Nous avions réservé pour un groupe scolaire plusieurs mois à l’avance. Malgré les relances écrites via Facebook (où ils sont toujours actifs) et WhatsApp (le numéro direct du gérant) nous n’avions plus eu de nouvelles. En arrivant la bas le restaurant n’était pas ouvert et le gérant a eu l’audace de me dire que j’avais appelé pour annuler. A fuir à tout prix.

We were four from difficult cities of Canada and London, UK Food was not very good. Staff were okay. Washroom was dirty and had no paper towel or napkins. Jilabi tray ( desert) was empty. It took requests to two servers to bring some. They brought few broken pieces of jilabi although they were making fresh jilabi at the front of the restaurant.

The place looks good from the outside, but in reality it's just a scam. There's a sign that says, 'Children - £9.45 and Adults - £15.' So we enjoyed having the food, but we had no drinks, although we were having a buffet, and there were no desserts, except for rice pudding and one more thing. We finished our food, and when we had to pay, they charged all of us adult price. To thhem, anyone who is 3-10 are children, anyone from 11+ are adults. We had 4 children with us, one was under 10, still charged us £15, and the rest of them were not 16. The price was outrageous! Would not recommend.

I went to buy Haleem and ordered for it to take away. I was informed that it would take 15 minutes, however it took 30 minutes. I could not taste it unitl I cam back home. After opening, I found that it was not proper Haleem. They mixed chunk of meat with lenti. It was the worst Haleem I had ever had. When I went to pay the counter, a muslim Hijabee woman asked for my payment. I paid by card, and noticed that she took extra charge. I queried her why she took extra money. She neither said it was a mistake nor said sorry. It appears an ignorant person who does not know what to say or how to deal customers. So, when I as raising the voice, another person came and asked her to pay the balance in cash, but she did not want to pay, which is terribly bad attitude, unprofessional, beyond the code of business in the UK. However, the other person paid the balance, not her. It is really terrible expereince, being muslims they deliberately serve low quality food, charge extra. So please be careful if you ever go there.

Starter was all cold, bland food & desserts were tasteless. There was bad smell coming from toilets, very disappointing.

The lady who makes food outside stall was extremely rude the owner needs to see the attitude their staff shows towards a customers. a few customers came behind me came to buy food and saw the behaviour and they ALL LEFT. Sonargaon loose customers due to rude STAFF. my food was stale i told the lady she said it was fine I came home my whole family had Diarrhoea and vomiting and the lady said I have bad taste and so much more if i where to write all the story out I would be writing 3 pages we asked for manager , owner lady tells me she is manager and owner as if i would believe that no boss would do that NEVER EVER AGAIN TO THE SONARGAON RESTURANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely restaurant just down from Whitechapel Station .Buffet was great value and offered a huge variety of meat and veggie dishes .Staff couldn’t be more helpful

Went today with my friend, his first time he loved the place and the food was great. Nice good reasonable price £11 for buffet. Really good service from waiters, only downside was the washrooms need to be more clean and tidy.

Wow what an incredible restaurant. The most beautiful food with the most friendly welcome. We felt like part of the family. Very very poor customer service. We entered in the place and standing up a while to find a member of staff who can give us a table but there is no one. After a long wait we sat down a table and start eating buffet. After 10 minutes someone came to us and ask for drinks.the staff aren't bothered about customer, I saw one gentleman (staff) was standing in front of the bar and drinking red bull which is terrible to see staff eating in frontofthecustomer.The plate was very cold but food was good. The staff are very irresponsible. Great food,great price but very bad customer service.

I been to many buffet restaurant across London but this one i will not recommend to anyone. I wondered why it wasn't busy! Food totally tasteless and cold. Service is a shame. Few dishes on buffet and not good choices. Feel like £10 went to drain. It doesn't deserve any star. My request to travellers have fish n chips instead!!

2nd time here, Food was surprising nice... but we was there less than 40mins and felt harassed to leave, as we waited to digest food... Customer service is yet to be desired. We was approached three times to leave... from now on will stick to feast and mishti, who are far more welcoming.

