Shelter Hall in Brighton and Hove

Fantastic place to eat & drink, so many choices. Was here with friends last Saturday night & the booked an igloo for us, my only gripe is that it needs to be clearly marked where Shelter Hall is as my friend who made the reservation struggled to fine the place & we ended up going in the restaurant to determine exactly where it is! Also I found the stairwell going down to the place is a little dark especially at night, more lights are definitely needed as a security measure as I did struggle going down the stairs & I feel that potential accidents can happen.

Delicious and so much choice! Love the domes outside with the fleecy furs too!

Friendly service and nice food. Drinks expensive and really slow to arrive. All n all, a nice afternoon.

Amazing place to chill and have a few drinks. Staff were amazing food was OK but it's probably me being fussy.

Chicken wings I ordered from Coq were very poor, as were sauces. kebab from 3 pigs was way too salty, calamari was perfect. Other foods were good. Drinks were a little slow but served well by friendly staff. Nice place to spend an evening.

I had a pizza and it was ok, service really good and I enjoyed it seeing the sea 😊

Visited for a new year's party that was mis-sold as having something to do with disco but was really just a random collection of songs sung by 2 perfectly decent artists. Had a great time even though the bar was rammed. The event seemed well organised just not as expected. Enjoyed the food and would be back if there wasn't a perpetual queue outside every time I pass by.

We enjoyed some food and a few drinks in one of their pods overlooking the seafront. Food and drinks were great and speedy friendly service.

Service charge is secretly added on after you agreed the amount on the app. Also why do all the review buttons not work unless you press 5* ??

Igloo booked. Difficult group voucher arrangement, which just didn’t work well at all for the group. Nice food. Service sketchy. One of us didn't receive her order and had to go inside to chase it up. By then, everyone else had finished their food. Igloo could have been warmer. We had to keep our coats on.

Really great to sit “ outside” in a cosy igloo for celebrating a friends winter birthday . Normally we’re huddled indoors somewhere but to feel we were outside and virtually on the beach at Brighton on a sunny but cold winters day was fantastic. With views of Palace (Brighton) pier and the West pier it couldn’t have been better. The process to order food on the app was so easy and all the food was excellent. The server was really helpful and cheerful which made the whole experience one we want to repeat!

The Indian chicken wrap tray was great, nice beers on tap too. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere but it was a Tuesday night, so very quiet.

I’ve dined at Shelter Hall multiple times and the service has always been amazing! Side note: I have recently started getting Rudi’s Burgers veggie halloumi burger and would highly recommend it.

I went here with my 10yr old granddaughter and it was a lovely end to a perfect day. We sat on the balcony watching the sun go down and the staff were lovely. Thanks for a great experience x

This place is like big food market with some counter, you order food and pay first then they deliver to you table if you give the table number, you can pay with card or cash, food was ok .. coffee was excellent .. the views from the balcony are stunning.

Have visited a number of times now and always look forward to going back. Great variety of cuisines/kitchens to pick from, excellent value and always delicious. Never had a bad meal here. Staff attentive and never have to wait long. Highly recommend.

We went for New Years Eve party, it was great fun, Billie Gold was brilliant, would definitely go back next year if she is singing. We only had drinks, which arrived quickly and were good. Welcome drink was a nice touch. It could only have been better if the DJ had played Auld Lang syne after the countdown.

Always excellent food and lovely service. It’s usually busy with a lively crowd. Some of the best value food in Brighton.

Wonderful service and food and drinks in an igloo outside for New Year’s Eve

Great lunch with friends. One issue and one issue only, which brings what would be 5 star to 4 star. All orders are via an app, and, as usual with such ordering, the app asks that you pay a service, before you have recieved service. I find this totally unacceptable. There is an inbuilt threat that you won't receive good service unless you do, and I refuse to pay service before I've received service. However the real issue is after my food and drinks I went to try to pay some tip and, for a cashless place (and in 2025, who carries cash?) they only accepted cash tips, with no capacity to take a card one. Whoever runs this place needs to sort this out (and owes the tip jar a tenner on my behalf, as their choice of set up shorted their staff!) Don't be so presumptius and offensive before ordering, and let me tip your staff on card after ordering. Please. Food and service were great. Bit spenny but that comes with the location. Would definitely be 5 stars if they hadn't done the above.

Went in NYE for their disco party. Was so much fun, that had live entertainment and a DJ until late and it was a great atmosphere. All the staff were great and looked like they were really enjoying being there too.

We had an early dinner in one of the igloos on New Year's Eve. It was well insulated with a heater so we were comfortable even when the wind was really rough. There were lots of food options for both of us as there are 7 kitchens on site and, even though we ordered from different places, the food arrived quickly and at the same time. We really enjoyed our visit and would happily go back next time we're in Brighton.

Stopped for lunch on Boxing Day. Shelter Hall was really festive and inviting. The food was good, service was great, a really enjoyable experience so will definitely go back next time we’re in Brighton.

We booked an Igloo that I would definitely recommend, they included pretty Xmas decorations, heaters, sheepskin throws and Bluetooth speakers! I am so pleased we chose to ignore the ‘avoid Saltico review’ as our experience was the exact opposite. We ordered the Chicken tacos and tortillas that came served with guacamole and dips which were so tasty, fresh and plentiful, couldn’t fault it. Our servers were also so friendly, helpful and efficient I don’t think we waited more than 10 minutes for our food to arrive. Definitely would order Saltico on our next visit.

