Awful food and terrible service , cold soggy food , wrong order and rude staff We didn’t get the food we ordered , food was cold and not fresh and no taste in it

To start this is my 1st time ordering and 100/% it be my LAST! I’ve never had food so so terrible and disgusted plus so so disappointed about it! I had to find a way to make this complaint, plus called up to ask to speak to the boss man or chef as the rude person on the phone said no good luck and hang up. Shanghai taste food is Ment to be cook by East Asian authentic chefs not by East Asian Indian Bangladesh person. All I’m gonna say is the person cooked the food looks like they was watching a YouTube video on how to make my food so don’t waste your money on this place! Go get your a mc ds or kfc trust me

DONT ORDER FROM HERE. Ordered on Uber eats, said 5 to 25 minutes. After 45 minutes I call the restaurant, the person on the phone completely useless; tells me to wait. 1 hour goes by and u call again they say will be arriving shortly. After 45 minutes (1hiur and 45 minutes) I cancel the order on Uber eats. At the same time the food arrives. I started eating and the driver knocks at my door asking me to speak on the phone with the owner and the owner threatened me to give the food back or he we’ll be coming to my door. I started eating already by this point, and I feel threatened and uncomfortable. I give the food back, opened and eaten from, hope they will not use it for next orders to speed up the process. Uber eats is very bad at selecting partners to work with and this place is absolutely unbelievable. Feeling harassed and threatened just for eating the food. Of course no compensation nor refund arrived. DONT ORDER FROM HERE.

Recientemente les ordené una entrega. Fue entregado a tiempo y por una persona muy amable, pero aquí es donde terminan los aspectos positivos. Esta fue absolutamente la peor comida que he comido hasta ahora. No soy una persona quisquillosa (en realidad disfruté un falafel por 3.5 que me dio un estomago y lo volvería a comer xD) pero no pude comerlo. El sabor del pollo era tan malo que ni siquiera la salsa roja podía matar su sabor. Sabía como si la carne estuviera muy vieja. Las galletas de gambas no estaban crujientes, parecía que el paquete se había dejado abierto durante mucho tiempo. La carne de los rollitos de cerdo era masticable. No se deje engañar por sus buenas críticas en sitios de entrega populares.

Debería haber aprendido la lección la última vez, esperé durante 1 hora y 30 minutos y sin comida cuando los llamé, fueron muy groseros y me hablaron dos veces, pedí una reducción por tan mal servicio, me ofrecieron 2 fuera de lo cual no estaba contento, al final, obtuve mi comida por 10 en lugar de 15 am, así que esperé durante 2 horas y 20 minutos, hoy decidí probarlos nuevamente, gran error, me tomó una hora la comida estaba muy salada, y los fideos estaban mezclados con curry en polvo, no recomendaría este chiste para llevar a nadie, es la peor comida china con la que me he encontrado, creo que hicieron esto para responderme quejándose de su terrible servicio y grosería.

Ordered a takeaway which arrived within 40 minutes, hurrah ! It was all downhill from there . Mixed Veg Soup ! Tasted like what I imagine would be the water in your sink after you've finished washing your dishes ! One spoon full and I had to throw it away. Pork with sweet and sour sauce Tasted like road kill with a diluted can of tomato soup with sugar sprinkled on it. Beef with black bean sauce ! Beef ?? Really ? Have a sneaking suspicion that the the sole of my shoe would taste better !. Just ripped up and binned their menu. Can only urge you to do the same.

The crispy sweet sour balls had more batter than chicken, Pad thai lacked the freshness noodles were stuck together,lack of chicken, King prawns had no salt and were hidden under a ton of onions soggy not nice no flavor, crispy shredded beef was passable out of 10 i would rate it 5 very average,Pak choi over killed with salt, n limp,Crispy aromatic duck was nice however the spring onions and cucumber was old and had turned a different color not fresh, the worst thing to order was the thai red curry it was awful I can get better ready meals from waitrose and taste like a thai curry it, this had nothing fresh about it the beef was tough chewy and everything lacked love n freshness. Sorry I will not be ordering from here again. The best thing was the prawn crackers and they have on the menu if you order over 30/40 pounds they give you free crackers n a beer i never received the beer.