Tuvimos que devolver el plato de papas para que se calentara y pedir más naans que no se hubieran quemado. Hablamos con el gerente sobre la calidad y el sabor de la comida y nos dio una explicación extraña de que 'atendían el área'. El gerente realmente nos dijo cuando nos íbamos que la próxima vez le pediría al chef que hiciera la comida con más sabor para nosotros. ¿Por qué alguien en su sano juicio pagaría un buen dinero por una experiencia repetida y por una comida que no tiene sabor? ¡Nunca más! ! !

Sin duda el peor buffet de la historia. La comida es fría o dura. El servicio al cliente cero y los camareros también podrían estar durmiendo, ya que no sirven de nada. Se solicitó un gerente, sin embargo, la camarera me miró confundida. Totalmente una pérdida de dinero. Evitar en todas las longitudes. Aquí está Estoy pensando que íbamos a obtener alimentos frescos de la cocina ... ¡MAL! el camarero, fue al bufé, puso el dall en un bol junto con el arroz, recogió la samosa de la sección de catering al aire libre justo detrás de nosotros ( ¡Si supiéramos que podríamos haber llegado y haberlo conseguido nosotros mismos! ¡El bortha de pescado seco había salido de un frasco, en serio podría haberlo hecho yo mismo en casa! Aparecen mis kebabs en un sizzler que resultó ser un paquete congelado CHICKEN Kebabs ( en ninguna parte del menú decía que eran kebabs de pollo y para agregar insulto a la lesión, mis 2 kebabs estaban en fac t 1 x kebab cortado por la mitad para hacer 2 piezas! La parata no estaba a la vista, así que cuando llegó el momento, los kebabs estaban tibios. El relleno de samosa estaba racionado y realmente tuve problemas para encontrar la carne picada en el relleno. Tuve que llamarlos varias veces para la salsa de chile y menta, que cuando llegó finalmente estaba en el mismo plato y una porción para 1 persona para compartir entre 4 y ninguna cuchara para recogerla. ¡MUY DECEPCIONANTE! No volveré.

Fui allí para probar la auténtica comida de Bangladesh. Decepcionado con la comida estaba fría y fuera de fecha. Para dar y ejemplo. Había alrededor de uno sirviendo todo el piso hasta que mi padre hizo la queja de que reclutaron algunos más. La comida era muy mala, el servicio era muy pobre. El personal no pudo ser visto cuando fue requerido

El domingo, vine aquí hace una semana con una amiga que no había visto en mucho tiempo. Nos atrajo la idea de un buffet libre con charlas entre cursos.Tengo que decir que el 95% de lo que probamos fue realmente bueno. Los únicos platos que no me gustaron son el curry de pescado y el curry de pollo. Los sabores eran geniales, pero ambos platos eran demasiado huesudos.¡Subimos tres veces cada uno! El plato de pollo al curry kebab fue genial en particular. Pero amamos a todos los demás. Los platos complementarios como los chutneys y encurtidos fueron excelentes, al igual que el aloo de espinacas y el aloo de papa.La clientela del restaurante era casi exclusivamente asiática, lo que demuestra su excelencia y autenticidad. Había alrededor de seis opciones para el plato principal, que estaban todos etiquetados curry de carne, cordero al curry, pescado al curry, etc., etc., creo que te dan la imagen! No hubo gustos interesantes o innovadores en los platos y sin duda no se mantienen calientes, que es un requisito muy importante de un servicio de estilo buffet. His ethnic customers even obstructed the British government officials business with Miah, when they came to collect money on his outstanding debts. Those people are guests in England, and they treat British officials and British utility companies like stupid people. Stay away from this restaurant! I've been here once before with friends who live in Kensington, and the food was terrible, and the place was dirty. We didn't stay to finish our meal.

Reservamos una mesa para 10 personas para iftar. Durante el período de reserva confirmaron que habría un menú Iftar especial y artículos de buffet regulares. This restaurant offers a huge choice of Bangladeshi food to cater for all ages. Meat, fish and chicken curries were really tasty. Not enough choice of desserts.

