Staff were ok polite enough but the place is a dump you couldn’t move for plates, glasses and the tables were filthy dirty and sticky, unfortunately it was a rough place to be so won’t be going there again

Super busy but staff were pleasant enough the food is normal fare but tables left uncleaned making it hard to find a table without taking the glasses and plates to the place they supposed to go by members of the staff,drinks silly cheap and you always see people from all walks of live enjoying their time here,been better but been worse so rated average

Its a Spoons and you cannot doubt the place for the excellent value for money. You’d pay £15 in a hotel for a breakfast but can get three for the same price here. Staff very friendly and helpful- went upstairs on the next visit, where it was a lot less busy and hectic with a great view over street below. Had a couple of pints of Doombar later one afternoon and again great price, beer quality and service.

We waited for the order around half an hour . We waited for food next half an hour.They bring for me food which wasn't what I ordered. The kids food was smelled strange like someone try quick defrost the chicken fillets to burger . Horrible nuggets . Also meat from mix grill taste like old and grains in salad the same. Later when we wanted order extra drinks for kids they said they can take order just from app which is not working ,cause they have a slow WiFi and if I wanted use mine wasn't connected in this place .I wouldnt recommend this place for family dinner . The food can be poison.

We visited on Friday Not overly busy but we waited for drinks and when our food came out the order's were mixed We just ate it as we were hungry and couldn't be bothered to wait for it to be re-cooked 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Bar staff were extremely slow and served others before me even though they saw me waiting.

As always a spoons is like walking into a west-end show set and kicking up and watching the drama unfold - in this scenario though the food and the drinks also contributed to the negative atmosphere. Although it’s good value, I’d be wary and spend the extra few quid somewhere else for a better afternoon out.

The chicken burger had a horrible stench to it and after 2 bites my girlfriend had to stop eating it she later threw up due food poisoning (she hadn’t eaten anything else other than their chips) Vile food would not recommend.

Food was good and service was excellen. Though very busy did not have to wait long at all .

I went in here for what was my first morning in Brighton for breakfast. Wish i hadn't as it was a calamity of errors. I was by myself an so when i went in i went to my right, up a few steps and got what was the last table available, i went to order the food and get a coffee an when i returned to where i was hoping to sit, someone else was sitting there which i kind of guessed would be the case as i stated at the time when ordering that my table number would be subject to change. So i saw the member of staff i placed the order with to let them know of the change of table number and i sat at a circular bar table opposite the bar to the bars right so that i could be seen when bringing out the breakfast out. So 20 minutes go by, i have already had 2 coffees by this time an still no sign of my breakfast, about 5 minutes later i noticed a member of staff walk over to where i was originally meant to of been sitting with a breakfast, come back with it and take it back in the kitchen, so thinking if that was mine i gave it a few minutes and went over to the bar, i spotted the manager and asked her what was going on as its been 30 minutes and i have no breakfast......she went to find out what was going on and they had my breakfast sitting there - apparently, the person i told that i was now at a different table to the one i originally gave, did not pass this message on, so they brought my breakfast out yet when ordering i asked them to change the fried egg for scrambled, to which they said they would, but they had not, there was still a fried egg on the plate - so this very same person not only had not told anyone that i had moved tables but she had also not passed the messaged on about the eggs, which i found strange as she would of entered that at the till. An like i said, i was sitting on a matter of feet away from the bar so that they could see me! So another 10 minutes go by and still no sign of the breakfast i ordered 40 minutes ago, i again go to the bar an ask where it is, 2 minutes later it comes out, this time it was missing a hash brown, so i asked a young chap working there an to his credit he brought me two out. So 45 minutes, 4 coffees and one hot chocolate later i finally received my breakfast. I have had breakfast's up and down the UK in Wetherspoons and this is by far the worse experience i have had the displeasure to endure. Lack of communication, carefree attitude of staff, and basic observational skills lack here with this lot. Its a shame as i was planning on going there on the Monday and Tuesday morning for breakfast but this key stone kops calamity of errors put me right off.

A short walk to the beach with secure parking next door. Great staff, family friendly with wheelchair lift access to eating area.