For our staff Christmas party, we wanted something a little more relaxed and flexible with food choices. I asked for a large booking with Shelter Hall, and the response time was fantastic. We managed to get a table for 30 in December, and everyone got to eat what they felt like. We used the voucher system which was perfect as our head office preloaded for purchases on the night. The venue was very festive and welcoming- I cannot wait to come back again soon!

This venue is an absolute blinder of a place. We went there for a Christmas party and were blown away with how wonderfully it was decorated and the food. Whoever decorated inside should be given a pay rise, and the Christmas treas was simply beautiful! Special thanks needs to go to a lovely young woman called Morgan who went above and beyond looking after us - thank you.

Food from each vender was very bland. Felt like there was no love whatsoever. Lego style flavourless food, very disappointing. Staff and atmosphere were great tho. Go here if you don’t care about how food tastes :)

It all started on Our Wedding Anniversary 12/12/2024 morning walking by Shelter Hall My Queen 👑 loved the festive Igloos with decorations ( pic down below )outside and said it would be nice to celebrate our anniversary there, soooooooo I love my wife Mel very much and wanted to make her wish come true. Speaking to the Manager Skye ( I hope it spelt right) we realised it was not that straight forward, it was super busy that night for a unplanned special meal. Skye made it happen, My Queen had her wish and so we went in the evening for our wedding anniversary meal and it was perfect, thanks to our waitress Morgan making us feel special and at home with the perfect balance of wit, charm and spot on service. Top place to eat and drink. Fantastic waitress Morgan. Great food Great service Oh before I forget... The Igloo experience is done very well. We had a Bluetooth speaker so you can hear your own music. Plus ordering everything with there online app, pretty neat stuff and very efficient, customise your food and drink according to your preference. 10/10 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent venue for our work Christmas party! We had the Skylark bar which was perfect for our party size, great food to order (no buffet waste) and lovely staff.

I booked the outdoor igloo and it was an amazing experience. Staff were friendly, food was good, price wasn’t too bad. Would definitely recommend.

We loved the friendly welcome from Morgan, the easy process for ordering and how dog friendly it was. We booked for the outside igloo and we loved how cosy they felt and the use of our own speaker. All of the food was amazing, it was good to be able to order from different places to suit the group and all the people serving were friendly. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to revisit next time we are in Brighton.

Fabulous atmosphere with live jazz and an excellent food. Being on keto diet I thought it may be difficult to find anything in here. And how delightful it has been. I've ordered chicken kebab with salad instead of flat bread, it came with a delicious Greek salad, what a treat, and I was totally on track with my diet. Really appreciated thank you so much. Totally recommended.

Food was great! We took our daughter to the Santa grotto yesterday and all the staff were so helpful and really lovely. A very Christmassy atmosphere. We ate after downstairs and all the food was incredible, we ended up ordering something from each of the different kitchens! Highly recommend

We went to Shelter Hall last night for a work party. There was a mix up in terms of bookings (totally on us) and the team here were utterly brilliant. They went out of their way to help and found us an incredible space! The food was delicious, the drinks were fast and the place looked beautiful with Christmas decorations.

The igloo experience was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was tasty but I feel the taco portion was lacking a little for an adult. We had to order extra food as we were still hungry!

5⭐️ Experience all round. The Skylark bar was perfectly suited for our family get together. Smart, modern, clean & classy presentation. The staff were truly friendly, we even had them join in, in the celebrations. Helpful & accommodating of all requests bought to them. They found a way to make it happen. The service is incredibly fast & efficient, met with a vast variety of quality food, suited for all our difficult eaters 😏. Thank you Shelter Hall & staff for assisting in the facilitating of the best day & experiences we could of asked for.

Fast service and great food and drink

Can’t fault the food, everything we had was very nice. Just a shame about the service and wait times for the food. There was 7 of us on the table and not one of us where eating at the same time as all food was coming out at very different times. I ordered 3 things from 3 vendors and had to wait around 15 mins for each dish to come out one after the other. Concept of this place is good but just needs better management with the food orders coming out at the same time as everyone else on the table.

Nicely decorated, nice staff, quick service. We enjoyed pretty much most of our food besides the chicken tacos that tasted like soap, I’ve still given a 5 stars for the food though as the rest of it was lovely!

I had lunch here twice during a short break in Brighton. I loved the concept of the independent restaurants and bars under the same roof and the ordering process was easy and prompt. The small plates were great value for money and the food was tasty. I loved the cocktails ! The Hall’s position on the sea front makes the whole experience extra special.

Amazing place that took us by surprise! So much so we came back the following day. Easy access that allows dogs, easy ordering at the table with table service. Excellent views of Brighton sea front. Lovely staff very helpful! Thanks for having us!

Overpriced and terrible communication from the venue. I ordered a child's meal for my son from a mexican there and it was very spicy. Mentioned it politely to the staff at the kitchen and they just said ok and walked off

Stumbled upon this place while visiting Brighton. Really lovely. Great atmosphere, setting, food, facilities (we came with two babies). Feels a lot like Seven Dials market in London. Highly recommend!
