The best restaurants serving American food in Edinburgh and Lothian

What an absolute gem. Excellent food. Lovely friendly staff. Great atmosphere decent price S well. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Bell's Diner opened in St. Stephen Street, Stockbridge, Edinburgh in 1974, the same year my wife and I moved into Stockbridge. They served the best burgers I've ever tasted. And no sweetish American-style buns and slobbery 'mayo'. The wine list starts at £21 a bottle. We now live 20 miles away but travelled in to have our final Bell's meal last week as the restaurant will soon be closing down. So, probably too late now for folks to get a table. Sad news indeed.

Great service from Inaki who was very attentive. Great location. Food was enjoyable but didn't really stand out against other steak houses in the area.

Pretty good taste and fair price. I’ve ordered the fried chicken and wings many times and never met any issue.

I was pleased that some types of meat did not bother me.

Das Restaurant ist aehr modern und schön eingerichtet, Das Essen ist ebenfalls sehr Lecker, die Pommes waren Super und das Filet sehr Zart. Leider lässt der Service ein wenig zu Wünschen übrig und man muss ziemlich lange Warten.

Very casual place for a burger and a pint. Burger was ok, nothing special. I got the classic. I was expecting more flavor from the patty but it was a bit dry. The fries were delcious and crunchy. Otherwise, still had a good meal. Staff was very friendly, welcoming, and kind of enough to provide hot sauce.

Had lovely salmon meal. Delicious.

Booked online but turn up and it’s closed? Well done. No email, no phone call nothing. Who’s running this place?

The Dean is a great place to go for food and beverages before or after a tour of the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange. We had their special house pasta and pizza. Both were very tasty and service was quick and friendly. This is a local place, so prices were very reasonable.

Great food, lovely staff and nice cocktails! Would recommend and will be back. EDIT I did come back last week with 2 friends from abroad and it was an exceptional experience, despite the place being busy The staff went above and beyond. Thank you for the great experience once again!