For five days I visited this pub for food and drinks. Most of the time it was excessively noisy and staff failed to control rowdy customers. The food was mixed with the first and last having a watery curry. One had soft poppadoms, one had a too soft naan bread. Yet overall the food wasn't too bad. The service however for app orders was mixed. On the first day I had to chase a pint of ale ordered on the app. The pour was rushed and it didn't settle that well but was ok. Generally the drinks were great though missing a slice of fruit on the last pepsi I ordered. Overall, not a bad pub for price and location. I expected it to be more expensive. Service needs to improve as it could be a bit faster.

I'm a big fan of Wetherspoons, but this one is not one of their best pubs. Positive: it's central and the pepperoni pizza was amazing. Negative: Too crowded, too much noise and the inside location didn't look that great.

A medium sized Wetherspoon's The Usual and All ok ! I like them for Breakfast when I am Away on the Isle of Wight EG

Thank goodness for waterstones! Not 5 star but at those prices, you cannot reasonably expect 5 stars. Service was friendly & efficient. Beer was cold & bed was warm. What more do you need?

Nice pub, but you had some rude customers from the masons that pushed in front of an old lady, who had been waiting for a long time.

My drink was made wrong by the bar staff and when I asked politely for it to be remade the manager was rude and blanked me. She was unreasonable and did not even listen to what I had to say very unhappy with everything do not recommend very moody lady

£9.14 for 2 drinks. Good value compared to London. The pub itself is in a good location and service was fast. Nice toilets and lots of seating. Typical Wetherspoons with no music so the atmosphere can be a bit flat. But who cares when drinks are this price!

The other Spoons down North Street is much better, go there instead.

Popped in to Wetherspoons on a trip to Brighton today, wish we had'nt bothered. Service at the bar was appalling, tables piled high with left over dishes from previous customers (for over an hour while we were there). Total lack of experienced staff to run the place. Asked for a pint of Abbott, charged me for it & then said it was off, asked for Doombar, also off, ended up with IPA (x 2 to make up for price deficit). Did'nt bother with food. Come on Wetherspoons sort it out!!

Waited 15 minutes for my drink and the with the woman red hair who made my drink then banged it on the table. Didn’t have no straws. It’s bad vibes, don’t come here!

Good food for little money. Had the English breakfast which was very nice. Everything well cooked. Served reasonably quickly.

Went in for breakfast, cold and looks as though someone has left theirs and the staff has kept it in the kitchen and served you with it. Terrible food like left overs. Avoid this place if you're going for breakfast.

Except the ladies (staff) who were on their break was a bit noisy and disturbance, it was just perfect .. the top seating is really good that it gives little sun shades to the tables

Excellent value and quality for the money

I visited the Brighton witherspoon's today (Friday) at 11:30 with my daughter and grandson after seeing the menu displayed on the front of the entrance. The three meals we had and the top-up drinks, which were all included in the price we paid was great. The food we had was lovely, top marks to the staff, who were lovely. We will really go back again. My daughter and Granson loved the Guinness and was really shocked at the very low price. 😳

Great city centre pub. We had our breakfast here as it was way cheaper than our hotel!

As spoons go this one has gone down hill glasses not clean on repeated occasions, staff poorly trained and those who are ment to be doing the training seem more interested in having a chat than helping new struggling staff.

The person behind the bar was very unhelpful and didn't seem bothered about my query on a price on the menu. She couldn't explain the issue and was very unhelpful. Not very good customer service. Never had this kind of service in a Wetherspoons before, I have been in lots of Wetherspoons all over the country. Not impressed.

Stayed for drinks with a gang of friends, nice and roomy, good service at the bar. Recommended.

It's a wetherspoons. I didn't mean to go there and wish I hadn't!

We all know wetherspoons is a dive but this one is particularly bad. Whenever I come here tables are piled high with dirty dishes the staff are too lazy to collect, there's always flies as well. Drinks come out slowly, with lipstick on the glasses and then the staff ignore you while you wait at the bar to get a fresh glass. The food is cheap but you get basically nothing for your money, pathetic amount of chips and they're advertising new food items which they don't even sell at this wetherspoons? Ridiculous. Of course I'll come back but get a grip

Fairly grotty Spoons, this. You're better off walking 5 minutes to their other outlet, at the Old Post. This one has a stale smell , poor seating, and a run down feel to it.

