It was my go to place for food when I was a student in Brighton back in the 90's. Really worth visiting. Really good food. Vegetarian options as well. Don't take my word for it, try it you won't be disappointed.

Went to a different branch many years ago in Brighton and so decided to try it again to memorise the flavour! The burger tasted nice and I do really like the flavours that comes with pineapple, it is just so unique. Although I think the fries used to be with skin on rather than without. Overall, it's worth the price and values. I want to mention that both staff, who served us (I believe they are Polish) are super duper friendly!!! They give you the vibe of being kind, humble and respectful 👑 Thank you so much! I'd come back again for their food and their amazing service.

first day in brighton and we chose to eat dinner here cause we walked past this store. super nice atmosphere, incredibly kind service, quick food and super tasty. any requests about the food can be accommodated. would definitely go back here. cheap delicious food.

Nice cheap burgers and fries. If you are in Hove and are after a quick bite, this is your place! I tried the Malaysian burger with peanut butter and chilli which was tasty and different, and my husband had a double Caribbean burger which had pinneaple and was also nice. The portion of potato wedges was incredibly big and one of the best we have had in Brighton.

Took my 10 year old for burger. Grubbs is timeless offering both good burgers and customer service. Still the same experience as 32 years ago. The owner was friendly and the food tasty and hot. Will be back soon!

Excellent burgers, therefore big demand :) So don't be angry or frustrated if the queue is long. You'll love it. There is no toilet and the business in general is small. But I'm sure they'll become bigger.

Best place for burgers in Brighton. Great selection and choices of menu. Garlic and chilli dips are a must to accompany meal.

Took my 10 year old for lunch. I have not been here for years. The bbq burger was good and my little one enjoyed his hot dog, chips and milkshake. Bored him with stories of my twenties coming here in the early hours after clubbing. The staff very friendly. Will be back soon.

Been visiting Grubbs for over 6 years now and they're still as delicious as the 1st day I ever went there. Great size and value for money. Flame grilled, hearty burgers!!

Great tasting and excellent value burgers. Miles better than your Burger King and McDonald’s equivalents. Hospitality by the two gentlemen running the show in there yesterday evening was superb, they definitely go above and beyond usual standards.

Rarely get a burger,but when I do ,I ll sometimes go to Grubbs,always really happy with the food ...however last night was handed bag of food which unbeknown to me was very poor,bun burnt, burger cold,salad looked wilted and old, chips thin fries not good either. Disappointed as there was no one waiting for food but me,still food came out like ...cant be bothered So unimpressed Will go elsewhere in future

I've been to every burger place in Brighton and Hove, not only are they the best value for money, but definitely the best chicken burger ive ever tried in my life. Incredibly friendly staff too. 10/10 Ps the fries portions are huge

Was an incredibly warming place, great atmosphere, amazing food, they clearly take pride in what they do, they turned burgers into pure art. I was originally going to take it away, but whilst ordering, I decided I actually want to stay in. I'm never like that. This place is magnetic. Pure bliss. I've been to every burger place in Brighton, and this one is by far the best 👌 The man working, Michael, was super lovely. He clearly has a lot of passion for what he does, and he made sure we were happy and having a good time. This place blows my mind, and I can not express enough how much I think you should definitely go here!! Thank you guys for the wonderful experience!

Burgers were gorgeous with fresh salad. The chips were incredibly disappointing. Cheap frozen chips. The chips were over £3 a rip off on those. What happened to the good old chip shop chips they used to do?

Visited 2 months ago and still thinking about the experience to this day, so I felt compelled to leave a five star review. By far the best burgers I have ever tasted, nothing comes close, and both of the ones I had were vegetarian!! Without a doubt, an unforgettable taste.

The price is good (also for students), the food was good for the price, we had to squeeze in but overall it's a good idea for students from our school and it's affordable. We would recommend this restaurant.

I used to visit Grubbs back in the seventies when there were tables in the basement. I was amazed to see that the menu had barely changed . The staff were friendly and our burgers were absolutely delicious. The best burger I have tasted in over 40 years . This place is worth travelling to . I will definitely be returning. Thanks 🙏

Amazing selection of beef and chicken burgers with different fillings. Cheaper and better than five guys! Couldn't recommend it more for anymore after a reliably good burger for lunch or dinner. 🍔 Make sure to get the mango dip and the garlic dip as they are both amazing.

I really fancied to try the burger, but when I walked through the door there was a clearly drunk member of staff kicking and banging into the wall and it was quite scary as he was shouting as well. I just left, but I am very dissapointed to have witnessed this behaviour.

Was in dire need of a mid afternoon burger fix after a night on the town. Smashes chain burgers. Was cooked from scratch, cheese was steam melted, salad was fresh. Milkshakes are proper as well. watched the chef do it all while listening to some tunes

Small place with decent burgers. All freshly made to order. I have had chilli burger and it was lovely! Ive ordered potato wedges. Portion was big, but some potatoes have had black spots, which wasn't a good sign. Also, ive ordered onion rings and well... I wouldn't recommend those. They were too oily. I have to admit, tgat the sauces are good. I have had garlic, chilly and blue cheese. They all were great.

