We used to say that there’s no such thing as a bad McDonald’s. Today I ate my words. And also some terribly musty tasting chicken nuggets that had batter 3inches thick. It srsly feels like this McDonald’s are separate to every other McDonald’s and just do their own thing; spolier: it’s not good

Service was terrible, had to ask twice to get outside table cleaned and then had to do it myself. Only half our order arrived and after asking twice the kitchen staff and waiting staff could be heard shouting about it. Very uncomfortable. No apologies offered. The one point was for the childrens fish and chips which was very nice even though the waitress huffed and puffed because my 5 year old grandson took 15 seconds to choose beans or peas then changed his mind which apparently warranted a roll of her eyes. We live local so know better value and service is available.

Just awful…. So so expensive. Kids menu is a rip off, £5.20 for the lunch box, and you don’t even get a full sandwich (you get two little triangles) Garlic bread and kids food came out first, garlic bread was cold and mains came out 10 mins later. Chicken in the panini was terrible quality and full of black chunks, the jacket potato was also cold, no butter on it, and a small pot of cheese on the side which was covered in flour so out of a pre grated bag. Had a side of chips which were also barely warm when they came out. For £30 I expected more. Really pricey for what it is and I’ll also add that the cafe was practically empty so I dread to think what the food is like on a busy weekend.

Food always good here, tables get full quick so sometimes have to have a hunt round or a little wait. Staff are friendly and food is always freshly cooked. Love the app as it easy to order and you don't have to leave your table. The pub itself is a little dark because of the dark décor.

What have you done! after battling with the self service machine, we waited 15 minutes for our take away drinks. We watched all the orders piling up on the counter going cold while the staff argued amongst themselves, utter chaos. Bums on seats why would you care. If this is progress I don't want it. I wont come again.

We stopped here earlier in the year and found good service and good food so returned with friends to find rude and abrupt service. Food was ok, but felt like had to gulp it down and go as so unwelcome. The woman serving was abrupt and sullen and it was not busy, so that cannot be the excuse. On the way back we stopped at the Otter Valley the other side of the road which was FAR superior in every way.

Absolutely filthy, deeply stained fabric seats. Every table inside and outside was sticky and dirty. Litter everywhere. Dead rat outside of main entrance near to Cornish pasty concession. Two sandwiches and two drinks from Pret a Manger at £13, absolute rip off. Bloody disgrace.

Nice spot, lovely staff but!! Building in need of updating, and the food is of very low quality, and overpriced, also waited a long time and then part of the order we placed was not ordered by the staff member taking orders! This is a historic venue but sadly it was probably at its best in 1965 😢

Don’t waste your money here. The food (we had cake) and drinks are fine… how hard can it be to make a cup of tea? It’s the surface here which is appalling as well as the manners and attitude of the staff. We ordered two slices of cake, a pot of tea, a children’s drink and a cup of coffee. It must’ve taken almost 10 minutes for these things to be delivered to our table… We sat in the dog-friendly area because I had taken my small black dog with me. The dog friendly area had an empty water bow;l today was a very hot day and my little dog was thirsty so i asked for some water only to be told they couldn’t touch the bowl, but they could get us a jug of water. Couldn’t see a problem with filling the water bowl, but my do, my responsibility; the water didn’t came so my friend went to ask again. The colleague who offered to get some water hadn’t so I ended up going to get the water that was intended for people to drink. Why advertise yourself as dog friendly when something as simple as a bowl of water on a hot summer day is too much trouble? Just rude, indifferent people. Service throughout the whole garden centre is impossibly slow. there's an absolutely brilliant little local nursery just down the road, and just across the road from dobbies there is a fantastic café , go there instead and spend your money there. Dobbies is a big chain and they really don’t seem to care about customer service.
