I was served a very portion of seasoned fries and no complaints here! The takeaway bag and box presentation made me feel good about eating fast-food :)

A bit late to the party when it comes to Burger Nation, on the corner at the St Peters end of Trafalgar. It's been on my 'to do' list for a while now, I'm a sucker for a decent burger, not usually on the menu at home, I like to see whether each use of extra descriptives like fresh, handmade, cooked to order and gourmet are just excuses for charging higher prices, longer wait times and no discernable difference to bargain bucket basement fast food prices for a product with a quality assurance that requires an asterisk to a footnote * ['definately confirmed compliant with fit for human consumption legal requirements]. This is not that - It was a mistake to have waited so long. I ordered an 'English' (blue cheese to you and I) and a side of onion rings. I'm always happy when you can just have a burger without a side of fries automatically included. Sure, it's super annoying when they're charged as a ridiculously priced extra too, but I mean, a brioche bun AND chips for lunch? Like some sort of carbohydrate savage? I think not!! Burger looked very pretty on the wooden trencher, no doubt hand crafted by a hipster master carpenter, upcycled polished slices from the mizzen mast of a recycled sunken pirate ship or something like that probably. Onion rings came - obviously ironically - in a galvanised mini bucket. Of course, as I'd sat myself on a barstool at the counter in the front plate glass window rather than one of the inside tables or booths and thus on public show to the busy passing horde of homeward bound commuters, I realised too late that I was about to eat a burger that absolutely required a firm two handed plate to mouth delivery plus the extra third hand at the front, to maintain structural integrity, without doing a sideways turn to keeping everything from spilling out, was about to happen. Being wider than my mouth and taller than my jaw opens, this had the potential to equal a somersaulting Orca during feeding time at the zoo, or more appropriately, a demented silverback gorilla stuffing double handfuls of food into whatever face hole was available before the sun sets over the serengeti... Halfway through the second mouthful, I realised that I didn't care at all, slow down, chew properly and remember to breathe. The burger patty was firm and soft and moist and juicy all at the same time. A few crispy charred bits on the outside reminiscent of the edges of a flattened squash burger. The blue cheese was an actual piece of cheese, not a flavoured mayo goop, the pickle popped just enough to register, but giving a balance I didn't realise was needed - somehow sweet instead of soured, and the toasted brioche bun was firm but pillowy, light and airy, no danger of disintegrating, not just a vehicle, but adding to the whole. This was a really good burger, really good. It was so tasty and enjoyable and satisfying. A really grown up eating experience with different levels of flavour coming through with each chew, adding and building, everything complementary to the whole, a real unexpected crescendo that kept growing that kind of took me by surprise. I had to calm down, put the burger down, it didn't fall apart. The onion rings were hot and crisp and tasty. Not technically battered individual rings of onion, the more generic breaded kind. Something popped though, I wonder if there was flavoured coating or maybe a lemon black pepper dusting. Yummy too. In the past I've paid more and got less and accepted it. Sometimes it's fine, you go back. Sometimes it's not fine, you don't. Sometimes fine just isn't enough. On this occasion, I was hoping for fine, looking for good, and got a superb that I didn't expect but that I totally and genuinely enjoyed. Various deals for lunch or an early dinner, alone or with company. My recommendation though is to leave the kids at home so you can enjoy the actual eating experience rather than just refuelling your body whilst they drain your soul. Longevity ahoy!!

Caught in the rain and found shelter here, hubby encouraged me to try onion rings which I have up until now hated. I now love them because of this place!!! Super comfy and low-key interior and vibe, chill staff who didn’t mind that we just had one item and some waters. Thank you again ☺️

I'm a vegetarian eating dinner with a meat eater, normally I have less choices than him, but not tonight! Really lovely spicy bean burger for me and Hawaian burger for him. Highly recommended!

Nice overall presentation but the burger meat itself is clearly a frozen supermarket burger with not much taste to it, and it's the same price as Meat Liquor just down the road.

Not in a rude way but if you don’t know the menu you can you learn it as i asked what was in the chicken burger and and said just chicken and lettuce and mayo but I got it and their was onion and tomato and I’m allergic to tomato so if I didn’t look inside my burger it could of been life threatening!!!!!!! Won’t be coming back And need to add I did ask the chef what was in the burger and he couldn’t tell me what was in the burger. I think he couldn’t understand me !
