Shelter Hall in Brighton and Hove

1st and last time I will go here. Security were rude upon entry and when I complained I was called a liar. No staff to greet or show you to your (pre-booked) table. Food was average. As is becoming the norm you have to order for yourself on a QR code. The place resembles a huge school canteen. Got to be better places in Brighton to eat. The only plus was the cheesy garlic bread!

This 1 star is for the greeting we received ay the Shelter hall.Don't know what the owners are thinking with the current security here. A couple of absolute clowns on the door as you enter...felt like a fast show sketch or something. We were a family of 6 with a booking. The 2 jokers on the door really couldn't have cared less, too busy chatting up a couple of hen party members. We actually thought we had come to the wrong entrance at one point so my pal went round to look for the main entrance and clown number 1 went chasing after him aggressively telling him he could't go that way, crazy. Sort out the way you enter this place Shelter Hall..give people a proper reception rather than a couple of savages greeting people here..unbelievable...

Such a brilliant find!! 7 different kitchens all with amazing food, tonnes of options for all the family. The staff were so welcoming and kind! Would 100% recommend.

We booked a table for 18 students and 2 teachers. The girl who we talked to for the booking was extremely nice and on the day of the reservation everything went perfect, thanks to the waiter, who helped us out with everything. Even when there was a small mistake about something, they immediately fixed it and compensated for it. We felt at home, so we'll be back again when we visit Brighton in the future :)

Staff were unbelievable, had a lovely chat with the KP who was telling me about his degree. Food was amazing big up Greg and Matt in Rudi’s for the delicious burger.

Always a great place on the seafront and within a short walk to the beach, helpful staff for using the QR code menus for ordering, have been in both summer and winter season times there, hope to come back at some point in the near future for other great times there soon.

We were using the Skylark bar now two years in a row for a Company Christmas event with cocktails and I can they they improved it a lot ever since. Last year it was quite good already, but the cocktails served were a little one sided (either G&T variants or stronger stirring cocktails). This year it was frankly amazing! Such a nice variety of originals and rifts on classics very well made and a nice unique composition designed by the local bar team. The menu was about 20 cocktails long - only, you may think - but these were nothing out of the box, well crafted unique self-composed delicious drinks, which are varied enough to assure there will be something for everyone's taste buds. I am a hobbyist mixologist myself and I could see they know their craftsmanship very well. Highly recommend to check it out and have some well made drinks!

Me and my friend have been at the shelter hall before for food and this time we decided to try the Skylark Cocktail Bar upstairs for the first time. We arrived and there was this wonderful lavander smell that already caught out attention. Very cosy with tables and sofas, we order 2 cocktails and some food later on through the shelter hall system online that we think it’s so convenient and has lots of variety! Ben and Ergys and the other staff provided us with an excellent and friendly service. Always making sure we had everything we need. Ergys made the most delicious and elegant cocktails! We will definitely come back and we recommend you visit them and try the drinks (and the food of course)
