Was expecting it to be really bad from other reviews but was surprisingly okay. Staff are useless and you should expect a wait for even the simplest things such as a glass or more water for your table. They ran out of cups so got some disposable plastic ones from the superstore next door (which they also own) we had a wedding reception there so they could have been better prepared. It's hot and stuffy in there as only one area has air conditioning and I didn't see any baby high chairs. (No one offered us one either way) food was so so. Simple curry and rice. So nothing different from what you can make at home or get from a takeout.

The food was ok, their was slight smell around the place or it could be around area not sure, so wouldn't be going back any time soon.

Nearly empty but that just means others are missing out. Tasty Indian fare at a good price, especially with a taste card for 50% off food.

Tried this coz recommended by a friend. they got the order wrong. I git plain nan instead of tandoori roti and the poppadoms tastes old and greasy and it did not come with chutney as specified on the menu. The jalfrezi and korma were not great either.

We went late in the evening on a mid week after dropping to kids off at my in laws to celebrate my wife’s promotion at work. They staff we’re very friendly and accommodating. Food was decent too

Staff don't know how to talk with customers

Me and my boyfriend are regulars there, we really like it. The food is good and tasty, and it’s not expensive. The waiters are nice all the time.

Aunque nunca fueron nada especial, al menos la comida solía ser "calidad de restaurante barata", lamentablemente han tenido un cambio de política.Mientras que solían cocinar ellos mismos (o más) ahora compran alimentos precocinados de los supermercados y le dan un microondas rápido (especialmente cosas como sus aloo parathas, que solían ser buenas (grandes, de buen sabor, rellenas de patata) y ahora son solo pequeños círculos húmedos de masa insípida (básicamente los congelados puedes obtener 20 por 3, y luego cocinar en 5 minutos), el mismo patrón ha sucedido con la mayoría de sus productos (por ejemplo, los kebabs, las chuletas, el curry ). La comida se ha vuelto insípida, húmeda y decepcionante.Si literalmente no posee ni un horno, un microondas o una cocina, puede considerar comprar comida aquí, de lo contrario, podría comprar las mismas cosas prefabricadas de su supermercado local y calentarse usted mismo (no podría hacer es peor).

Ordered £17.40 worth of food and requested sauces but nope they gave us nothing, apparently we had to pay for it.. so dry chips it was, they could easily charge us 50p for paying with a card but we had to pay for sauces. And to top it off i ordered a grill chicken burger and they gave me a chicken tikka burger small cubes of chicken tikka in a burger wth!!! They had no manners on the phone got my order mixed up with uber eats when i ordered with juseat really frustrating, total shambles.! Never again!

Always wondered why the restaurant it's empty when I walk past. It makes sense, the food is awful. The tandoori chicken tasted really rubbery with a layer of tandoori spices over it. Samosas were great must say, but everything else is questionable.

Very close to canary warfh located on isle of dogs. So if you want Indian groceries take a 135 towards isle of dogs get off at Cuba street and you can get across the street to Clifton express. Grill house is also a nice place if you just want to eat India food

Nasty food at extortionate rates.

Communication and delivery time was good. The actual quality of the food was very disappointing. The Peri Peri mixed grill was inedible because of the awful sauce that covered it. The fizzy yellow accompanying sauce was dreadful. First and last time I will order from this takeaway. Very disappointing.

I ordered a whole grilled seabass and was given a few pieces of frozen fish fillets. I ordered brown rice and was given white steam rice. I've eaten in their restaurant and ordered the same thing and it was a lot better. So I'm very disappointed.

La cocina abierta con una barra para más como llevar en contraposición a la impresionante previamente. El fracaso más memorable fue el pésimo estado de los baños, construido. . .Utilizamos una tarjeta de descuento, que era la única salvación.pedimos un plato de cordero, que era difícil, pero fue reemplazada el cartílago cuando nos quejamos. el resto de la comida estaba bien, pero no vale la pena el largo recorrido hacia la zona de Docklands.

Went for a late night curry with the wife. The restaurant was very quiet but he staff were extremely courteous and kind. Food and service was very good too

Had visited this place with a group for dinner. Staff were almost rude, disinterested and seemed to be in a hurry. Food is more about color than taste. Quantities were decent, but taste was way below par. That coupled with the service, we also got into a hurry to leave.