I was not sure what to expect for an £8 buffet. The food was generally ok tasty but not to my liking.

Yes some of the reviews are right, it's suppose to be a traditional Bangladeshi restaurant.

If you appreciate authentic Indian and Bangladesh cuisine, then also look at the other 4 and 5 star reviews of this restaurant. If you prefer westernized Indian cuisine with added cream and sugar, then look at the other 1 and 2 star reviews. The diversity of the buffet selection is excellent which is available all day every day. Much of the food is on the spiced side, so if you like your Indian food more mellow, then this is not the place for you. You will often find many other diners here of Indian and Bangladesh heritage, so some that are familiar with this cuisine certainly consider this place a good choice, especially when you consider there are about a dozen other Indian and Bangladesh restaurants within easy walking distance. It is pretty much self serve: you seat yourself, get your own food and even your own water, and go to the counter when you are ready to check out and pay. Personally I don't mind that as it makes for faster service than waiting for staff to come to your table. The lack of service probably accounts for how they are able to offer an all you can eat buffet all day for just 6.95. I've eaten an many dozen Indian Restaurants throughout the United States and almost a dozen in London, plus the home of several Indian friends. The taste, texture, spice and selection ranks among the best I've had. But, I can't emphasize enough as others in their reviews have done, the food has not been modified to accommodate western palates. It is a place to go if you like authentic cuisine. I've had the same problem with reviews of Indian Restaurants in America: If they have a great rating, I usually find the food terrible and seldom see anyone in the restaurant of Indian heritage. But where the ratings are low, the food in my opinion is wonderful and usually is patronized by many of Indian heritage. Of course, the ratings get all mixed up when you are in areas of heavy Indian populations like Silicon Valley where the good restaurants do get good ratings and the less authentic get poor ratings.

Si eres un indio pijo, y con eso me refiero a ti como 'comida india inglés", rellenas de azúcar y crema completa, entonces éste no es para ti. Si por otro lado desea un buffet de comida india preparada como indios como, a un precio razonable, con una buena variedad, entonces este es el lugar perfecto. Buen precio, bebidas en latas, 7 o 8 curries, con lados, salsas, arroces, etc. . . Los inodoros podía hacer con un poco de renovación, pero bueno, parte de la experiencia. En realidad aparece en día padres en unos pocos días. . .

We went quite some time ago but thought the food was absolutely fantastic for a buffet. £6.95 was very well priced compared to some of the nonesense we have in Birmingham.The service was good and efficient. The place was clean and tidy. It was so comfortable there that we agreed between ourselves that if we go to that part of London again, we'd visit the same restaurant.But having read some of the reviews here, it seems as if business has not been doing too well of late. Anyway, we'll probably go back to check for ourselves

I am totally lost by the poor reviews this place got. The staff didn't speak a great deal of English and just kind of let you get on with it but they were nice enough; the place itself was sort of decorated but a little on the basic side. So far, not that impressive but ok. So, onto the food. It was proper Indian food with a decent selection of veg, meat and fish dishes. And, it was fantastic and the best I've had in some time. It was more on the side of authentic Indian food than what we normally expect but there was still a chicken tikka masala, a fairly hot madras and a biryani. Due to the staff's lack of clarity on how any of it all worked prior to my meal, I nearly fell over when I received over three pounds change from my tenner - I almost reported myself for a robbery! Not exactly the place to propose to the future missus but, if you fancy a cheap and tasty Indian meal, get yourself down to this place asap!

I cannot understand the poor reviews. It is what it claims to be, a simple traditional Indian buffet restaurant. I have been eating there for years. Sonargaon has a significant Indian customer base and hence the food is not aimed at western fine diners. The selection is good not great, the quality is good not great, the food is tasty. It is simple food at cheap price. It is great to sit with friends or colleague to eat in a relaxed environment. Only soft drinks are serviced.

