Kolapata has amazing Bangladeshi food, connecting you to the culture of the Asian country. Food has wonderful taste and SPICE. The restaurant service is a little slow, yet manageable. Food doesn't cost much. The restaurant is hard to get to via public transport. A tip - their mix bhorta gives you a lot - making a great price-saver.

Went there with my friends. The food was top class. Then after when we had the finni, I have lost my words. The best ever finni I have ever had. We will be back again❤️ Thanks to the staffs

Very bad service.i have complained because my food wasn't good at all but haven't got any good response from staff and i have to pay full price of that.

The foods are awesome. We tried the Bhuna Khiduchi, Elish Vaja and beef bhuna. Beef bhuna was super delicious. . . not the less very friendly staffs.

Kolapata is an average restaurant. This is typical Indian restaurant. It's based on Bangladeshi food. I been there with much more expectations, but bit disappointing. It has great potential. Services & prices are good. Food taste good. But the overall presentation isn't well enough.

I walked in to kolapata last evening for ifter staff bring me ifter for 1 on a plastic plate (2 dates 2 picess piazu 1 jilabi 1 picess beguni 1 picess alu chop Few picess fruit & some briany )and a small bottle of water guy on counter ask me to pay £9.95 I was shooked. Probably most expensive ifter in entire UK. Big ifter rip off.i will never go there or recommend anyone.

I was with my business friend for meal .food was very good . Service was great . We had Bangladeshi food and quality was good and test is nice . All waiter was trying to serve our food very nice way . But beauty is all and everyone had good smile . Food is excellent and service is great . Mr manager is great . Chef is good . A very average restaurant. Had dinner there. Tasteless food. Menu based on Bangladeshi cuisine--could have been much better. The service was good but the ambiance not. Close to Brick Lane so better off if we had gone there.

I have heard a lot of praise from friends for this restaurant that it serves authentic Bengali food not hybrid English indian version everyone serves in uk. I decided to try the lamb biryani and borhani (yogurt drink). The biryani was bland, dry and boring. I expected much better quality from them.

I have made many visits to this bangladeshi restaurant while staying in uk. Probably this is the best bangladeshi restaurant in uk who loves bengali dishes. I tried there bhuna khithuri which is really nice. The dall is as superb as you expect in Bangladesh . service was good enough. I really enjoyed my times there.

We had lunch here when visiting the area recently. It is quite a basic restaurant, almost a cafe really. We had Fosca as a starter - these were absolutely delicious - little crisp 'pastry' parcels containing a spicy mixture of chick peas and egg and vegetables with a tamarind dip. Honestly, these are one of the nicest starters I have ever eaten and I could have just eaten a massive plate of these! For main courses we had a variety of dishes - I had a fish in a curry sauce. It was a bit boney but again really tasty. My daughter loved the mango lassi drink. Everyone's meal was tasty. Prices are very reasonable, for food and drinks.This restaurant isn't your usual British 'Indian' restaurant. The menu has many dishes that I haven't seen elsewhere rather than the standard Madras/Dhansakh/Bhuna combo that many offer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Can thoroughly recommend eating here!

Dont get confused, its not indian Restaurant, its bangladeshi restaurant. Typical indian recipe lover may be disappointed but the bangladeshi recipe lover will wonder for sure. Special bhuna khichuri, king prawn and halim are must to have. There are also some north indian recipe like kababs, tikka, tandoor item and some biryanis on menu card.

This is the second time I visited the restaurant. My first time was about 4 or 5 years ago and I didn't like it. This time I only went there, because it was saturday night and all the other local Indian / Bangladeshi restaurants were full. As starters we got the Chotpoti (White peas cooked with potato, green chillies, coriander, chopped eggs and Tamarind sauce) and Fosca (Crispy Panipuri stuffed with freshly cooked Chotpoti and served with thin Tamarind sauce). They were not good and also they were quite cold. Also the first dish really smelled of the eggs and it put me off. Then we got:- Vegetable Biriyani served with tarka dall which was very tasty- Motor Ponir (paneer) which was average- chicken tikka which was amazing - an okra dish (can't remember the name) which was average - plain rice, Peshwari Nan and Tandoori Roti which were nice - pistachio kulfi which was okThe service was very slow. The prices are quite cheap. For all of the above we paid £35 total.I don't think I will be going back there again.

went there for lunch. (though never been to bengali cuisine). the food seems like they had prepared earlier and reheated..but the khichodi and spicy drink was tasty but other tasted like precooked items.. didnt appeal to me
