Service charge? Is this a thing? We travel all over the country and have never been charged a service charge apart from here, the host was kind enough to tell us £10 Off each meal but not about the service charge to be added. Meat was nice salad plentiful but hubby missed sauces.

The most depressing Beefeater I have ever been in. Supposed to be a Christmas celebration but even the turkey (and lots of other things) was not available. As for the coffee after, we did not drink it after a second attempt. A see through latte is not what you expect or want. Poor on almost every level. Only about 10 cars in the car park two weeks before Christmas shows that people have gone elsewhere

Staying in the premier inn next door, popped in for a bite to eat. Food was a little pricy but was very tasty so can’t complain too much. I was served by Max. Probably the best service I’ve had all year. A hidden gem in this little restaurant here. Ask for him he’s fantastic and someone give that man a raise. Cheers Max.

This is the first time we have tried this cafe. We both choose cooked breakfast costing just over £5, great value for money. No fried egg available, but a lovely omelette instead, lovely toast and sausage. Only complaint was the bacon, over cooked and partially inedible. But would definitely order again. Very clean and friendly staff. Good selection of cakes on offer at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I were meeting some friends for lunch, we opted for Whiteley because it was halfway driving time for us. I have been to a couple of Frankie & Bennys before, one in Gunwharf and one in Newquay and picked here because they generally do good food. It also was a change from the usual chains. I booked a table in advance online for the 4 of us, we were all looking forward to it. It wasn't very busy and there was plenty of staff however service was very slow and frankly they didn't seem bothered by our custom. My boyfriend and friend ordered the combo for the starter, barely anything on the plate to show it was a starter, let alone a combo and it was an expensive combo. Twice we asked for the blue cheese dip to come with the starter and we had to ask again when the starters came. Our server disappeared on a break and then left to go home but didn't hand over to any of the other staff so it was really tricky to get anyone's attention, even at paying time. Food disappointedly was average, had to ask for Parmesan even though all four of us having pasta dishes, my Spaghetti Bolognaise lacked real depth, the lasagne looked appealing but an odd taste. We were going to have pudding, I was looking forward to it but no staff paying notice,no one asked if we wanted pudding and we waited so long, we just didn't bother with pudding and i had to go up and tell them we wanted to pay up because again no one came over. We wandered round the shops afterwards, such a shame about lunch, shame I didn't read the other reviews before booking and maybe the usual places are best sticking too.