It is a big fraud, I order two Tandoori roti and they deliver only one. They charge 2.25 GBP for a roti. I contacted they for this issue, they said we are not responsible as you have order from Just Eat. I will suggest people to starve rather than ordering from this place.

Su veredicto es que estaba ok...compared razonablemente contra su habitual salir de la zona chill de Tesco mostrador pero su arroz pilau no era tan sabroso como Tesco . 'Ya he dicho bastante. Sin embargo, fue completamente entretenidos en mi pedido de una hamburguesa con patatas fritas! La hamburguesa ... que por su nombre indica dos partes no están de acuerdo ... era simplemente queso ... no hamburguesa! Me llamó para explicar que parecía que he perdido mi hamburguesa ... no está mal ... que deberá conseguir otro. Sobre media hora más tarde algún otro lugar llamó para preguntarme cómo mi problema fue con mi pedido. Me explicó pedí una hamburguesa pero había recibido un hash brown". de queso sin la hamburguesa. Así! eso es lo que ofrecemos. No no te he dicho ... su menú no lista un hash brown". de queso ... pero lista hamburguesas con queso ... que es lo que me esperaba recibir! No nos encienden baps hamburguesas con queso. Pero no había pedido un hash brown". de queso ... Pedí una hamburguesa. así no vamos a enviarle un reemplazo fue su respuesta! Bien, entonces yo no deberá pedir de nuevo ... y yo les diremos que sé lo que todo el mundo que proporcionan servicio muy mala calidad!!! Hecho!

He estado viviendo en Docklands por más de 5 años y el restaurante de Clifton es y ha sido uno de mis restaurantes favoritos. We went on a Saturday night table of 6 enjoyed the evening with lively background music, very attentive staff. We were served popdums and sauces and then our orders were taken. our starters came quite quick and the lovely aroma of our food and sizzling mix grill was absolutely delicious as it looked. I will recommend for anyone to go and enjoy their tasty mouthwatering mix grills worth a visit for. Will visit again soon with my family.

Maybe after seeing all the rubbish outside and windows that had not been cleaned for ages we should not have entered but as we had eaten here several years ago and the food was good and tasty, thought would we go in and maybe the outside appearance was not reflected in the food. But we were wrongThis time it was insipid bland and tasteless, the meat dishes had only a few pieces of meat and the rest was the sauce. I have no idea why they bought a plate with some olives out with the main courseThe house wine tasted like cordial and when we looked at the bottle it was only 7.5% alcohol, nothing on the wine list indicated the wine was low alcohol content. On pointing this out they waiter did swop it for a normal strength wine 11.5%.It little things like this that make me never want to go back again as we felt cheated by both the food quality and the wine menu not stating the alcohol content of a wine .

Have lived close to Cliftons for quite some time and it has constantly disappointed....When this place first opened at this location about 8 or 9 years ago, it was *REALLY* good....but, over the years, the staff have gotten used to their Indian party parties to keep the business afloat and really just dont care about those who are coming to use the restaurant as a place to eat out.The interior has been in some state over time, e.g. an aircon unit removed from the ceiling, taped up with a black bin bag, then as the sellotape fell off, it ripped from the ceiling, leaving damage and a huge hole.... and it was there for over a year....Their menus were old, sticky, ripped and with items scored out in pen and with hand written prices on stickytape covering the original ones.Recently, they closed for about 6 or 8 weeks after a hugely damning report from Environmental Health. They ripped out some of the interior, but after 4 or 5 months, there are parts of it still strewn like rubbish outside the front door.Recently changed to Cliftons Grill, they now officially also serve burgers and other non-Indian food. However the one time I tried to order anything from that menu (the only time since their re-opening) I was told they didnt have very much in stock on that menu.All rather odd, as they also own the mini-supermarket next door....It is only EVER busy when they are catering for an event - and I have never seen one take place that is not Asian in nature.All in all, this place is really not worth a trip to - there are 2 other Indian places within 2minutes walk and another within 5.

literally the worst place ever! ordered a 'monster burger' for £7.xx, it clearly said with an extra patty but only received 1? Not just that, the burger is processed??! I was expecting a gourmet Burger, which idiot would pay £7.xx for a single processed burger?! The full chicken was not even full, they cut some of the breast off and gave us two legs and two 'boney' breast pieces? avoid this place.

