Del Toro in Lisburn

Out for the day with my son and tried our luck without a booking and they were able to facilitate us even being busy, right from we walked through the door the waiting staff were fantastic, seated within minutes and drinks order taken, went for the mixed grill and my son had the southern fried chicken, from the first bite it was moreish, we both commented on how tasty it was, even though we were both stuffed we couldn't resist ordering dessert again they were fantastic, was pleasantly surprised when I was paying the bill, had been a couple of years from I had been in and it reminded me of how great it is so will most definitely be a regular again

Honestly can’t recommend Del toro enough! Those ribs 🤯no words. Fall apart, juicy, saucy and big. Onion rings crispy and thick (not the batter the filling) so very good. Chips could fool you to thinking they are all triple cooked. I did however have to call the restaurant up. To let them know how great the chef and staff were. 10+ stars. If you love a good grill give Del toro a go and have a great grill. 🤟🏾

I paid over £60 for the magnificent platter, steak was overcooked and the rest of my food was freezing not to mention there was about 8 chips in the thing. For over £30 each I expected much better quality in my opinion its a complete rip off not even a drink included for the standard of the food. won't be back!

While the staff were friendly and pleasant, the menu is very basic and limited for a steak house and the portion size and quality very poor for what are high prices for a ‘chain’ style restaurant. Also, no herbal teas at all available. Burger was small and incredibly basic. Friendly staff who do their best but overpriced food.

Monday evening, Place was empty and it felt like I was eating the Sunday evening left overs. Ordered the Platter to share, Garlic bread was hard, chips were hard like they had been recooked and portion would not be enough for two people, onion rings were skimpy, Salt chilli Chicken wings were again dry and hard as if recooked, definitely not fresh. Ribs were not warm but were tasty, Steak was the only thing on the platter that appeared to be fresh and cooked ok. I have eaten here a few times over the years even when it was in Antrim street Lisburn, this is the only time I have been disappointed. Felt like I was eating Sundays left overs minus the steak. Definitely wouldn't rush back.

All I can say is…unreal. Got a rare night out without the kids for my partners birthday. I had booked for the Saturday night and in conversation told the member of staff that it was my partners birthday. When we arrived, the server brought us to our table and had a lovely banner on it, so thoughtful and nice touch! 🥰 Once seated we ordered drinks, Prosecco for myself and draught carlsberg for my partner. Both ice cold. Just what we needed 😍. Starters of mussels were to die for. We both had them each. I ordered a fish dish which was on the specials menu and changed my order slightly, champ instead of baby boils, again staff were so accommodating. My partner ordered the ribeye. Fish was so fresh and the taste of that alone!! Wow!! My partner thoroughly enjoyed his steak, was cooked to perfection for him. He’s so fussy. I never really review any restaurants but honestly I felt I had to. We will definitely be back 💯 Food and staff were 10/10

Such a lovely atmosphere here. Food is so so nice and staff are super friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a good time. The steaks are amazing here and the other food looked gorgeous my family really enjoyed theirs!

Dined at Del Toro last Saturday night with my husband. We ordered the Magnificent Seven which was unbelievable value. So tasty and the steaks were cooked to perfection. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants.

Wouldn’t even give it a 1!! Was absolutely rotten… given the wrong menus… staff forgot kids meal… staff forgot drinks… we had to go to bar to ask for knives and forks as there were none put on our table to begin with!!! Food was so over priced, to be as bad as it was!!!!! Staff were shouting at each other aswell!! 2 cokes and a Fanta was £15

Staff are extremely friendly, food is always fresh and tastes great. Have been multiple times and will be back again soon! Also has nice private booths great for dates etc.

Wonderful restaurant in Lisburn. My wife’s mother recently passed and we needed somewhere for after the funeral, even now Del Torro was closed on a Monday and it was really last minute notice, the owners opened up their restaurant to us and our family and friends and put on an amazing platter of food. Nowhere else would you get such special treatment. My son also says they have the best chicken burgers in THE WORLD!!!

