Still the best music of any pub anywhere. For a couple of pints on a Tuesday afternoon this pub has a great atmosphere.

We love this pub. Its classy, cosy and has the best off the wall DJs that spin tunes, Friday, Saturday and Sunday mostly.. It does change. Groovy tunes to make you squirm in your seat if you are lucky enough to get one! Known for its selection of Kentucky and Tennesse whiskeys there an excellent selection of spirits.

Always a great friendly vibe. Prices reasonable by todays standards. Defo one of, if not best pub in Brighton.

Possibly the highest concentration of Daves in the entire UK, can be found here. And, trust me (I'm a Dave) that's not a bad thing. That's a good thing.

Very good pub about 5 minutes walk from Brighton Station. Five cask beers on handpump when I visited including an old ale. Plenty of outdoor seating some of it covered.

One of my favourite pubs in Brighton. Small, packed and full of great quirky people. There is no facade here, if you want a good old fashioned pub then this is the place to be. Although it's almost always crowded inside they manage to serve you super fast. Great ambiance and a real warmth about this place.

Had a great time at a DJ night at the bar. It may be a little cramped inside, but the street outside has an incredibly friendly, lovely atmosphere and the music was great. Would highly recommend this as a night out.

This is, without a doubt, my favourite pub in the world. Hosts all people from all walks of life. Best whiskey on offer in Brighton. Really reasonable prices. The music is literally *always* perfect for the vibe that day/night. Staff are perpetually lovely. Served by Calum who ticked every box for me. Proper pub with proper ales. Never had a bad time there. If you’re in Brighton, go here; you will not be disappointed.

Really nice pub in Brightons infamous lanes. Sort of hidden but I suppose that makes it a gem of a place. Wasn’t very busy but had some really good music that the customers seemed to enjoy. Bar staff were very lovely and seemed to have a good rapport with the regulars. I was served by Dexter who offered me tasters and advised me on what’s popular and what’s not. Overall I definitely recommend the pub, definitely my cup of tea! (or ale so-to-speak)

Enjoyed this pub - didn't eat. Has turntables supplying the music which as a record collector was nice to see. Good pints keenly priced for Brighton. Very clean facilities and very friendly and attentive staff. Top atmosphere and the locals were gave a warm welcome.

I visited on my recent return to the UK and very much enjoy my evening at The Great Eastern. Excellent beer, great music, friendly and helpful staff and a brillent atmosphere. I visited on a Saturday night so the pub was busy, unsurprising due to what a great pub this is. I strongly recommend a visit.

Probably the best boozer in town (they don't serve food) and my fave pub. Cozy place, great manager, friendly stuff anf fantastic vibe. On top of it a lot of cool DJs are often spinning old vinyl records in many different styes of music and every once in a while they even have live music. Who could ask for anything more?

What a pub! Quite frankly the best pub in Brighton. The atmosphere is amazing; on a busy evening, the pub is filled to the brim, music you can't help but love and staff working their hardest to ensure everyone enjoys their night. On the quieter days, it is equally lovely, with a nice and peaceful environment. They have an impressive selection of all spirits, and whilst their speciality is whisky, there are plenty of other spirits, ales, larger and many more to offer if that's what takes your fancy. The music is unique, with some fabulous DJ's playing every weekend. 100% recommend, whatever your mood.

I have visited this pub many times over the years and I have to say it has never failed to impress me , a great atmosphere, really good service and excellent ales in tip top condition . The staff are very friendly and recently the music of all variations is spot on . I will be back again sooner rather than later , keep up the good work guys.

Lovely pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, Callum in particular was very helpful with helping us order a whiskey that was right for us. There’s a great whiskey selection if you’re so inclined. Can highly recommend for anyone looking for cozy pub with a great atmosphere. Will be coming back soon!

We decided to have dinner in this restaurant as we were exhausted after a long day run and the place was just 5 minutes from our hotel. Assistance and help were just great and so was the food. Very simple, very quick, and very quiet atmosphere and we finally felt eating "the English way", a bit away from all the international food that is served almost everywhere in Brighton.

I love the Great Eastern, is one of my faves in Brighton. They always have good music on, and recently have added cocktails to the menu! What I find disappointing is the staff. When the owner isn't working there, the pub doesn't get well managed and organized. I went in the other day, and I asked for a White Lady cocktail. The woman didn't have a clue what a white lady is (it's on the menu), and then, she didn't have a clue either on how to prepare it, and did it wrong. I find very upsetting paying the amount of money that a cocktail costs, for a waitress that doesn't even know the drinks menu. They need to train staff.

Have never been attacked by a vulture whilst drinking here. It's happened at another places, I think. Is there a Tim's Bar & Grill in the Sahara desert? I was lost there for a few days so my memory isn't great plus I can't find it on TripAdvisor but he maybe scared of the review I'd give him.

The only pub in brighton with a really good selection of American whiskey, great local ales and decent lager too! Staff always friendly, have not had a bad night there yet even when so full you can't get a seat.

This is a lovely cosy 'proper pub' where everyone is welcome. Not somewhere you get dressed up to go to - just relax and be yourself! I especially like it in the winter when it's very cosy!

We have been in here many times, usually during the day when out shopping. This time we went in the evening and suffered the indignity of being ignored by the barman. I caught his eye several times but he chose to serve the young trendies, most of whom he seemed to know who came to the bar. After ten minutes of trying we left, obviously too old to drink in this pub.