We really wished we actually followed the reviews!! Wow. This was actually the worst bengali/indian resturant we have ever been to.Went in and the waitress said have a seat and dissapeared and started collecting dishes. No acknowledgement of us. Had to get up and call her then she told us about the buffet and took drink orders.Selection is tiny. EVERY single dish is tasteless and cold. Very oily and just plain terrible. Not that there is many dishes. Better of drinking water and filling yourself up.Customer service. There wasn't any. Rude.Food- if thats what you call it. Was terrible.Really wished we actually gone with all the reviews.There's a reason why place is empty.Price-£6.95 per person. Only good thing. Very cheap. That's the only reason it got a 1 star. We decided to come here as its only a short walk from home. My first reaction was to wonder why it was so quiet. Customer service wasn't great-not much interaction but I prefer to be left alone unless i need something. Food selection was ok, tasty. They could have been a bit more adventurous with the menu. For desert only 2 options but again the yogurt i had was tasty. General cleanliness of the floor wasnt great. Place was generally relaxed but i got the feeling noone was aiming for 5 stars

At £6.95 for all you can eat I wasn't expecting that much.To be fair what I did eat was tasty enough but there wasn't that much choice.What I didn't like was the fact all the meat wasn't boned. Every time I put something in my mouth I had to ensure I didn't chew or swallow some bone.I wish I'd paid a few quid more and had a main, rice and nan at one of the other restaurants. It would have been more enjoyable

Stay away. We went there last night to join a birthday party. Food was from their buffet offering. All the dishes tasted terrible. I wonder why people go there. I know because it is cheap. And you get what you pay for!

Was expecting average buffet restaurant type food and what i found was much worse. The food was just horrible really. Two types of rice with one being a biriani filled with lots of meat on the bone. The curries were all swimming in grease with lots of bone and even fish heads in the fish curry. The veggie dishes were OK but by far the best thing was the naan bread. Really struggled to eat a plate full and left very disappointed. It was all either cold or luke warm too. Avoid

A disappointing meal - it is not until a selection of starter meals are taken that you realise the food is luke-warm. Main course meals are warmer but the quality is not appertising, despite the wide range of choice. Meals are replenished at regular intervals. We (x4) should have made a better choice of restaurant as the indicator was there - very few customers sitting down and having a meal. We were attracted by the buffet meal cost which was cheap - a wrong choice.

We have been here twice - for 6.95£ you can't go wrong. That's how much per plate costs anywhere else. All you can eat buffet (chicken curry, Lamb, chicken tandoori, rice briani, nan, lentils, chickpeas) all you need for a great quick meal.Nothing fancy but we enjoyed it. Food just came out fresh when we were there. Only thing not licensed so no beer with meal.

This place is on the end of Brick Lane and, although we only tried one more (Preem), which was very good, I cannot believe there are many worse.

I took my family there just a few days ago, there was 12 of us, including my 8 month baby. I heard very highly of this place in the past and this was our first visit dispite living outside of the London region. We had a family day out in Richmond Bushy Park then decided to come here for the evening dinner. When we walked in, we weren't attended by a member of staff. It was strange and we couldn't recognise who were staff. We were in a total shock as this wasn't a good start. It just didn't feel welcoming, there were hardly any waiters/waitresses to serve us. One gentlemen who seemed to be a customer stood up and just pointed towards the corner of the restaurant and said to take a seat in any of those tables, he didn't even guide us to the table but instead he just watched as we walked past.Once we sat down, we realised that there was a wedding taking place downstairs and seemed very busy. Our tables didn't have any cutlery apart from a glass with a tissue napkin inside it. I can understand that most of the staff were busy serving the wedding guests down below but you need more staff to serve other customers on this floor. It was very hard to tell who was staff and who were customers. 7-8mins later, a school boy lookalike waiter came over and said we may start when we're ready. He never even asked if we'd like any drinks at all or even give us a little tour of where and how their buffet works. We just had to work our way around. Later, when we asked for the drinks menu, we were given a homemade laminated card stating a total of 8/10 drinks. And that was it, no other non - alcoholic drinks.The food was tasteless and mostly cooked with on the bone chicken or meat. We all just looked at one another and thought what on earth are we doing here!All the chicken dishes were cooked with chicken wings, thats just so cheap! The meat dish was literally full of bones and sunk in oil. There was hardly any lentils in the Tarka Dhal, its was more like a watery based soup. The fish dish was extraordinary as it consisted only the fish heads and the tails. We we're like omg! This is unbelievable for a buffet restaurant. We find it hard to believe that such a restaurant is still here in Osbourne Street/Brick Lane of East London, especially when curry is heard to be renowned within this area.The restaurant wasn't clean, it was tatty in most places. There was spider webs everywhere along with sellotape and bluetacs across the walls and ceiling. The toilets were very unhygienic and lacking to be up to standards. We were also disappointed because they didn't even have a desserts menu as the kids wanted an ice cream. What a shame!Whoever is reading my statement may think im over exaggerating but this is the actual truth of our first experience at the Sonargaon Restaurant. So please, i personally wouldn't recommend anyone here as it would be a huge disappointment for your family and friends. Go elsewhere if you really want good food and a warm welcoming experience. I'd recommend you the Monsoon, which is a few doors down. I've eaten there a few times in the past and was always satisfied.