Our family didn’t enjoy del toro food. It was burnt, hard and tasteless. Plus we had to wait for about 30 min to be served. Service is lovely and helpful.

I'm utterly disappointed with my recent experience at this place. Firstly, their displayed opening times are completely inaccurate, leading to wasted time and frustration. As if that weren't bad enough, when I attempted to enter during their supposed operating hours, a staff member rudely pulled the door closed in my face, completely ignoring my presence. It's appalling that such ignorance and disregard for customers exist in any establishment. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all costs.

Do not eat at little del toro in hillsborough food was awful and the service worse. The owner was there and did not even notice we waited almost 30 minutes for food that was basically inedible. Horrible place.

Not very customer friendly the girl at the counter when we were trying to pay wasn't very helpful in fact pure ignorant and unhelpful won't be back food was nice but she was pathetic

Took approximately 45mins for our starters to arrive. After that, it was roughly an hour before we got our mains. The kids got half a pizza and they were burnt and rubbery. Me and my husband got burgers which were also burnt. Not worth the ridiculously long wait. Thank goodness we had a voucher. We won't be back, and we definitely don't recommend it.

I thought the menu was super limited and not great quality. The chips are like chippy chips and the burger was decent tbf. Just more variety would be nice

Really impressed with the restaurant but let down by just eat. I got a call from the restaurant 40 mins ago to say the food was waiting on the delivery driver! Just eat did not notify me, the driver made no attempt to explain why the food was so late. Dinners cold and no wants to eat it. To be clear this doesn’t not seem to be an issue with del toro but instead just eat!

Extremely disappointing experience. We had booked a table. Drinks came after 20 min and order was wrong. After 45 min still no starter so I went down to ask if we could just go straight to main course. No apology given but was told they would tell kitchen. Arrived up with (cold and stale) starter a few min later and argued with us that it hadn’t been 45 minutes. My husband went to speak to them again after the appalling way we were spoken to at our table, still no apology, he cancelled our order and we had to pay £40 for starters and drinks that were wrong. No apology, no explanation, no customer service. We left extremely disappointed and quite frankly annoyed. Worst experience in a long long long time all round.

Great meal with family, friendly staff were bit expensive but reasonable value. Atmosphere a bit cold.

I booked the table for me and my fiance to celebrate our engagement, and I place the note during reservation. We were just sit on random table beside reception, to be honest I expect some nicer table, the most that was many empty. Food was very disappointing - well done steak was burnt, and pork belly was very hard. Staff were nice, even when trying to explain that well done steak will be hard and burnt. We've got discount voucher as after 40min we decide to leave place and nearly full plates, but we will never use it, to be honest we don't know why we even take it.

A group of 12 had a Christmas feed here. Service was great and the food was so good. We all got the sharing platter which was sensational. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The ribs and chicken wings are fantastic. Great value for the amount of food you get. All washed down with beers and cocktails. You have to try the platter!!!

Without a doubt the worst experience we have ever had. Pre booked a table for 5 for dinner on Saturday evening and when we arrived they didn't seem that busy. We were shown to our table relatively quick. We then had to sit there for around 20 minutes until someone came to take our food order. I was a bit surprised that there was only 2 steaks on the menu unless you gave 24hr notice.We then had to ask could we order a drink. It wasn't a difficult order 1 beer and 4 Fanta. We waited a further 15 for the drinks to come which were wrong also the glasses were disgusting with lipstick and previous drink residue on them.we eventually got all that sorted and the food came. I had ordered a mixed grill which was £28 I asked for my steak to be cooked medium. The plates were literally just in front of us 2 minutes when a waitress came and asked was everything OK. As I began to work my way through the food I eventually got to the 8oz steak which was very well done and extremely hard to chew so it was left. When everyone had finished they came to clear the plates and I told the waitress that I had asked for medium and not well done and to my surprise she immediately got on the defensive asking did someone come and see if everything was OK I told her yes but it was just after the food was brought. 2 minutes later the owner of the place came out of the kitchen with my steak on a small plate and proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that that's the way a medium steak should look but there was not even a slight tinge of pink. He then started to tell me that I didn't know how steak was cooked. I then mentioned the glasses and he said didn't they get replaced so what's the problem. At this point t my kids were getting pretty upset so I just asked for the bill so we could leave. To be honest it was very intimidating to have a well over 6ft man stand over you arguing over a piece of steak. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

