Shelter Hall in Brighton and Hove

My only gripe is no menus so everyone’s on their phone but other than that awesome time

First time visiting Shelter Hall. Ended up visiting two days in a row. Excellent food, great beer (I recommend the Shelter Pale Ale). Service was good. Really nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend and we’ll be back again in the future

Food options were good, and the service was good. Nice and affordable place to grab some food by the beach.

Great place, we havd a similar smaller type within 15 walk so decided to give this a go. Absolutely fabulous place. Really warm welcome by a member of staff, food was excellent, I went for Sushi, boys opted for burger and chicken from two different outlets and both commended them highly. Great atmosphere too. Thanks guys.

Food was a bit cold today, otherwise tasty

Wonderful experience, food was excellent, everyone very friendly and helpful. To have such a wonderful variety of cuisines at your fingertips, all fabulously tasty, was a fabulous experience. Would highly recommend.

We always come here when we visit Brighton - this was our first time trying Temaki Bros and the rice bowls were fantastic. Staff friendly and helpful. Back soon.

Ordered the steak which was quite small but was over seasoned, really salty. Could not eat it. Restaurant needed to give me a refund for drinks we ordered that were not correct but it has not landed in my bank. Have tried to email the restaurant but this bounces back. Have also tried to call and left messages but had no response. Would not go again.

Really impressed with shelter hall. Really well organised unlike other food markets I’ve been to! It’s order from the table and you’re guaranteed a table so no wandering around looking for somewhere. Every staff member we interacted with was so friendly! Loved the 6 baby Guinness for £20 deal and the photo booth upstairs! Super well situated too!

Great service, booked the mezzanine floor got a table next to the window. Food was served quickly and was hot and fresh and a great mixture of choices.

I visited with my family for some lunch after my wife found it online. When we booked, we mentioned we needed an accessible table as our son is disabled. Erin showed us to our table and asked if we'd like one in their quieter area as it was very busy and loud, and when we got to that area, there weren't any tables. So Erin took us to the private dining room. By this point, our son was struggling with all the noise and moving about, so Erin set up the TV for him to watch, and when she shut the door, it was so peaceful. He settled down instantly, and we had the most relaxed meal out we have ever had. We have never felt so welcome in a restaurant as a family, and the staff couldn't have done more to accommodate us. Normally, we have to rush our food so our son doesn't get overwhelmed by the noise of a busy restaurant. Because of our room, he was able to eat his food, then lay in the window seat and just watch the world go by, and we were all able to just eat at our own pace. This and the staff made what can sometimes be quite a stressful experience with lots of staring and judgemental looks from fellow diners to be one we will look forward to definately have again. And this is before we get to the food. It was delicious. Properly lovely. We weren't expecting the dishes to be as big as they were, so we slightly over ordered but managed to get most of it eaten as we didn't want to waste it. 10/10

Great food, great service. A bit pricy and loud but worth experiencing.

We headed there early on a Friday evening and were only able to sit outside as walk ins. There were tables empty both inside and on the balconies. We both ordered from steakhaus and the food was delicious. Only problem was because we were sat outside the food went cold really quickly. Would visit again but wouldn’t want to be sat outside again.

Overall a good evening, with great food However, one of our party had a whole glass of wine tipped over him, luckily it was white wine, and apart from grabbing some napkins it was pretty much brushed off from the server. Another glass arrived shortly after but there could have been a greater acknowledgement of the incident and a proper apology as he had to sir he wet clothes for the whole evening

Not my first visit here, we often come to Shelterhall for food when in Brighton. It was a busy sunny Saturday evening and we got seated outside which is lovely when it’s warm. Three of us ordered drinks and food. The food was from different outlets and all of it was lovely. I had chicken wings from Lost Boys that I will definitely order again and the other two had vegan bowls of something. Best Plac on the beach to be on a lovely day.x

A large food hall on the beach with a wide range of food venues shelving the usual tacos, burgers, and pizzas - all with a bit of a twist. Well worth a visit. At busy times there will be a wait to be seated.

Lovely place to sit and relax really fast service and ordering from table is great. Few more cocktail choices would be ideal.

Attended a private networking event. Shelter Hall team were extremely helpful, and the breakfast buffet was good.

Great place on the beach for food and drink. Nice choice of good food, good beers and great cocktails. (Sometimes service can be a little slow depending on busyness). Great atmosphere and attentive friendly staff.

Pequeñas porciones, muy poco valor. Pedí un filete con ensalada, compré un plato de tamaño infantil, que costaba £ 18. En comparación con Un lugar muy conocido en Londres por un precio similar se obtiene buena porción de filete , ensalada, pan francés y papas fritas grandes con salsa. Fue muy decepcionante y era más como un entrante y sentía hambre. Los niños querían ir aquí, pero encontrarán otro lugar para comer en el paseo marítimo la próxima vez.

