Delicious food, super helpful Service. Great lunch!

One of the most accomodating ice cream shops we've encountered! Normally we struggle with finding somewhere that is friendly towards my wife's nut allergy. They happily used a fresh scoop and also opened a brand new tub to ensure no cross contamination. Also, as a big bonus, the best ice cream we've ever had. Can't recommend the thunder and lightning more. Amazing

Just another quick visit on a Saturday night for a few beers but the place was buzzing due to a match being screened. Drink and service was very good and it makes a good alternative option to the other Ambleside bars x Buzzing bar, arrived in the middle of the Manchester football match with a great atmosphere. Beer was spot in as were the staff and service - would deffo recommend visit x

Stopped for sausage bun but instead opted for the daily special savory mince with dumplings mash and yorkshire pud. Absolutely gaugeous and beautifully presented super hot and wooden cutlery brill 👌 Hubby went with the cumberland sausage bun really good quality .lovely guys who run it.👍

We arrived at Pappy’s on a Saturday evening on a whim to get a table, but were told (politely) they were fully booked until 8:30pm. Fair enough. We agreed to return the following day instead and booked a table for 6:30pm. When we arrived the next evening, the same gentleman who took our booking couldn’t find it. He apologised and asked us to come back at 7:15pm, assuring us we’d be seated. Hungry but hopeful, we returned - only to be told again by the same person that they didn’t have capacity for us. Very disappointing and honestly frustrating. A bit more transparency and professionalism from front-of-house staff would go a long way, especially when people are making the effort to return. On a brighter note: Pedro’s Casa (down the road) saved our night. They fit us in last minute, the food was AMAZING, and the staff were warm and attentive. Highly recommended.

Been here a few times but have to say it has gone downhill over the last year, no visible presence of management or staff training, curly haired guy who hosted seemed more interested in making himself a coffee than seating customers. Open kitchen and we heard the chefs making derogatory comments about waiting staff and talking rudely about guests. The food was actually okay but for the price not amazing, the poor service and attitude of chefs and lack of management means we wont be returning. Shame as its a lovely hotel & spa in a good location between Ambleside & Windermere.

If you are visiting the Lake district for a pint with a perfect view, then the lake view garden bar is a must. It offers an amazing view of the lakes. There is a balcony or garden area to take in the views and atmosphere. There is also a qwerkyness to the place too if you chose to sit in, with plenty of decor to look around. The food is very nice too, it looks and tasted amazing plenty of choice to choose from not just your average pub food.

Rude barman. Made to feel unwelcome from the moment we walked in as ‘not local’. Place also smells.

Great to have a drive through Starbucks in town. Open early as well which is great. Great service. Coffee was quick and hot. Good to sit in as well and do a bit of work. Very pleasant and friendly staff.

Please keep away unless you want the worse meal you have ever had. Went on a date night and to pay for that ,what we had was a crime. Shouldn't be allowed to sell meals that bad. The staff were ok The place is in a nice setting. There is no atmosphere. When we went in. We thought, why is it so empty. Well, we found out. The food is terrible. Had a steak pie and I'm being very honest here. There was no meat in it at all. Wife had their best burger and left it. No taste. Be warned.
