Very friendly and efficient service. Food was lovely. Accommodated us last minute after another restaurant letting us down. Definitely worth it.

Only found this place in July have been almost every week since , the best pizza on the island of Ireland, other dishes are of top quality, staff warm , friendly & attentive, this place is a real find, I travel a lot and eat out all over the world, firebox is up there with the best, and sadly this comes to an end December 24 as it closes. I'm so ,so 😢

We were staying just down the road and came a couple of evenings for a drink. Tiny bar frequented by a handful of regulars, all of whom were exceptionally friendly and made us feel really welcome. Thank you Tom, Pat and Eddie for your hospitality and company. This was the highlight of our trip to Northern Ireland.

10/10 rating. Absolutely phenomenal experience. The food was beyond compare (filet on the stone with onion rings and chips), the bartender made a beautiful whisky sour, the wine recommend by Steve was exquisite. Service was efficient and delightful. We’re from Canada and recommend this to EVERYONE!

Really nice to walk into the restaurant and get a greeting from the chefs. Good start for my first time visiting Fontana. Next was meeting a member of staff who remembered me who is lovely and an asset to the place. Now for the food! Beautifully presented fish which was light and delicious followed by scummy apple crumble. Place is nicely laid out with a good atmosphere and very efficient staff. Prices are as you would expect for such good food, wine is fairly expensive and probably a sign of the times!

We had such a cozy experience, such a delicious dish, with the squeaky cheese. The whole vibe of the venue was chilled and you could see the owner/chef was dedicated. Small space with good energy from employees and customers. We will definitely be back in the next year to try something new 🫶🏽

First time here. Unfortunately was not wowed by the food - quite expensive, city prices. I had the ‘gambas pil pil’ but unfortunately the fresh bread accompaniment was soggy. Garlic fries were nice. My friend had the paella which was full of broken shell pieces - however the restaurant did change this for us on request. Other friend had the chilli prawn pasta and found it tasty. Table across from us seemed to enjoy their meal so perhaps we did not choose their best options on the menu? Waitress was good craic and friendly, until we asked to change the paella - after that was rather stony. Restaurant was overall clean and tidy although bathroom could do with a deep clean - a little buildup around the taps and the baby changing mat was soiled. Convenient to get to as just round the corner from Donard car park, nice views out to sea from the tables at the window.

The worst cheese burger I have ever been served and my daughter had the steak sandwich once again terrible.i have worked in kitchens my whole life. Word of advice to the chefs you should be embarrassed sending out food like that no passion no flair and no talent. And for the service very sad I can just imagine what type of management must be in charge. Must have been out for smoke a wee cuppa. How can the owners take money from customers must be greed my advice close the doors and sell shoes

Recently reopened as the Spice Inn, this is a lovely restaurant with fresh, authentic Indian cuisine. Really enjoyed the food, I had the honey chicken special and peshwari nan . A welcome new addition to the dining choices in Portaferry