Disappointed at the price, ordered two steaks albeit they were £30 each didn't mind as I heard great reports BUT came with no sides so had to pay extra for chips onion rings and pepper sauce, bill came at £104 for two people, rang the following day after reviewing receipt and was told that's just the way it is, when I advised I wouldn't recommend I was told grand that's your own perogative , so needless to say with that attitude I won't be back and won't be recommending 😀

Was given a voucher for Del Toro so we went on Sunday afternoon & I can't wait to go back! The ribs for starter were literally fall off the bone tender, steaks were perfectly cooked (med) & all the veg, potatoes (oh my, the champ!) & sauces etc were so tasty & again perfectly cooked. My husband & son both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert & I had to beg for a spoonful as they didn't want to part with any! 10/10 for food & service.. well done Del Toro! 👏

Drove from limavady to bring my teens to the leisure plex. We came in for dinner afterwards. Absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend! Fast, friendly service. Very helpful and fond considerate of allergies. The fish tacos o the healthy eating menu is absolutely delicious 😋. Kids had burgers and fajitas and loved everything. Oh and the music is fantastic! Can't remember ever being in a restaurant bopping to Dylan, GnR, tom petty and Bowie.❤️❤️❤️

*I’m ALWAYS on the hunt for a good steak *Friendly and knowledgeable staff *I ordered the 8oz rump fillet/medium and tried the Parmesan/Truffle sauce and added in a side of ribs and champ *I had a DECENT pour of the house red (merlot) *BEST steak I’ve had since moving here 2 years ago from Iowa, USA: -perfect char -perfect temperature -great tobacco onions -the truffle in the sauce was NOT overpowering and went well with the steak and the champ -the ribs were good, but didn’t hold a candle to the steak -the charred veggies were tasty, with a bite to them, which I prefer *Finished off with a sticky toffee pudding that was also tasty *Had a nice chat with an employee Lindsay (sp) outside as we were leaving, discussing our mutual love for ranch dressing. I’ll have to remember to drop off some Hidden Valley Ranch packets to her when I come back from the US in September. :) Overall best dining experience in 2.5 years.

I went in to this restaurant last Sunday and I was full of expectations and turn-out to be a disappointment experience. I askef for chicken wings they didn't have it and I ask for prawns they didn't have and I just settle for pizza but, the customer service was absolutely amazing will I go back again? I don't no, will I recommend it to someone I,m not sure.

Very poor quality chicken and ham pie on pensioners menu. No vegetables except chips, few pieces of chicken and no ham found in a peculiar tasting creamy sauce and horrible gravy poured over the pie. Will not be returning to this restaurant.

