It's been completely refurbished with new slides etc. It really is a fantastic looking kids park. My 2 year old loves it, plenty of things to do.

Visited for lunch on Xmas Eve with Family, The restaurant has recently had a refurb and under a new name called Bettys. We waited an hour for the starters and then a further hour for the main course - 8 of us ordered burgers - this does not take 2 hours! The chips were cold and burgers not great bearing in mind the waiting time. The management advised that a large order had come in prior to ours, however, the place was fairly empty and this was a poor excuse. Disappointing and will not be returning for food.

I went with a party of 5 to Johnny The Jig for a late Sunday Dinner. We had not booked a table so were very pleased when we managed to get a free table. The decor of this restaurant is very interesting and fun to view. We ordered our different meals and I have to say it was very tasty and plentiful - a couple of us had chicken and the rest had the roast beef - every plate was empty by the end of the meal. The waitress was really friendly and informative - she was extremely pleasant to my 95 yr old Mother who only wanted ice cream - a huge bowl was set in front of her with two difference sauces in separate bowls. She loved it. I noticed a lot of meal deals available on different nights of the week - I will be back to try them out.

Awful experience from start to finish. Beer glass dirty, waitress forgot to give us kids menus at start with our two children sitting down with us. Had to ask waitress to place our order, long wait for food - asked waiting staff twice if it was ready. Sunday roast beef - presentation horrendous - I would have presented it better myself at home - gravy all over the dish , 2 small fatty slices of beef. My wife's battered fish was mostly batter!! Waiting staff were very pleasant but unable to redeem a bad experience. On departure my 8 yr old daughter requested that we do not return here and I was in full agreement. Moral of the story - if something is free (kids eat free on a sunday) - it often comes at a cost !!

We have been here on a number of occasions for Sunday lunch. The Sunday roast menu is such good value and kids eat free on Sundays too! The roast beef is usually served pink which results in it being very tender and delicious. This visit we were informed it was "a bit more cooked" it's was cooked right through and was a little bit hard to cut through in places. The starters were as good as ever as was the kids food. All in all good lunch just a little bit let down by over cooked beef. We will return as it has always been amazing so fingers crossed just a one off!

No me siento engañado? Sí lo hice. Volvería alguna vez de nuevo a Johnny el calibre? No me volvería. Hay un montón de otros establecimientos en la ciudad que pueden probar!

I found the restaurant generally grubby. The decor is rustic which may hide a lot, but I found salt cellar which was brought to table dirty with dried on food. Floor dirty, cellophane wrapper under table, toilets unpleasant and handrail at stairs decidedly tacky to touch.Chicken gougons uneatable, sweet potato fries burnt, risotto not pleasant. On entering we were met with a very fresh fishy smell. I opted for fish of the day which was hake. Really good and tasty. The girls also enjoyed their choices, make your own toastie and the chicken and bacon tagliatelle, left very satisfied. Only downside was a not so clean toilet, but easily remedied and all in all good fresh food and value for money.

Staff very helpful and welcoming, we said we did want food but fancied a drink first so they let us peruse the menu while we had drinks at the bar . They also allowed us to choose our own table - might not be an option if it's busy. When our food arrived, wasn't disappointed. The Mussels starter was delicious and I had the roast beef Sunday dinner. The beef was was melt in the mouth. I've only tasted a better roast better than this and that is my mum's, and she used to be a chef. I only didn't clear my plate because the portion was a bit large for me. The Pub/Restaurant looked well maintained and nicely decorated from the outside, we stopped here on Sunday for lunch, we liked the Sunday menu because it was relatively simple, choice of 3 starters, 4 main courses and 3 desserts, 2 courses for £14 or 3 for £16. We had the moules marinieres and chilly crisp and salty squid, both were excellent, you could tell that the squid was freshly prepared, not the frozen dip fried that you usually get in most places. As mains, we had the fish of the day which was 10/10, 5 generous pieces of monkfish with sautee potatoes and basil sauce, I took the sunday roastbeef roast which was also excellent and very tender! After suffering total and utter abandonment from my “friends” the night was to take an unforeseen turn as an essence in the form of Rumblestilskin lead this hero down a dark and perilous path into the pub known as Jonny the Jig. Although I blamed others for where I ended up it was my burden alone. The atmosphere was comical  and even accusations of forcing drugs upon young children was chuckled at due to the jolly mood and pleasant company. Intimidated by the queue at the bar I was aided by a friendly passer-by who forcefully  insisted the barman serve me immediately. However I was then questioned what mixer I desired with my Jameson, as they only had “weird” Ginger Ale.  Well let me tell you this lead to major increased levels of concern, do I stick with the safe option or just risk everything and turn my life flip upside down for this exciting, dangerous and somewhat crazy option? That night I was going to dance with the devil in the pale moonlight and opted for this new fascinating brand. It tasted heavenly, a rare breed indeed. I buried my face inside the glass until I was half drown. I consumed it the only way I know how to, like an animal. I sat down it was all too much, I had yearned for it for so long. There staring directly at me was two of juiciest biggest burgers I have ever laid eyes upon, they were perfection. Like Kryptonite to Superman they were my one true weakness. The intense arousal was almost unbearable and I believed they had my name all over them but I was sorely mistaken they weren’t for me at all. These outrageous burgers were only cruelly teasing me, I had misjudged the situation badly. This taunting and rejection caused utter insanity and resulted in regrettable angry behaviour towards staff. A build-up of starvation and empty promises unfulfilled were to blame. Still trying to wrap my head around this whole saga which has caused complete loss of confidence and will negatively effect future interactions.  All those moments will be lost, in time, like tears in the rain. Overall I enjoyed my visit to  Jonny the Jig but perhaps I’ll order less stimulating burgers and ginger ale next time.