One of the first eating places up Brick Lane, with all-day buffet at £6.95; w were in a bit of a rush.Let us not beat about the bush - this is cheap, particularly when you can get 3 courses for that.Poppadums plus bowl of pickles and sauces; the choice of 8 or so main dishes, 2 rices, 3 or 4 vegetables. Yes there were onion rings and chips - but also a good chick pea mix and some white/yellow vegetable dish, salads too. After that a couple of deserts - we had what I think was semolina with cardoman(?). The dishes are labelled, but tersely eg "fish". No alcohol licence, but chilled drinks or lassi. The staff were friendly but let you get on with it once they had shown you the set-up; then you ate as much as you liked. The flavours were standard, and not too hot.Altogether not unpleasant, quite a new experience ... and cheap!

Being in Brick Lane I had foolishly hoped for great food at reasonable prices to the standard you find in Southall or Birmingham. If this restaurant represents the typical standard for Brick Lane then I would be appalled.Chips, tomato ketchup and onion rings!!! Come on! Chicken with more bone than meat. Oily pilau rice. Poppadoms that tasted of old oil. Pakora, dried out, the list of disappointment goes on. Everything was clean but the place is very shabby and the toilets although clean are pretty dire. The owners need to sort themselves out and represent the community well, or close.

The main positive is that the food here is cheap. However, this is outweighed by the fact that there are a fair few negatives.First of all, you don't actually know what you're eating; the food is simply labelled 'fish', 'beef', etc (and that's when it is labelled). The food is also low quality, but I guess that is to be expected when the price is low. However, the staff took a while to replace the empty food and when they did, they simply put the hot food on top of the cold - a big no.There is also no bar here, but the soft drinks are cheap enough (£1 for a can of coke). The staff are quick to serve you but not very friendly. Overall, this place ain't great - but for £7 all you can eat it isn't bad. I'd return, but I think I'd rather pay a few quid more for a higher standard though.

sub standard food made for unsuspecting western palate! soggy biriyani.The fact that it was shut down by hygiene officers says it all.

The restaurant looks lovely, quick friendly service. We ordered popadums as soon as we sat down, they were fresh and serviced with good relish etc, although the bright orange weird coconuty crumbly stuff was a mystery. Our food when it arrived was fresh and clearly made with good quality ingredients. Unfortunately it was a bit bland an lacked the spicy flavours I would expect from dishes I've had many times elsewhere. The cost was about £15 more than I've paid in other places, although I normally takeaway. Still the lovely decor meant we had high expectations of the food and were left feeling a bit let down.

nous avions mangé dans ce restaurant buffet il y a deux ans et l'expérience nous avait bien pluquelle erreur d'avoir voulu y retournertout est médiocreaccueil négligé, il a fallu demander trous fois min coca avant de finalement me décider à aller le chercher au bartoilettes infâmes, on y va se laver les mains alors qu'il importe surtout de se les désinfecter en en sortantnourriture au mieux médiocre, au pire les viandes trop cuites nagent dans des sauces qui feraient la joie des services d'hygièneplus jamais, merci. il y a tellement mieux pour le même budget sur brick lane