Food is very average and tasteless but the customer service is dreadful. Why do you employ staff who clearly do not want to be there?? I understand it’s not the best job in the world but no need to be rude! Very disappointed

Keep clear of this place on delivery sites like just eat. Had a really bad experience trying to get our food from them and they’ve been completely dishonest.

Service here is the worst ever. I have asked some noodles to take away and there was only me in the shop. I went outside for the time waiting and a man entered and his food was served before mine. I complained and the girl at the desk said I was right because they forgot my order (there was only me before the man!!) and when I asked explanations she was so rude to me. She started yelling at me and became very impolite . Never again.

I just ate my lunch in there and it was not a good experience. Firstly the front of house woman looked highly inconvenienced by our arrival. I ordered without a hint of a smile and had to clear my own table of dishes. I added chilli oil to my lunch and the bottle burst open covering me and my lunch and she could not have cared less. Awful service - she realy couldn't give a toss about her customers. I'll never go back.

Ordered Green and Red Thai Curry with veggies, both were made WITHOUT coconut milk, just with water and flour. Called the restaurant to complain, they refused to admit they had made a mistake and disconnected me. Insane customer service, and RIP OFF. Avoid at all cost. Photo attached looks better than this vom of a meal looks in real life. PS. Driver was late 30 min on top of all that.

Ordered two pad thais and the fishcakes from here, both were very bad. No flavour to either of them and the vegetables in the pad thai were watery. I would not recommend this place.

This place has moved from Camberwell to Oval (Brixton Road) as a result of refurbishments being carried out at the Camberwell premises. Called in and ordered food for takeaway. We ordered the dim sum hors d'oeuvres (£11.95) which I thought were absolutely delicious and will definitely be ordering again. We also ordered the Chinese mixed platter (£12.95) which consisted of pork ribs in sweet Peking sauce (not much meat and too fatty), crispy seaweed (slightly bitter but pleasant as not as greasy as some from other places), crispy prawn spring rolls (delicious), and sesame prawn toast (just okay). It was also meant to come with prawn wonton but these were missing and replaced with two more prawn spring rolls. We also had the prawn pad thai (£6.45) which hubby said was okay, and the beef curry (£6.95) which was great tasting although quite watery, and I had asked for rice to come with it but this was not given to us so I had to cook my own at home. Overall it was really pretty good, and worth visiting at the moment while they have discounts as they have moved to this new location.

A shame I had such a bad experience here. My order initially said it would take 1 hour to arrive, which I felt was a long time but not completely unusual. When it still hadn’t arrived after that hour, I rang - to be told that they were only just beginning to make my order. I had spent £25 at this point, and I was not ordering at a peak time. When I questioned this and asked if it could be delivered as soon as possible, the person I spoke to on the phone became rude and aggressive. He hung up on me several times - I had to keep calling back to try and resolve the issue. Eventually, I decided it would be best to just cancel the order as I had had enough of the poor customer service and ever-lengthening delivery time I was being given. I asked to be refunded immediately, and the person on the phone then said, laughing “yes, yes tomorrow, maybe tomorrow.” I have every reason to believe he was not being sincere, given that I later discovered he was not due to be on duty the following day, and had not told any of his colleagues about the incident. On the phone, at the time, I then said that I would expect the refund in my account by tomorrow, and he replied “or what you going to do” and called me “little girl”. I found this to be intimidating and threatening, and I hung up. Am still in the process of trying to get my £25 refunded to me - three days later - and I’ve had to go through JustEat in order to do this, who’ve been fantastic in dealing with he issue so gar. The person I spoke to on the phone at Shanghai Taste has selected the order as “delivered” and has lied about the delivery of the order. A real shame as JustEat is usually a source of professional and more than satisfactory food vendors. His attitude was vile and I would strongly discourage people from ordering from here - if solely for the principle and importance of respectful customer service. I only wish I had an idea about the quality of the food.

DO not i repeat do not order from this restuarant. Rude staff, rude driver. Had to wait over 2 hours for food and refused to give a refund.

Finally a decent Chinese restaurant in Camberwell. My personal favourite is the Ho Fan noodles. The crispy duck is also great. Would like to see the beer menu expanded.
