The best restaurants serving Asian food in England

False advertising, filthy tables, and terrible service – we walked out We booked a table for 8 at Sonar Gaon based on their advertised 50% off buffet deal, valid until the 21st of April. The booking was confirmed a week in advance. However, when we arrived, there was no table reserved for us. Instead, staff tried to split our group across two separate tables, which we were not happy with. We were told to wait, so we did — while some of our group were still on the way. I used this time to ask the manager about the buffet price, and to my surprise, he quoted the full price despite the promotional offer we had booked under. Very dishonest. On top of that, the tables and the floor were filthy, covered in food left behind by previous diners. It was clear cleanliness wasn’t a priority. We were kept waiting for 45 minutes, with staff constantly saying “5 more minutes” but making no real effort to accommodate us. Eventually, we had no choice but to leave. A very disappointing experience — misleading advertising, poor hygiene, and appalling customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Because it's now under new management, I thought I'd give it a chance, and I'm so pleased I did. I had a vegetarian special 'Dall Mirchi Mac' with an aloo paratha and it was as good as I've had anywhere. Really tasty and very generous portions. If you're put off by the older reviews, check out the latest ones. Would definitely recommend and will be going again. PS I'm not affiliated with the restaurant in any way. I just wanted people to know how good it is now.

Just tried here for tea with the family.. Very bad.. just plain dry I just three the lot straight in the bin.

Absolutely avoid luke the plague! We booked this hotel as it said it was pet friendly and after a phone call to the hotel confirming that there was no extra charge for my 2 dogs . After a 3 hour drive we arrived and went to check in and was "greeted " by a very aggressive Asian man shouting that he was busy and i would have to wait. After a few minutes he slammed a pen and a form on the counter and simply said complete this. I filled in the form biting my tongue more for my wife's sake. I handed him the forms back and he demanded £120 which i questioned as we had already payed for our stay with booking.com. For the dogs he shouted and i explained that I had already confirmed with the hotel that there wouldn't be a charge for this. £120 must be paid for the dogs he demanded in a very aggressive manner to which i replied who do you think you are talking to? He turned away and disappeared! I spoke to another member of staff after waiting 10 minutes and he told me that the man i was speaking to was the manager and he had left the hotel and didn't know when he would be back. We had to book another hotel at short notice and eventually got our money back through our credit card as both the hotel and booking.com refused a refund.

Really lovely authentic Thai food, we would highly recommend! The staff were very friendly and lovely to our children. We would definitely come back!

I do NOT recommend this place at all. This used to be my favourite place for food. 28/3/25, I ordered a delivery through their website at 8pm. Took the payment but no confirmation message. It is now 10pm. Still no confirmation message and cannot get through to the company to see what is happening. I even tried to call on my partners phone and it rings but no one answers. NOT HAPPY AT ALL! I really hope I get my money back!!!!!!!

Lovely authentic food, hotel has v. Comfy beds (hypnos) needs updating and refurb but such good food worth a meal and stay overnight ???

¡Sorprendido de que el rating sea tan alto! £ 16 . 5 por adulto £ 11 para un niño pequeño. Mala selección. Salsas muy acuosas , varias opciones no estaban picantes. El cargo del 10% por servicio es una broma. La higiene es cuestionable en el mejor de los casos. Si pudiera dar menos de 15 lo haría. Sé que son una trampa turística y no usarán cortes de carne de primera calidad, pero no harán absolutamente ningún esfuerzo para crear platos sabrosos. Lo único positivo fue que nadie estaba realmente enfermo como resultado de comer aquí.

Cuando oí sombrero Margalla Grill era propiedad de la misma persona/equipo de gestión como Himalaya restaurante estaba bastante dispuesto a probarlo. Fui con mi familia esperaba una experiencia agradable. Me quedé muy decepcionado.La camarera que nos servía tenía una muy fuerte que emite olor de ella. Algo entre la transpiración y el aceite. Dos veces tuve que parar yo preguntándole a poner algunos spray corporal.Pedí pollo Schezwan y mi marido pidió un plato de fideos (fideos de Singapur o algo similar). La comida era muy promedio, y la mía tenía muchos ñames. Fue dando a esta particular olor que yo no pude soportary tan sólo tenía el pollo y otros vegetales del pollo schezwan.Cuando pedimos el té y el café, las tazas y el platillo tenían té/café corriendo por. La camarera o no aviso el o ella no me molestaron. Me tomó un tejido y limpiado las tazas de té y al platillo.En general fue una experiencia penosa. No lo recomendaría para el almuerzo y la cena. Quizás si solo bocadillos (pakoray, samosas, rollos) o podría ser mejor.El ambiente estaba bien pero nada especial.