Overall was disappointed in the family (table of 5) visit to del Toro on 6th May 2023. We had barely got sat down when were asked for our drinks order, while I can understand their may be a standard of a drinks order within a minute, this should be adjusted to maybe 5 minutes, to give people time to sit and actually look at the drinks menu. When we did make a hasty drinks order, we then waited a good 15 minutes until our drinks arrived. While doing so, I noticed other tables drinks being ordered, and delivered in that time frame. 3 coca colas, a koppenberg and a cocktail shouldn't take 15 minutes. And I was disappointed to see the cola was not chilled (I request no ice, due to the bacteria that can grow in ice machines and the generic infrequent cleaning of an ice machine - not aimed at this restaurant, just in general). We ordered the food while waiting for the drinks, service was good from the young lady, and wait times for starters, starter being cleaned away and mains being delivered was appropriate for the business of the restaurant. However, we had ordered a rare 8oz serloin, it came out medium. There was no check back from the server, and despite trying to get any members of staffs attention, we couldn't seem to get anyone's attention. Luckily we had ordered drinks and the server who brought them did an amazing job of rectifying this situation. But if it hadn't have been for him, how long would we have waited for a check back. Other than the steak cooked wrong, the food was fantastic. After mains were finished, the smokers went outside, leaving the couple at the table to ask for a desert menu and some tap water. When the smokers returned, we proceeded to wait a further 25 minutes before anyone came to the table to clear plates and glasses away (which had been moved to one end of the table, stacked neatly, as a sign that we were done). When the server did come over, I smelled a very strong smell of cigarette smoke coming off him, signifying to me, he had just been for a cigarette break. While leaving a table uncleared/unchecked with the customers sat there, that's a serious no. We refused desert, because at that point we had become irritated. Upon paying, and telling the server how long we waited to be offered desert, we were told and I quote "oh sorry, there isn't alot of staff on now". But the staff member could still go for a cigarette break? As an ex restaurant manager, that is an unacceptable excuse. I would have been horrified to hear this had happened in any of the restaurants I managed. Customer finishes main, a server or manager comes and clears up and offeres more drinks, desert, tea & coffee or the bill. Not let them sit there for near enough half an hour with not even as much as glance. We chose del Toro as the previous year we had gone and it had been amazing. Amazing service, amazing food, great atmosphere, and we left last night feeling deflated and disappointed that standards in service had slipped so much. Apart from a simple mistake with the not rare steak, credits to chefs, food was still as good as the previous year. Because the food was still as good, is the reason it wasn't 2 stars

Took a chance on asking for a table for two on a Saturday night with no reservation, but was asked if we could go on a waiting list for 45 mins, which wasn’t a problem. Definitely worth the wait! We had a bunch of starters to share (rather than mains) and the food was brilliant. Highly recommend the Mac and Cheese Balls 👌

The food was very poor, and have a terrible smells. We can't eat its. But just bin its. The meat are very bad with bad smell. So irritating smells.

Was seated upstairs, no staff at all to serve us. Starter came after 20 minutes. Soup was sour. For main course, ordered a 12oz steak for 28quid, it was more like 8, asked for a medium well, it came tasting burnt and absolutely tremendously over cooked in the inside. Complained to the staff, gave me a classic excuse of the steak will cook itself. Lesson learnt, you might have to order medium rare in order to get a medium well steak. He gave me 2 coupons to make up for the night but I will not step foot again. Heniken Beer was great tho.

The worst restaurant I ever been. Firstly, I booked for seat already and she said she can’t find my booking even though I have my email to prove .But we get into seat and wait for the service, she put us upstairs and no waitress actually staying upstairs , we wait for 20mins for the starter .the tomato soup wasn’t too good but it’s still fine , so the steak come after.We asked for a medium well, the steak which came is half burnt with nothing red when u slice it , we complained about it and the staff said medium well is like this . Totally disappointed experience I ever had for £28.00 for a steak

We booked here for a steak dinner for valentine's Day. Upon entering we were greeted by staff in such a welcoming manner we didn't know what to do with ourselves. They insisted on a picture at their Valentine's Day wall (even though we are super awkward we loved that memento). The staff were so attentive and the meals were delicious - large portions and we weren't left waiting long. We had the nachos for starters - 1 serving between 2 is enough as it's so big. We both had the rump of fillet steak cooked to different degrees and it was delicious. Staff were lovely throughout and really should be recommended for bringing such a friendly vibe to the restaurant. Also their DT cocktail is divine but be careful as you can't even taste the alcohol 😂

We had my dad's 60th and sister in laws birthday dinner on Saturday evening. All the staff were absolutely fantastic. Couldn't do enough for us. Not to mention all the food was delicious and served altogether (despite the very large table) in a timely manner. Cocktails were amazing too, i personally recommended the passionfruit martini 😊
