flavours were overpowering, and the beef (both fillet and cheek) were superb. For dessert, I had the chocolate and banana torte, and my friend had the Pannacotta. She was delighted with this, and enjoyed the yuzu and lime flavours. The banana dessert was exceptional - I had expected it to be very sweet - both the torte and banana ice cream, but again the flavours were subtle. I would definitely recommend a visit.

I come to U.K. quite frequently & this is one of the first places I always visit. The proprietors know me and are always friendly, know my regular Americana drink. The desserts are wonderful & the attention to service is always 1st class!! There’s always a table available. Be sure to take home some of the candies as they are special too! If you visit Melbourne, be sure to stop at Forteys for a coffee & special dessert treat!! You won’t be disappointed…I promise!!

I called in just before Christmas in search of some Turkish Delight. Yes they did have some but at a price that was a tad on the expensive side. When I said that it a bit steep, I was offered it at a good discount as "it is Christmas Eve". The quality was excellent and I will make a point of revisiting this place when I'm next in Melbourne

Update - the restaurant after requesting we take down the review and offered us a voucher which has never turned up - much like their quality. The worst restaurant experience ever! We arrived at 7pm with a barrage of items not on the menu or swapped. The starters arrived and were sent back as the bread looked like it was cut by a 6 year old with a dollop of margarine. The main course, or what was left in the fridge, arrived late after repeated requests to chase and came in drips and drabs. The fish was dry as a bone and sent back. The burger and chips went back twice, first chips were cold, then they served me the bottom of the frying basket and the burger had seen better days. The pasta and chicken arrived after we finished our mains and looked like slop and missing the chicken. It was now 10pm. We asked for the manager but she was clearly visiting each table to deal with complaints. Turns out the chef had not turned up and no plate washers in the kitchen. The experience was a disaster and the worst or group had experienced. We will not be going back and the bill was cancelled. The waitresses Megan and Georgia were fantastic but let down by the owners. They should be ashamed of themselves for letting this place open.

There isn’t a ‘no dogs’ sign on the cafe door, so we went in - our dog lay quietly under the table. After ten mins, we were told by a member of staff that dogs were not allowed inside. On asking why, she didn’t know. If you have a ‘no dogs inside’ policy, please ensure a) your staff can explain why, and b) that reason withstands scrutiny. After all, it wasn’t that long ago you tolerated smoking inside! Oh, and the coffee could be better.