Quite a grotty place, kitchen was having a make over, that wasn't a problem for us, we had a drink then left...it wasn't the place you would want to stay for longer

We came from london for a day trip and ate here for our dinner. It was a good atmosphere with a separate dining area which is a nice place to eat. The service was 10/10, very attentive and friendly staff and chef's. The food was great value for money and nice portion sizes. Any issues with the food was promptly rectified with a gracious and courteous manner. Very nice place to eat.

Typical wetherspoons fine you know what to expect. Unfortunately I am disabled I couldn't manage the few steps the entrance and exit to the mini lift was surrounded by people eating and drinking. My husband fell trying to assist me

Had to wait for my meal longer than the other 12 people I was with because it wasn't a big fry up. Other than having no lift to upstairs if the disabled seating downstairs is full and the staff looking burnt out, no complaints

To be fair after coming down from London, found it quite nice and cheerful, the service is amazing from the staff and security good too!

Great food, unfortunately we had to clear and clean our own tables as there simply wasn't enough staff for how busy it was. Food was great though and we didn't have to wait long at all. Great value for a family of 6 looking for a quick bite to eat, plus there is always something for everyone on a Spoons menu.

Went to the Brighthelm Wetherspoons in Brighton today for breakfast and was extremely disappointed. We ordered at the bar and after waiting a considerable time for our meal we had to go and ask where it was as other people all around us came in after us but all received their meals. After a further wait our meals arrived on very hot plates but the food was barely warm and the butter was liquid due to it being placed on the hot plate. I asked the waiter for more butter which he said he would get but he never came back with it. The members of staff clearing tables did not look happy and there was very little interaction with the customers. We will not be going there again .

Very bad waiters the cola is served full of ice. It's writen 400 ml but There is 300 ml off ice so don't go there, there are much better pub than this one.

Tea and coffee with free refills and flat screen TV so I could watch a football match. Not bad. Service at the bar was a bit slow. Wetherspoons is a bit hit and miss but on the whole I was happy with my visit to this place. Passable in my opinion.

Went for some pre darts nosebag. Grub was OK (fish, chips n mushy peas) and was a good price. The tables that were available were filthy. Staff were clearing plates and glasses, but if you wanted slop left behind cleaned up, you had to find the cleaning station, grab some cleaning utensils and sort things out for yourself !

Came to Brighton as part of a mystery coach tour for the weekend. After having a wonder around came here to rest my feet and grab a drink. Very busy only 1 table free because there were no chairs lol managed to get 1 chair to sit and have my drink. Staff were friendly and helpful

Atmosphere is a bit low key for a city pub but it was comfortable enough.

This is one of my favourite pubs in Brighton. The food is very good, the beer fantastic and half the price of a nearby places, and the staff excellent. Let me mention the manager, Peter, I think, on a very busy Saturday night, but also Katie D, Morgan, and Flora who were sweet, nice, and very positive about the place on a quiet Thursday afternoon...This is my new local - except when it's packed!

Standard spoons... Cheap and not very cheerful

The food and service were excellent. Their raised dining area needs remodelling. The wall seating is broken and uneven to sit on, the whole room is dreary. Toilets were unexpectedly in great order. Their other bars Post & Telegraph (3 min walk) & West Quay in the Marina (45 min walk) are much nicer bars.

Ordered a breakfast, came out warm, small amount of beans, not enough butter given but lovely lady got us some more on request. Wasn't all that tbf. Tea refills all the way over the other side and no milk available had to ask for that also. Busy as most whetherspoons.

06/03/2024 A vaguely enjoyable Wednesday lunchtime in the Bright Helm, Wetherspoon's. A lot of detritus left on tables, as other reviews have noted, but this was dealt with fairly quickly. The food was actually pretty good, we both thought - again, yes, prices have gone up but still a reasonable deal compared with other outlets in Brighton.

Fantastic service by the staff, who seemed very young, but in fact were very professional and timely with the orders sent. Great atmosphere and good crowd and I was impressed by the service and the pricing is un matchable anywhere else. The young woman on the bar named Ellen was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Good food, nice atmosphere, great prices.

It was ok, cheap and cheerful. Probably wouldn't visit again unless I really had to.