We have been to Johnny the jig a few times before. As the title of my review says there is great food to be had. I haven't been disappointed with the standard taste or presentation of the food. That being said ....If you are planning to go somewhere I mean anywhere after your meal here do not bet on being there. You will not make your next appointment event or party on time if you eat here before it.We visited as a couple on our first occasion. It was midweek and we were one of around three couples sitting there to eat. We waited for 45 minutes for our main course. We ordered dessert it too took a long time half an hour to be exact to arrive. We had ordered tea and coffee but had to cancel this as we had plans and would not make them if we finished our meal.We arrived at the restaurant around 6pm and left at around 8.30 pm. This would not normally have been an issue but we ordered a burger therefore did not anticipate it taking so long to be served. We returned on Saturday evening thinking that the food was nice and maybe Thursday evening was a blip. We were a party of four. Again we ordered simple food as it is quality food here. However it took an hour for our food to arrive... Again. We had plans after the meal but had to cancel these. We were asked how everything was when paying the bill but it was not taken seriously when we asked why it took so long to be served dinner. We even joked with the waiter that we had never been to a restaurant that seemed to not serve food since everyone around us didn't seem to be eating either.Unfortunately I don't see us returning to Johnny the jig food is lovely but don't count on going anywhere or doing anything after dinner. We didn't order dessert or teas because let's face it we could still have been waiting on them for who knows how long.Very disappointed.

I was very impressed with the menu, there was something for everyone. I ordered the chicken roast dinner which was very tasty. The only fault I could find was the chicken was very dry. We ordered a bottle of wine with our dinner, and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that between 4pm an 6pm all bottles of wine are half price. Nice end to the afternoon. Will definitely be back to sample more of the menu.

Was meeting a few friends and decided to pop in for a pint. Excellent selection and great atmosphere. Even though the bar was really busy I was still made to feel like I was valued and served quickly. Will definitely be back to try out their food but if it was a good as lady night then I will definitely make this one of my favourite places!

Went to try out this restaurant with a couple of friends. Decor and menu were lovely and we had difficulty deciding what to go for. A friend had a vege burger and chips which she said were grand. I decided on vege option of the burrito and chips. The waitress was able to swap the chips for sweet potato chips, which were delicious. The burrito however was about 4/5 rice and the rest was filled with tinned sweetcorn, and few beans and some strips of soggy red pepper. It was disappointing and I didn't eat much of it. At the end of the meal the waitress asked how it was so I said there was a lack of vege filling. She said she'd let the kitchen know but never came back to feedback to me. When we were paying our bill I spoke to the manager to let her know, thinking she would want to be aware of this for future reference. My friends and I were quite shocked with her accusatory attitude that I should have told them before the end of the meal. She was bordering on the aggressive and I will not be back to this restaurant, nor recommending it to anyone I know.

Visited here last night with friends , band was superb! Came back today with my family for Sunday dinner. Sign outside read - half price wine 4-6pm. We sat down to order and I asked our waitress is that on all the wine and she said -I will ask. She came back and said yes. I ordered a glass of Merlot. When our bill arrived after our lovely meal , the wine was full price so I asked why this hadn't been taken off ? Another member of staff stepped in and said its only on bottles. I told her that's not what I was told and she Replied - YOU should have asked ! This isn't the point - the tone and manner I was spoken to was rude and bad customer service due to this ruined our amazing meal .What a horrible end ! My post on Facebook was even deleted with 30 minutes of me posting my comments

We stopped in for dinner while staying nearby. The food was fantastic, and the people were very friendly. Our waiter was really good, but I think their kitchen may have been a bit backed up. If it hadn't been late in the day and having young boys with us (who were starving), it might not have bothered us. I would go back, but not when our kids were starving.

