One of the most accomodating ice cream shops we've encountered! Normally we struggle with finding somewhere that is friendly towards my wife's nut allergy. They happily used a fresh scoop and also opened a brand new tub to ensure no cross contamination. Also, as a big bonus, the best ice cream we've ever had. Can't recommend the thunder and lightning more. Amazing

All allergens listed which was useful! Lots of unique flavours and a wide variety! I had pistachio and it was creamy and delicious with lots of pieces of pistachio! Would definitely go again!

Great flavours and they sell the local Lakes Ice Cream with 24 flavours. The Cassis Sorbet and Gooseberry Sorbet were really good. The website is www.icekeswick.co.uk If you love ice cream then this is worth seeking out at a decent price too

The Ambleside Tavern, Compston Road
Called in with the idea of watching the a league 1 playoff final at 1pm, before watching the final premier league matches of the season. When we asked at the bar we were told they were unable to put it on because of the premier league match…when I said the premier league doesn’t kick off until 4pm they still maintained because of a ‘new system’ they couldn’t change the channel! Very disappointed!

The Old Smokehouse Yard 2, StricklandgateWe visited the property and had a fantastic time. The server was called Lucy who suggested the cocktails for the ladies whilst us guys stuck with beer and cider.She then asked about the meal and what we might want to add to the pre ordered beef rib.We decided on a sharing platters with extra brisket. The platter consists of 5 meats 3 sides and wraps and brioche hotdog buns.We then had 3 desserts consisting of peanut butter cookies and ice cream (2 )and churros with sauce.This was a great Texas barbecue and if your in the Kendal area you can get takeaway as well.Don't worry if you far away, they deliver online for you to heat up.The best Texas barbecue outside of Texas.

7 New Market StreetWe ordered food by calling the restaurant for a delivery and it is accepted. After 30 mins the restaurant calls back mentioning different rules for delivery which were conveniently forgotten when the order was accepted. Please grow up guys, do not trouble the visitors of this beautiful place.