Spent an amazing few hours in the sunshine here yesterday! Always heard good things about Shelter Hall and now I can confirm they're true!

We visited twice while we were in Brighton. Great selection of food and drinks. Great service, Friendly staff. The place it self had tables over 3 floors catered for walk-ins and pre booked customer.

Sat outside,staff extremely friendly, even for a man in his mid 70's QR code menu easy to navigate and pay for your order,will come again, food and drinks excellent

I was super disappointed to spend £14 on king oyster mushrooms tacos that were chewy and bland. The spicy dip that came with it didnt taste fresh. I'm pleased I ordered the street corn that was covered in feta and a nice green sauce - I really wasn't expecting that corn could ever steal the show from king oyster mushrooms! My experience here was mid, it was the tacos that really let it down. My friend got the steak and chips and was sooo happy so maybe I was just unlucky and ordered something that was poorly executed. Atmosphere was nice and the service was prompt and polite.

Well presented, tasty food (I had an Indian-inspired vegetarian dish), loads of variety, great service. Sat outside but the tunes inside sounded good.

We booked the private dining room for a group gathering, Great well equipped room, prompt service and great location. Will definitely book again and recommend if anyone wants an intimate space with easy ordering and a great view over the beach.

Very loud as we were close to 2 large groups. Might be worth trying to group the tables of 2 together and the larger tables in another area.

Excellent, slick service including the door / host staff who have a tough job managing the queue on a bank holiday Saturday. Great live singer providing a chilled background. Food ok but sea view and buzz make up for it not being great. The only downside is the lack of a printed menu - digital is not particularly accessible for all and a longwinded way to select and order.

At last there’s a decent burger vendor at Shelter Hall, we will definitely be returning!!

Staff were all really kind and helpful - we did have an issue with some of our food but this was sorted quickly.

The 3Bros burgers were outstanding, as always. We had the wagyu burger w. bacon and the chickpea burger. Both delicious, will be back!

It's an odd place, it's taken away the human interaction. You order by phone and so there is no chat about what is good etc.... Love the fact there x number of different restaurants under one roof. But I am sorry to say, my veggie burger was very dry - even after adding a load of mayo.

Pedí una hamburguesa de garbanzos ya que soy vegetariana. No hay mucha opción. Ni siquiera era un buen rollo, rollo barato suave con la hamburguesa simplemente obviamente carbonizada. Es soso y sin sabor. Sólo comí la mitad. Por £ 12 la hamburguesa se espera un poco de sabor. Era como cartón. Obviamente podría haber añadido salsa de chile a £ 2. 50 y halloumi por 2 libras más. 50 que sería £ 17 por 1 hamburguesa que es más caro que la hamburguesa de ternera que ya tenía ensalada / salsa y sin cargo adicional. Mis maridos hamburguesa de ternera estaba bien. El entorno es precioso frente al mar, pero definitivamente no volvería atrás

We went there with a group of 14 lads. So handy ordering pints/food. Music was great. Guy playing an acoustic set was amazing. We sat outside and found it hard to leave. Highly recommend

Amazing, right outside our hotel so we thought we’d try it atmosphere was great. We sat outside right on the sea front. food came quickly and there was so much! I got a frozen pina colada which was mid tastes more like a slush puppie. We got a table straight away and ordered through the QR code.

First time visiting food hall like this. And I must say how easy it was to order pay and wait. It seamed as soon as my money left my account the drinks were landing on our table. Excellent service and great food we ordered a complete mix array of food on offer and it all arrived very quick hot and very tasty.

Lovely sea view and delicious coffee. Saltio (was Crudo) Mexican is a great inclusion, my favourite. Shame Milk Bar, the coffee place, wasn’t open at lunchtime. Not today either I see

We visited Shelter Hall on Easter Sunday for the first time and were really impressed. The food and drinks were really good, and came to the table really quickly - but what made it stand out was the service we received. Every single staff member was friendly and efficient. Special shoutout to Morgan who greeted us, explained how the ordering worked, and even came back to our table after we’d sat down to offer us a nicer table near a window. Absolutely outstanding service, as we’d already ordered food to the original table, she arranged for it to be diverted to the new table without stress. Thank you so much.

Go for the thali platter from Kati stall. Buns of burgers from 3bros and coqfighter were dry and small in portion as well as just only lukewarm. Cheese at both stalls 🍔 were inexistent in size. Pistachio latte from café stall was good!

We were a group of eight showing up without a booking, but despite being very busy on a sunny bank holiday weekend we were given a table quickly and the service was fast! The food was delicious and the cocktails kicked off our hen party in style! We will be back! 🍹