We went here for a family birthday meal on a Sunday afternoon early evening. There was 6 adults and 2 toddlers. The experience started well and the staff were very friendly and helpful in accommodating us and getting high-chairs in the right places. We started with some sharing starters. The nacho's were amazing, very fresh ingredients with what seemed like home-made guacamole and salsa. Then we ordered a full range of meals from roast dinners, seafood and burgers. Everyone was very impressed. What impressed me about the food was the ingredients, nothing was cheap. The burgers were served in good quality buns, the fish was a good fillet and the roast dinners we well cooked and tasty. The service was very good too. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. He also took the time to entertain on of the toddlers, who loved to dance. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Johnny the Jig and will return when I get the chance

Visited the restaurant last night with a mixed party of 30 comprising adults and young teenagers ( in celebration of a youth team's sporting success). The staff could not have been more helpful in terms of planning, seating arrangements and food. Both adults and kids had an excellent time - and it was great to experience great personal service as well as great food ( not forgetting the excellent range of beers on offer!)

From the outside this place looks like a restaurant, so I walked past. It was only later when I got talking to a local lady, that I realised that's is also a bar, so I went back. On entering, my first thought was TGI's, but with less emphasis on the booze. After speaking to another local, I found out how it got it's unusual name. It's named after a piece of sculpture that a local, Rosamund Praeger, made and is now situated to a play area in town. They have only four beers on draught, but I'd say it's mostly vino here. Upstairs is the restaurant, and the clientele are trendy and laid back. The publican is local also, and has another fine bar in town, called Wolsey.

Hollywood is becoming a bit of a spoilt for choice town for places to eat so Johnny the Jig got my friends choice the other night as we headed out for a bite to eat with his two kids. Kids had fish fingers and chips...proper fresh battered fish rather than pre made. My friend and I had the sharing platter to start and then This curry and a chilli burger...plenty of food, very tasty, well made and glad to report authentic tasting home made food. Will definitely be back or will drop in on way to Bangor.

A Friday evening at 7-8pm and the restaurant upstairs was nearly empty ... why?A varied menu with steak, fish, duck, to suit most tastes. A good platter mix starter went down well with my family party from 6-17yrs; maybe a bit more imagination for the kids menu though. Finished with large desserts which ended meal well .. sticky toffee pud was great.Well priced and the young staff both friendly and attentive. Atmosphere a bit lacking upstairs which is too dark in many areas. Distressed painted wooden board walls and a variety of table, chair types gives a quirky style. Some lighting onto individual tables would go a long way to making this a great spot.

So this wee pub has a really good selection of world beer at a reasonable price. For lunch we had a club sandwich and fish tacos, which were very good and not your average fayer in Holywood (although a little lacking in portion size but that's relatively standard these days). Chilled (rather quiet) atmosphere during the day and early evening. Most nights there's some form of live music on which livens up the place. A great addition to the bustling cafe culture in Holywood, a bit of funk for a younger crowd.

Had lunch with friends here and was surprised to get a table at 1pm on Friday before Christmas!1st time here since its had its 'make-under' and was suitably impressed! Nice atmosphere and seated quickly. Many of the menu options state 'veggie option available' although doesn't go into detail exactly what you're getting! I ordered the veggie version of the burrito and wasn't 100% sure of the contents, there was a bit of cheese here and some rice there, with the remaining being a mushy mess (I believe it to be pinto bean paste!) wasn't overly keen with it, but the other girls seemed to enjoy theirs. I would like to go back however and choose one of their other 'veggie option' meals before giving a final verdict!

A very nice bar/restaurant in Holywood. Only managed 2 courses because we were in a rush which was annoying as some of the desserts sounded delicious! It was reasonably priced too, which was a bonus! The service was attentive also, which can make all the difference as so often smiles are forced... Not here though. Managed to enjoy a really nice Guinness... Can't wait to go back.

I have eaten all around Belfast and Holywood for many years but I have never come across such a new and innovative spot. Wednesday lunchtime I spotted this new joint that use to be Wine & Co. When entering, I enjoyed the art work set around the building and the service was excellent by the young gentleman who seated me and took no time in recommending dishes to me and offering me a drink. The Jig Burger as it was named was extremley tasty, I didn't even find myself quenching for thirst. I followed this up with the Eton Mess, which not only looked fantastic, it's taste was delicious although my thoughts would be a sharing dish for two, as I could only make it half way. Will be back to try the Lobster after the staff convinced me it is exceptional as is all their food.

My girlfriends and i went here for lunch during work for a payday treat and absolutely loved it! At first glance the menu seemed a bit fancy but it's just really creative. A lot of thought has clearly gone in to what flavours work together and the result is fantastic. I went for a burger and it was the nicest I've ever eaten! My friends loved their meals too. The decor was really creative too- old school doors as partitions and old school chairs mixed with random old paintings (that also had some very creative touch ups added!) The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back - to try everything else on the menu!

Table booked as a birthday treat with two friends and found the menu very poor. Fish was off the menu and most other choices were meat on the bone so I opted for a burger which I requested as very well done. This arrived on a very small wooden board so had to ask for a plate. On cutting into the burger I found it was pink. I returned the food which was later returned after it had been microwaved, chips and all. I was very disappointed with the whole experience as were my friends with their chicken dishes.
