The best restaurants serving American food in St. Peter's and North Laine Brighton and Hove South East

Enjoyed the atmosphere and the setup of this establishment. Great menu and food looked good however it was just very bready, even the Seitan and Falafels were bready/ stuffing like and in a bun it just made it heavy and filling, only gripe really. Bean Curd Scratchings were amazing, so good!

We went in to pick up some food as part of the good to go app, staff were friendly and had an amazing choice of donuts which tasted excellent.

Best Cheeseburger (cheezus) in a while

Walked past, looked inviting, friendly rapid service of best scrambled eggs ( with chilli & cheese) I have ever had. Thank you

This was our fourth visit for lunch here. Our first visit was a great success and the food excellent however things have gone downhill. On our latest visit the not so attentive staff (but still very pleasant) informed us that the “group’s” executive chef worked there for the first month and now just pops in. This probably explains why the food is not good at all now. Such a shame as it started so well. Great for a drink at a pleasant spot but food not to be recommended at all.

We had another amazing meal at Meat Liqour Brighton and whilst it’s been consistently great for many years, our latest visit on Fri 16th Aug was the best yet. The burger smashing has been honed to perfection; well seasoned super thin patties, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Fries great as always and the dead hippie sauce was the perfect accompaniment. A special mention to our host Dylan, he ensured a great burger was accompanied by a great experience and made the visit memorable for all the right reasons. Can’t wait to visit again soon! Thanks again Dylan and all the team at Meat Liqour. You smashed it!

Firstly I will point out that I have been in here a few times over the years for drinks and previously very much enjoyed it. But last night I paid a visit and it was an absolute joke. The whole visit was just full of disasters. I arrived early for our booking (15 minutes), which I booked well in advance (maybe a month or longer ago) for two people. I was told that they were so busy and therefore we would have to sit on the Terrace. On a cold evening in October. As if we were going to do that. So therefore we squeezed onto a tiny table by the pool table, not really suitable for two people to eat at, but what choice did we have. The pub was busy and there seemed to be a pumpkin carving event on which was an charge extra. As we hadn't booked this 'extra' I can only imagine they gave our table away to someone who was eating and carving, and therefore paying more, and our booking ignored out of greed. I politely questioned if our table had been given away and the guy was addemant it hadn't. Even though we booked so so so long ago, yet there was no suitable table for us. Kind of pointless booking. Once my friend arrived I went down to the bar to order the food. I did the food order in two separate transactions. The first transaction went through, and she gave me a pager for when the food was ready (1x wings). I then paid for the second lot of food (1 x wings and potato tots) and was given a second pager, and the bar girl walked away. I then looked down at the 2nd pager she had given me and noticed it was falling apart and wasn't lit up at all. So I caught the bar lady's attention and asked her to confirm it was working. She looked at it said it was broken (then why did she give it to me!). And then said she would put both the orders on the first pager, and took the broken one off me. Later on when the pager went off I went to collect the food. They tried to give me a tray with a burger and 2 x loaded curly fries. I said that isn't mine and told them what I ordered. They said that for the first lot of wings ordered that there was an order ready the same that no one had collected and therfore they must be ours. And they said that the second lot of wings and tatter tots would be a 2 minute wait. There was no point in me going back upstairs to the pool room as by the time I got there it would be time to come back, being sat so far away, so I stood and waited for the rest of the food. Once I had the food I then returned to my friend and our seats upstairs. I was then followed by the same bar lady that gave me the broken pager, and messed up the order (lady in red dungarees and hair in plaits for halloween). She appeared with the tray i was originally offered with the burger and 2 x curly fries on it. She said these are yours too. We politely said no they aren't. She responded with 'you ordered in two transactions and you also ordered this'. Again I said I didn't not. I told her how much we had paid in the 2 x transactions which added up to the food that I had collected (2 x wings and tatter tots). But at this point it turned really weird. The bar lady got angry and raised her voice and basically shouted at me saying that we did order them, and who's are they if they arnt ours, whilst still shouting. It was so bizarre. Never have I been shouted at that in a hospitality environment before for someone else's error. She then stormed off and that was that. So strange. ( @ the joker I'm sure you can view it on the cctv of the pool room if you wanted to see this bizarre incident) Anyway we ate our wings, which were very tasty and made the most of the rest of our evening. But I won't be rushing back here again anytime soon, which is a shame as Ive always enjoyed it in the past.. Seems their staff need a little customer service training, as we did not appreciate the way we were treated.

Ate dinner here yesterday and thought it was great. Food was good and not overly expensive; lovely menu; fun environment; and some of the friendliest waiting staff I’ve ever experienced. Don’t be put off by the seafront location, it’s much better than many other such establishments in Brighton in my opinion and well worth a visit.

Didn't have food but the ales were fab, old school reggae and dub DJ was playing some lovely vintage vinyls and the artwork is amazing in there

New Management have completely turned this pub around, warm friendly and chatty staff. A lovely little new music venue that actually caters to young and old. They even offer vegan cocktails!!!! Was told by one of the new managers that live music is part of the new image now so will be back for their open mic for sure and their nachos topped off my night.

Woweeee! The pictures speak for themselves really. Great food, super location in the heart of the North Lanes Brighton, amazingly friendly fast efficient and helpful staff, very affordable and if you did t feel ‘cool’ before going (as in young, hip, trendy, popular ‘cool’) you certainly do by the time you leave after listening to the wide ranging cool music, eating the most scrumdiddliumptious food and interacting with the young fresh friendly faced super organised fast and efficient staff! They meet your needs in terms of sauces, drinks, condiments before you even realise! Adam and Ben are terrific and worth their weight in gold managing the place superbly and Alice served us today and was so lovely you felt right at home by the time you sat down. Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference and it’s a positive warm friendly attitude you get here. Thanks everyone! A great brunch experience so keep up the terrific work!xxx

Quick service by polite staff. Food was poor however: My Havana Heatwave Burger was overcooked and chewy, my wife’s barbecue chicken was dry and rubbery, and they seemed to have tried to offset this by it swimming in bareque sauce, which didn’t work. Last time I ate here it was Ok, but on the strength of this meal, we won’t return.