The chef needs to learn how to cook properly. The food was very dry, not enough spice added. Burnt and not up the standard.

me and my boyfriend are both Irish. Our favourite food is Indian. We have visited many Indians throughout East london. By far , Clifton is my favourite. I have never had any issues with the food or staff. I'm not sure how people can put such bad reviews ! Each time I have visited , the food has been 5* quality. I've photographed every meal, for my Instagram page. I wouldn't do that if it wasn't good right ? The staff are very polite and quick to serve and get the food out to us. The prices are amazing. Two people , with sides, mains , starters and drinks , on a normal day-25 pound maximum. To us, this is the best one around. So unless you think your too good for an East end restaurant , I highly recommend you ignore the other silly comments , and try it out for yourself! You won't regret it.

Driver was unable to find my apartment building, this has never happened with any othe delivery service. The naan was cold upon arrival. Not impressed.

Dishes sizes were big and spicy, atmosphere was dark and one song was playing constantly. It was OK but not a place for a second visit.

Food is amazing. Delivery is very speedy, HOWEVER I rated "service" lower because the food was delivered immediately despite it was asked for a later time. They said that their system can not manage deliveries to be done later. This needs to be fixed.

This restaurant serves sub standard food. I was hungry and was looking for a place for a meal after business meetings. I walked in and I should have walked out straight away. The food was tasteless, the service sub standard and I am not going to describe the state of the bathroom. Loads of flies flying around ... I will not come back.

Love this place. Curries are always tasty and all ingredients are fresh. So is beer, tho there's only one kind. Dinner for 2, with alcohol and starters, usually works out at around £30 which I find quite cheap for this area. Never had any problems with the service, and I've been there quite a few times. The only thing about this place is that it's always empty which makes me wonder how they manage to survive, but I'm not bothered. So really, either the place has considerably improved over the last few years or the previous reviewers have been very unlucky (or just full of you know what)

Went there to celebrate sister's birthday...not much to choose from in the menu, we were sat down to eat in a very dark area where we struggled to see what we were eating! Food was cold and parking was also an issue. Won't be eating there again unfortunately.

Been there on a a couple of occasions with work colleagues purely due to the restaurant being close to work and it accepting tastecard at lunch times. On all occasions we were the only ones there, food was okayish but cheap hence went back. On this occasion though I thought I will leave a review.As usual went there with a work colleague for lunch, place was empty again, very unusual as its so close to Xmas and as we walked by other Indian restaurants they all seemed to be busy with parties etc. Once in my colleague and I looked at each other and as we were the only ones we thought about putting our feet into reverse and leave before being seated but felt embarrassed and were seated. Had a 2 course plus side dishes using 241 offer from Tastecard, I had a mixed tikka kebab dish as a starter but when I called the waiter over and handed him my knife and fork and asked him to cut the lamb cube at first he refused but I sort of pulled his hands, placed the cutlery into his hands so he accepted the task (forced him otherwise). He tried to cut into the lamb cube and wasn't getting anywhere, I asked him to put more pressure and use the knife like a saw. When he couldn't penetrate the meat I then gave him a hand and put one of my hands over his and added extra pressure but we still couldn't cut into the meat......piece of hard plastic more likeAnyhow I won't bore you with the rest.I won't go back, with or without Tastecard.Its been 3-4 hours since I had the meal there and am on standby in case I've been poisoned..wish me luck.

We love eating at the Clifton restaurant but the food delivered was not nearly as good quality as normal. They forgot my onion bhaji and the complimentary Diet Coke, and on calling them they offered to re-deliver, but as the food was 20 minutes later than the expected delivery time, I requested a refund. The driver returned with a bottle of Coke (not Diet Coke) and then gave me a cash refund leaving me £1 shorter than the price I paid for the onion bhaji (its £2.25 online and he gave £1.25 in cash refund)! Pretty dismal service, average food and overpaid on undelivered food. Not good enough

I went with a friend as the plc looked quite nice outside. It was Not a pleasant experience. The food was tasteless. Our somosa's tasted like they had gone off! the prawn purée was ok but I had stomache upset that night. So that says it all! Btw I was later told by a friend that this plc was on BBC panorama for its appalling hygeine record.

