this is the old school pakistani restaurant love the foods here amazing fresh and very nice and friendly owner. the tandoori chicken is 110% Fantastic it taste like old traditional how it was in the 80s 90s. their biryani is also amazingly so good like the tandoori chicken.

Excellent Place. Been going here for over 25 years - the curries are some of the best I have eaten in the whole of London. I love the older man whom I presume is the owner.

Never judge a book by its cover. This is very much an old school East London Pakistani restaurant/ takeaway. There are two sides to this restaurant, one fast food i.e donner and fried chicken and the other side is a Pakistani restaurant. The food is without doubt excellent and made fresh each day, however decor has not been maintained and this is reflected in the price. So for a cheap good meal to have takeaway this place wins hands down for East London.

This place is the original and best kebab house . Originally known as Ahmads shalimar house and been in Hessal street for over 50 years . Original shop was across the road but still the same owner serving good Pakistani food at very keen prices . Its been there longer than other establishments like Lahore kebab house and tayyubs . Also a branch in New Road on the corner of fieldgate street , this branch has been there over 45 years if not more . Same owner with same good good . Staff in the New Road branch are fantastic and long serving .

Been coming here for years now this is the real authentic pakistani/Indian food. No messing about quality food. If you're after a proper donar desi style this is the place delicious food all the time. You must try there Halwa too damn its amazing. The firm favourite once you try you'll keel coming back.

Forget brick lane.this is the place to go to.

Doesn't look the best and need to spend some money on refurb and change their pots and pans. Food quality is overall good for curries and naan breads. Samosas were off (which made me change my overall rating to 3)

숙소 근처에 있던 음식점. 늦은시간에 도착해서 열려있는 음식점이 드물었기에 걱정하며 어쩔 수 없이 들어섰는데 시킨 음식이 참 맛있었습니다. 밑에 깔린 난은 불냄새도 나고 쫀득해서 배가 부른데도 억지로 더 먹을 정도로 맛있었습니다. 계산 할 땐 실수로 지갑 안 돈이 보이게 계산을 했는데(환전한 돈이 꽤됐음)사장님이 본인의 눈을 가리며 계산하며 배려해주셨습니다.

Shalamar is probably the best value for money restaurant I've used. They are unbeatable when it comes to ordering for large gatherings as the food is cooked fresh for collection and the flavours are always consistent. This isn't a high end fine dining type restaurant, but as a regular frequent food place where the price is very reasonable, it is excellent. I found their bulk order food is much much better quality than their in house meals, although still good.

Tenía hambre y pasó pasar este restaurante y llevar. Vimos que tenían asientos tan rápido. Pedimos una maxi hamburguesa con papas fritas y una bebida. Al precio barato, esperaba una pequeña porción, pero lo que llegó fue enorme. Luché y le di a mi esposa algo de mi comida, no para desperdiciarla. Volveremos de visita.

Sólo bajaba aquí para salir de la lluvia, para ser honesto. Para comenzar con el chico detrás del mostrador era extremadamente corto con nosotros mientras estábamos decidir qué conseguir. Sólo dos de los tres de nosotros estábamos para conseguir comida y él realmente parecía tener un problema con eso. Nos sentamos y el kebabs. Sin salsa de ajo, salsa de chili no. En su lugar, una enorme por barato mayo en la cima mirando en mí. Un indicador de lo que a triste. Si tengo que usar tres palabras para describir el pollo sería estas. Seco, suave y negro. Me encontré con no menos de tres huesos. Todo estaba completamente, la ensalada era undersauced cojea. Si hacen una decisión en toda su vida, hacen de este fracaso absoluto evitando un restaurante.

Admito que esto no es de las más bonitas y más lujoso lugar de Biryani. Fuimos a Whitechapel en la búsqueda muy baratos biryani. La comida no era buena para chuparse pero decente y buena parte de tamaño a un precio económico. No es exhaustiva pero menú luego que estábamos allí para el arroz.El inodoro estaba bajo reno cuando comimos ese día, pero espero que pronto será hecho.

Good curry house often over looked in the East End of London. Exterior/name might give you the impression of a run down fried chicken shop but the food inside is good. The curriers are all well spiced and would highly recommend the roti to accompany. You can bring your own alcohol in with no corkage charge.

The worsest place in town, possibly country. The chicken is always undercooked kept in a very dirty cabinet, the salad is made from rotten veg, and it's dirty all over the place. I'm surprised that they're not being chased by the authorities. We had diarrhoea after eating from this place.

STAY AWAY PEOPLE FOOD POISIONING...I ate there last night and the food was the worst I have ever had. I think food inspectors need to close this place down. I believe my friend saw a cockroach on one of the tables so we did takeaway with our orders..... both me and my friend have been sick off work and I will be reporting them to the council.

Would highly recommend you to bring your own cleaning equipment since this place has 0 hygien policy. Slow service, they give you food thats been made from couple days back. I have had food poisoning from this place and I am certainly not surprised by the outcome. Food was horendous and the service is utter dispicable, guy tried making my friend eat a meal he did not order. Strongly recommend you to choose another place to eat.

Anyone thinking of coming here DO NOT!!!!!!! You will get 2 day old chicken which I refused but the guy insisted it was fresh when it was clearlyrotten. Hygiene at this place is terrible as they will prepare your food without washing their hands. TERRIBLE SERVICE... FOOD POISIONING.....

Went there with six other guys late last night on the point of closing time but the owner gave us all a warm handshake and let us stay and order. Wow! I have been to Asian restaurants all over the world and this one ranks foodwise as up there among the best. Everything we ordered was absolutely scrumptious and there was some left over which we just could not put away. Took our own drinks which is unusual, only big niggle is the tidiness of the eating area and the limited seating, hence the missing star. But as a takeaway outlet, go and visit you will not regret it!

Fuimos la primera vez cambiando a Whitechapel, tiene la apariencia de un pobre hombre, los mismos colores, pero diferente nombre dixie. No curry, kebabs y pollo frito.Tengo que decir que no hay nada aquí que es buena.Los estándares de higiene son por debajo del nivel de alcantarillado.El pollo que comí estaba pasada y blanco en vez de un pan de miga marrón recubrimiento dorado...Nunca volver aquí otra vez.Personal no importa el cliente, y se puede decir de su actitud.

Im partial to a kebab but this place serves the best and most generous servings of a delicious kebab in London hands down! Have not tried their curries but people seem to love their food with a mix of people eating fast food and curries.

For a quick grab and tasty food, one must visit this hidden gem. The puri is one to go for with any curry. Tarka daal was exquisite. Great value for money and a quick service. Experienced catering staff.

I've actually lost count to as how many times I've ate here lol.my husband took me here,on my first visit and since then we always go when we are near.food is very nice.if I would say anything more,it would be to ask the owner to think about the decor as its really old,and not nice to seat and eat in.would differently get more popular if the place looked more better.but still would recommend for food and price.

cordero al curry realmente grave, sabor y textura profundo, muy barato. Samosas bueno, gran Nan, no grasa. pollo frito menos impresionante pero probablemente intentando competir con van MacDonalds. Tikka kebabs de cordero y pollo excelentes -- y más barato que Lahore Kebab House.