I first visited Grubs in Hove back in the 1980s and was amazed to find it was still there. My friend and I both agreed that it was one of the best burgers we had eaten in years.

Went for a quick lunch with my work mate - food was quick and cooked perfectly! A very satisfying and tasty lunch. We both had chicken burgers and thoroughly enjoyed them!!

Couldn’t fault this lovely eatery. Clean, customer service was outstanding and food was fresh & delicious. The friendly man serving at the front counter went over and beyond to help customers. Highly recommend!

Described as beloved by locals, this is a pretty good place. The price was reasonable, the chips were great, you add salt to your taste. The burger was pretty standard but still tasty, and for the price definitely worth it.

Cooked fresh to order you wait 10 minutes. 10 minutes is long enough to enjoy a quick pint next door. Very well prepared and tasty burgers and amazingly good quality chips. Go - eat - enjoy. 7 quid Hawaiian and chips.

What an exceptional bar, it was like walking back in time to the 20's or 30's it had style, dark paneling and a thrumming vibe. We sat and had drinks chatting for ages enjoying the atmosphere and people eating. Easy access directly from the street and would love to visit when they have jazz on.

The pub was not inviting and our table not suitable for 4 adults. We had the Sunday roast, the meat was cooked well, the veg were fresh and not over cooked but the roast and mashed potatoes were very tasteless. The gravy thin and flavourless. I'm not sure what the sauce on the cauliflower and broccoli was either. The staff were chatty and friendly. I give them 5 stars.

Were recommended to use the Fox on the Downs by a couple whose house we had viewed while house-hunting. The four of us were initially the only people in the pub on a Monday evening and while there only two other customers arrived for drinks, The interior is basic but adequate. Staff were freindly. The menu offers sirlion or ribeye steaks and a wide selection of burgers. On a Monday evening however it was possible to have two steak meals for the price of one at £12,99. Sauces were extra. All four of us had steak which was rump and came with chips, mushrooms, tomato, onion rings and some greenery. The sauces came in a small pot and were ok. Although the meal was nothing special at the offer price it was very good value. The pub has good reviews for its Sunday carvery and probably a Monday evening is not the best time to eat out.

Grubbs remains the very best burger in Brighton & Hove - and to be honest, the best burger you can get anywhere. What you get for the money you pay outs every other burger to shame. A choice of beef, vegetarian or lamb burger with a massive and diverse selection of favours all homemade patties and exceptional. The beef is really good quality, the vegetarian patty is insanely good and all homemade hand rolled oats and veg and soya etc and the lamb burger is just as exceptional as the beef. Quality, double thick milkshakes, fantastic onion rings and the tastiest chips in the biggest portions you've ever seen. But beyond that is that Grubbs flame grilled flavour. It really is a burger unlike any other .. go on... Treat yourself... You won't be disappointed...

I love grubbs. I have however turned up way before the advertised closing time more than once to find the doors locked and the guys shrugging at me when I've hungrily gestured outside. Good burgers. Wrong opening times.

Haven't been here for 6 years plus. But after a late arrival home after holiday needed something to fill the stomach. Maybe not as good as it used to be, but still pretty good. Not outstanding but I enjoyed it and the burgers still reasonably priced. I will go back a bit sooner than 6 years!

Grubbs burgers. Literally changed the way I think about burgers. That's not even an exaggeration. Whenever I make burgers now, I debate whether I want a traditional burger, or a Tropical burger. No matter how often I make my own, they never come out as good as Grubbs. I assume their secret ingredient is crack, because I just can't get enough

Service was amazing, he could not have been more helpful or considerate. The burgers are amazing. We had the Mexican and the blue cheese. Will definitely be back one day. A must for any Brighton local or visitor.

Always stop by when visiting Brighton. The Tropical and Malaysian are our favourites. They look odd but taste delicious. The fries are really nice too. Shame there’s only one outlet left.

Found out about Grubbs before visiting Brighton for the first time from online from some list of must-see places. Not disappointed at all! It's cool that since the 79's Grubbs is still alive!

Fab burgers first time having lamb burgers and pineapple the same time.

Decent late night place if you're drunk and need something to soak up the alcohol, but otherwise I would avoid it.

Hawaiian and chips. 6 quid I think. There is a crispness to the burger that you do not get elsewhere, the outside is crisp. The range of burgers on offer is varied, and vegan if you wish. Chips are so much better than you will find elsewhere. It's more take away than sit in, unless you are lucky. Staff are Eastern European and very friendly and cook good food. It started in 1976 and it is still good and still the same.

Been in there a couple times to get the fries they’re great! Don’t get the large unless you’re prepared to eat a whole meal of chips it’s massive-great value. Today got the veggie cheese burger and it’s so good! And they make the veggie burgers themselves and as a life long pescatarian it was delicious! And lovely staff- love it

After being recommended these burgers from a friend I tried them. Turns out they are just burger van burgers, straight frozen beef burgers and cheap buns.