We used our Tastecards and booked in for Saturday evening at 7. There were four of us. We presented our two cards on arrival. We were the only customers! The service and the food were of a good standard by nothing exceptional. We could tell that the manager was around and he occasionally served us. The bill amounted to just over £50 and one of our party produced a fifty pound note and insisted on paying. I refused as it was my treat and produced my American Express Card as it was clearly marked that they accepted American Express. The manager said he didn't accept this card so I produced a MasterCard. He then said he didn't want the card but only the £50 note!! He had been watching us. I really couldn't believe it. I didn't complain as it would have spoilt the evening for our guests. This is our last visit here. Beware!!!

I went to Clifton docklands after enjoying my experience at the Clifton on whitechapel road.Once again, food was smashing! Service was lagging a little as it was very busy but other then that we had an amazing night!I've recommended it to all my friends and family and those who have visited thus far have thoroughly enjoyed their experience.

I ate here once and the food was terrible it was far too sweet and watery and did not taste like what had been ordered i was compensated by some pink Clifton t-shirts and the actual resturant looked amazing but was let down by food I had previously had a take away which was equally poor and again free t-shirts were the only appology

Called in for dinner. I should have walked out, just like another couple did. Another clue was the dog eared menu and the empty tables. The service was non existent something to do with the staff being outside smoking, I had to ask for my meal twice, despite the lack of other customers. The food did make up for the wait, it was abysmal and was worse than a supermarket ready meal, which it resembled. My complaints were met with an inane grin. Please avoid at all cost, there are much nicer places nearby

Me and a friend went there for lunch as we were feeling peckish and was in the area, this is the second time we have been to Clifton as the food is great. Once again did not fail, staff was friendly, decor and ambience was good, the tandoori chicken, lamb jalfrezi and lamb bhuna was lush. Was really full and could not finish everything off, so had to take home some food. The chocolate dessert was yummy and good value for money!!

I went there with friends on Friday night to benefit from a tastecard 2for1 offer, and to be honest, didn't really expect the food to be spectacular or anything. The place was certainly very quiet, but it didn't discourage us from ordering chicken tofa, lamb achari, sag aloo, with prawn starters, pilau rice and garlic naan. When the food arrived, well, it was amazing. It tasted authentic, fresh, the portion sizes were adequate and we walked out happy and content. Also, great value thanks to 2for1 (albeit only on the mains and starters, not sides)

This place is often quiet but well worth a visit. They also do take away. I'm very fussy with my curry as I live in the North of England with some legendary Indian restaurants. However the food here is authentic well presented and tasty. Enjoyed a balti, mushroom pilau and Naan. Despite it being quiet the waiters did not hover but were efficient and friendly. Much better than the nearby pricier Lime restaurant.

Went to the Clifton restaurant for dinner ,booked it as we have a taste card they had no problem with that even though it was a Friday evening .We was greeted by a very warm welcome , service was very good and our waiter was very polite .Our food was excellent best Prawn puri i have had in a long time my partner loved his starter too our main course was Delicious and plentiful .Toilets were very clean, decor ? I agree a little dark , there were 20 + people dinning so nice atmosphere .Food very reasonably priced and with our taste card very good value for money the waiter even pointed out to us on our bill what we had saved by using our taste card.Overall a lovely meal .Would definitely go again if in the area.Has good website too.

I walked in there to have a dinner, I was instantly turned off by the stale smell in the restaurant. It smelled like a gas but it wasn't. So I decided to get a take away instead. When I was waiting for my order to arrive I was getting more turned off by the dark and cheesy decor. I also realized how dirty and run down all the furnishing was. None of the furnishing wasn't getting cleaned. I arrived home with my dinner. Chicken korma, pilau rice and pashwari naan. Korma was nothing special. Rice tasted very watery and zero salt like it had no taste. I also found a piece of plastic string and hair in my rice. Pashwari naan was the worst bit. Almonds were falling of it like a dried sand each time I grabbed it. I also had a piece of plastic hairy thing coming out of my bread. Even my ice cold beer didn't help to cure this crap meal. Avoid.

If you are looking for Quick service and fair food prices then its a good place. Decoration Purely asian so you have to like that stuff.
